Marinette groaned and collapsed onto her bed, her face flushed.

 "Adrien'll think I'm truly crazy now! I can't go back to school, or out in public, or even into the bakery. I'll be a laughing stock! I'll have to hide out up here, isolate myself. I can't ever show myself in public ever again! Tikki!, you'll have to bring me food every night! At least Ladybug can still go out. Maybe I can..."

"Marinette!" Tikki's high pitch voice interrupted Marinette's rambling. "What exactly did you do that is so bad?"

Marinette covered her face with her hands and wailed "I was finally going to confess to Adrien my true feelings, but then I tripped and rolled down the stairs! Everybody was laughing, even Alya! Then, that bastard Chloe called me a klutz, and a chicken! It was so humiliating!"

"Well, that does sound bad, but I bet by tomorrow, every thing will be back to normal. I'm sure Alya didn't mean to laugh, and it's no surprise Chloe said that, she tells everyone that. You'll be fine, Marinette, you just have to stop looking back and keep moving forward!" Tikki stroked Marinette's Pigtail, as she peeked up.

"Thanks, Tikki!"

"No problem, but you better get started on your homework, you have patrol tonight."

"K." Marinette rose from her seat and walked over to her desk, where her bag was. Only, it wasn't there."

"WAHHHH! I ran out of the school so fast, I left my bag!" Marinette wailed. "I've gotta go back and get it!" Marinette whirled and headed towards the trap door.

"But Marinette, isn't the school closed?" Tikki asked, to find Marinette already shut the door. Tikki sighed, and turned to the window, watching Marinette's figure run through the inky darkness of the parisian night.

Marinette blindly ran across the street towards the school. She ran up the stairs to the front of the school, and tugged on the doors. When they didn't open, she started to panic.

"Oh, wait, the back door!" She ran around to the back, but was blinded by the  lightless stairs.

"I hope I can climb up this without falling." One by one, she carefully stepped up, slowly. But then, her foot caught something, and the rest all happened in slow motion. Marinette felt the rush of wind as she fell, the breath escape her as she screamed. She felt pain of bushes as she fell through a holly.  And all she saw black.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chat Noir glided through the night, scanning the gleaming city. He landed on the roof of the school.
"Boy, Ladybug sure is late tonight. It's not like her. Where is she?" he wondered out loud. His thoughts were interrupted by a group of people, led by 2 people, with lanterns and flashlights. They seemed worried, so he jumped down.
"Chat Noir, thank goodness!" A small women called out to him. He recognized her as the mother of Marinette.
"Hello, Mrs. Du-Pain Cheng, is everything alright?" He noticed Mrs. Du-Pain Cheng had been crying.
"It's Marinette, she's missing!" A large man answered. Mr. Du-Pain Cheng. "Please, Chat Noir, can you help?"
"Of course, I'll keep an eye from the sky." Chat answered. "And don't worry, we'll find her." Chat leaped up back onto the school building, and watched as the couple, along with Marinette's friends walked away, calling her name. Chat bounded up and out, and started to search.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Chat collapsed back onto the roof of the school. After hours and hours of searching, everyone had gone back home, leaving him to search alone. He couldn't blame them, though. They needed sleep. He stared up at the sky, gray as the dawn started to approach. He had searched every corner of Paris, asked everyone he saw. No one had any idea where she was. She had simply disappeared. And Chat couldn't help but to think of her. Her midnight hair, bluebell eyes, and her smile. It made him miss her. More then he already had. It also made him more determined to find her. Chat fought through the fatigue that overtook him, struggled onto his pole, and leapt off the back of the school. In mid flight, a wave of fatigue hit him, and he was forced to land on the back stairs of the school. Chat could feel as Plagg's energy started to fade, he would have to quit eventually, but he just wasn't ready. Not yet. Suddenly, Chat caught a whiff of something, something bitter, something metallic.

"Ugh, what is that smell?" he wondered. It smelled almost like....blood! Chat shot up. Blood. Why would he smell blood? Chat followed the smell, to the holly on the side of the stairs. It seemed deformed, disturbed.  Then, he heard it. It was so faint, it could of been mistaken for silence, but he heard it. A groan. Then, he spotted her. A limp body, hidden by the leaves of the holly, but visible. Scratches, all over her skin. Her hair, stained with blood, as were her clothes. Her face, disturbed, pale, yet peaceful.

"Marinette!" Chat jumped into the holly, his leather suit protecting him from the spines. He knelt next to her, picking her limp body up in his arms. Her breath was raspy, weak. She felt cold. She let out a groan, as he shifted his position.

"Don't worry, Princess, I've got you." Chat leapt, over the school, across the street, over the roof tops of Paris, and straight to the hospital.

*ONE WEEK LATER*

"Is anyone home?" Chat poked his head through the window, into the room. Marinette jumped up from her seat, startled.

"Jeez, Chat, you have to stop doing that!" she complained. "Your gonna give me a heart attack!"

She walked over to him, and tugged on his ear playfully.

"I'm just checking on you." Chat said, as he stepped into the room.

"Chat, I'm fine! You've stopped by every night saying the same thing, and the answer is always the same. I'm fine." Marinette joked. "You have to stop worrying, kitty."

Chat stared at her, speechless. Then, he did something, something he couldn't control. He went over, and grabbed her into his arms. Marinette blushed at the sudden hug, speechless.

"I will never stop worrying about you." Chat murmured. "I can't" He listened to Marinette's heartbeat quicken. Then, she wrapped her arms around Chat, embracing the warmness he brings.

"Thank you, Chat." She whispered, and settled into his arms.
