Chapter 1: Introductions
Spaceships were trying to land on Earth again. Well, not so much trying to land as hovering in the higher levels of the atmosphere as they tried to send messages down to Earth that no one on Earth could decipher. It didn't help that Vision was off the radar. Tony Stark was not happy. He was supposed to have dinner with Pepper before SHEILD called him in for a meeting, not like he was paying much attention to the boring spiel the agent was giving off that summarized to "There are multiple ships and we think they're threatening us but we don't really know."
Then one of them came down. It was slow and they saw it coming but it wasn't firing so no one was really sure what to do. The messages were getting more clear. It was a girl, short blue hair and irises so black it looked like they were just pupil. It cut out a bit when they first got visual but she kept repeating the same message with different words.
"Asgard has fallen to an attack. Most of the Asgardians were able to survive and Thor, who now reigns as their king, and I am told this is relevant because he was one of your Avengers for a time, decided to bring them to Earth. This is a ship that belongs to a group called "The Guardians of the Galaxy," and they are getting paid to help find them a place to stay on Earth and build a new Asgard, essentially, and I'm told to be the one talking because the captain is the only other human on this ship and Thor doesn't want us to scare you." Eventually Tony can get his own message back up to The Guardians and the nameless girl.
"Hey, yeah we don't really have a place for the Asgardians and there are a bunch of rules now that didn't exist before and we're trying to get his solved as quickly as we can, We got a place here that the ship you're on can land but right now we have higherups to run this through, alright sweetheart?" Tony asks.
"I received your message Tony Stark, from what I hear Gamora is sending a message up to Thor, just tell us where to land, they're ship can't really stay up here for much longer, but I think they don't want to admit to that." She paused. "And the name is Emmaline, don't call me sweetheart."
In the next few minutes, some of the Ironman suits are beginning to guide their ship to a spot on the ground and almost immediately after they land Emmaline is on the ground. She greets the agents informally and by name and explains how the guardians are having a conversation. Those there to greet her explain that they have to turn in their weapons and she laughs.
"Why are you laughing?" One of them asks.
"They won't part with theirs and I can't part with mine." She explains. "Their entire ship is a weapon and the others they keep on their person have sentimental value, getting the ones inside the ship off would take too long, so I'm sorry Mike but that's not happening."
"What about your weapons?" Another in the small group asks. She smiles at them and pulls out a butter knife.
"This is all I have on me, I bet I'm the most dangerous person here." She says laughing as footsteps thud on the ship's ramp. The group looked to see that a group of six people, well one human and five other various alien species, making their way down the ramp.
"Um, mind reminding me why you're here again?" The human of the group asks pointing at Emmaline.
"You had to pilot, Peter, and Thor said to let a human or Asgardian deliver the message as we got in range to send it so we wouldn't surprise them too much, I mean, I think it was more of a 'She seems to take this seriously and she looks harmless' type of thing but I don't think he'll tell me. Since stuff is being sorted out we get the honor of staying and waiting for the multiple governments to sort themselves out. It's probably the biggest undocumented-alien problem Earth has probably ever had." Emmaline answers. One of the agents snorts then tries to cover it up with a cough. "Oh, that reminds me. Are you guys just weapons check or are you leading us somewhere?" She asks looking between the four agents in front of her.
"Leading you guys places is my job, sweetheart," Tony says while landing in his suit near the group.
"You better stop calling me that, I am armed." She says turning towards him as he steps out of the suit. She pulls out her butter knife and points it at him.
"I'm trembling, and I'm assuming you guys are the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' she mentioned?" Tony asked gesturing between the six.
"Yup, just to clarify there are in fact, seven of us, Drax has mastered the ability of standing so still that he is invisible to the eye so might have trouble spotting him but he's there." Emmaline nods looking at the group. Tony looks between them again, counting them, he could see seven of them but decided to let that fact go.
"So, are you two from Earth?" Tony asks pointing between the only human in the group and Emmaline.
"No, I'm from Missouri," Peter answers as Emmaline sighs.
"Yeah, that's on Earth," Tony replies looking at him confusedly.
"Okay, so that is Starlord, real name Peter Quill. Then green with pinkish hair is Gamora, the other girl is Mantis, the walking tree is Groot, or also tree, he currently doesn't care, that is Rocket, and Drax is in the back." Emmaline points to everyone as she says their names. "Guardians, this is Tony Stark, he thinks he's a big deal but he's pretty cool."
"I am a big deal." Tony scoffs.
"Just take us where you're supposed to, Stark," Emmaline smiles as Tony smirks and starts walking off, Emmaline and then the Guardians following not far behind.

"Am I the only one not trusting this 'Emmaline?'" Gamora asks leaning close to Peter once she sees that Emmaline and Tony were having a conversation.
"Well, from what it sounds like she showed up out of no-where and this Thor guy just started trusting her and he decided to send her with us since their ships could be taken as warships. She's a bit sketchy but she has acted like she knows everything that's gonna happen, I guess that's kinda wierd, there are no real reasons not to trust her. It's not like she's trying to get close to anyone and she hasn't tried anything." Peter shrugs. Gamora looks back at the newly met pair in front of them as they talk each other's ears off. The smile on her face looked more real in his presence than any other time Gamora had seen it.
"I guess you're right. If she's lying to anyone I doubt it's about how dangerous she is." Gamora shrugs.
"Probably just a bad past. Bit guarded. She definitely acts like someone I know." Peter elbows Gamora and she moves so she's walking further away from Peter.

Eventually, the mismatched group arrived at their destination, which ended up being a conference room. Tony looked around the sleek white room and at a watch on his wrist.
"We supposed to be meeting someone?" Emmaline asks.
"Yeah, yeah we are." Tony answers looking around before noticing a notification in the corner of his high-tech-sunglasses.
"Another ship approaching. Keep visitors busy."
"You guys came with one bigger ship right?" Tony asked. Looking at them. Peter opened his mouth to say something but Emmaline beat him to the punch.
"And two small ones, this one and the other branches off from the main one. You picking up another?" She asked moving to look out a window.
"Yeah, how'd you know that?" Tony asks. Emmaline continues looking out the window but doesn't answer.
"They need to move. The new ship will take them out." She said simply while turning back to Tony. "Is there a way to get a message up without sending the guardians back up?" Emmaline asked.
"Hold on a minute, what do 'ya mean the new ship will take out the ship? How do you know that?" Rocket asked stepping forward and pointing at her. She stared him down.
"I know who's on it. If you knew and if you were smart you'd want them out of the way, too." Emmaline answered, glancing at Gamora. "You would know pretty well, Gamora." Before anyone could voice their confusion she turned her attention back towards Tony Stark. "Message options, please?"
