I am handicapped linguistically. I have tried several times to overcome my deficiency. To no avail. I seem to be so Americanized that I had become monolingual for life. In my younger years, I communicated my needs and desires and converted currency in many countries. I have conducted business with many different industries fulfilling their needs in telephony and data. A task that at times seemed to require a translator to define exactly what the whatamacallit or the thingamajig was. Having made it to my near senior years, I now realize that I am really not as handicapped as I have allowed myself to believe. I am actually bilingual!!! My most valuable language is respect. I speak it quite well. The language of respect spans continents. I haven't traveled internationally as of late, but I am certain that should I have an opportunity that I will be just fine with my two languages.
