Mitch POV

We travelled further into the landscape, I never looked back, I mean I'm old enough to handle myself right? I'm 13! Well may as well try?

I looked over to Jerome, I grabbed his hand, looking into his deep brown eyes, losing myself in them,

I was snapped out of my trance when Jerome pulled me out of the way of a in coming tree, my wings without warning spread open, wind catching them,

"WOAHHHH GUYS HELP!"

I screamed as loud as I possibly could,

"MITCH PULL YOUR WINGS IN!"

Vik shouted,

'Okay,Okay Mitch calm down, breath.'

And then I fell on my face,

"Ouch!"

I pulled myself up from the grass,

Jerome leading his hand out for me to hold,

"You could of helped ya know?"

I looked over to Jerome

"Well I'm sorry, I don't know how to control it?"

He sighed,

"Thanks guys!"

I looked up to the rest of the group,

Lachlan stopped,

"I think we are far enough away from the city and from whatever hell we were at before, we should set up camp."

I nodded and sat down my wings relaxing to rest on the soil,

Right now, all I wanted to do was go back to the adoption centre hell I came from, I wish I never ran away! None of this wouldn't of happened I wouldn't be even more homeless than I was before, I wouldn't be a freak, I barley even know these people and the only one i know well is Jerome, but he's never going to always be there, I just---"

"Mitch are you okay? You're crying."

I felt my cheeks, water droplets now on my finger tips,

"I-I'm fine I swear."

I wiped the tears from my face,

"This is my home now."

I whispered to myself,

I looked up to the group, they were all sitting and chatting among each other, Jerome making jokes and making everyone laugh,

A small but of laughter slipped from my mouth,

"This is my family now."
