-----------
On the following incidents from comedy to tragedy, everything happened in one moment. Neil looked at Radhika helplessly who in return blinked in assurance. She even didn't know what to do further. Amidst all these, Priya was one who looked Neil and Radhika being oblivious of what's exact problem going on.
"Di, Rajiv is Neil's long lost brother whom they thought was dead." Radhika said looking at Priya's questioning gaze.
"What? Seriously." Priya was shocked but collected herself soon. "Then why the hell he was behaving like this. It's great news that he has a family too what he craved from childhood."
"Just like you. Stubbornness and misunderstanding at its best." Radhika replied nonchalantly though she had a smile plastered on her face.
"Why do you mean?" Priya knew what she meant; but feign a known ignorance to avoid the topic.
Radhika tapped on her phone something and looked back Priya, while giving a mischievous chuckle, " Di, for god shake I know you inside out. But still, considering your known great Himalayan ignorance let me tell you clearly."
Priya fake coughed to hide her embarrassment and looking everywhere but not at Radhika or Neil. Neil was all-silent from the moment Rajiv went furious followed by Arjun. He was in dilemma what to do; but he clearly aware the two women in front of him could make impossible in reverse.
"The way you are behaving with your brother, same is Rajiv going to do. However, for how long? We are not some amateur buffoons to continue with such tomfoolery acts."Radhika stated as matter of fact.
"Can you assure me you never did miss your brother? Then we won't bother you and even we will make Arjun understand." She continued; but paused looking Priya's uncomfortable gesture. "Don't answer me; just ask your heart."
Priya stood silent processing what Radhika was saying. She sighed looking up.
"Chasini is right, Di. We don't ask you to jump on your brother with excitement after seeing such long time; Just take your time, but in the process don't torture yourself forcefully being stay away and aloof. I don't know if I am right or wrong, but I see how you craved for your sibling affection too."Samaira said with a pleasant smile who just came upstairs after getting Radhika's message.
"How do you know what I want? In addition, importantly how can you be so unaffected after what Arjun did with you? Don't you hate him?"Priya bombarded questions after questions.
Yep!! That was quite surprising and shocking for Priya that Samaira, the girl whose life was completely been upside down by the havoc created by her own brother, forgiven him. How? Wasn't she even requesting Samaira same through her gaze when they came? God, what did she think that time?
"I would never know what you want. Nevertheless, that stare when I just came, told many things, which was unspoken. And coming to me hating Arjun ; if I say I didn't, then I would be wrong. But I don't anymore." Samaira clarified, as those things didn't really matter for her.
Every person learnt from past and move ahead with new zeal. So did her.
"I just don't know whether to believe you or not."
"That's upto you. After all we all are humans. We do mistakes and learn from it. Isn't it?"
Seeing Priya still contemplating, Samaira decided to clear her doubt. She lost many things in those years yet gained many. She knew the importance of a bond and how it felt when you lost it. No matter what happened, in the end it was Samira who was left all alone to bear the burden. After Jai's death, she dealt it. After Radhika left, she dealt it. After Arjun's game of vengeance, she dealt it. After Neil left, she dealt it. Arjun's betrayal didn't hurt her that much as much she felt lonely after Radhika and Neil left. Therefore, time taught her all the situations very well.
She remembered what conversation she had with Radhika last night.
In mid night when she felt little uneasy and went outside to terrace for some fresh air, she found Radhika was already there. Her smile got widen as of she got some lonely time with her lost best friend. She knew what wrong she did, but at least she would try to rectify it.
"Chasini...I am so happy..." She said and rushed to hug Radhika who forbid her from doing so.
"Samaira, I have something to ask you. Will you answer me honestly?" Radhika asked impassive.
"Yes..you can ask me anything. You don't need any permission for that. But I am always Sam for you, why Samaira and all this formalities?" She asked broken. She couldn't compreh what to conjecture from Radhika's blank face.
"You were. However, not anymore. You are not that old close friend of mine for whom I was ready to jump in fire pit even. Silly me. I was really foolish." Radhika let out a humourless chuckle while holding near by railing in fear if she lost herself again.
Still that incident affected her. No matter how much she tried, Radhika couldn't get out of that sightwhich was as fresh as it was happened two years ago. Her eyes closed, and the moment she closed her eyes, those flashes came back, she felt that sharp pang on her cheek amidst all crowds.
Alas!! Once again. Fearing the humiliation again, her eyes automatically opened wide. She released her deep breath to calm her down.
"No, it was not you. It was me, who was foolish. I couldn't get, I was being gifted with a priceless jewel and consider it as mere stone, then lost it." Samaira replied holding Radhika tightly in bereavement.
"We can talk about it later." Radhika said apathetically removing Samaira's hold from her.
