Let The Games Begin (Chapter 4)

Your grandpa, Makarov, had a meeting with your team first, so that way he could speak to Team A right before midnight, keeping up with the act that they were the only team. He goes over the importance of keeping this team a secret until the start of the games, as well as keeping Jellal, or Mystogan as he is pretending to be, a secret. Everyone on the team goes around the room giving a description of Mystogan to him so he can be as accurate as possible to any outsiders. Mystogan was always someone you looked up to so you were excited to at least pretend he was here one more time, and you offered Jellal help in any way you could. You all then had a group dinner before the others headed back to the inn. Most of the dinner was spent discussing your plans for what to do to Team A if you won. Your sneaky grandpa promised to make them do whatever you wanted for an entire day if you kept this a secret like he asks, and win. Laxus seemed to have the most impressive plans, so you vowed to take your older brother's lead following a win. Except when it came to Gray. Gray was yours to do whatever you demanded of him. Gray was your first ever boyfriend, and now you two were the best of friends. Laxus knew you would make Gray regret losing if you were in charge of him so he agreed to giving Gray to you. You and Laxus could make a killer team when you wanted to.

Once dinner came to an end, you went upstairs to wash up some and unpack a little. At 11:30 you were all in your rooms, waiting to see if everyone made it in for the mandatory participant midnight curfew. Everyone on Team B made it. Everyone waited for word that the slightly more unreliable Team A did too.

While waiting, you remembered your strange encounter today with that creepy group that approached you while talking with Sting.

"Hey Lax, I wanted to talk to you about something weird that happened today."

"Oh you mean how you and Cana went out and drank a bar clean?"

"We didn't drink even half as much as you think Lax." you say rolling your eyes showing your clearly aggravated. "We weren't even drunk yet."

"Your tolerance must be reaching Cana's level." he remarked, clearly thinking you were lying. "Let me guess, it was when you were being treated SO NICE by the supposed dragon-slayers."

"Laxus, stop! I'm serious here. I was looking for you before you found me! but now that you mention it was right after -"

Just as you got that out, it turned midnight and a Pumpkin-Man appeared in the middle of the sky. The Pumpkin-Man apparently is the host of the Grand Magic Games. He announced something you doubt anyone was prepared for: the Preliminaries were starting, NOW! not only do you have to pass this round, but you must place in the Top 8 or your eliminated completely from the competition. Your conversation with Laxus was just going to have to wait.

The building starts rising up out of nowhere and then a pathway extends itself from your balcony to a huge sphere in the middle of the sky, miles above crocus. Fairy Tail Team B waste no time and begins running up the paths immediately. Once there, you all discover it is some sort of topsy turvy maze.

"How the hell do we know where to go?" Gajeel yells, aggravated at the lack of direction participants were given.

"Cana! Could your cards help with that?" you ask hopefully.

"It's worth a shot!" she replies whipping out her deck of cards and laying some out in front her. After a minute fo reading the cards in front of her she points in a direction. "North East!"

"Who can tell us where North East is?" you ask looking around at your comrades.

"Follow me." Jellal instructs you and the group. You all follow him for about 4 minutes until you feel a rumble. Without warning, the maze starts turning upside down. Gajeel uses his iron sword to penetrate the cement and stop himself from falling. Jellal is the quickest of your bunch and ops around until he lands somewhere safe. Laxus holds on for dear life with one arm, the other arm holding onto you as you try to do the same as him. Cana is caught off guard, but Mira saves her. Mira turned into her Satan Soul form and used her wings to fly her and Cana back to the group once the maze stopped moving. All around you, people are falling down to the city below, teams being eliminated left and right. Cana looks at her cards one more time to make sure North East is still the direction we need to travel.

"South East now!" she says and everyone runs after Jellal. You and your group reach the end of the maze as you feel the maze shifting again. Everyone holds on strong, but suddenly your path does not line up with the end of the maze. It is in sight still, so Mira uses Satan Soul again to fly each of you one-by-one to the finish.

"Congratulations! You are the 2nd team to make it to the finish line. Fairy Tail Team B is SAFE!" The pumpkin man says, ushering you into the exit. Once inside, you all celebrate for just a moment before heading back to your inn. Tomorrow is going to be a long day, so you all decide to get to bed as soon as you can and prepare for an early start.

The next morning Mira and you are the first ones awake. You and her wake Jellal up, knowing it will take him the longest to get ready due to his complicated disguise. With the help of you two, he blends in perfectly within 20 minutes. Next, it's time to wake up Cana. The 4 of you, as well as Makarov, eat breakfast together, while the 2 hot heads of the team get a little extra sleep. Once you all are finished eating, you grab a plate of waffles, some orange juice, and head to your brother's room to wake him up.

