So far, they've met Professor Backpack again to help him solve the riddle of Pristine Peaks on the three Stone Masks with different symbols on their head, which tells the tale how the sun beat down upon Pristine Peaks, sweat glistened on Rabbid cheeks. Another tells how the Rabbids sculpt those stone masks that will breathe cool air upon their backs. Then finally when Cursa comes and corrupts the masks with the Darkmess Tentacle that the heroes just defeated as it causes its icy roar that threatened their survival. At least, they know what causes the sudden chilly blizzard as they've figured that out already. They then help roll the right symbols on the Stone Masks' head that tells the tale before getting coins as a thank you for helping Professor Backpack.

They then head off to explore more places as they've encountered someone's cabin who turned out to be the same Rabbid fortune telling lady, Madame Bwahstrella. It's like she knew where they go as Y/N stare at her suspiciously. She aquires them to head into Dimensional Drift for their doom as she always says. But they easily managed to defeat those Darkmess creatures and came back to Madame, which surprised her as she never expected them to survive from battle. She then told them good job as the heroes left without a single scratch on them. Next thing they did was helping the Rabbid named Victor to catch four or more of those Sillyfishes and place them in the fountain, which earned them more coins. Then, they encountered a magenta Spark levitated by a purple balloon, who's by the lake where the ship is.

"I was playing hide n' seek with my penguin friends when I got bored and decided to play pirate instead. The only problem is, they're still hiding. Can you find my three penguin friends? They'll be near the lake. When you find one, throw them on the ship so we can get started on our pirate adventure. Olly olly oxen free, matey!"

It didn't take long for them to find the three penguins as one was high on the snowy hill near the lake as the Spark told them they would be, another was hiding in the tree, and the third was hiding behind the ice cube before tossing them all onto the ship. The penguins and the magenta balloon Spark were happy to have found each other when it quickly died down to feel the ship shaking. They look down to see the lake turning black, which made the heroes come to conclusion that it's the Darkmess. They quickly go into it, taking them to another dimension where they see Darkmess Eyes. Luckily, there was only three of them, but they have to deal with the goons of Cursa as they managed to defeat them as well as destroying those eyes. The lake then turned back to original blue as the penguins and the magenta balloon Spark are happy once again. The magenta balloon Spark smiles at them before flying over to the heroes.

"The penguins aren't super happy I stopped playing hide n' seek without telling. I got voted out as captain. Think I could go with you, adventure buddies? We don't HAVE to give each other pirate names, that's just for fun."

"Sure. We'd love to have you join us er..."

"The name's Regenesis! Nice to meet you all!"

"Same to you."

The next mission they did was saving the two Toads that are trapped in the Darkmess Puddle, the other is fighting more Darkmess goons, and even found another Spark, which is a purple Spark that rides a purple leaf named Vampdash from the secret zone. After that, they've encounter a crazy Rabbid scientist, who's been alone, named Dr. Vent, with his assistant, which is a purple Spark named Zephystar. They had to help Dr. Vent's lab that went wrong in the igloo which turned out to be the Darkmess Puddle that caused all that, much to Zephystar's horror, who was helping them search for a way to fix the doctor's lab. They managed to destroy the Darkmess Gate and were shocked to find out that Dr. Vent went crazy for three days. It would've taken years to get people to go crazy, but sometimes it can be earlier or so. Beep-0 suggested that Zephystar should come with them on an adventure before the doctor sabotage anything in his lab or worse.

They finally made it to the Winter Palace where they noticed the way inside was blocked by the rock. Edge carries Beep-0 and activates a Wave to destroy the ice. Not only did get the door unblocked but freeing a large mustachioed Rabbid. He wears a captain's hat, purple scarf and blue overcoat with yellow epaulets, and he has also an orange mustache. The large Rabbid froze for a moment as he moves his hand to where it was holding onto the knob of the door, blinking before realizing he's free. He quickly tries to open the door by pulling, but it wouldn't budge as he kept on pulling and pulling until he pulled himself away from the door. He started pacing around for a second until he stopped to notice the heroes staring at him. He quickly stands up straight and straighten up his scarf and then place his arms behind his back.

