chapter 10

Looking at descending sun over her head, Priya decided to leave the orphanage. It gave her homely feeling, immense satisfaction and eternal peace while mingling with those innocent kids who resembled her past self. She could not deny the fact that she did never miss her brother; but when Rajiv came in her life only to shine her path engraved with jitters and fortunately that turn out to be real gold. She was more than thankful to god for that.

Though Priya never voiced out, but she did never hold any kind of upset feelings about Arjun. She was mature enoughand had that big motherly heart to forgive what Arjun did with her, because they were child that time. But what pricked her more was, when she met Radhika and got to know what he was up to under influence of Nandini. The thing didn't go well with her that once her innocent little brother was ready to slammed down girls' life, just because Nandini wanted him to do that.

Who is he? A puppet having no brain? After being grown uptoo, change was far thing; his conscience took a dip in gutter and buried there only. Else no sane person went around destroying girls' life, just because someone ordered him. That day Priya felt she failed miserably, the pang of pain killed her soft corner which she held for her brother.

"Didi, you are not staying here with us today?" an innocent angel's chirping pull Priya out of her trance.

"I will come again. With more chocolates and cookies and whatever you wish." Her enthusiastic words brought smile on little stars. They are full of life.

"bye didi. Come back soon." All the kiddos waved at once when Priya stood up to leave.

" sure , my ladoos."

She was going to ignite engine of her car; Rana kaka came near, "just consider what I told about forgiving Arjun, at least for once, please."

His desperation clearly audible from his tone which made Priya heave a sigh, " You yet to know me kaka."

"what?" A big 'O' shaped shock was there.

"I already forgave Arjun for what happened with me, just cope up with time to forget it. But..."

"But , what dear? He is missing you in every stage of his life. I witnessed his remorse, guilty filled heart which still repents on his actions. Isn't that enough for you to see him once?"Rana bottled out everything out of blue.

"I will, when Radhika and Samaira accept him with whole heart. What he did with them or tried to do, I can't forgive him, because he was not a kid anymore to not differentiate between right or wrong." Without letting any more space for argument, she drove off, deeply merged in her own thoughts.

How much she craved to meet her little brother? How much she wanted to take him in her embrace and vent out all her buried emotions; but in all her ethics stopped her doing so. For a fact she was a gem of person who didn't believe such highly of herself despite having so many things, which made her more beautiful.

No matter how much he tried, Arjun could not able to take his eyes off from the girl sitting in front of him. Radhika was sitting in silence from the time Arjun bared his whole chapter of life in front of her. He badly wanted to know what's running in her little brain about him. Did she even think of him as guilt or sympathize him? Though both option were not okay with him, he still wanted to go with later option even though he hate sympathy word. According to him that might earn a little soft place in her heart about him.

"You must be wondering how worst of a person I am?" he finally asked not taking her silence anymore.

"No."

No, did she say so? A huge relief washed over him, as if someone tried to understand him and that someone whom he adored most in his heart. But that was not long lasting until she opened her mouth.

"That does not imply you are a righteous good person." She said looking straight into his eyes piercing his soul, which told his brutal ways to succeed the game that he started in past, how he tortured her at first and how he broke her trust about him.

"I know."

Knowing his own mistakes and feeling her suffering, which she went through once because of his evil ploy, He did not want to rub it more by trying to justify himself. So he preferred to keep mum.

"But how much I know Di, she must have forgiven you long before. Then what is it stopping her to recognize you?" She wondered herself as her words gave pleasure to his ear too. He seemed quite happy.

As the sudden realization dawned upon her remembering her past interactions with Priya, She stood up abruptly.

"Then is it because of ...." She couldn't complete her own words and turned to look Arjun with some unknown emotion.

Arjun hopped to her immediately and held one of her hand in his, "what happened? Did I do something again?" He was confused too.

"Don't worry. I guess I know how to make di to come and find you."

"Thank you. I knew, I can count on you."

She did not reply. Arjun was too much happy for good as he started to think everything settled between them and he was going to get his share of happiness too, which was obviously a mere illusion.

Neil was walking with long strides into garden area, calling out for Prerna loudly, followed by Rajiv who was mimicking him which annoyed him to core.

"Stop following me and don't mimic for god sake." Neil said all irritated.

"Okay. But it's fun, you know."

"Go to amusement park then."

"Why? When you are here with your all glory, why should I go to have artificial fun?" Rajiv laughed out seeing comical expressions of Neil.

Nerve of the person, who called him as walking fun material and go away with it even, by teasing him nonstop. Neil wanted to smack down that grin, which plastered on Rajiv's face. He stopped thinking about Radhika. Nobody dare to made fun of him like this, it was only his right or he thought so. However, this guy was many steps ahead of him.

