The day was beautiful, with the sun shining high above the tuft of clouds. Konohagakure glowed with happiness and smiles.

Villagers were strewn about, doing their daily duties. Little ninjas in training were out getting their missions done and over with; walking dogs, finding lost kitties, and cleaning up village trash. It was nearing 15:00, and the village was at its peak.

Sasuke Uchiha drug himself home after a long day of work.

He had worked all day, and then stopped at his friend Ino's for a drink or two. Of course, her husband, came home, and then he departed, giving the couple some alone time. But unfortunately, despite the glorious sunlighr, and the happy smiles from the villagers, none of it brightened his day. As he traveled through the village, silence, horrible silence would follow him.

"Hey look, it's Sasuke Uchiha!" Someone whispered.

"What is he doing here..."

He couldn't do anything about it. If he did, he'd be considered an enemy. Everyone just waited for him to break and that would give them an excuse to kill him.

"I'd never let him in my shop!" Another exclaimed.

As he waded his ways through the crowds, a wide berth was given to him. Eyes bored into his soul, as he made his way back to his apartment. "Why does Lord Hokage tolerate him?" One person questioned. "He can't be trusted."

Sasuke's eyes flickered to the man, and then went back to his sandals.

"Tch."

A little boys ball stopped right in front of Sasuke's ninja sandal, when a little boy came up and picked it up. Sasuke stopped and said nothing as the little boy smiled up at him. Just as Sasuke was about to say something, a mother pushed her way through the crowd and grabbed the boy his wrist, making the boy drop his ball again. "Don't look him in thebeyes, he's dangerous! I dont want you near him."

The mother turned around and glared at the Uchiha who only stared at her indifferently.

"Stay away from my son," she hissed, and stormed away, the little boy giving him sad eyes.

Sasuke sighed and then continued on his way home.

He remembered what Naruto had told him just the day before. "Sasuke, I know this is hard, but you can't react to anything they say. They want to provoke you. Don't give them a reason."

But then he remembered being pulled by the collar. A man who he had never met before stared into his eyes, hating him. It was was so obvious. The man said, "We don't like you or want you here! You're around because Lord Hokage says so, but you're still a traitor..."

The man clenched his teeth. "You're still scum! One sign that you're a threat and we'll kill you!" He hissed.

Sasuke had finally made it into his apartment, and leaned against the door once safely inside.

He felt awful.

Day after day he'd listen to the same old words being spit at him. He never reacted. At least not to their faces. It seemed he could go nowhere without the words following him around. And although he had years to perfect his cover of emotions, there were some things that even the Uchiha could not control.

He let sadness takes it's course.

"He shouldn't be allowed to live! He should've been executed the minute he came back!"

"Monster."

"Filthy Uchiha!"

"You don't deserve the sympathy Lord Hokage gives you!"

"You disgust me."

"Once a traitor always a traitor..."

"Traitor!"

"The Hokage may trust him but I never will..."

"I don't feel safe in my own home with him around. He's just waiting for us to turn our back so he can slaughter us just like his brother."

"Scum."

"What's the Hokage thinking? Allowing him to wear that uniform, what a disgrace..."

"I refuse to stand on the same squad as him!"

"The Uchiha has always been the source of our problems!"

"There's no excuse!"

"You don't belong here! GET OUT!"

"How could anyone love him?"

"Sasuke."

Sasuke's head whipped up as soon as he heard his name. Tears laid on the edge of his lashes, eyes wide open in surprise. He felt warm arms encircle his waist, and a soft nose nuzzle his neck. "Finally! I've been waiting for you to come home," the Hokage said to his lover. "I've got you're favorite for dinner." The blonde haired man moved his hands from Sasuke's waist to his hands, grasping his fingers and squeezing lightly.

"Whoa, Sasuke," Naruto whispered. "You're shaking... what's wrong?"

He grasped his boyfriends shoulder and tried to turn him around, but Sasuke wouldn't budge. "Sasuke, look at me."

Naruto gripped Sasuke's shoulder harder and forced him to look him in the eye. When he saw his lovers face, he couldn't help but feel a tug at his heart. A horrible, awful tug, like someone was pulling the veins out one by one. It was painful to see the now overflowing tears dripping down Sasuke's cheeks. His face was contorted in pain, and he couldn't hold it in anymore. Naruto cupped Sasuke's cheeks, and wipes away his tears with his thumb.

Sasuke always felt alone, but his Naruto, he could feel the burning love he had for him. It was as if beckoning him to join him. The smile that always adorned his lovers face was something he enjoyed. It was something he couldn't live without.

"Shhhhh... I know baby, I know. It's okay now, you're okay," Naruto whispered gently into Sasuke's ear as he sobbed heart wrenching tears, burying his face into the blonde's neck. He clutched onto Naruto's clothes, tears forming rivers of grief over his usual façade. He could not be unemotional. He could not stay silent. He could not be stoic. He could not be anything but sad, bitter, and emotional.

Naruto just patted his back and whispered sweet everything's into Sasuke's ear.

"I'm here Sasuke, I'm here..."

Naruto gazed at the picture frame behind Sasuke's trembling figure...it was of Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, and himself, smiling into the camera. He couldn't help but get misty in the eyes himself, and smile faintly.

"We're all right here."