"Great Horn Spoon! The girl! She's still inside the Winter Palace, the poor thing! Hang me for a cheese sniffer's son - I tried to haul her to safety, but I was pushed out, as if by an unseen hand! She's held prisoner by something that grows more dark and twisted by the second, like a Noodle Eel or Tasseled Wobbledegog!"

Y/N looked up to see the Winter Palace is covered with Darkmess, but what caught her eyes was something from the top of the window. She could've sworn she sees a figure of the ghost or something with a hint of blue. Y/N could feel cold, intimidating eyes staring back at her through the window before disappearing. She was about to question who that inside the palace was when Beep-0's voice cut her out of her zone.

"It's a Darkmess Tentacle. We've dealt with them before, Mr. um..." Beep-0 said.

"That's 'CAPTAIN' Orion - acting warden of Pristine Peaks. My friends call me 'Two Nets'. You can call me 'Captain Orion'." Captain Orion said before sighing. "The girl and I docked here when my boat ran out of fuel. I thought it safe as it was all but abandoned. If only..."

"Captain, once we're inside, you need only to follow us to find your friend!" Beep-0 assured.

"Yeah, we'll be able to get her out of the prisoner before you know it, and we'll protect her." Rabbid Y/N said.

"Also - just for the record - that's a 'push door', not a 'pull' - neither here nor there!" he added.

With a push, they now enter the palace. The first thing they did is go upstairs where they can see the Darkmess Puddle blocking the other two stairs and head into the Darkmess. The battle arena is broken up into three sections with tubes connecting them all. A red Spark with pyrokinetic powers that rides a fiery cloud fly over to them.

"Pardon me - just wondering if you've ever faced Sea Stooges before. Their Dash has a Splash Super Effect that'll bounce you, HARD. Afterwards, each time you're hit or dashed again before the turn is over, you'll bounce again! It's called being 'splashed'." he explained. "That's a lot of bouncing. I know, but if you win, I get to leave with you. How's that for motivation?"

To complete this battle, they must defeat twelve enemies. Y/N activates her wings from her necklace and flies up to see what type of enemies they have to deal with. All they had to deal are 6 Sea Stooges and 2 Lone Wolves.

Luigi equip Electroid on and Rabbid Mario with Pyrostar. They quickly cover behind the rock behind the two Sea Stooges, then Luigi activate Electroid and attack them both with his Sharpshooter as it shocked them and defeated them instantly. Following that, Rabbid Mario goes through the tube on the left, then attack the Sea Stooge closest to him as he punch them a couple of times. Rabbid Mario went through the tube on his right with Edge, take cover behind a wall and attack the nearest Sea Stooge. Edge back-up with Luigi and attack both of the Stooges near her. Y/N gesture them to make sure Luigi and Edge are behind cover as she help attack the Sea Stooges.

Seeing the Sea Stooges near Edge, Rabbid Mario dashes them, then punches them before uppercutting them away. Edge looks him surprised as he gives her a wink. Two portals open up near the pipes on both the left and right side of the battlefield. Rabbid Peach shoots three rockets at the first portal while Rabbid Y/N shoots the other portal with her beam pistol.

Luigi did Team Jump helped my Rabbid Mario to close the gap between him and the Lone Wolf. Then dash the wolf and back away far enough for him to shoot an arrow at it. Following that, Edge finish off the Lone Wolf with her Throwing Blade.

Rabbid Mario dashes through the Sea Stooge near him, and finish off the Lone Wolf on top of the nest with his Burn Super Effect since they're weak against it. On the other side of the arena, Luigi dashes through the Sea Stooge with Edge, and finish it off. Edge goes through the tube and assist Rabbid Mario, much to his delight.

