At The Palace
"I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO INSULTED!" The princess shouted.
"Princess Kagami?" Sultan Gabriel asked, "You're not leaving so soon, are you?"
He was a rather tall man, with white hair, thin body build and he had a face that looked as if there was no emotion at all. He wore a purple suit with black shoulder pads, greyish turban and mask, black gloves and he wore a butterfly shaped brooch. He wore the mask as a symbol of royalty. It was said that the Sultans of Agrabah wear a mask to shield their royalty from their subjects that came to see them.
"That prince of yours!" Princess Kagami shouted again, storming out of the castle.
"Now, I'm sure there must've been a misunderstanding," the Sultan said trying to calm Kagami down.
"Good luck marrying him off!" Sultan Gabriel finally saw why she was so upset. Princess Kagami's dress had a large tear in it, which made a hole that made her underwear show. Of course she'll be upset, that dress must've cost a fortune! Princess Kagami slammed the doors on her way out.
Sultan Gabriel sighed in defeat. "Adrien!" He said angrily.
The Sultan walked to the back of the castle heading towards the palace gardens.
"Adrien! Adrien!" He called. "Adri-" he was interrupted by the growling of Prince Adrien's black panther, Plagg. He was pitch black with electric green eyes and he had a piece of Princess Kagami's dress in his mouth.
"Confound it, Plagg!" The Sultan shouted as he tried to pull the piece of fabric out of Plagg's mouth. The piece tore leaving Plagg with one half and Sultan Gabriel with the other half.
"So this is why Princess Kagami stormed out!" Sultan Gabriel exclaimed at Prince Adrien.
"I am so sorry, your Highness," Prince Adrien's servant, Nino, apologized while he bowed. Nino had dark skin, brown eyes, short, dark hair and he wore glasses, a blue shirt and pants and red cap. He wasn't exactly in the best shape, but he wasn't fat either. "I really tried to stop him, but his majesty did not listen to reason."
"Enough!" Sultan Gabriel said. "Do you know how much this fabric is worth?" He asked Prince Adrien.
"Oh, Father," Adrien said smiling, "Plagg was just playing, and Nino really did try to stop him so please don't blame him," Prince Adrien wore a black suit with gloves and dark silver shoes and he wore a black mask which brought out his green eyes and made his perfect blonde hair look lighter. Adrien turned to Plagg, "Right Plagg? You were just playing with that overdressed, self-absorbed Princess Kagami, weren't you?" The Sultan signalled that Nino should leave and he did so. Sultan Gabriel went to talk to his son alone.
Prince Adrien and his dad were alone in the garden and his dad spoke, "Adrien, you can't keep turning down every princess that walks into our kingdom, the law says that you…"
"… must be married to a princess." Adrien finished and they both walked over to the dove cage.
"By your next birthday," Gabriel really finished.
Adrien turned to his father, "The law is wrong!"
"You only have three days!" the Sultan said ignoring what his son said.
"Father, I hate being forced into this." Adrien took out a dove from the cage and played with it.
"Mother always said that I should marry for love."
"Unfortunately, your mother isn't here." Queen Emilie died from a strange sickness one year prior.
Adrien went to sit down at the fountain after his father put the dove back into the cage. Plagg came to comfort the prince. It wasn't easy losing his mother, and it wasn't easy for his father either. Gabriel sighed and tried a calmer approach.
"Adrien, I understand that you miss your mother, I do too. It's not just this law, the truth is I won't be here forever. I want to make sure you won't be alone."
"Still, I don't want to be forced to marry someone I don't even know! I've never done a thing on my own, I've never left the palace, I've never had any real friends except for Plagg and Nino!"
"But you are a prince!"
"Then maybe I don't want to be a prince!"
Gabriel got frustrated. Every thing he had to say, Adrien had something else to say. Gabriel made an irritated moan and he said, "Allah forbid you should have any sons!" This made Plagg a little confused. The Sultan walked back into the palace.

