Jerome POV

*A few hours earlier*

I sat with my hands on my legs, sighing every now and then, I looked around at the circle, most of the others cuddling with each other,

I just say there a lonesome, like I have been for the past two years, wondering if he would ever come back again,

"Guys I'm going to go get some space for a while." I got nods from the others as they continued to lay in each other's laps,

I got up sulkily and walked to the tree that I had made many years ago. I sat at the trunk sighing deeply into my knees,

The memories when I came here, we're sometimes too much, the other all had each other but there was just me, I was like pulling them down, with me tagging along with them everytime we trained.

I looked into the vast area,

"What about here?"

Mitch looked at me although I was crazy,

"T-there a-are n-no t-trees"

"Why would you need a tree?"

"So I don't plummet to my death! That's why!"

Mitch shouted sternly,

I still remember most conversations we had together, although it hasn't been that long.

I looked up towards the sky,

"Where are you now Mitch?" I started getting dizzy, my vision going black every now and then, and eventually I fell asleep slumped on the tree.

My eyes opened suddenly to a loud whoosh like sound, I looked in front of me, my eyes adjusting to the light, seeing a shadow with two figures behind it.

My eyes almost bulged out of my sockets,

Mitch.

I looked up, holding out my hand a snake like vine twisting its way towards my hand and wrapping around my wrist and pulling me upwards,

I lightly stepped on the tree, making sure to make no sound as it might scare him, after all this time I see his face,

Almost hasn't changed, but he looks taller as well as the already humongous wings were larger and rested on the branch,

I looked at him from a distance hearing a small sigh, as he started swinging back and forth,

I decided I was coming out of my hiding place in the shadows, stepping on a crumpled up leaf,

"I always wondered when you would come back." I spoke sternly but softly,

He turned his head in my direction his eyes widening and beginning to water,

"Jerome?" He stuttered a single tear dripping down his cheek, as he stared at me in surprise.

I grabbed his hand and dragged him to the edge of the branch, as I looked down over the edge I looked back at him as he didn't flinch,

God he's not scared anymore.

"Do you want to go see the others?" I questioned looking at him as his eyes lit up and he nodded.

I guess we're off.
