The light poured in from the slotted windows where I was sitting. It was dark and all I could hear was the whip of the fan above me. Suddenly there was the sound of pounding on my door, and I felt my heart clench in my chest. My chained arms sagged next to me, and I licked my dry lips. I waited for the person enter the cell. "Oh, so this is the feisty one?" a voice asked. "She doesn't look like much to me," they uttered again. I felt my head slump against the concrete wall and the person's footsteps came closer.
How did I get here? One word: Naruto.
Two Days Prior ~
"Shinta Hidiki, please come forth." I rose up from my seat and walked into the Hokage's office. It was small, but spacious, if that made sense. The floor was wooden, and seemed to be hundreds of years old by the way it squeaked when I stepped on it. I clasped my hands behind my back and bowed to Tsunade. "Good morning, Lady Tsunade," I spoke politely.
"Oh, a good morning to you too, Shinta," she replied with a smile. "How is your job going as Captain? Are all the men treating you with respect?" I grinned graciously as the Lady spoke her concerns toward my shyness with people. She knew that I wasn't a people person, and that becoming captain was a difficult transition, but it was doable. "They are respecting me, Lady," I laughed. "In fact, I think I scared a few when they saw a small woman like me flip a big man like Kiba Inuzuka." Lady T chortled jovially and smoked her pipe for a second. "That's good," she murmured. "Good." I waited for her to speak, until she set her pipe down and gazed at me seriously. "Shinta, I have another mission for you. It is not for you and the ANBU troops though. It is for you and two other chunin. They need more experience and I will hope they will not only get more of that, but so will you." The Hokage seemed to be very serious, as if this was a life or death or situation.
"There was rumor of the Akatsuki being in the Village of the Mist, and I want you to take them and teach them some ways to find and defeat an enemy. But beware...there was a rumor of Sasuke Uchiha being there." I furrowed my brows. Sasuke Uchiha was my baby cousin who I never really messed with much. Yes we were the last of the Uchiha clan, but he never spoke to me, and pretended I didn't exist. As if I had disappeared with the rest of my clan. Well I decide I didn't want to endanger any of my friends, (after being ambushed) and 'disappeared.' I changed my raven black hair to a turquoise color and claimed myself as Shinta Hidiki. "Last I had heard of Sasuke was that he went crazy and left for good with Orochimaru. Even after all his friends went through..." I trailed off sadly. I was one of the ANBU who had to help the people, and couldn't go after the others. Though, I wished I could've. Then maybe Sasuke wouldn't be gone. Maybe he shouldn't have entered the chunin exams either. I still blamed myself about all of it. "Yes. We had no idea of his whereabouts until there was rumor of one of the Akatsuki and Sasuke fighting," Tsunade muttered. "Tomorrow you and the two chunin will meet at the front gate. Please pack everything you will need for a few days, and money. You are dismissed." I bowed to Lady T and left promptly.
~Next Day~
"I am prepared to leave," I told Lady Tsunade. She blew smoke from her aperture mouth and then gazed at me sadly. "Be careful," she susurrated. "Yes ma'am. I will return with glory." I bowed respectfully and left immediately. I grabbed my bags that were outside her door and walked to the front gate, hearing the sounds of teenagers arising from the surrounding area. "....NARUTO!" I winced at the sounds of pain, and peaked around the gate. There was two chunin, one girl and one boy. The boy was taller than me, with spikey blonde hair that stuck up in all directions. He had deeply tanned skin like he spent a lot of time out in the sun, and his eyes stuck out like a candle in a coal mine. They were deep blue orbs framed by short lashes and three whiskers on the side of his face. He had his ninja headband over his forehead, and he sported an orange jumpsuit that most likely only he could rock. I liked his style: bold and different. The other girl seemed to be intimidating and almost violent.
