Chapter 29
Neil was astounded looking at Samaria who rode a Royal Enfield to his home, wearing a Khaki pant and crisp white shirt. A French braided hairstyle tied neatly with help of her scarf accompanied by that trendy one side ear piece. For the first time after those odious two years Neil felt he was looking at his old Saminder Singh not Samaira Khanna.
'What are you looking at idiot? Hop on.' Samaria Said with her jovial smile.
'Am I seeing right? Is that you Sammy?' He still asked in surprised tone blinking eyes.
Samaira pinched him to hard to which he winced, 'Auch... it hurt.'
'Its needed for an idiot like you. Now don't waist time and let's go.' Her tone was demanding like old days.
Neil smiled as his dimple made him look more charming and he sat behind as she drove toward their destination.
It was a complete surprise for Neil the way Samaria was reviving their old memories, from walking on crowded Juhu beach to feast on roadside foods. Playing cricket with kids, which was Neil's one of favorite hobbies in past. Making pranks and not caring about the consequences. Samaira wanted the day should belong to them, filled with their memories from diaper days to till. She regretted those years in absence of Neil and never wanted to repeat same mistake.
Neil never fancied big things, high decorative dreams. He was a straightforward man who was contented with whatever he got. They both learnt a lot from past mistakes.
They return from their journey after long hours. It was almost ten O'clock in night.
'That was a wonderful ride Sammy.' Neil said jovially while getting off the bike.
'Did you enjoy it?'
'Is that a question even to ask?'
'I am honored your highness.'
'let's sit here for some time.' Samaria said going near the cement bench placed in front of Neil's house.
Neil agreed happily and sat next to her. A moment passed as he looked up to sky and Samaria looking at him. There was a time when Neil's complete focus was on her and might be for that he forgot his own self, his own enjoyment. She looked at him; he seemed contented, full of life and his usual happy go lucky charm made him look more handsome than before. She smiled as she felt blissful seeing him like that. She understood she didn't need anything until he was happy and contented.
She started talking without any hitch, ' Neil, I know there are many things happened between us. We saw many ups and downs.'
Neil turned his focus on her and blinked, 'hmm.' He encouraged her to say further.
'From now I want to be with you in your up and down. I want to support you when you are in low and want to joyful in your happiness. I want your companion forever. Will you allow me?' She completed her heartfelt words what she felt very deeply.
It took less than a minute for Neil to register her words. It was a shocker for him not because Samaira proposed him but he lately made his mind peace with the fact that there could nothing happen in between them and that was better for both.
Samaira got his hesitation for his indecisiveness. She got it later what Neil might have gone through when she ignored him for Arjun. That made a change in Neil and she wasn't complaining.
'No need to be pressurized, idiot. I just spoke my heart. You know I can't hide things from you. It's my emotions, which I can't control. You shouldn't feel burdened by this.' She said in friendly manner with big smile pestered on her face. But her heart knew how hard it was for her.
'I need some time, Sammy.' Neil uttered in response in a low voice. It's evident that there were so many emotions displayed across his face.
Samaira's face seemed brightened on his reply as she rushed to Neil engulfed him in a tight bone-crushing hug, ' Thank you.'
'For what?'
'For everything.'
'You are crazy.' Neil said with a smile while ruffled her hair.
'Now your majesty, go back to your home.' She did a dramatic pose.
'I can't believe you are dropping me.'
'I am twenty first century girl.' Samaria said raising her imaginary collar as she pushed Neil toward his gate.
'okay. Don't push.' He said.
'Goodnight.'
'Drive back safely and call me once you reached.'
'Yes, boss.'
She stood there few minutes after Neil disappeared from her view. She was happy because she thought Neil would reject her downright on her face. However, his answer brought a new hope within her. He still had those feelings for her deep inside which she needed to wait for him patiently.
She dialed her best friend to give the news of night.
In Luxembourg
Arjun came out of his room rubbing his eyes. It seemed his sleep wasn't complete which was true in one way. After his night stunt it took few hours to calm his racing heart and got into sleep. Then he was up, He saw Radhika was all ready to go for her work. He looked at clock and his eyes almost popped out. It was twelve past fifteen. Radhika had her clients meeting at sharp one O'clock. He thought he would accompany her but damn.
'Just wait for ten minutes. I will be ready.' He said in hurry and ready to march towards his suite room.
'For what?' She was little bit muddled with his talk.
'I will accompany you to your meeting.'
'No need.'
'Why?'
Radhika held Arjun's hand and made him sit on couch while she sat in front of him.
'Mr. Mehera just give me one answer to my question.' He nodded his head.
'When you go for your business deal, do you take your friend, acquaintances with you or you take your secretary?'
'Obviously my secretary.'
'That's great. I thought you forget in case.'
'You mean?' He asked getting her cue.
'Yes. Your work and my work are completely different. I hope you understand this and don't bring your man ego here.' She said authoritatively in no nonsense tone.
Arjun got what she meant and she was some extent right. He was just little bit insecure, which clouded his mind. He didn't want to repeat last night incident again which might put him in her bad book again.
'I will be back by six or seven. If you want, you can give yourself a short tour around the city.' She suggested to kill his boredom.
'hmmm.'
Simon came to fetch Radhika. They talked about some point and ready to go when Arjun followed them. They both looked at him questionably.
'What? Can't I see you off now?' He said in not so pleasant tone to which both shrugged while entering the elevator.
Simon was showing the client details to Radhika. At last, he showed few pictures of their client on internet.
'What a handsome man he is! Seems to have a cool personality. Don't you think same, Simon?' Radhika just complemented looking at the tab the old man showing. Nevertheless, mostly she admired client's achievement and philanthropic efforts.
