The Storm

I'm so sorry, but I'm running out of Ideas.

Marinette was awakened by the booming thunder outside. The disadvantage of having a hatch that leads outside is that the sound doesn't get muffled at all. Marinette rose up, and the gleam of an Ipad hurt her adjusting eyes. She had fallen asleep doing her homework. Again. She quickly shut off the Ipad, and started to head up the ladder to her room. But, as she began to climb, the ladder felt awfully cold, or wet. She then noticed the stream of water, leaking through her trap door, soaking her bed.

"Oh, nonononononono!" Marinette started freaking out as she pushed into her mattress, watching as a pool of water formed around her hand. This had never happened before, and she was completely dumbfounded on what she should do.    She ran down the ladder, threw open her cabinet, and grabbed a bunch of towels. She layed two flat across her bed, and bunched the others roughly into a bowl shape, hoping to keep the water from soaking her room. As she was doing this, and she didn't know if the lack of sleep did this, but she seemed to hear whining coming from her balcony. Believing it to be the wind playing tricks, she continued to ignore it, no matter how strong or faint it was. As she listened to the storm die down, she believed the whining would stop, yet it only grew.  Something wasn't right; Marinette could feel it. Reluctantly, trying not to mess up her towel bowl, she climbed up into the screaming rain.

The wind howled, pushing her in every direction. As she struggled to scan the city, she noticed a shivering black figure, clinging onto the railway. She attempted to identify the object, when two small pleading green eyes appeared, staring at her, begging for help. It was a kitten, a small, helpless kitten, clinging on for dear life. It seemed to be loosing strength as the wind and the rain  fought to push it off. But Marinette fought harder. As she battled to reach the kitten, it's 2 back paws slipped, and they fell back. Soon, the kitten was clinging on by 2 paws. It mewed for help, crying, pleading. Marinette knew it only had a few seconds until it fell to it's death. She lunged, as the kitten let go, stretching her arm as far as possible, grasping on to the kittens hind tail. But as fate would have it, either one fell, or they both would. As Marinette closed her hand around the kitten's tail, she could feel as her legs went over, and cried out, closing her eyes for the awaiting pain.