"No, I want you say everything to me what's in your heart. Curse me, blame me, even slap me as much you want; but please open yourself. I really missed you Chasini, very much which you won't understand." Samaira pleaded this time making it all difficult for Radhika even.
"Slap you?" Radhika said sternly with a little high pitch voice. " what do you think of me? Is slapping anyone so easy for you?"
"No. What I meant.." Radhika cut her off.
"Let me finish." The intonation in Radhika voice made Samaira stood in silence. She never heard Radhika talked authoritative.
"You know, you were my sole inspiration back then when I determined to make my own identity too, after seeing you in shooting sight. From that day, I dedicated myself to you. Your one word, I wished to fulfil it by any means. You were not only my friend; you were my mentor, my philosopher, and my hope too. I never wish anything from you, but your trust. Your trust on me, which enlighten me to move forward. Moreover, it got courage when you chosen to believe me over Arjun Mehra and your parents on Maybelline contract. That day I decided, whatever come I will never let any hurdle to come to you. But anyways what happened it happens."Radhika said with a huge sigh , might be keeping herself on bay to proceed further.
"It was solely my mistake that I slap you that day in front of all. I know I was wrong." Again Samaira's got interrupted.
"It was not your slap which hurt me, it was your broken trust which hurt me most. For an instance, I understood Nandini manipulated you and you swayed away. But; Didn't you know how Saral was? How he tried to marry me forcefully by blackmailing me? Didn't you know how Bonnie was and what she did with your agency? Did you ever see me giving instances toward Arjun Mehra or did you ever find me intimate with him? How could you believe such nonsense against me, on Saral and Bonnie's confirmation talk? If you were my true friend, you never listened to them despite whatever they said. But you did opposite." Radhika vented out all her frustrations and disquietudewhich she held until now.
"I...I...." Samaira tried to speak.
"Leave that. I have more important thing todiscuss." Radhika said in austere expression.
Samaira knew the damage happened before, it would take more time to mend than she thought. Right then if she would talk about redemption, she knew it wouldn't be successful. Therefore, she let it. However, her determinations to get back her best friend become stronger.
"Yes, what you wanted to say?"Samaira asked softly.
"If you don't have any ambiguities, differences or hatred toward Arjun, can you try to pacify, Di? She needs a push and I came to realise that only you can do it." Radhika asked her though little hesitation still present in her voice.
"You just say me and I will do anything for my friend now. We can change our characters play now." Samaira added last bit teasingly.
"Thank you for helping Di."
"If I am going to do anything, that's for you and you only."
Radhika didn't reply and walked toward her room followed by Samaira. Just before entering her room, she turned, "even if we will back to normal, there won't be the same bond we shared before. It may be same with Neil and Arjun ; but not with you. Relationship and glass, broken once, can't repair fully without leaving a scratch." She went inside leaving a thoughtful Samaira's behind.
"What make you so engrossed, miss? I am asking you something from long time." Priya shook Samaira impatiently. She wanted to know if what she was saying was true, then she could get liberty to spend some time with her brother.
"Sorry."
"So what are you saying?" The eagerness in Priya's voice and the gleaming gaze told many things. Radhika thanked Almighty, at least she chosen right path to mend both sibling bond. She was right, when she asked Samaira to mend it.
"I am saying that I don't have any enmities toward Arjun now. In fact, we are good friends now. If he tried to snatch many things from me, but he paid it back with interest. More importantly he taught me how to value your relationships."Samaira said with a smile.
"Did he?" Shock was an understatement for Priya hearing this.
"I can't say he is exactly a saint, neither me too. If within few days of relationship, Nandini could influenced me and Saral , you can imagine what's the matter with Arjun whom she brainwashed from childhood. Despite all those manipulation, I think in some corner of his heart and mind; he still had those upbringings, which you gave him. Otherwise, he won't even help Chasini for the devastation created by Nandini. He even helped us to get accounts for birdsong. Importantly, he never leaves his hope to find you one day." Samira stated the fact. However, what shocked Priya more was Samaira's last sentence. Did Arjun really search for her? Her heart welled with joy and affection.
"She is right, Di. I see it with my own eyes his tireless search for his two important ladies of life." Neil, who sat silently till now, supported Samaira's talks while smiled inwardly.
"Two ladies!! You mean after this entire drama he wanted Nandini back in his life, again." Suddenly Priya found herself yelling at her highest vocal chords ability. The name Nandini itself made her scrunch her nose in disgust. God forbid, if she would find Nandini somehow, she won't hesitate to chop her in pieces and threw it to Hyena for their dinner.
"No, Di. How can you think like that? He was searching for you and his forbidden love." Neil said bluntly like nothing happened and gave a side wise quizzical look to Radhika who in return narrowed her eyes.
