FLASHBACK Chapter 2
"Why's everyone laughing?" I heard a voice say, I look towards the living room entrance way and saw aunt Gen and uncle Jared, smiling at us, and they were right they did match in darker colours.
"Aunt Gen!" I yelled, scrambling to my feet and running to her, only to tackle her to the floor in the hug, both of us laughing, while getting back up and fixing our dresses and pushing our hair out of our faces.
"Where's my hug?" Jared asks me, giving a lopsided grin. I just shrug my shoulders as I pretend to start walking past him, his jaw drops slightly in mock shock - I hope anyway. But just as I was walking past him, I turned and leapt on his back causing him to stumble to try and regain his footing, laughing all the while putting his hands around me as best as he can to stop me from falling.
"Hi, Uncle Jared." I said, giggling slightly at the fact that I had managed to jump on the gigantic moose's back and make him stumble slightly.
"Now if you are all ready, we need to get going, the premiere is in about an hour and a half and you still need to do some press and cast photos." Lily said looking towards me and then made a shooing motion with her hands, guiding us outside to the car after everyone made sure they had everything.
When we got outside I saw no cars but in their place was a black stretch limo with a police car both in front and behind it, just looking at the limo my jaw dropped, causing my family to start laughing.
"Oh my gosh." I said, still in awe of the scene in front of me, then remembered that there are police cars on either side of the limo and turn towards Philip, mum must have had the same thought because she also turned to Philip.
"Is this your work for tonight?" We both asked him in unison, raising our eyebrows, he smiled at us in reply.
"Well, I'm not gonna to let my girls go to the premiere withou' a littl' style." Philip said, his Scottish accent playing full force, it was one of the many things I found amusing when I first met him and I tried copying his accent a few times as well, but everyone would just laugh because I usually just sounded more Irish than anything, but I have gotten better.
"Wait, who's in the cars?" I asked looking towards the two police cars. I hope it's not Toby, no offence to him, but he thinks that talking about rocks for hours is fascinating, but I usually just fall asleep after a couple of minutes of him going on about the differences between granite and quartz.
I ran to the cars - well as best I can in heels and saw James Duncan in the car behind the limo and then ran to the other and saw Elliott Duncan in that car, James and Elliott are twins, they are both originally from Australia but moved to London when they were around 12 and now they work with Philip and they are usually the two I hang around with when Philip takes me with him when he has no other choice but it is only when they aren't there that I have to stay with Toby.
"Yes, it's the twins!" I exclaim to the others, doing a little wiggle dance of joy, being grateful that it's not Toby, causing the others to laugh at me, knowing exactly what I was thinking.
"Glad to see you too, Rose." Elliott said, getting out of his car and giving me a hug, James following closely behind him, giggling quietly to himself as if waiting for something to happen.
Right now I am lightly bouncing from foot-to-foot, the adrenaline of my excitement for the premiere now hitting full-force.
"Can we start going now, before I burst from excitement!?" I exclaimed, still jumping from either foot to the other, John now mimicking me, as this is the first time he is going to a movie premiere.
"Get in the car, Philip and I will go in the escort cars, and then we can get this show on the road." Lily said, starting to move towards the car James was in with said twin, while Elliott and Philip went to the other car and the rest of us crowded into the limo, me being the first to get in.
Once, I got into the limo however, I had the scare of a lifetime as I saw a certain actor, named Jeffrey Dean Morgan sitting towards the front, smirking at the look of shock on my face, "Hey, sweetheart." He chuckled, now you may be confused on how I know Jeff.
Well he worked on a show called Supernatural, which both uncle Jensen and uncle Jared have worked on as well, my uncles as Sam and Dean Winchester and Jeff as their father, John Winchester, and I had met the cast and crew through when I was on a press tour for the film and stayed with uncle Jensen.
"J2!" I yelled at my uncles, using the nickname mostly everyone calls them when they are together, turning around to look out of the limo, glaring slightly at the two of them. "Why did no one bother to tell me that Jeff was going to be here, and decided to have him scare the living daylights out of me?" I asked them coolly, still glaring at the two, whose eyes slightly widen at me, causing the others to laugh.
"We thought it would be a nice surprise, an extra person to be there to give you more confidence." Jared said, now giving me a small smile, Jensen doing the same, I then moved out of the way, letting everyone climb into the limo, grandpa being last and closed the door.
(Seating from furthest from the door: Jeff, Serena, Anya & John, Gino, Danneel, Jensen, Jared, Gen, Mark, William)
After the door had closed the limo started to drive on the hour and a half route to the premiere, as soon as we started moving, I looked towards uncle Jensen and noticed he started to look at me as well, noticing that I am still slightly nervous, he lifted his phone and aux cord, I nodded at him and he plugged it into the speakers and just hit shuffle on his phone.
The first song to come on was 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' by Green Day, we both immediately looked at each other and started to hum along to the music, also hearing a beep of a video starting, coming from Jeff's phone as he recorded the both of us.
"I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's only me, and I walk alone" Uncle Jensen started singing along to the voice of Billie Joe, as I continued to hum along.
"I walk this empty street
On the boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one, and I walk alone" I sang along, closing my eyes to try and calm my nerves.
"I walk alone, I walk alone
I walk alone and I walk a
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone" We both sang along to the music, starting to get into the music, smiling at each other after the chorus.
"Ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah ah" Uncle Mark came into to do this part, causing Jeff to chuckle, I looked over to him and chuckled as well.
"I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the borderline of the edge
And where I walk alone" I sang closing my eyes again to get into the mood of the song.
"Read between the lines
What's f****d up and everything's all right
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive
And I walk alone" Uncle Jensen sang, but missing out the cursing because John is in the car with us and we don't want him to pick up the cursing stage quite yet.
"I walk alone, I walk alone
I walk alone and I walk a
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone" We both sang once again, smiling as we sang in tune with each other.
"Ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah ah" Uncle Mark inputted once again.
"I walk alone, I walk a
I walk this empty street
On the boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one, and I walk alone
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone." The three of us sang together to finish the song, smiling at each other as everyone else cheered and John clapped.
After the music finished carrying out, the next song played, it being 'Hips Don't Lie' by Shakira, making us all look at him after he paused it, him being embarrassed that his Shakira obsession has been caught out, making us chuckle a bit as Mark took his phone and restarted the song, smirking at me, thinking that I won't sing it in both English and Spanish.
Well, he guessed wrong.
"Ladies up in here tonight
No fighting
We got the refugees up in here (no fighting)
No fighting
Shakira, Shakira" Uncle Jared started the song this time, holding his hands out to aunt Gen, as uncle Gino held his arms in front of mum – his hand pointing at me, and aunt Elta, thus causing us to laugh a little.
"I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man wants to speak Spanish
Como se llama (si)
Bonita (si)
Mi casa (Shakira, Shakira), su casa" Uncle Jensen sang, looking at me, with uncle Jared and uncle Gino doing the background guys.
"Oh baby when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise (si) and keep on (si)
Reading the signs of my body (uno, dos, tres, cuatro)
And I'm on tonight you know my hips don't lie
And I'm starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension
Don't you see baby, this is perfection" I sang with my uncles doing the backing Spanish at the right points in time, all of us smiling the whole time.
"Hey Girl, I can see your body moving
And it's driving me crazy (uh huh)
And I didn't have the slightest idea
Until I saw you dancing (yeah)
And when you walk up on the dance floor
Nobody cannot ignore
The way you move your body, girl (just move)
And everything so unexpected, the way you right and left it
So you can keep on shaking it
I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man wants to speak Spanish
Como se llama (si)
Bonita (si)
Mi casa (Shakira, Shakira), su casa" All three of my uncles sang in turn, starting with Gino, then onto J2 and then finally uncle Mark.
"Oh baby when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise (si) and keep on (si)
Reading the signs of my body (no fighting)
And I'm on tonight you know my hips don't lie (no fighting)
And I am starting to feel you boy
Come on let's go, real slow
Don't you see baby asi es perfecto
They know I am on tonight
My hips don't lie and I am starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension
Don't you see baby, this is perfection (Shakira, Shakira)
Oh boy, I can see your body moving
Half animal, half man
I don't, don't really know what I'm doing
But you seem to have a plan
My will and self-restraint
Have come to fail now, fail now
See, I am doing what I can, but I can't so you know
That's a bit too hard to explain" I sang, still smiling the whole time, becoming more calm and happy than nervous and scared as the song went on, with my mum and aunt Elta joining in a little in this part.
"Baila en la calle de noche
Baila en la calle de día" J2 sang and Gino sang in perfect Spanish and in sync with each other.
"Baila en la calle de noche
Baila en la calle de día" I sang copying what my uncles did, laughing a little.
"I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man wants to speak Spanish
Como se llama (si)
Bonita (si)
Mi casa (Shakira Shakira), su casa" My uncles sang once again in the perfect timing with each other.
"Oh baby when you talk like that
You know you got me hypnotized
So be wise and keep on
Reading the signs of my body" I sang looking to uncle Mark and seeing the shock sync in that I knew the whole song and that he was wrong to play across his face.
"Señorita,
Feel the conga, let me see you move like you come from Colombia" Uncle Gino sang, with a smirk playing on his lips.
"Mira en Barranquilla se baila así, say it!" I sang, pointing over to my uncles once I had.
"En Barranquilla se baila así" They copied, in perfect unison, all four of them.
"Yeah, she's so sexy every man's fantasy a refugee
Like me back with the refugees from a third world country
I go back like when Pac carried crates
For Humpty, Humpty we need a whole club dizzy
'Why the CIA wanna watch us?' Colombians and Haitians
I ain't guilty, it's a musical transaction
No more do we snatch ropes
Refugees run the seas cause we own our own boats (no fighting)" Uncle Jensen sang/rapped me joining in at a point.
"I'm on tonight
My hips don't lie and I am starting to feel you boy
Come on let's go, real slow
Baby like this is perfecto (no fighting)
Oh, you know I am on tonight
My hips don't lie and I am starting to feel it's right
The attraction
The tension
Baby, like this, is perfection" I sang the final verse, a smile never leaving my lips the entire time.
"No fighting" My uncles and Jeff said in unison.
"No fighting." I finished at the end of the song. Laughing as everyone cheered at the perfect Spanish that was spoken during the song.
"Okay, who has been teaching her fluent Spanish?" Uncle Mark said, looking around to everyone, causing mum, aunt Elta and uncle Gino to point at grandpa, who sat with a smile on his face.
