Little Town

"Little town, it's a quiet village Every day like the one before Little town full of little people Waking up to say..." "Bonjour. Bonjour. Bonjour. Bonjour." "There goes the baker with his tray like always The same old bread and rolls to sell Every morning just the same Since the morning that we came To this poor provincial town" "Good morning, Marco" Marco smiled at the man "Good morning, Monsieur Buffrog. Have you lost something again?" he sighed "I believe I have. Problem is, I can't remember what. Well, I'm sure it will  come to me" I chuckled and began to walk off "Where are you off to?" Marco smiled "To return this book to Glossaryck. It's about two lovers in fair Verona" river scoffed with a chuckle "Sounds boring" "Look there he goes That boy is strange, no question" "Dazed and distracted, can't you tell?" "Never part of any crowd'Cause his head's up on some cloud" "No denying he's a funny Boy That Marco" "Bonjour, good day, how is your family?" "Bonjour, good day, how is your wife?" "I need six eggs, That's too expensive" "There must be more than this provincial life" Marco Had arrived at the church/library "Well! If it isn't the only bookworm in town. So where did you run off to this week?" I smiled at Glossaryck "Two cities in Northern Italy. I didn't want to come back" Glossaryck chuckled as he was handed the book "Have you got any new places to go?" Glossaryck shook his head "I'm afraid not. But you may reread any of the old ones that you'd like" Marco smiled and grabbed a book from the shelf "Thank you, Glossaryck. Your library almost makes our small corner of the world feel big" he smiles "Bon voyage Marco" Marco waved goodbye as he left the church/library "Look there he goes The Boy is so peculiar" "I wonder if he's feeling well" "With a dreamy far-off look And his nose stuck in a book What a puzzle to the rest of us Is Marco" "Oh... isn't this amazing? It's my favourite part because you'll see Here's where she meets Prince Charming But she won't discover that it's him 'til chapter three" "Now it's no wonder that his name means"Beauty"His looks have got no parallel" "But behind that fair facade I'm afraid he's rather odd" "Very different from the rest of us" "he's nothing like the rest of us Yes, different from the rest of us is Marco" in the distance looking down at the village was toffee atop a horse  "Look at him, Ludo. My future Husband. Marco is the most beautiful Boy in the village. That makes him the best." ludo cringed "But he's so well-read, and you're so... Athletically inclined." he saved himself at the last moment "I know. Marco can be as argumentative as he is beautiful" "Exactly, who needs her when you've got us!" "Yes, but ever since the war I've been missing something. And he's the only boy I've met who gives me that sense of..." ludo finished in French "Je ne sais quoi?" this means i don't know "I don't know what that means" no shit toffee that's exactly what it means "Right from the moment when I met him,saw him I said he's gorgeous and I fell Here in town there's only he Who is beautiful as me So I'm making plans to woo and marry Marco" "Look there he goes, isn't he dreamy Monsieur Toffee, oh he's so cute Be still my heart I'm hardly breathing He's such a tall, dark, strong and handsome brute" the horse kicks mud on the girls "It's never gonna happen, ladies" ludo smirks and waddles away "Bonjour" "Good day." "Mais Oui!" "You call this bacon?" "What lovely flowers!" "Some cheese..." "...Ten yards!" "...One pound." "'Scuse me!" "I'll get the knife." "Please let me through!" "This bread..." "Those fish... "It's stale!" "They smell!" "There must be more than this provincial life!" "Just watch I'm going to make Marco my wife!" "But he really is a funny boy" "A beauty but a funny boy" "he really is a funny boy that Marco!"