'You are absolutely right ma'am. You have a great insight I think. I checked his background information too and he is a fine man.' Simon too praised.
'What? Who the hell is this guy? Let me see once.' Arjun shouted out of his patience startling both Radhika and Simon. But to his rescue the elevator rang as their floor came.
They came out as elevator halted on ground floor valet. Radhika shook her head and squinted at Arjun whose fire like rage immediately cooled down as if someone splashed water on it, ' I was just saying no matter what kind of handsome man sit in front of you, but I trust you.'
'Good for you.' Radhika replied and sat inside the car as it came.
Simon went close to Arjun, ' I know you are a hot blooded man. However, keep your jealousy at edge, young man. That will help you a lot in our madam's case.'
Simon Patted Arjun shoulder and one assuring glance before they move toward their destination. Arjun smiled getting the meaning behind the old man's word. He instantly calmed down and went back to his room.
In India
Ankush was sitting in middle of food court trying a new variety of caffeine drink. He again looked at his watch and then toward escalator. He sighed deeply when he saw some other girl came up. It was very first time Manya was late to meet him. He wasn't sure anymore about what to do about them.
A moment later Manya came walking with fast strides towards him. It took Ankush good few seconds to recognize her. He wasn't seeing the same Manya as he was used to. As a perfect fashion Diva Manya always carry herself as top glam girl, but at that time she was looking like a regular girl in crowded street.
'Hi.' Manya said tiredly while making herself comfortable in opposite seat. She gulped the mineral water placed in front of her, 'I hope I didn't make you wait much. It wasn't deliberate.'
'I know that.' Ankush replied astonished for the first time on her reply.
Usually Manya didn't give a damn about all these general etiquette things. She was somewhat self-centered, a little; who always try to keep herself comfortable.
'What do you wanted to ask?' She started conversation.
'Place your order first, please.' He said gently.
After placing their order, Ankush turned to Manya, ' May I know what are you doing nowadays?'
'Did you miss me?' she tried to quip a hilarious wisecrack. But seeing his stoic face she stopped, 'Relax, I am just kidding. I know there's nothing great I did for you to miss me plus it is quite hectic nowadays at office. Oh yeah, I joined birdsong.'
'What if I say I did miss you?' He asked in still that same expression.
Manya tried to find the mock behind his cue but didn't find any ounce of it. She was glad but couldn't believe her fate.
'Do you? Really!'
Ankush sighed again as the buzzer of their table rang indicating their order was ready. As soon their food came, She munched over the pizza they ordered without caring much and taking the cola ship in between. Ankush was literally in shock. He never saw her eating like this. She was always sophisticated and lavish even when eating. She did change a lot in those days. Surprisingly he liked all her changes for more.
Ankush cleared his throat and Manya looked at him, ' You know I can't beat around bush. So let me get this straight.'
Watching her positive nod, he continued, ' if you don't mind can I know if you still have same feelings for me?'
Manya choked on her coke hearing those words from Ankush. It was like a dream for her.
'What do you think?'
'If I could think and confirm by myself then why I am here? I can do that by myself.'
'Okay don't get so worked up.' She said and looked down. Might be gather her confidence to reply and looked up again, ' Ankush, you are my first love and may be the last one. I am stubborn about my feelings, may be stupid when I know you're not interested in me; still I am worried about you, still I always wonder how you are? But you don't worry, I won't nag you about that. Your happiness matter to me, with or without me I don't care.'
'But I care.' He intervened immediately.
Manya looked at him stunned. Is he the same guy who always tried to avoid him like plague? She shook her head in disbelief, 'What did you just say?'
'Can I be honest with you?' He asked.
She nodded her head positively.
'If you think I hated you, then you are wrong. I know you like me a lot, may be I won't find anyone else like you. What I feel for you is not love, it's definitely not. However, one thing I was always knew that I got habituated with you which might not good enough for you. You deserve better dear.' He started to open up.
'wait, how can you decide what I deserve or not? What I want or not?' Manya felt sudden irritation with his talk and little relief that he felt something about her, might be a habit but she had a little hope.
'I don't know how. More over I saw you always been pampered and live a life like princess. Just think practically, can you cope with our household. It's complete different.' He stated fact but with hidden questions.
Manya somehow got his hesitation to like back her, the thing that stopped him.
'I admit I was a brat before. But couldn't you see, I am trying to change myself. I was never been banished from doing anything but if you teach me the right way, I would follow it. At least you could have that much faith in me.' Manya cleared his queries.
'Do you think I am worthy of you?' He still looked downward.
Manya pushed her chair near to him, she held his hand in hers, she didn't want to leave the only chance she was given. She knew once she hesitate or show arrogance, she would lose him forever. She learnt a lot from life and one of them 'don't let your ego overpower your love'.
'Are you asking about your worth? You both brother and sister have some kind of inferiority complex I think.' She cupped his face without caring surrounding, ' let me clear one thing, Mr. Lawyer Mishra, you are world for me. With you, I will be happy with two pairs of cloth and one time food. With you, I can overcome everything. But things I need will be your support, guidance and trust on me.'
'I will try my best.'
'Enough for me.'
'Thank you.' He didn't know why he said that but he felt relieved. Manya smiled looking at him and he returned the same expression.

Radhika came out of her meeting tired followed by Simon. They were waiting in valet for their car, when her phone buzzed. She gave a little smile seeing the caller ID. She showed to Simon and old man even smile.
'He is head over heels for you ma'am and a complete nut. But I like that guy.' Simon stated.
'mmhhh.'
She received the call and the next moment her hand started shivering and her face Color become pale.
'What happened ma'am? Did the guy say anything rubbish?' Even an old man he got worried and angry as he looked after Radhika like his daughter.
'It's from Hospital Centre. Arjun had an accident.' She could utter that much.