She had pink hair that reached her shoulders, holding herself up confidently. She wore a red qipao dress with white circular designs, with short sleeves, with a zipper, tight dark green shorts, standard ninja sandals, and a forehead protector which she used to accentuate her face. Her forehead was large, but everything else about her distracted you from it. She seemed to be one of the hopeless romantics, and I didn't dislike her, I just wasn't sure how to deal with her. I wasn't very fond of people, if you haven't noticed.
I stepped out from the corner of the gate and gave a nervous look to the two chunin. "Hi..." I murmured to them.
"Hey," the cheered sweetly, dropping the other adolescent boy on his head. She was scarily strong. Her expression went from malicious to angelic. "I'm guessing that you two are the chunin who are to accompany me to the Village of the Mist." The pinkette nodded, pointing to herself using her thumb. "My name is Sakura Haruno, nice to meet you." I shook her hand and took note of her strong hold. She reminded a bit of Tsunade. The blonde boy stood up, shaking his spikey hair out. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, believe it!" I liked his liveliness and shook his hand with a small smile. "I am your sensei for now. My name is Shinta Hidiki, you may call me sensei Shinta, or just Shinta. I am the ANBU forces captain, and I am eighteen years old. Please respect me, and I will treat you the same. I hope we can work together well," I spoke proudly, bowing to them.
The two smiled nonchalantly and bowed in return, their fist in the palm of their other hand. "Hai sensei." I grinned happily and pulled my backpack over one shoulder. "This will be a long journey," I warned. "But have fun."
A Few Hours Later...
"Can we sit now?" Sakura complained. I sighed and threw my pack on the ground. "Fine. Naruto, please help me set up camp while Sakura checks the perimeters." Sakura nodded at me and set off, while Naruto helped me set up camp. "Hey, Shinta?" I raised my head and looked at him. "Yes Naruto, can I help you?" He gave me a strange look, unlike his usual loud and boisterous personality. It was strange. "Have you ever heard of Sasuke Uchiha? The last of the Uchiha clan?" I stopped doing what I was doing and looked at Naruto seriously, his deep blue gaze burning holes into my own sockets. "Of course. He is the son of Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha. Mikoto named him after the father of the Third Hokage in hopes that he would grow up to be a great ninja like his name's sake. He was given a cursed mark from Orochimaru, and therefore left Konohagakure to find power. Supposedly he is looking for the missing-nin, Itachi Uchiha, his brother who killed all other living relatives of the Uchiha clan." I closed my eyes briefly, letting memories resurface.
Sasuke and I playing as children. The day we were sleeping together and Itachi burst into our room, his arms posed to strike. Then he told us we were too weak to kill. That we weren't good enough. After that, Sasuke became cold, and we never spoke. We both lived together, but it was as if we were complete strangers. And then, he up and left, to search for Itachi.
"I knew him very well Naruto. Maybe as well as you did."
Naruto seemed awed for a minute, but then leaned close to my face. "I heard a rumor from Pervy Sage that Sasuke was in the Village of the Mist. I'm gonna bring him home," he exclaimed. "How will I ever become Hokage like granny if I can't even save one friend?" I nodded. "You're a warrior," I whispered. "But you're heart rivals even that. Your power doesn't come from that bijū that is in you. It's your inner strength." I poked his chest, then ruffled his hair. "Wait, do you feel that?" I asked him suddenly. Naruto's ears perked. "No. I can't feel a thing." I furrowed my brows, pausing. "That's the thing. Sakura, I can't feel her chakra." There was a rustle in the bushes near me, and I closed my eyes, using my sharingan to see what was going on. There was a man in the bushes, but he was disguised as Sakura. We were about to be ambushed. Jinn, I called. I need you to send a message to Kurama, Naruto's bijū. There a slight movement in my consciousness and I heard the groan of Jinn, my bijū.
Fine. What should I tell him, Shinta?
Tell him to tell Naruto that the Sakura that is about to come through the bushes is an imposter, and to not act unusually until I say so. That's an order.