Y/N and the others made sure the portals are destroyed as soon as they noticed more of them appears. All that's left to do is eliminate the remaining Sea Stooges as Rabbid Mario and Edge work together. While fighting them, they made sure not to let them get close, and once they've defeated amount of them, their mission is completed once again.

When they return back to Winter Palace, the stairs are no longer blocked, giving them advantage to enter through the main door. This led them to a ballroom as Beep-0 looks over.

"Ah! This must be the ballroom. Imagine all the lively waltzes, polkas, and fox-trots that took place here!"

"Yeah, wow - pretty crazy." Rabbid Peach said.

"Of course, no ballroom is complete without an elaborate locking mechanism to the upper floor, like so."

Beep-0 analyzes the two Rabbid statues.

"Divas often locked themselves behind doors like these, so ballroom architects devised ways to unlock them using switches. There are two other doors as well! Let's find out where they lead - maybe we'll find a book on ballroom etiquette!"

They walk down the stairs and approach the statues as they look at the first one. Captain Orion begins to explain about them.

"Lady Vanesia - the former regent of Pristine Peaks. Legend says that after trying her first pumpkin spice latte at Palette Prime, she vowed to remain there in exile, forever."

"Well, at least she has a good reason to live there." Rabbid Y/N commented.

"What about the other one?" Y/N asked, pointing at the second statue.

"That's Lord Magnesio, previous tenant of this here palace. He jumped ship for Beacon Beach when he discovered they had SIX popsicle flavors instead of only three, as they do here."

"Huh."

They enter the room on the left side as they find themselves in a sudden cold as the floor is covered with mists. They look around cautiously when they heard something behind them. They turned to see a blue flame-like haired female Rabbid with the appearance of a ghost, with a frilly dress, rising from the mist below and giggles at them. She comes at them with a hiss, scaring them before giving them a wink and flying off. Everyone was shocked at what they just saw.

"Great Horn Spoon! I'll be barrel-boiled in jellied goatfish! It's the Ghost of Winter Palace!" Captain Orion exclaimed.

"Not a ghost. That's one a' Cursa's Spark Hunters." Edge said, glaring at where she had gone.

It took them a while for them to activate two of the statues as soon as both are matched up, the door in the ballroom floor is unlocked. They head inside to see the same female Rabbid ghost from up the stairs as she smiles at them. She brings out a ball of yarn with two knitting needles. Captain Orion's eyes widen in recognition. She then closes her hand into a fist, causing the strings of yarn to fall out along with the knitting needles. Captain Orion gasps in horror. The Rabbid ghost girl fake gasps at the damage she did before giggling maniacally and bringing out her paper fan to fan herself and disappearing into a puff of smoke.

"Great Horn Spoon! It's the girl's knitwork! She's never without it! Double time - up the stairs!"

"Let's go." urged Y/N.

The heroes nodded and ran up the stairs to the library where they see the Rabbid ghost girl waiting for them, fanning herself. There behind her is the Darkmess Tentacle in the middle of the library. She flies up high in the air then dives down before floating just a few feet above them. Edge glares and marches up to the Rabbid ghost girl, who looks surprised to see her. As she walks by, the group looks at Edge confused and concerned. Edge then stops as soon as she's in front of the group and crosses her arms. Everyone except Edge got on guard when the ghost Rabbid girl flies up to her. She giggles at Edge, who smirks a little, and waves at her and stops in front of her as if telling her if she's coming here to help her. But what shocked her is the reply she gets was a shake on the head from Edge as if telling her she's not willing to help her but the opposite. Her eyes widen for a moment and then huff in disappointment and turn her head away. Edge smirks with a huff.

Y/N wonders what's Edge's relationship with the Rabbid ghost girl, seeing that she knows her and that there's history between them. Her wonder is gladly answered as the Rabbid ghost girl says her name in a mocking tone.

"Edge... you're here. I knew you would show yourself. Eventually."

