After being warned of the attack on a nearby village, Mario and Luigi went there to help.

"Come on, Mario!" Luigi called Mario

"*huff* Wait... For me." Mario said tiredly of his last battle. Despiste having won, they both haven't fight in a while which resulted on the damage Mario took.

"Sorry, bro! I forgot that I have a mushroom... Take it!" Luigi spoke while scratching the back of hid head, and threw a Mushroom to Mario. Mario ate it and thumbed up.

"..Thanks!" Mario, feeling better. "Now we can defeat them for sure! Whoever did it."

(A/N: In this universe, normal Mushroom give some life instead of making them bigger, but specials mushrooms work as power-ups.)

When they were near the village, they spotted a destroyed bridge and a river.

"A river? We can swim to the other margin, it's easy!" Luigi said staring at the calm blue waters of the river.

"Wait! I think I can see some bloopers there."

"What do you suggest then?" Luigi said putting his right hand on the chin.

"Hmmm, Look! A half destroyed bridge. I think we can long jump to the other side." Mario suggested, walking backwards to started running to gain speed to do a long jump. When he had enough momentum, he long jumped and managed to reach the other side. "It's your turn now. Hurry up!" He told Luigi and walkd off to the village.

"Wait for me! You got this, Luigi. You can do this." Luigi told himself and tried to do the same but he stooped in the margin because of the fear of falling in the water. However, he started to run again but this time instead of a long jumping, the younger brother tried to do a triple jump and manage to reach the other side as well. "Oh yeah! I'm coming, Mario"

When he arrived at the village, he saw Mario looking up without motion.

"M-mario...?"

"Sh. Look up and be quiet." Luigi looked up and saw a squad of Bowser's ships and some jails. There were guarded by several enemies.

"Oh no! Bowser's ships? Did he kidnap the princess again?" Luigi asked, concerned.

"I don't know but here's the plan: Let's do a surprise attack on them. I see some Bomb-Bombs, many goombas, koopas and some Boomerang Bros. My plan is... we walk slowly to the Bomb-Bombs and we both grab one. Then we throw them into the group of goombas." Mario said pointing to them.

"Hmm, what if we use Fire-Flowers and throw fire at the Bomb-Bombs when they were near to the others. Then we start the front attack." He suggested.

"Hm... Let's keep those powers for when we reach those ships. Are you ready? Let's a do this!"

"Okido-... what's this sound?" Luigi said and then they heard an explosion near them.

"They saw us?? Forget the plan, we need to-"

Another Bullet Bill explode near them and they dispersed. Mario ran to the Boomerang Bros, quickly, drifting away from their attacks. When he was close enough, he jumped and stomped on its face and killing it on the act. When the Boomerang Bro. died he left a Boomerang Flower. It fell on the floor delicately.

"What's this flower...?" The older brother wondered and decided to touch it. When he touched it, he became Boomerang Mario and gaining the ability to throw boomerangs.

"Whoa! I wonder what powers it gives..." He thought out loud and turned back into the backfield the village became.

With that power-up, Mario noticed that he had a boomerang and decided to throw it boomerang at the rest of the enemies. He successfully killed the rest of the Boomerang Bros. and one of them gave him another Boomerang Flower, which he kept for later use. Meanwhile, Luigi was trying to hide but every time he did it a Bullet Bill came and scare him or destroy the place where he was hidden in. Yet, after repeating the process for four times, he spotted a Bomb-Bomb and threw it to the Bullet Bill cannon. The cannon exploded into metal pieces and all the enemies noticed the presence of the plumbers with the explosion.

"Phew, made it." Luigi said relieved but soon realized the battle wasn't over. He saw some Koopas and Goombas running to his position so he ground pound one of the Koopas and entered his shell. With the new ability, Luigi dashed to the Goombas and used the shell to defeat them with one hit, however, because he was inside the shell he couldn't see the surroundings so he smashed on a hall of a house, destroying the shell on the impact. With that, he became dizzy and didn't see the rest of the enemies that were surrounding and ready to attack. 

Mario saw his brother vulnerable and threw the boomerang, managing to defeat the foes.

"Thanks, Bro." Luigi shook his head and thanked Mario for saving him.

"No problem! Now let's go. The ships won't wait for us!" Mario turning to the ships. All the guards had been defeated and it was time to save the imprisoned Toads.

"How can we enter there?"

"Good question... Hm... maybe we can use the anchor the climb up."

After Mario's idea, they rushed to get to the anchors before the ships left with the possible hostages. Although, when Mario was about to grab the anchor, Luigi heard some screams of help and noticed some Toads were still in the jails on the ground.

"Luigi?? Where are you going?!" Mario asked when his brother ran to right instead of going straight to the flying ships. 

"Go without me! I got this!" The green plumber said and Mario nodded continuing to the anchor. Luigi quickly freed them and started to run to Mario, hoping he still had time to get there. A loud echoed on the entire sight and the ships started slowly and increasingly going upwards while Luigi wasn't near them. 

