Maplepaw was sitting around camp await her warrior ceremony to start, she was happy when Viperstar got off his lazy rump and called a clan meeting.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around to hear my words, we have a new warrior with us today, Maplepaw step forwards, do you Maplepaw promise to uphold the warrior code and protect this clan even at the cost of your own life?" Viperstar called.
"I do," Maplepaw meowed firmly.
"Then by the power of our warrior ancestors I ask them to look down on this apprentice and accept her as a warrior of this clan, Maplepaw from this moment on you shall be known as Mapleclaw, may starclan guid your path," Viperstar called.
"Mapleclaw! Mapleclaw! Mapleclaw!" The clan called, Mapleclaw settled down to start her nightly vigil until dawn. Mapleclaw looked up at the stars and wondered if Reedpaw had gotten his warrior name yet, she gave a sigh and tucked herself up tight as her vigil had only just begun.
