track two.
With Stella now added to the band, Teddy put them through the wringer for months on end to see if they were capable of what he wanted from them.
In that time, Stella bonded with everyone in the band apart from Billy. They had their own bickering relationship going on that everyone found hilarious, even Camila at times.
Even when Teddy said it was time for them to record an album, which happened in six days, the two still found time to argue in between takes and even during takes.
It had gotten so bad that Karen suggested Stella to move in with them so they would be forced to get to know each other better, hopefully making their arguing dissipate since they would be going on tour and would have to share the same proximity.
It helped a little, but the two were still actively pissed at each other whenever one would enter the room. However, that didn't mean that Stella didn't like Camila.
She actually really liked the girl, but just didn't understand what she had saw in Billy; she felt bad for her if she was being honest since she was just too nice to see that Billy was an ass. She especially felt bad when they decided to get married since Billy had gotten her pregnant, meaning that she was basically trapped with him.
✯✯✯
STELLA: I feel like I was the only one who didn't like the circumstances. I mean, don't get me wrong, I wanted to Camila to be happy but I knew Billy would probably just be a dick.
EDDIE: I definitely did not like the situation at all, but Camila seemed happy so... (trails off, glancing away from the camera).
✯✯✯
"Guys, come on, we gotta take a photo. Let's go, just — Come on, get in, get in there. It's your wedding night, come on," Warren, who was definitely on some type of drug, voiced as he tried getting Camila and Billy to pose for a photo and the rest of the band watched.
"Your lens cap is on," Camila giggled, reaching over to take it off for him.
"All right, ready. One, two, and three," Warren counted down before he snapped a photo of the two. He waited a bit for the photo to come out and when he did it, he said, "Oh, shit."
"Let me see," Billy spoke before he reached over, taking the photo from out of Warren's hand. He let out a short laugh, "You didn't even get our faces."
"Thank God. I think the camera would've broke if it tried taking a picture of your face," Stella teased, which made the band laugh as Billy rolled his eyes at her. "But congratulations," she added, mostly for Camila.
"Thank you, Stell Bell," Camila replied, using the nickname the band came up with while partying one night. Well, Eddie had actually been the one to come up with it, along with 'Stell.'
"You're welcome, Cami," Stella grinned.
A little bit later, Stella waited for Eddie to finish his conversation with Camila before going over to him. "So, you excited for the tour?" She asked him, tilting her head to the side before taking a sip of her drink.
Eddie tore his gaze away from Camila's retreating body, which had gone unnoticed by Stella since she had been drinking out of her cup. He quickly cleared his throat. "Yes, very. Just not excited for the part where Billy makes it all about himself," Eddie replied, sucking in a breath.
"Don't worry. If he tries to, I'll just sing a little louder than I'm supposed to," she assured him, nudging his arm with her elbow.
Eddie chuckled softly. "Yeah. Teddy should have just made you the other lead singer. That way, Billy could finally shut up."
"Ugh, I know, right?" She agreed with him before shrugging. "But it's fine. Apparently people don't understand the music I make yet, so I just gotta wait until a man makes the same type of music and for it to get recognized that way. Oh, wait, sorry...I forgot you were a man for a second."
Eddie placed hand to his heart. "Ouch," he replied in a playful manner, making her chuckle. "But no, it's true. If it's any consolation, though, I understood your song."
Her lips upturned. "You've listened to my song?" She asked, surprised since it didn't really sell.
"Yeah. When I saw the name, I recognized it to be you from that night we met so I decided to listen to it. It's really good. I'm honestly surprised it didn't do so well in sales, but like you said, it wasn't created by a man," he described.
"Huh," she hummed, finding what he said to be interesting because men usually didn't realize, or admit, that kind of stuff. "Well, thank you, it means a lot."
He shrugged. "Just telling the truth." He watched as she took another sip of her drink, remembering the lyrics to her song. "How's the boyfriend doing, though?" He decided to query after a moment.
She furrowed her brows. "Boyfriend? What boyfriend?"
"You know, the one you mentioned in your song," he reminded her. "Well, my boyfriends in a band / He plays guitar while I sing Lou Reed," he muttered the song to jog her memory.