"Laxus. Laxus wake up." you say, putting the waffles down on his nightstand. "Laxus, i brought you breakfast." He begins to stir, but hasn't opened his eyes yet. Gently shaking his arm you say it again, "Lax, I brought you some breakfast."

"Wha- oh, it's you." he says as he jumps a little. "Thanks shrimp."

"No problem, wanted to make sure you got a decent start to the day. I'm going to go get ready. I'll see you at the arena." you say, making your way out of his room. Cana was in the process of waking up Gajeel. You peek in his room and see it's not going so well.

"Cana! Just ask Pantherlily to do it." you say, laughing at her as she tries with all her weight to pull him out of his bed.

"I was going to see how long she could keep this up while getting nowhere." Pantherlily says to you.

"Damn you Lily!" Cana yells, dropping Gajeel's arm and walking out of the room. You follow her and leave Pantherlily to wake up his best friend on his own.

"Did you hear Team A has uniforms?" you say as you two enter your room.

"Glad Gramps didn't torture us with any." She says picking out her outfit.

"It's only because he knew Me and Mira would be the only ones to listen." you laugh grabbing your outfit. You chose a very strappy & revealing piece that comes down to a V in the front, with soft black shorts, and almost your whole back out. Black thigh high boots with a heel. Your (f/c) Fairy Tail emblem proudly showing on your ribs.

"I still can't believe Gramps is letting you wear that. Laxus is going to completely freak out." Cana says laughing hysterically.

"Don't remind me! I'm nervous enough to walk out." you say as you figure your way into the clothes. "Gramps is hoping that between me, you, and Mira, we can gain some fans. Plus he said it'll help if we have to battle some of the more experienced men. I heard Jura is participating this year. Doubt it'll effect him, but he won't be the only strong one out there."

"OH MAN, can you imagine if you fought HIbiki dressed like that?" she laughs fitting into her own outfit.

"Any of the Trimen would go down without a fight." you say, touching up your (h/l), (h/c) hair. "Let's be real though, is it really worse than Mira's forms? I'm wearing more than I would be in a swimsuit."

(this is the outfit I Imagined, just as a romper at the bottom sort of.)

You and Cana make your way to the arena, and apparently are the last to arrive. Pantherlily greets you at the entrance you'll be walking out of. As you make it down the tunnel to your teammates, you hear Laxus before you see him.

"YOU LET HER WEAR THAT OLD MAN?!" Laxus yelled at your grandpa once you walked out.

"She needed to show her guild mark. Besides, I thought this would be smart for when she has to fight some of the men." Gramps replied casually. You gave Laxus your most innocent face, holding your hands in behind you. You notice Jellal is frozen and his eyes are wider than ever.

"STOP LOOKING AT HER!" Laxus yells at him, snapping his gaze away from you.

"See. It could work if you keep that hot head of yours in check." Gajeel says, laughing hysterically at Laxus' now pissed of demeanor.

"Technically she's wearing more of a top than me." Cana says, trying to alleviate some of the tension.

"That's not saying much." Laxus says clenching his fist. Before the argument could continue, your team was announced and you turn towards the exit, but look back at Laxus for a sneaky smirk before actually exiting. You heard him mutter "This is bullshit" before walking forward himself. Your group exits into the arena and you're in shock. You didnt realize quite how many people would be here. Gray is staring at you with his jaw dropped, and the rest of Fairy Tail Team A is standing in shock slowly realizing they will be battling some of their guild-mates.

"YOU LET HER WEAR THAT?!" Gray yells to Laxus.

"DO YOU FUCKING THINK I ALLOWED THAT?!" Laxus yells back.

"Gramps thought it was cute." you smirk at the 2 boys before turning to face everyone else.

You noticed the guys of Cerebral Quattro staring at you basically drooling, and hid next to Gray out of their view as such as possible. Laxus shot you a 'I told you so'  look. Next, Sabertooth is announced. You look anxiously to see who this famous guild's team consist of. You step forward back into view without realizing it once you notice Sting and his friend. You stand in a cocky stance with one arm around Gray, who has his arms crossed and game face on, staring down all of the competition as intimidating as he can. Sting looks you up and down wide eyed and smirking, until his partner whispers something to him. Of course your over protective brother noticed the exchange and glared his way until the first game was announced.

The first games begin as the remaining contestants take their place in the balconies. You were lucky enough to not be participating today. You watched Gray and Juvia, who entered the second she saw Gray participating, despite being a reserve member, as they lost horribly. Every now and again though, you couldn't help but make eye contact with a cute, blonde dragon-slayer in a balcony next to yours and wonder when you would get to see him in action.
