Title: Earth's Lungs 

Trees have outlived every war

And are as old as Mother Earth

Bearing evolution's every scar

Giving breath for all to share

Not simply for their worth

Trees have outlived every war

They share freely, near and far

Food and shelter for all in life

Bearing evolution's every scar

Diverse as any living thing, they are

stalwart and will remain henceforth

Trees have outlived every war

But if man should neglect to care

The tale will tell with each failed birth

Bearing evolution's every scar

With nothing can a tree compare

Without them there's no going forth