"Come on, Luigi! They're leaving!" Mario screamed.

Not yet giving up hope, he ran the fastest he could and when they were almost leaving Luigi jumped and barely missed the anchor.

"No!" Luigi said sadly, failing to enter in time.

Mario looked at his brother waving from the ground. He closed his fist in anger and started to climb the rest of the anchor, determinated. He entered the interior of the ship where no one seemed to notice the intruder. The place was filled with tons of enemies. Slowly but surely, Mario progress inside of it and advances throughout the rooms with guards in every turn. Surprisingly, there were no Toads or signs of Princess Peach herself. After making sure it had no hostages, he long jumped to the closest ship of the squad, which was close enough to be jumped. On the next ship was a creature similar to a normal Koopa but this one was way bigger.

"Why hello mustachioed man." The creature spoke turning around when he noticed his presence. "Do you remember me?"

"No. But whatever you are, I'm here to defeat you|" Mario said putting his battle pose.

"You fool! How can you not remember me?! I'm Boom-Boom! We have fought before! Ugh!" Boom-Boom beat his left foot on the floor with frustration. " Enough of presentations. It's time for you to perish once and for all." He said

"In your dreams."

(A/N: For those who don't know, Boom-Boom is this annoying guy. At least it was the name in Super Mario Bros. 3)

Boom-Boom started to spin very fast, coming to Mario.  threw is boomerang but the creature was spinning so fast that the boomerang was thrown back to Mario, hurting him and making him lose the power-up. With that attack, the red plumber fall to the ground and Boom-Boom used the moment to grab him and threw him to the mast. Mario got up, quickly, and used his hammer to attack the boss on the head and managed to do it. The monster became dizzy for a while and when he was back to normal start, he to run to Mario. The plumber tried to escape but he was to fast and striked Mario. The plumber used a Fire-Flower that he had kept earlier to attack him back, however, Boom-Boom escaped from every fireball threw by spinning and reflecting them with it. After a dozen fireballs, Mario had an opportunity to do a triple jump and a ground pound on the Boom-Boom, making him fall onto the ground. Confident that the monster was defeated Mario walked away.

"D-don't think you'll defeat me so easily. Come back and let me end you!" He laughed 

"You don't give up, do you? Last warning, after this, is no mercy. You've been warned." Mario said seriously.

"Mercy? Haahahaha. Mercy is for persons like your brother. Talking about him... here's Looyigi? With him or without... you're DOOMED!" He shouted "Lord Bowser will be happy when I deliver the news about your defeat... Bwahahaha!" Boom-Boom's words made Mario mad.

Boom-Boom started to run to Mario once again but the M-guy did a sidekick, escaping the attack and then stomping on him but apparently, that attack didn't hurt Boom-Boom at all. As a result, the monster started to spin but this time he was spinning and throwing fireballs at the same time. Mario couldn't escape from so many fireballs being thrown at the same time so he hid on the mast. Seeing that, Boom-Boom did a (FALCON) punch on the mast to scare Mario.

"What a baby, hiding because he's doomed." He started to laugh "Come here and fight me!" He said angrily.

Mario saw the damage that he did on the mast and got an idea. He started to run away from the mast.

"As you wish. Let's a finish this fight!" Mario jumped above him and ran so Boom-Boom would be facing the slightly destroyed mast. The orange monster dashed to Mario and he backflipped making the monster to hit the mast with full strength. When he hit it, the mast fell on the Boom-Boom's head.

"I-it can't be. D-defeated again... Good l-luck escaping what's about to h-happen next... Bwahaha... Farewell..." He took a remote from his shell and clicked one of the bottoms. With that, the ship started to shake intensively and tiny explosions could be heard from various places on it. It was going to explode with Mario on it.

"W-what?! Ah! What are doing!? You are domming yourself too! What can I do now?" Mario said desperately because he didn't have much of a choice. There weren't many options at that point. The ship was too high up in the sky to be jumped and Mario didn't have any flying power-up to escape.

When he thought there was no way to survive, a familiar voice called for him.

"Mario!- He looked up and saw Luigi flying from the distance. Luigi had wings on the cap and which amazed Mario.

"Luigi!? I'm so glad to see you again! How did you-" Luigi interrupted him.

"There's no time for explanations, take this and do a triple jump to fly!" Luigi said and threw a red box from above. Mario stared at it from a fre second before a major explosion occurred and the ship itself started to fell from the sky. He punched the box and a hat similar to his came out of it. The only difference was that this one had wings on its sides. Afraid for his life, Mario triple jumped and somehow started to fly away from it. Seconds later, another big explosion was heard and the ship exploded in the air.

"Phew... We're safe now..." Mario said, sighing.

"Just in time. Phew... I don't know what could happen if I took any longer."

"Hey Luigi, how did you get this special box?" Mario said while flying now heading to the last ship of the small squad. 

"It's a long story..."
