Bring the pain on!

"Cut!" the director yelled.

The members all dropped down onto the hot pavement to catch their breath. It was a hot day in LA and they were filming their music video for their newest song, ON. It was the choreography performance. They'd been practicing for months and were excited to record this video, but nobody expected how exhausting it was going to be.

"Water. Please. Someone. I'm dying." Yoongi was sprawled out on the ground. He didn't know a human body could produce the amount of sweat that his body was currently producing. A staff member went around and brought water to everyone.

After resting for a moment they got up and walked over to underneath the tents to get some shade and look over their performance so far. Hobi saw a lot of areas they could touch up on and do again.

Jimin groaned to himself. We will be recording this for the rest of our lives.

After Hobi pointed out and explained how to redo some parts, the members quickly got back to work. Their dedication and passion for the song helped them deal with the heat and getting through a number of more takes.

While going through the footage again the members couldn't help but praise Taehyung for his parts. Jin kept teasing that Taehyung looked "Exceptionally sexy" for this performance. Taehyung couldn't help but blush at the compliments from everyone. It gave him a little boost of confidence he felt he needed to do even better.

"Wow, hyungie!" Jungkook kept saying as they watched through the videos.

"One more take," Hobi demanded.

"I'm actually going to die here, aren't I?" Yoongi playfully complained.

The members got back in formation to do part of the chorus again. While everything was going well, suddenly Taehyung's zipper of his jacket flew into his eye and he let out a loud scream.

Nobody knew what happened. All the sudden Taehyung had screamed, grabbed his face, and ran out of frame. The director yelled "Cut!" again and all of the members ran to Taehyung in a panic. He had crouched down and was clutching his eye, crying.

"TaeTae!" Jimin screamed as he ran towards his best friend.

"What happened hyungie!?" Jungkook asked with worry. Taehyung couldn't stop crying.

"Is it your eye? Let hyung see." Jin bent down and tried to pry Taehyung's hand off of his eye, but when he did he saw Taehyung's hand covered in blood, before his dongsaeng quickly clutched his face again.

"Medic!" Yoongi screamed. The members were overtaken with worry. Namjoon pulled Taehyung into a hug and rubbed his back, telling him he'd be alright.

"It h-hurts," Taehyung cried out.

"What happened?" Hobi asked. He had no idea how Taehyung managed to make his eye bleed.

"Z-zipper," Taehyung whispered through his sobs. He held up the zipper to his jacket and there was blood on that too. There was also a small, sharp edge sticking out of the zipper showing that it must have been damaged or chipped at some point. He leaned into Namjoon and started crying harder. He knew being hit with a zipper seemed like a small incident, but he never experienced something so painful. It hadn't hit near his eye, but directly on it, and now his actual eyeball was bleeding out. He was filling with panic as a million anxieties raced through his head. Will I be blind? Lose half my vision? See clearly ever again? Does something like that scar?

The members were sick with worry for their best friend. A medic on the staff came over to try and look at Taehyung's eye, but he kept flinching away whenever the medic tried to see what happened.

"Ow..No," Taehyung cried when the medic grabbed his hand.

Jimin reflexively pushed the medic away, "Don't touch him if you're just going to hurt him."

Yoongi grabbed Taehyung some water and used it to clean off some of the blood that had stained the singers hand.

"He needs to go to the hospital. This is bad," the medic said. Taehyung's anxiety worsened. Jin gave the medic a dirty look. "Well saying that sure isn't going to help him, now is it?" He saw Taehyung tense up against Namjoon and started rubbing his back, "You'll be alright, Taehyung-ah. All will be fine." He shot another threatening glare at the medic for saying something that scared Taehyung.

"I'm s-s-orry," Taehyung choked out. He felt absolutely terrible for getting hurt and ruining their video shoot. He felt as though he had disappointment everyone and ruined absolutely everything.

"Don't be sorry. It was an accident. All that's important right now is that we get you help," Jungkook said. Jungkook looked over and saw that Jimin had started crying. His heart was completely broken seeing Taehyung hurt. Jimin grabbed his best friend to help him stand up, and pulled him into a hug. Taehyung couldn't unclutch his hand from his eye, and Jimin didn't mind that the hug was making blood get all over him.

The members held on to Taehyung with firm grips, he was stumbling a bit now that he could only see out of one eye. They guided him to the car so he could be taken to the hospital. Other staff members tried to intervene and help but all of the members suddenly felt possessive and protective of Taehyung and didn't want anyone else near him.

