When a monster pet or a regular pet enters someone life, they are destined to protect that person with their lives. Failure means their owners death which results in a life of sorrow and forever disappointment. When a familiar becomes a protector they need to keep their partner health and if they are lucky they can grow beyond their potential. Break their limits, being the beasts they were destined to be. Monsters and pets wear special presents their owners give them to show that they are familiar. Though if those presents are ever destroyed then the familiars will perish.