Whatever, Jinn moved swiftly, and I hear him speak with Kurama. When it was time for me to fight, I fought with poise and protected my comrades at all costs. I would not have Naruto disobey my orders and get hurt. Not now, not ever. Naruto seemed to have gotten the message but looked very defiant. I hoped to God he wouldn't do anything rash. The next second 'Sakura' came through the bushes. "Hi guys," she said happily. "Hi," I acted as my normal self. If I gave away my position, everything about this mission, and maybe even Sakura could be at risk. Obviously, this wasn't Sakura. "Naruto and I finished setting up camp, did you find anything on the borders?" My eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "Uh, No," she muttered. "But I believe that I did her something, or saw something on the east perimeter." I nodded. Most likely there was going to be an ambush there. I messaged Naruto, by Jinn, and told him that he needed to keep his guard up and send out some clones of himself to keep watch.
He nodded ever so slightly and I got the crude feeling we were being watched.
Suddenly I tripped and fell, landing on my knees. There was a little doll by my feet, most likely the toy of a little child. It made my facial expression soften the memories of being a young girl billow throughbmy brain on replay, like a broken record. But then the thought hit me that this was the muddle of the forest. So why would there be dollie in the center? It was quite suspicious. I picked the dool up and stored it inside my pack. Naruto saw it and raised his eyes brows. "What's that?" I shook my head. "Nothing. A souvenir, you could say," I commented. The imposter Sakura smiled innocently at me, but I could see a hardening to her eyes. Suddenly there was an influx of Chakra and I felt paralyzed. What was happening? I couldn't move.
Who was 'Sakura'?
Naruto saw the way my eye windened in panicked, and charged at the Sakura. "Rasengan!" he screamed, and threw the ball of light toward the imposter. It seemed to have hit her, but then she stood up, laughing. "You're so stupid. You just alerted all of my other colleagues your location. Now you and your friend aren't safe. You're doomed." A cackling sound burst out of the imposter mouth, and I felt shivers rake my spine. I was under the shadow possesion Jutsu. There was no way I could move, or any second she could make me kill myself, or worse, make me kill Naruto.
"Come with us," she purred, still sporting the form of Sakura. I growled, but found my legs moving without my accord. I was usually the shy girl, the quiet one. But when it came to battle, I would do anything to protect my beloved partners. Naruto gave me one sad look and followed the fake Sakura. He knew it was what I wanted.

†Present Time†
I tried to call out to someone, anyone, but I could barely see through my fatigued eyes. "You. Girl. Look at me." someone called. I looked up and shivered, seeing a man. He had slanted blue eyes and very long blond hair which he wore drawn into a half ponytail, with the rest hanging down freely. A bang hung over his left eye. His outfit consisted of a robe with little red clouds outlined in white, and black pants underneath. He stared at me, my clothing ripped and shredded from the repeated torture I had gotten over the past few days.
My stomach, and many other patches of skin were exposed. I closed my eyes and then sighed deeply. "If you are here for more torture, just get it done and over with. I will never tell you our secrets. You're crazy." The man scoffed and then leaned down. "You are stupid," he muttered with a smirk. "You will die before tomorrow. I was told to watch over you, but i ave a bit more fun before distributing you to Pain." His eyes ravaged my vulnerable skin. "I will die before I let you touch my skin," I spat at him. The man pulled at my chains and made me stand on shaky legs. "I am Deidara. You can either come with me, be left here to rot, or wait until I let Tobi play with you."
I flinched at the times they had let Tobi 'play' with me. “My name is Shinta.”
"Fine," I gave in. What could be worse?
We traveled across lots of areas, the empty building making me wonder what was going on. Why was everyone gone? I thrashed around a bit and felt Deidara tug on my chains, the cuffs on wrisits biting into the thin flesh, now blistered. He opened a door, (a steel looking door that looked both sound proof but chakra infused), and stepped into the open area. There was clay figures all around me, and the colored of his bed was red, with one white strip in the center. He struck me as strange.