"Let the girl go, Midnite. Ride with us. It's the smart play and you know it." Edge said firmly.

Midnite looks at the group before looking back to Edge.

"Are these your new friends? Maybe I should warn them. After all, WE were friends once. Perhaps we still are?"

Everyone was shocked at the secret that was just revealed about Edge.

"Friends? Friends how?" Beep-0 asked as if reading their minds of what they're about to say.

Edge pinches the bridge of her nose, looking like she doesn't have time to explain.

"Enough talk."

Hearing Midnite friends with Edge already made Rabbid Y/N jealous that she wasn't her first friend to make.

"Aw... But you just got here - and we're just getting to the fun part." Midnite cooed.

"What fun part?" Rabbid Y/N asked, glaring at her.

Midnite backs away for a moment closer to the Darkmess Tentacle.

"Honest, I couldn't make the girl, or the big guy leave if I wanted to. See, real friends don't just up and ghost you, Edge... real friends stick around."

With those words, she dives into the Darkmess Tentacle and disappears.

"Poisonous snake! She's vanished inside that Barrel-Eyed Snaffle Kraken!" Captain Orion scowled.

"'Darkmess Tentacle'. I'm pretty sure we mentioned it before." Beep-0 corrected him.

"Hold on, girl!"

The heroes quickly go into the Darkmess Tentacle.

Meanwhile, in the floating library full of night sky, a female Rabbid was flipping through pages that have pictures of the stars being aligned until she closed the book and tossed it up to the top of the stack full of books. She pulls out another book and turns the page only to see pictures of dishes and food until she grew bored and closed the book. It revealed a Rabbid version of Rosalina as she's wearing her cyan dress and having platinum blonde hair with a silver crown. Next to her is a yellow Spark plush with green and purple edges.

Rabbid Rosalina blew raspberry a little, blowing out the strand of her hair and lean her cheek against her hand, looking bored and tired.

A few inches away from her was a big muscled Rabbid version of Bowser.

He has spiky red hair with yellow horns, black wristbands and armbands with grey spikes, and a spiked green shell on his back almost like he's wearing a backpack as the straps are attached to his shoulders. He was pacing around, looking impatient as he grumbles along the way like he's trying to think of something.

Suddenly, they heard a clear throat and went over to see Captain Orion and the heroes. Rabbid Bowser was surprised to see them but what surprised him the most is Rabbid Y/N. Rabbid Y/N noticed him and the two stare at each other. She tilted her head at him, studying him. Rabbid Bowser tilted his head, studying her as well. Rabbid Y/N tilted her head again and he did the same. Their eyes sparkled with a hint of the rainbow. She eventually tilted her head straight and shook her head from whatever trance they have. Rabbid Bowser though kept staring at her to the point his eyes turned into a heart-shaped one's.

Y/N noticed that and smiled amusingly, feeling a sense of deja vu between herself and Bowser while recognizing Rabbid Bowser due to his appearance as well as Rabbid Rosalina. Rabbid Bowser noticed Y/N and could feel himself being on cloud nine already. He then sees Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Luigi as they wave at him, which snapped him out of his loving trance and growled angrily at them, already not liking them.

Captain Orion smiles and waves, relieved to see Rabbid Rosalina okay as he had a slight tear coming out of his eye. Rabbid Rosalina was confused and gave him a shrug as if questioning him. Captain Orion runs across the room towards the stairs as he was about to approach Rabbid Rosalina when something trapped him. He found himself some sort of ball like prison. He tries to break out as he struggles to push through. Rabbid Rosalina looks shocked and then gets annoyed to see him trapped. Midnite appears besides Captain Orion. He growls and tries to attack her through the bar only for her to go to the other side of his prison and then smack it down, causing the ball like prison to spin up high in the sky before stopping, leaving Captain Orion stuck up there. Midnite giggles and covers her mouth with a paper fan.

"Oh, man..." Rabbid Rosalina sighed in frustration.