"Rajveer!" Both stopped at once hearing Prerna's astonishment call. To be precisely Neil stood dumbfounded, hearing his mother took his father's name after a decade. After his little brother's death, Neil never saw his mother to cling on any memories related to his dad, not even his name. They both knew his dad was responsible for his brother's death and even more to it, he had many reason to hate that person, so as Prerna. Then why suddenly? He knew his little brother resembled his father a lot, but was that child Rajiv? No, he himself did last right of his brother, then? A lot more question rose in his head, which had no answers.

Neil's eyes found Prerna's emotional gaze which was fixed on Rajiv, who stood oblivious of things looking left right for the matter he was confused too much. Crossing Neil when Prerna went straight to Rajiv and cupped his face with all those love she hidden brilliantly, Neil felt as if he got some electric shock waves. Rajiv consciously seemed uncomfortable with sudden turned out events.

"Aunty, I...I." Rajiv tried to reasoning when Prerna beat it.

"Where are you, my son till date? How much I missed you, you never know?" Prerna said caressing his face for which he leaned in, but making faces thinking deeply what to reply.

"Aunty you must mistake me as someone else. I am Rajiv, Rajiv Malhotra. Not Rajveer. And I brought up in Norway, so there is no chance I might be....uummm... you know." He could not complete, as he did not want to make Prerna sadder than she already was.

" Rajiv...Rajiv.." came Radhika by calling him.

Rajiv immediately detach himself from Prerna and went to Radhika, " Thank lord, sweetheart you came to save me. Let's go." He said in low voice, but however, it was audible to all, Prerna broke down more.

"Why? What happened to you?" Radhika asked.

Before Rajiv could reply Arjun Barged in with a clear jealous and warning voice, "I told you clearly, don't use those endearments for her."

"I have a scarce patience and mood now to have a verbal argument with you about your baseless jealous game." Rajiv replied with unpleasant bored intonation, which shocked Radhika. She hardly witnessed this side of Rajiv. Something must pricking him hard, but what?

"My son." Prerna came again.

" Aunty, I already told you, I am not what you think of." He refused sternly this time, walked in fast strides to their car, and told Radhika to come soon.

Radhika looked at an emotional broke Prerna and equal confused Neil. She could decipherer few things by herself but not clear. Then Prerna requested her to get Rajiv once to her, to which she nodded. She could not make up with others but certainly knew how to respect elders and Prerna a little more.

"what happened to him?" Radhika told to herself while following Rajiv, She shouted, "Wait for me, you Idiot."

Arjun held Radhika before she could take next step, "Why do you care for him?"

His clear indication toward Rajiv with his covetous nature clearly left her in stupefaction.

"Isn't that obvious Mr. Mehera?" His hand automatically fell down.

"It is, for now." He let out a sigh. He could not say next words, which were storming in his mind, "but not anymore. I want you all by myself. Call me selfish or whatever? Curse me too, I can tolerate but not let you leave me again, neither share your affections too."

As if Radhika understood his thoughts, "one thing remember Mr Mehera, if you want Di back in your life, get along with Rajiv. It is him who can get you back Di, not me."

He was stunned for a moment, but realized Rajiv's importance in Priya and Radhika's life, both precious jewels of his life. No matter how much he disliked the idea to gel with Rajiv, but he had to. He nodded in positive, "but in return I only want you to address me informally, like you do with him." He again pointed Rajiv.

"We don't share such relationships." With that, she walked away without looking back.

"But soon we will do." Arjun mumbled to himself and returned inside with a smile. Not after all the day was wasted, for him.

Mala was pacing inside room and fuming. She was mourning about Radhika still at Mumbai, but in hotel not at home. Seemed no one was affected on her complaint and busy in their work what they were doing.

"what are you doing here? Playing with these good for nothing papers. Call your sister, now." Mala slapped Ankush's head who was busy checking some case study for next session.

"Maa she will come after her work. And don't say my works are nothing." Ankush replied while caressing his head where Mala slapped.

"But did you say that we are at Rishikesh now?"

"I did, Bahu. Don't worry. They all are coming day after tomorrow." Dadaji replied grinning wide.

"okay, let me make some sweets for my choti." The moment mala said those words, the happiest person to hear such was Dadaji.

"Ahhh...finally my mouth will get back its taste buds." He got up enthusiatically with his phone to call again. Ankush smiled on his antics knowing his fondness for sweets.

Behind all someone was listening their talks, they didn't aware and that someone was Saral. He crooked an evil smile when his thoughts went on vile, "So Radhika Mishra is coming back. Let's finish that unfinished task which I left in middle. Your Saral is waiting for you, darling." The clear obsession and evilness were apparently evident in his expression as he walked away whistling.