Adrien went back to the dove cage set all the doves free and watched as they flew off.
"So, that went well," Nino came back after the Sultan left. He went over to Adrien and gave him a fist bump.
"Tell me about it," Adrien said as Nino took a seat next to him. "I can't go on like this Nino. All these princesses are exactly the same, and Princess Kagami was definitely not my type."
"Yeah dude, like even I can see that these princesses don't have a personality of their own and I'm not even royal!"
"Yeah, but my dad is probably going to arrange for another princess suitor. I still don't understand why I can't go out there and be a suitor myself like a normal prince."
Nino shrugged and Plagg came over to Adrien again. Adrien smiled. "You guys are the only ones who understand me."

Meanwhile in the palace, Sultan Gabriel was venting out his frustration by talking to himself. "Oh, Adrien! Why does he have to be so difficult? His mother wasn't so picky!" Gabriel then calmed down and looked at a portrait of his family. He looked at his wife, who had blonde hair and green eyes like Adrien and in the portrait she was wearing a deep blue dress with peacock feathers and a dark blue and purple mask. "If only you were here Emilie, you would know what to do."
Just then, another lady came in the room and asked, "Trouble with the young prince again, your Highness?"
The Sultan got a fright, but recovered quickly as he recognized the lady. "Lila- my trusted advisor- I am in desperate need of your wisdom!" It was the same lady with the grand Arabian dress and snake staff from the desert. She looked exactly the same, except she was smiling. Her parrot, Chris, was still perched on her shoulder.
"My life is but to serve you, my lord." Lila said while bowing.
"It's this suitor business," the Sultan began, "Adrien refuses to choose a wife. I'm at my wit's-end."
"Awk, wit's-end," squawked Chris.
"Oh, I suppose you want some of the cheese Plagg loves so much," the Sultan reached into his pocket, Chris looking terrified, and stuffed a piece of Camembert cheese in Chris's mouth.
Chris is disgusted as he tries to eat the cheese and glares at Lila when she laughed and said, "Your majesty certainly has a way with dumb animals."
"Yes, good thing Plagg is occupied at the moment." the Sultan smiled a bit.
"Perhaps I can divine a solution to this problem. However, it will require the use of the mystic pendant."
The Sultan looked at his brooch and hesitated. "My brooch? It's been in the family for years, I can't possibly- -"
Lila brings her staff out and holds it towards the sultan, the snake eyes of the staff staring into the sultan's eyes. "The prince needs to find a princess," she started and the eyes of her snake staff glowed, hypnotizing the sultan. "Don't worry, everything will be fine."
The Sultan, in a trance, repeats what she says and hands over his butterfly shaped brooch. "Everything… will be… fine."
Lila left the room and headed through a door leading down another corridor. Lila pulls a rope at the end of the corridor which then revealed a secret passage way and they entered. Chris spits out the cheese that he held in his mouth the whole time and finally vented out in anger, "I can't take it anymore! If I gotta choke down one more slice of moldy, disgusting cheese. Bam! Whack!"
Lila's smile disappeared from her face when she left Gabriel in the room. She started talking to Chris. "Calm down, Chris. Soon I'll be Sultan and not that old idiot."
"Then I'll stuff cheese down his throat!" Chris gave an evil laugh.

Later at night, Adrien, disguised in some of his oldest and most plain clothes, was in the garden making his way to the tallest tree next to the palace wall. He was going to run away. Plagg tugs him from behind and Nino comes along still wearing his work clothes.
"Dude! What are you doing?" Nino freaked out. If Adrien disappeared under his watch, he would be in the dungeons for the rest of his life.
"I'm sorry guys," Adrien apologised. "I told you I can't take it here anymore."
"Yeah, but I didn't think you were serious!" Nino whispered loudly.
"You should realize that I can't stay and have my life lived for me, I have to 'live a little'. Like you always say Nino."
Nino calmed down. He smiled and realized that Adrien needed this.
"Alright, just don't forget about me, bro." Nino gave Adrien another fist bump and Adrien hugged Plagg.
"I'll miss you guys," Adrien climbed the tree with ease and kind of looked like a professional gymnist, probably because of one of many of the classes he gets in the palace. "Goodbye guys."
Adrien disappeared and so did Nino, except Nino ran as fast as he could back to his room so that he wouldn't get into trouble with the Sultan.