She brings out her Spark plush and pulls the string from the back, revealing a cannon in its mouth.

Rabbid Bowser growls and brings out his Sci-fi Hammer and places it on his shoulder.

The goal of this battle is to defeat Midnite. Y/N looks around to see Midnite in the middle of the library area with 5 Squashers, 2 Bob-ombs, and 2 Flamin' Stooges on each side. She glances at Rabbid Rosalina before calling.

"Ethering."

Ethering comes in view and looks at her.

"Help her. You know what to do when she needs you."

Ethering salutes her and flies next to Rabbid Rosalina, who looks surprised.

"Rabbid Rosalina, right?"

"Yeah..."

"I need you to help me defeat Midnite. While the rest deal with those goons. You think you can do that?" Y/N asked as she equipped Vampdash.

"Ugh... I was gonna read..." Rabbid Rosalina whined.

"You can read after we defeat Midnite and free Captain Orion." Y/N said softly.

"Alright..."

Before starting this fight, Mario equip the Electroid Spark, Pyrogeddon on Rabbid Y/N, Pyrostar on Rabbid Bowser, and Twinkle on Princess Peach.

With Rabbid Bowser and Rabbid Y/N, they dash through Team Jump to the Bob-omb on both sides, dash through it, throw it at the Squasher, then finish it off with their main attack. Rabbid Bowser gives her a wink as he flexes his muscles, making her raise her eyebrow.

Mario gets close to the stairs as he can, and with Peach, they attack any nearby enemies. Meanwhile, Y/N and Rabbid Rosalina were just about to head towards where Midnite is, only to find her gone. Odd. Rabbid Rosalina turns and immediately turns invisible by Ethering.

"Look out!"

Y/N turns and manages to dodge on time as Midnite throws powers at her with her hands glowing. She tries to punch her when Y/N backflips away and quickly blocks her attack with her shield she made from the necklace. Midnite growls and manages to tackle her against the table that was nearby and Y/N grabs her wrist before she could land an attack on her face. Rabbid Rosalina, who's still invisible, comes to her rescue as she fired her cannon at Midnite. Midnite yells in pain, giving Y/N an advantage to kick her away with the help of her power.

Midnite went flying on the ground and Y/N jumps up high with her foot raised, ready to kick her when she quickly disappears and teleports to the other side of the library. Rabbid Y/N sees her and activates her spark, dash her and follow it up with an attack as she shoots her a couple of times with her beam pistol. With the others, they defeat as many enemies as they can while making sure to destroy the portal. Rabbid Bowser finishes the blow as he hammers her away, sending her flying as she's back in the middle.

She glares at them and growls with her hair flaring, almost about to burst into fire at any minute. Midnite quickly cools down and flies up above them. She brings out her paper fan, unfans it, and fans it, causing the bookshelves to move on its own.

They found themselves at the bottom with a new layout and different enemies to face. 4 Bob-ombs and 3 Lone Wolves.

Y/N enter the tube with Rabbid Y/N, who activate her Pyrostar and attack Midnite with Y/N's Vampdash, which starts to weaken her. Rabbid Rosalina goes up to the other tube, and attack Midnite again with her cannon. Edge help Team Jump Mario to get to the tube. Once he reach the other side, he use the Electroid Spark and attack Midnite, making her yell in pain. Rabbid Bowser gets close as possible to the fight while the others deal with the goons. Edge helps out as they managed to get close and attack Midnite with their weapon all at once. Rabbid Y/N proceeds to roundhouse kick her as she ram into the bookshelf.

This made Midnite angrier than before as she clenches her fist, breathing in and out heavily. She then lets out an angry yell as her hair bursts out into flames before flying high again and spins around and fans the air again, causing the bookshelves to move again. The place changes from Midnite's power, but that doesn't stop them.

They see 2 Bob-ombs, 2 Lone Wolves, and 4 Squashers. Rabbid Peach heals up everyone with her healing ability before they went back to fighting.

