Part Thirty Five - Your Health
There was something she'd always say
But scant attention to it pay.
"You're OK if you've got your health"
But her behaviour's something else.
She'd every illness known to man.
Follow her history if you can.
Diabetes, I think type two
That's what overweight can do.
She's had cancer, not once but twice.
Operations are not nice.
Gall stones, ulcers, vertigo
A longer list than I can know.
She'd love for others, not her self
Seems not to care about her health.
Inhaler one hand, fag in other
Sad, sad picture of my mother.
Cavalier with diabetes
Won't lay off from eating sweeties.
She'd seldom move from out her chair,
Muddle of things surround her there.
I hate to see her hurt herself
So wilfully neglect her health.
Smoke filled room hurts your chest
She won't give cigarettes a rest.
You'd get home have to wash your clothes
The effect on her? Well heaven knows.
Get's to a point it's hard to watch
I don't visit quite as much.
Prepare myself to face the worst
Death comes to us all of course.
We are coming towards the end of Margaret's Story please read on.