"Well? What do you want with me?" Deidara's eyes once again traveled down my body and I felt self-conscious. The enemy had no right to look at my body like a hungry, and starved animal. Absolutely no right. "You are a beautiful woman. I will do to you what all others get from me." He stood near me and pushed me onto his bed, my back on the comforter. "Are you going to rape me? I won't comply. No matter what." He smirked and then pressed his mouth onto my own and I kept my mouth shut. I didn't want him into me, in any way. He was the enemy. A good looking one, yes, but an enemy all the same.
"Let me in," he growled in annoyance. “No,” I defied. I wasn't going to lose my first kiss to a demonic man like him. Not one who works for the Akatsuki or otherwise.
I felt something grope my butt and then I gasped, feeling his fingers dig into me. “Aaahh!” I screamed before his tongue flickered into my mouth like a snake. His lips covered mine and he tried to make me move. I wouldn't budge. I didn't want to feel him pleasure me. I didn't want anything from him. Suddenly Deidara slipped his hand under my shirt, and massaged the area around my breast. My breathing hitched and I held back a moan. I didn't want to moan for him. “Give in,” he whispered huskily in my ear. “I won't ever,” I sneered, but found myself sighing as I felt his fingers tracing my areola.
Shinta, I heard a whisper in my mind. It was Jinn. Yes Jinn?
I think you should ‘occupy’ him for awhile. I can search for Naruto and the real Sakura using my chakra. All you have to do keep an eye on him, fall asleep, and I'll wake you up when I have located them.
Good idea. Do me well, I said to him and I felt his presence leave.
I finally gave into the kiss, and Deidara seemed surprised, stopping for a fraction of a second before plugging his tongue deeper into my mouth. My legs were around his waist, and I was slowly grinding on the little tent made in his pants. Deidara growled and bit my lip, sucking in the lower piece. His hands tangled in my hair and we were a disarray of tongues, lips, and hips. “I can't take this anymore,” Deidara said. He smirked as he pulled off his shirt and pants that were hidden underneath his robe, and I marveled at him. He was gorgeous. You're only doing this so you can escape, I murmured to myself. But for some reason it felt like it had more to do with Deidara, and his magnetic personality.
As I moaned his name, I felt something well up into my chest. I wasn't sure what, but I knew in the morning, when I left, it would hurt.
••♦••♦••♦|§|♦••♦••♦••
Shinta, a voice tickled my ear. Shinta, I found them. I slowly opened my eyes, and looked around. Clothes were distributed all over the room, and the bed cover was over my naked body. My cheeks reddened as thought of what I had done. I glanced at Deidara, my expression hardening. His looked so innocent as he slept. It was hard to believe that he was a criminal. How could someone look so harmless, so blameless?
Shinta, you must hurry. There are no times for sentiments.
I nodded, grabbing some of Deidara's clothes out of his large closet. It was an Akatsuki robe, a white T-shirt, and dark black pants. I put everything on and then gathered my old clothes. I searched around his room and found some dagger, which I pocketed or stuffed in my boot. This is all for Konohagakure. I felt something wrench in my chest as I left the room, going down the halls. It was like my heart being pulled out of my chest and being eaten by a demonic man. I felt like I could no longer walk. But Jinn forced me on, the bijū leading me away to find my partners.
I could slowly feel myself to fall to pieces. Why did I feel this way?
I made it to a caged area, and found Naruto and Sakura, chained up. I had pulled out my daggers and broke the chains, having Jinn transport us back to Konoha as the alrams around me went off. I felt myself and two others become swallowed up by the purple and black chakra. I could feel my heart tearing into pieces, and I clutched my chest. Right before we disappeared, away from this place forever, I heard someone scream my name. “SHINTA!!!” I didn't bother to look to see who it was.
I think I knew who it was anyway.
We both had connected on some deeper level, and somehow, during the night, our souls fused together.
I know you'll find me someday, I whispered in my mind.
A single tear slipped down my cheek.