"Hashtag, healing journey!"

Now that everyone is healed, Rabbid Rosalina Team Jump to the tube on the left and dash through the Bob-omb, throw it at the Squasher, and then Rabbid Y/N use her Pyrogeddon Spark near the Squasher and Lone Wolf. Their attack eliminate both of them.

Y/N flies above the bookshelves and looks around for any sign of Midnite when she finds out she's not here. She heard something and glanced over to see a purple blast zooming towards her. Y/N jumps up in time as the blast hits the ground.

"You know what I really hate?" Midnite asked, floating above her.

"When somebody kidnaps your little girl?"

"When somebody doesn't know when to give up."

Midnite blasts her power at her when Y/N flies away from it.

"And I don't like you being friends with Edge."

"Can't she have more than one friend?"

"Not when it comes to heroes like you."

"She has a choice to make. You can too. Why are you even helping Cursa anyway?"

Midnite was surprised for a moment before glaring at her.

"That's none of your business!!"

She starts blasting her rapidly as Y/N blocks them all with a barrier around her before turning it off. She brings out her super move as she points it at her with her hand, blasting rainbow magic at Midnite. Midnite quickly dodges in time as it blasts against the bookshelf.

"Ooh! Cool magic."

Y/N flies up to her level as they're only a few inches apart from each other.

"Not bad, huh?"

"Yeah, but still not in my league."

Midnite disappears into smoke and Y/N gets on guard when she comes up behind her and hits her with her fan. This causes her to fall to the ground and slides against the floor and rams into the bookshelf. Rabbid Y/N sees that and immediately charges at Midnite. She sees her and the two start battling it out for a moment as they fight in mid-air before Rabbid Y/N lands back down.

She whistles to the others to regroup as soon as they just finished off the goons as they close in on Midnite. Rabbid Bowser helps Y/N up as she nods to him in appreciation. Everyone activate their Sparks and once they land their hits all together, Midnite went flying and crashed onto the ground back. The prison like ball floats down and releases Captain Orion.

Captain Orion gets out and immediately runs up to Rabbid Rosalina and hugs her. This surprised her at the sudden contact before smiling sheepishly. Luigi, Peach, and Rabbid Peach watches with awe at the beautiful father and daughter moment. Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Luigi cheers at their victory. Rabbid Mario spits his hand and goes to high five Rabbid Luigi, only to fall to the ground not feeling the contact of their hand as Rabbid Luigi was looking at something ahead.

There standing over Midnite was Edge, Y/N, and Rabbid Y/N. Edge had her sword on her shoulder while Y/N and Rabbid Y/N watches. Midnite looks up to them and hisses. Edge gives her a blank stare before bringing her sword out as if giving her a warning. Midnite's eyes widen to see that she's serious just looking at the blade. She stares at her friend for a moment and grips onto her arm, getting up and flying away from them. Y/N couldn't help but feel sympathy seeing at how close they are as friends. She ponders for a moment before calling one of the Sparks that surprised both Edge and Rabbid Y/N.

"Reflector."

Reflector flies up to her.

"Yes, Miss Y/N?"

"Follow Midnite and protect her. She might need help, but don't get caught by Cursa."

Reflector was surprised.

"Her? But she's a Spark Hunter."

"I know, but I can tell there's some goodness in her. You just need to look deep into her."

"..."

"Do you trust me?"

"Yes. Of course."

"Just be careful and protect Midnite. We'll see each other soon."

Reflector hesitated for a moment before nodding and catching up to Midnite. Edge looks at Y/N.

"Why did you...?"

"You may not admit it, but I can tell you care for her. I may not know about you and your history, though I can see you have a good heart."

Edge was speechless as Y/N pats her on the shoulder before walking away. Rabbid Y/N doesn't know what to see either before smiling a little and followed her. Their mission is completed and Y/N hoped that Midnite will be okay, knowing she had failed her mission to capture the Sparks.