"Oh, right," Stella remembered aloud, completely forgetting about Jeff. Even though she had recorded the song and whatnot, they just weren't dating long enough for him to be a significant person in Stella's life apparently. "Yeah, we broke up right before I recorded the song. When Teddy approached me about a record deal, he only wanted me and not the rest of my band, which he had been in. And then when I told him, he got pissed at me and started telling what to do, and that I should wait until another chance arises for the whole band."
"Oh, shit. He sounds like a jackass," Eddie commented, shaking his head.
Stella nodded in agreement before she sighed irritatedly. "You know what makes me really mad? When men think they can boss me around and tell me what to do. And that's exactly what he tried to do, so I ended it right then and there. I honestly haven't thought about him since then until right now."
"Wow. That's pretty badass, honestly," he complimented, which made her let out a short, but sweet, laugh. "I bet he'll definitely regret not supporting you once we start touring and making a name for ourselves."
"I mean, I honestly couldn't care less what he thinks. All I care about is that I succeed in this business and not to let anybody get in my way," she told him before she finished her drink and set it down on the table next to them.
✯✯✯
EDDIE: Most guys would definitely have felt intimidated by her words, but I found them honesty so refreshing (smiles softly). I was sick and tired about people lying and hiding things, but Stella was one of those people that just spoke her mind and didn't care about what other people would think about it. It was dangerous, but also admiring.
✯✯✯
Eddie stared at her intently, taking in her truthful words. "You really want this band to work, don't you?" He assumed.
"Of course I do. I may not like working with Billy, but I like everyone else. And I really do believe that we've done something great," she admitted. "Now, that may or may not be because I joined the band, but..." she teased, holding her hands up as she giggled mischievously.
Eddie laughed along with her, "Oh, shut up."
"Say cheese!" Warren shouted, coming out of nowhere as he pointed a camera at the two of them and snapped a photo.
"Warren!" Stella exclaimed after he took the photo. "I wasn't ready."
"Too late. I don't wanna waste the film," he told her which made her sigh. He waited for the photo to come through and when it did, he handed it to the girl. "Here ya go."
"Thanks," she rolled her eyes playfully before looking down at the photo. It was a candid of she and Eddie laughing with one another. It was actually really nice.
"Hey, at least you got our heads in the photo," Eddie pointed out jokingly as he looked at the photo from over her shoulder.
Warren chuckled happily as Stella continued examining every inch of the photo, a faint smile on her lips.
✯✯✯
STELLA: I think that was the first time I realized that I was actually friends with these people. (smiles sadly). I mean, yes, I had gotten along with most of them, but I thought it was just work relationships. But after seeing the way Eddie and I had been laughing...I started to see that these people would start to become the best relationships that I had (grins softly).
And it wasn't like I was bad at making friends. I was pretty good at it, being the social person that I am. But I tended to put work over friends because I wanted to follow my dreams.
But I had to come to terms with the fact that I'd be spending basically every day with these people because of the tour and I'd form special bonds with them.
Some...more special than others as well (looks at the camera with an unreadable expression).
INTERVIEWER: So, what do you remember about the tour?
STELLA: (awkwardly glances away from the camera) Well, didn't I basically just tell you?
GRAHAM, KAREN, WARREN, AND EDDIE: (pretending to think as they avoid looking at the camera)
BILLY: I, uh...It was-it was a long time ago. I don't...
CAMILA: I remember everything.
✯✯✯
The Six had been touring for months, attracting fans from every part of the country with their music. But one person seemed to be doing the most attracting.
And that had been Billy.
Due to the baby, Camila had to stay back in L.A. so she wouldn't be doing too much. And because of that, apparently Billy felt like he could whatever he wanted even though he had a wife and child on the way.
He had been basically getting wasted after every show and hooking up with multiple women, which was something no one wanted him to do. But, they also didn't know what to say since they knew Billy would just fire back at them with his grumpy self.
The only person that would actually try to say something had been Stella, but Billy never took her scolding to heart since their whole relationship was just scolding and bickering back and forth anyway.
But Stella had enough of Billy's cheating. Camila didn't deserve it, especially since she had been carrying his baby. She dialed her number back home, hoping she would pick before Billy decided to randomly pop in.