"Forbidden love? Who the hell that girl is giving hard time to my brother? Just tell me who is she and I will handle it by myself." Priya retorted with overflowing enthusiasm that shocked the three people present there with soccer shape eyes.
If someone saw it then, they would never be able to guess there was any misunderstanding even between those siblings. It looked like an over possessive sister trying to get happiness for her little brother by any means.
"Seriously, you are saying this, Di. Means you forgive Arjun. Yay..." Neil shouted who came out of trance at once.
"Whatever. That matter is between us. Nevertheless, how a girl can dare to reject my brother? Is she mad or mentally sick?" Priya said greeting her teeth.
"How can you say that, Di? Your brother is not a saint. It is all depends on girl to choose him or dump him." Radhika replied jerking on Priya's statement.
" No way. My brother is everything a girl can dream off. He is handsome, rich and importantly having an angelic sister like me. The girl must be blind or fool."Priya went there again.
"Handsomeness and richness doesn't give you anything if the person is like narcissistic jerk. In addition, the girl is not fool or blind. I don't believe it, you suddenly turned like U return." Radhika even didn't stay silent.
"But I don't understandwhy you are arguing with me?"
"Because, you are saying baseless things about a girl. This is utterly rubbish."
"I bet my brother has a golden heart too. That girl would know someday, if only she tried. It's her loss." Priya said sympathetically.
"Don't do that. Pity, I mean. If you are so sure about your brother having a golden heart, go and spit it on his face. I dare you." Radhika said with a challenging smirk to which Priya even accepted and went downstairs with a determined face.
Radhika was following her, but she turned to see Samaira and Neil were trying to hide their smile. Somehow, Neil couldn't and rolled on like maniac. She kicked Neil's leg and went away, leaving Neil to dance on one leg.
"I can see, our Chasini is going back to us, soon." Neil said smiling still holding his leg.
"I hope so, for me." Samaira repeated reminding their last night conversation.
Priya was combing her hair and looking at mirror in between. She lost in her thoughts about the challenge she accepted. In moments of heat she agreed but how she would implement it, she had no idea. She knew he was her brother, nothing else. Somehow after living long years separately without having any contact with each other made her little apprehensive. However, one thing she would like to thank Samaira's for forgiving and making her understand things so well. She was hell excited as well as nervous.
"What thought make princess so lost?" Ankush said playfully ruffling her hair again which she really hated.
"Don't touch my hair, you idiot. How many times should I say this?" She fake admonished him.
"So, are you ready for marriage? With all your heart , mind and of course your family." Ankush wanted to know if everything went smooth or not.
"Yes, I am glad that I came here back. And for your information I am always ready to marry; but my fiancée got busy in one or another thing." She fake cried which was not her thing even, to do drama.
"I am so happy for you. I knew the moment you said you believe in having second chance, you will come around to your only family."Ankush told with a bright smile while fixing a tiara on Priya's head.
"You really look beautiful today." He complemented and winked her. He was leaving room, turned to say, "Best of luck dear."
Thank you, Priya mouthed while returning a smile and got back to what she was busy doing.
"Someone is really happy." The statement more sounded like taunt to her. She turned to see Manya was standing on doorstep with a fuming face but her eyes told different story with sadness revolving around her.
"Why that someone's happiness pricking you?"She answered without looking back.
"If you were in my place you wouldn't have said like this. Everything is easy for you." Manya accused her which obviously didn't liked by Priya. Moreover Manya's voice modulation didn't sound good to her.
"Listen, kiddo; first learn how to behave with your elders. Then talk." Priya retorted irritably as she didn't know why this single person always tailing behind her and did something unpleasant which annoyed her to core.
Manya realised her mistake but her mood was completely sour after listening Ankush talked about marriage to Priya. She went near, "How much you love Ankush?"
The cue obviously shocked Priya. She couldn't grasp what exactly going on her mind, still she replied, " The much I should do. Not more or less than that."
"Then wish you a happy married life. Keep Ankush happy always. Otherwise I will come back to torture you." Manya threatened while Priya laughed out loud getting what she was actually trying to say.
"Why are you laughing like mad?" Manya asked irritated. She was just trying to pacify her heart with the idea that Ankush was happy with Priya and his happiness mattered most to her; here the girl was making fun of her.
"Kiddo, manners." Priya again demanded while pulling Manya to her and pinched her cheeks.
"May I know how much you love Ankush?" Priya asked with a straight face.
"More than you can imagine. I have no words to express. I am generally possessive about my liking and belonging. However, in the process of loving him, I know how it's important to see your partner's happiness. But his happiness lies in you, not in me." Manya said looking down while a tear drop slide down.