{Marco's Pov}

"good morning Marco! a wonderful book you have there." "oh have you read it?" he chuckled awkwardly "well not that one but you know....books" he suddenly pulled out a bouquet of flowers startling me for a moment "for your dinner table~ shall i join you this evening?" i chuckled "no, not this evening" he smiled patiently "busy?" "no." I smiled awkwardly and walked off with a grimace on my face, as I approached the house I heard the sound of a soft music box as I walked inside I looked in on my father working on his project

"how does a moment last forever?~ how can a story never die?~ it is the love we must hold onto~ never easy but we try~ sometimes our happiness captured~ somehow a time and place stand still~ love lives on inside our hearts~ and always will~"I smiled softly and walked into the room "ah Marco! could you hand me the-" before he could finish I handed him the tool he needed "now could you hand me the-"I picked up the tool and handed it to him "no. no.....actually yes that's exactly what I need thank you" I chuckled and smiled softly at my father as he continued to work ".....am I odd?" he chuckled "odd? my son odd? where would you get an idea like that?" i sighed "you know people talk...." he smiled softly at me "its a small village Marco... small minded as well, but small also means, safe even back in Paris, i knew a girl like you, who was so...ahead of her time. so different. people mocked her." he chuckled "until the day they all found themselves imitating her." "please just tell me one more thing about her..." he paused "your mother was....fearless" I smiled softly as he closed the imitation of our old house

{time skip}

"so what can i bring you from the market?" i smiled "arose like the one in the painting" he laughed "but you ask for that every year!" i smiled wider "and every year you bring it" he chuckled and nodded "then I shall bring you another, you have my word" "my dad, be safe okay?" he nodded "goodbye and don't get yourself into any trouble!" i chuckled "I'll try not to I'll see you tomorrow!" he smiled as he started off "tomorrow, with the rose!" i smiled brightly as he left, I soon went inside and began inventing, today was laundry day! I made a rough sketch of what I wanted to make, did a few tests and began working as soon as I was done I brought everything to the laundry area and let it do its thing while I sat down with a good book "what are you doing?" a small girl asked me confused about my invention "the laundry, why don't you come sit with me and take a break?" she smiled and quickly ran over, I brought out a children's book I had stashed away and opened it, I began to teach her how to read "the blue bird..." "that flies over the dark wood" I smiled "that was amazing!" she smiled brightly at me filling my heart with joy "what on earth are you doing? teaching a girl to read" "we have to do something" not too long over they took the barrel I was washing my clothes in and dumped into the street, I said nothing as I picked up my clothes, thankfully someone helped me pick them up, not long after I angrily walked over to my house "Marco!" great the last person I want to see right now... " I heard you had trouble with the headmaster, he never liked me either" maybe cause you're a jerk, ever thought of that? {A/n eyyyyy nice one Marco} "can I give you a little advice about the villagers though? their never going to trust the change you're trying to bring!" he walked on my lettuce? cabbage? whatever he stepped on my garden! I sighed "all I wanted was to teach a child to read! is that so much to ask?" toffee chuckled "the only children you should concern yourself with are....well...your own" he very clearly gestured to the two of us as if I'm going to have HIS kids HAH! just because of my medical condition don't mean ima have kids with you boi {A/n YEAH YOU GO GURL} I'm male {A/n yeah I know but STILL} yeah anyway "I'm....not ready to have children" I quickly walked behind him and opened the gate to the house "maybe you haven't met the right man or woman!" I chuckled "its a small village toffee I 'v met them all" "well, maybe you should take another look!" he followed me to the front door "some of us have changed!" I sighed "Toffee we could never EVER make each other happy, no one can change....that much" "oh Marco" oh here we go he's going to rant "do you know what happens to spinsters in this village after their fathers die?" he gestured towards star "they beg for scraps, like poor star. this is our world, Marco. for simple folk like us, it doesn't get any better." I glared at him "I might be a farm boy but I am not simple and I'm never going to marry you, toffee. I'm sorry!" I closed the door in his face soon after with a sigh of relief on the other side of the door as soon as he walked away I opened the door "can you imagine? me! the 'wife' of the boorish brainless! UGH!"

"Madame Gaston, Can't you just see it? Madame Gaston His little wife, ugh No, sir! Not me! I guarantee if I want much more than this provincial life! I want adventure in the great wide somewhere I want it more than I can tell And for once it might be grand To have someone understand I want so much more than they've got planned..."