"Billy?" Camila answered the phone, Stella hearing the desperate hope in her voice.
"No, it's, uh...it's Stella," Stella told her, clearing her throat.
"Oh," Camila said and Stella could hear the disappointment in voice, but she didn't take it to heart because she knew Camila just wanted to speak to her husband. "How are you, Stell?"
"I'm fine. Um, but Cami..." Stella trailed off, not knowing how to put into words what she was going to say. "I think you should come out here."
"What? Why? Is everything okay?" Camila worriedly asked.
"Yes, everything it's fine it's just that Billy, he's...Just come out here, Camila, please," she told her, not wanting to tell her over the phone that her husband had been cheating on her almost every night.
Stella then heard someone coming into the room so she quickly hung up the phone without saying goodbye, pretending like she hadn't just been on it. "What are you doing?" Billy questioned since he had been the one to come into the room, visibly hungover.
"Nothing. Just...sitting," Stella responded, not looking him in the eye.
"Well, sit somewhere else," he demanded with an annoyed tone.
Stella scoffed at him, but decided to leave anyway since she didn't want him to ask her anymore questions. "Fuck you," she muttered under her breath, leaving the room.
✯✯✯
STELLA: I know that it probably wasn't my place to do that, but I was doing it for Camila. She deserved to know that her husband was a cheating piece of—! (sucks in breath, calming herself down). She just deserved to know.
✯✯✯
A few days after Stella's phone call, she, Eddie, and Graham had been coming back from the store when someone called out, "Hey!"
It was Camila, who now had a big baby bump underneath her clothes.
The three of them immediately stopped walking, glancing over to the van that Billy used to hook up with girls in. And if they remembered correctly, he was definitely in there now. "What?" She queried, noticing their looks.
"Hey, uh..." Eddie trailed off, looking at Stella for help but she didn't know what to say for once in her life.
Camila looked at the van before she began walking over to it, her expression growing angry. "Hey, hey, Camila. Just wait. Just wait! Listen. Listen to me!" Graham shouted, grabbing her to try to stop her from going to the van.
"Get off!" Camila growled furiously, pushing Graham off of her before she went over to the van and opened the door to reveal Billy with two different woman; one had been kissing him and one was about to give him a blow job.
"Shit. Shit!" Billy whisper-shouted once he realized it was his wife who had opened the door on the three of them.
"Who the fuck is that?" One of the girls asked.
"Okay, okay," Billy spoke, trying to buckle his pants.
Camila turned to look at the three of them. "You two been covering for him this whole time? Yeah?" She interrogated the boys only since Stella had been the one who called her. "Fuck you," she pushed Eddie. "Fuck you!" She pushed him again before looking at Stella. "Thanks for the call, Stell," she thanked quietly, about to cry before she began walking towards the motel they had been staying at.
The boys had given Stella a puzzled look at that comment, about to ask her about it before Billy stumbled out of the van. "Cami!" He yelled after her. "What the fuck did you guys do?" He said before he tried running after her, almost falling over multiple times.
"You called her, Stella?" Graham questioned once Billy left.
Stella turned to look at him. "Yeah. I did. I didn't tell her that Billy was cheating, but I told her to come here so she could find out for herself," she admitted, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Look, I don't know if that was a good idea..." Graham told her apprehensively, shaking his head.
"Of course it was a good idea," Eddie defended her. "They have a baby on the way that needs its father. Billy can't keep getting drunk and high every night and hooking up with every other girl he sees. It's disgusting."
"Exactly. Camila needed to know so that Billy would finally grow the fuck up. And if I hadn't called her head, she probably would've found out anyway by the tabloids," Stella added and Eddie nodded, causing Graham to release a sigh.
✯✯✯
STELLA: I knew that Graham knew his brother had been in the wrong, and that he was just defending him because he felt like had to. I couldn't blame him for it (shakes head), especially when Graham obviously looked up to his brother. The only person I was truly mad at was Billy and it had been warranted.
I hate when people hurt the ones they love without any reason to (stares directly into the camera with a meaningful expression).
EDDIE: I mean, it broke my heart, what he did to her. Some people just don't know how lucky they are (realizes what he said)...Well, I guess I could say I became part of those 'some people' after that (purses lips).