"If you are possessive enough, then why are giving him to me. Grasp him and bind him tightly around you, so that he can't escape. I don't want that buffoon around me doing his clown act in front of me." Priya said smiling and wiped out Manya's teardrop who was now shocked.
"Then you will not marry him?"
"Why should I, when I have my own personal cuckoo head muggins simpleton whom I love like crazy from the moment I saw him. Believe me he is better than any male species living on this mother earth now." Priya stated and Manya felt like jump out of the window with happiness.
"Then you said earlier?" she was cut off.
"I said I love Ankush the much I should do. He is great friend of mine. That's all."Priya spoke and got ready to go outside as they planned to visit temple that day.
Manya breathed relief and hugged Priya to which she smiled.
"Are you not coming with us, to temple?"
"No. I planned to go back today."
"Kiddo, let me advice you something. Don't lose something you love without fighting. It's your right too. I will pray for you. Ankush is lucky to have such sweetheart for him." That last sentence made Manya blushed a little as she shied away.
"Thank you, Di."
"That's better kiddo. Don't forget your manners next time. Else you will see worst of me." Priya winked and went out.
Near temple, they all dispersed in-group and went to enjoy different sides of architecture and natural beauty. Radhika was with Rajiv who was awfully silent from the moment he heard Neil was his elder brother. Neither he tried to avoid Neil nor he was talking with anyone. That's quite strange for everyone considering his nature.
Priya was purchasing diya, flowers and fruits for worship from near vendor with Arjun who was tailing like security guard around his sister. He was in mission to get back his sister.
Neil was capturing all landscape from different angle and looking at Rajiv in between who was staring at him sometimes with accused eyes. He sighed not knowing what to do with his nut head little Raju.
Samaira's was enjoying the chill fresh breeze while dipping his feet in river, closing her eyes. Sometimes she looked at Radhika's direction with hope, who was trying to make Rajiv talk, at least something.
"You big city people will never change. Right." Someone said from behind as Samaira's stood up with a jerk. She turned to see the biggest shock of her life.
"You?" She hissed. Every nerve of her being fired up remembering past incidents.
"Yes, me. Whom you are expecting here? This is not a lousy place like cities where girls have no shame." He spoke venomous while throwing daggers at Radhika direction.
"Be in your limit Saral, before I lose it."Samaira warned and started to walk away avoiding the unwanted upcoming events.
"Oh really! Can't you teach those limits to your ex friend who was becoming like woman with no dignity."
"Saral." Samaira roared literally shaking with anger. "Not a word more."
"Oh so I think now you both patch up. Look at her, now she is with a complete new person. She was with me two years back, then tried to snatch your friend, then your ex fiancée and now with some other guy. Thinking about this I don't know if she was a characterless or whor....." before his sentence completed his cheek was imprinted nicely with loud slap from Samaira.
"I warned you Saral. Not a word about Chasini. Because of you, I lost my best friend and you still have no shame that you come here to show your rotten face in front of me. Dare you utter nonsense about Chasini and I won't hesitate to kill you even." Samaira's threatened by pointing index toward him.
She walked away when heard Saral was threatening her back, "your Chasini will pay for what you did now with me. Mark my words."
Her blood boiled hearing his nonsense, " you better don't do any stupidity. Else, you will see what Samaira Khanna can do for her bestie. I will kill you and I meant it."
With that, she walked away hurriedly with only intention to see if Radhika was safe. She didn't know somehow she even got scared after Saral's threat. She went up to see others; but couldn't find anyone. Her heart was racing like speedster and would came out at any moment.Seeing a priest coming out of Sanctum, she asked about Radhika by giving her description. He said he saw her sometime before while offering her Prasadam. He didn't know how she become faint after having Prasadam. In addition, her husband took her back home.
"Husband?" Samaira yelled at priest. "She is not even married. How can you be so careless?"
She knew it was not fault of priest but Samaira couldn't control herself. She took few Prasadam from priest and the smell told her it was mixed with some sedative. She knew well about it. She wandered here and there while calling Radhika. She saw Priya and Arjun coming up. She ran to them , " Arjun.....Arjun...I...Chasini.....Chasini..." She could not speak and broke down there.
Hearing her Arjun mind went blank. His madness returned at once. He made Samaira stand forcefully without caring he was hurting her, " what happened to her? Tell me clearly. Now." He roared.
Radhika felt a sharp pain in her head and heaviness in her eyes. She tried to turn but failed. In blur she heard someone speaking, " Son, now we can get back to them. They will see what it means to mess with us."
"You don't worry papaji."
This voice she knew.
'Saral' her mind went numb realising the fact.
Opening her eyes little forcefully, she found herself being tied to a pillar. What shocked her more was her costume. It changed to a red colour bridal saree making her senses wiry and eerie at once.
