Thomas felt like he should have started screaming when the pod took off into the air, but as it breached the clouds and began to very swiftly head west, he thought against it.
What's the point of screaming if no one can hear it?
He sunk back into his seat, watching the fluffy white clouds roll by, an oddly serene look on his face as he recalled the Soldiers last words to him.
"I'm sending you to Tony. Find the Avengers tower, trust no one until you arrive!"
Who was Tony? He searched his mind for the name, but came up with nothing.
His thoughts were often like this, scattered, blurred, as if they were just out of his grasp.
All he could remember was the smell of iron, and apologies that were blanked out to just murmurings.
Was that Tony? Maybe so.. He thought a bit harder until his pod gave a jolt, a flash of lighting coming in front of his pod's window.
When did it get so cloudy?! He covered his ears with a yelp as another burst of thunder made his eardrums tremble.
"Don't blast the pod out of the sky, Thor!" A cracked voice came through the speakers, a twinge of familiarity ringing in his ears.
"D...Daddy?" He whispered, his voice going through the speakers, met with a chilling voice, his father.
"T-Thomas? Thomas, baby, are you still there?!" He called, his voice sounding almost desperately, his voice cracking.
"Y-yeah!" Thomas answered, shaking a little as he grabbed the communicator piece, a screen blinking to life before a face of worry met his, the face soon turned to confusion and then to joy.
"Thomas! Oh my god.. Baby, where are you right now?" He asked, "are you hurt?! Did Hydra hurt you?"
Thomas shook his head quickly, tears clung to his pure white eyelashes, this was his father!
His eyes widened as the ground began to rush towards him, he pressed his hands on the glass, as if to stop the impact, but as the ground rushed forward, ready to swallow him up, he felt a tug at his brain.
'Please,' he begged, 'save me!'
After a moment, the pod crashed into the ground, but didn't explode into pieces as he thought it would.
Tony was yelling through the communicator now, but Thomas wasn't listening. His eyes were focused on the pulsating blue light lining the pod, glimmering for a moment as he looked down to his chest, seeing the illuminated oval in his chest.
He thought back to the scepter, familiarity rushing through his veins.
They had put Loki's scepter inside of him in replace for his heart.
His hands began to shake as he reached for the communicator, tears freely falling down his cheeks.
"D..Daddy..." He sobbed, "help me!" Tony's voice came out in garbled words as Thomas felt his vision start to swim.
He dropped the communicator and bowed his head, fainting as the pulsating blue light around his pod began to fade, only being awake as the pod door was ripped open, and metal arms scooped him up, then he was gone.
