Where Was Alya?

During Marinette's whole date with Prince Adrien:

Alya was strolling through the palace, admiring the many shiny things that were in it. She was wondering whether or not to take some of these precious treasures, but she remembered that they had Tikki who had magic that made them super rich. She also remembered that Tikki mentioned that they had their own magic that she trusted them with. While pondering what exactly this magic was, hoping that it's not just getting a fancy new outfit, her thoughts were interrupted by someone.

"Well, hello," Nino greeted with a friendly tone.

Alya jumped then quickly composed herself, trying to act natural, "Oh! Uh, hi there!"

"What are you doing?"

"Uh, me? I'm uh, I'm…" she looked behind her and noticed the shiny trinkets decorating the room. "I'm admiring the palace! I happen to be an expert in admiring palaces. This is a very beautiful palace."

"Well, this palace must be nothing compared to Princess Ladybug's, judging to all the things you guys brought."

"Huh? Oh yeah! That is true, there's no palace like Ladybug's. This palace is still very cool, even with the very high standards of beauty I'm surrounded by back home."

"Must be beautiful back home, wherever that is," Nino remembered something, "Say, where exactly is home?"

Alya started panicking internally, "Home? Uh, well it's…" she got an idea to evade the question, "Hey, wait! I never got your name."

Nino widened is eyes in shock, and exclaimed, "Shoot!" he put his hand behind his head in embarrassment and then composed himself, "Where are my manners? Sorry, I'm Nino."

Alya giggled, not at his name but at how cute he was. She replied, "Nice to meet you, Nino, I'm Rena."

"Yeah, I know," Alya looked at him curiously, "I mean, I heard you being introduced to the sultan and Ladybug saying your name and the whole…" he looked at her hopelessly, "This is getting ridiculous, isn't it?"

Alya chuckled and replied, "Kind of," Nino frowned and looked down, but Alya put her hand on his face and made him look at her, as she continued, "But I like it."

She released him and smiled at him. He smiled back sheepishly and asked after a few seconds of silence, "Sooo, would you like me to give you a tour of the palace?"

"Like as in a date?" Alya asked with a playful smile on her face.

"What? No! I mean, if you don't mind, I mean, why would you think that?! But maybe, I mean…!"

Alya laughed again as she hooked her arm in his and said, "I would love to."

Nino smiled in victory as he lead her to places in the palace. He made a pretty good tour guide, showing her some of the things in the palace, giving her the history, or what he remembered of the history, and told her a few stories about him and Prince Adrien getting themselves into trouble and things. The two also shared some information about themselves and was surprised with how much they had in common.

Nino led Alya to the palace gardens, the other part of the garden not where she, Marinette, Tikki and Wayzz were earlier, and the tour turned into more of an actual date. They were very comfortable around each other now, telling each other more about themselves. Alya really started to like Nino, like as in really like him, and she started feeling bad with lying to him. They took a seat in the garden on a marble bench.

Nino noticed that Alya wasn't herself at that moment, so he asked her, "Hey, is there something bothering you?"

Breaking out of her trance, Alya shook her head, put on a smile and replied, "No, I'm okay."

Nino wasn't so easily convinced. "You know if there's a problem you can tell me, right?"

"Why do you care so much?" Alya snapped. "I'm not that special."

Nino was quite shocked at her harsh reply, but he smiled comfortingly at her and gently made her look at him. "Of course you're special. You are to me."

"Really?"

"Definitely."

Alya has never felt more important. In her life, she learned not to bother people with her problems and has grown into keeping her problems to herself. Sure she had Marinette, she was the only one she could ever talk to, but this was different somehow. It was like she found that someone she could share everything with. She couldn't hold in her emotions any longer, she burst out into tears and Nino immediately hugged her to comfort her. "I'm so sorry!" she sobbed.

"No no! It's okay, this type of thing can be overwhelming sometimes," Nino comforted, Not entirely sure what it was she was crying about.

"No, I'm sorry for letting you believe a lie," Alya sat up and looked at him while wiping away her tears.

"O-kay, now I'm confused."

Alya took a deep breath and started to explain, "I'm not actually a handmaiden or advisor to a princess, I'm a… street rat. My name's not Rena, it's Alya."

Of course, Nino was surprised. "Wait, then why are you with a princess if you're not a handmaiden to a princess? I don't understand."

"It's actually a long and pretty bizarre story. You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Nino crossed his legs, leaned back and said with a smile, "I've got time."

Alya smiled and was relieved that he was willing to listen. She told him the whole story, starting in the market place where she and Marinette rescued Adrien. It took some time to explain the whole genie thing, but Nino kept up as best as he could. She of course mentioned the huge crush on Prince Adrien Marinette had.

"You must swear that you won't tell a soul! Especially not Marinette and Adrien!" Alya commanded after she finished telling the story.

Nino nodded, still processing the information, then replied, "Alright, I swear that I won't tell anyone about this and that I won't mention anything to Adrien or Ladybug-- I mean Marinette. Thanks for telling me."

"I couldn't possibly keep secrets from the one I love."

Nino was taken aback at her declaration. He faced her and saw that she was smiling. He couldn't help but smile as the distance between the two of them started closing. They slowly closed their eyes the closer they got and made ready for impact. However before they could kiss, Alya heard Marinette call out her name. She quickly tensed up and sat up straight. It sounded like Marinette was in deep trouble. Nino was still waiting for the kiss. "I'm sorry, Nino," Alya said in despair and Nino opened his eyes, still all puckered up. "I have to go."

"Oh, uh, alright then," he said rather disappointed. Alya quickly got up from the seat and before she rushed away she pecked him in the lips. Nino smiled stupidly and watched as she left.

lya rushed to the place she left Marinette and when she got there she was in shock. She saw that Wayzz was tied around the tree and without a second thought she ran over and untied him. He flew around and stopped in front of Alya, sort of thanking her for freeing him.

"What happened, Wayzz? Where's Marinette?"

Wayzz moved around and made some gestures which kind of looked like he was playing shrades. He moved his tassels to try and form pigtails and imitated Marinette's clumsiness.

"Marinette!"

Wayzz nodded and then stood up straight and tried to make himself look sinister while pretending to hold a staff.

"A wizard?"

Wayzz shook his head (or where it should be) and started walking around, he looked at Alya and jerked his head up as if he said "hmph" and shook his tassel at her.

"Lila!"

Wayzz did a somersault. He then curled his back and used a stick as a sword.

"Caveman?"

Wayzz moved the stick like a sword.

"Guards!"

Wayzz made like his hands were cuffed behind his back and dragged himself away.

"Lila got the guards to kidnap Marinette?!"

Wayzz nodded hurriedly.

"Do you know where they went?"

Wayzz shook his head sadly.

Alya looked panicked, but then asked, "Did Marinette at least have the lamp?"

Wayzz thought for a bit and then nodded excitedly.

Alya was still worried, but she calmed down a bit and answered, "Let's hope Tikki will be able get her out of this."