On the way to the hospital the members kept reassuring Taehyung that he'd be alright, that his eye would stop bleeding and heal. He was finally able to stop crying and express his worry about his eyesight and Yoongi made a lighthearted joke that the singer would rock a pirates eye-patch if that's what it came down to.

Taehyung didn't find the joke very funny.

Although the members were trying their best to be reassuring, all of them were ridden with worry and anxiety too. What if his eyesight was ruined? What would that mean for his dancing, etc?

At the hospital, everyone was surrounding Taehyung while he lay in the hospital bed. Yoongi had to step out to cry. He had been somewhat okay until actually seeing his dongsaeng laying there in the hospital. It was starting to hit him that his brother was hurt and it was weighing heavily on his heart.

The doctor tried to take Taehyung's hand off his eye so he could inspect it, but the singer was still too scared. The bleeding seemed to have stopped but he was afraid to open his eye because he was terrified that he'd be blind in it. He kept pushing the doctors hand away anxiously. Thankfully the doctor was very patient.

"He just needs a moment," Jin said. "Tae you have to let him see it so they can figure out what to do." Jin grabbed Taehyung's hand and squeezed it, "He's just here to help you."

"I'm scared," Taehyung frowned. "What if I can't see?"

Hobi gently rubbed Taehyung's arm, "It's okay to be scared, but leaving it untreated will only make it worse. The sooner you let the doctor help, the better chances of saving your eye, yeah?"

Taehyung realized his hyung had a point and finally let the doctor look at his eye. His vision was pretty blurry and the light from the ceiling made it sting, but he wasn't blind. Jungkook started crying when he saw how damaged his hyungs eye actually looked. There was a pretty deep gash in the eyeball and he felt absolutely terrible. He also felt useless for not knowing what to do to help.

The doctor concluded that Taehyung's eye would need antibiotics to help the cut heal, and in the meantime he would have to wear an eye patch. Jin couldn't help but chuckle when he thought of Yoongi making the pirate joke. So he actually has to wear one.

Yoongi re-entered after washing the tears off his face. The members told him about the eye patch and he smiled. Haha!

The doctor put together a care form for Taehyung that explained the medicine routine and how he needed to rest as much as possible. It explained how he needed to avoid getting light into his eye and how he had to keep the patch on his eye whenever he wasn't putting the medicine in it. The doctor explained that he would have some trouble walking because his depth perception would be a bit messed up due to only being able to use one eye. He also said how the singer would start experiencing vertigo and suffer from some headaches. Taehyung got teary eyed. It was a lot of information to take in. The good news was he wasn't going blind and after all the treatment he would be fine.

The doctor put some medicine in Taehyung's eye and then got him situated with the little patch that had to go over it. The doctor told them they were free to go and he left the room.

Taehyung was trying to hold back his tears as he apologized for ruining the video shoot. The members kept telling him not to worry about it right now, but there was anxiety over what to do now that Taehyung couldn't dance. They only had a few days left in LA to record the performance.

"I've ruined everything," Taehyung said sadly. Jungkook wrapped his arms around him, "Stop thinking that. No you didn't. We will figure something out, just focus on healing." Jungkook kissed his hyungs forehead.

"I'll be honest, I'm not too sure what to do now." Hobi worried about the video shoot and how they were going to finish it, if they even could.

"I'm the leader, let me worry about that," Namjoon told everyone. He took on the stress of being the leader and having to come up with solutions and making hard decisions, but he was glad to do it knowing it put the others at ease.

The members brought Taehyung back to the hotel they were staying in and had become more overprotective than he had ever seen. Jimin kept telling him to not even try to walk, to just lay down and rest. He tried getting up to grab water but was wobbly on his feet. The doctor was right about the depth perception being off.

"No no no, you sit before you fall!" Jin scolded. He sighed and did as he was told. They were able to schedule an extension for the video shoot, meaning a longer stay at the hotel in LA. Taehyung was upset that the members wouldn't let him leave the hotel. He wanted to go out and explore and shop and have fun, but everyone forbade it.

While he stayed cooped up in bed, they were always at his side caring for him. Jimin and Jungkook helped him put the medicine in his eye and re-fasten his eye patch. Yoongi would fluff his pillows and make sure he always had clean sheets. Jin, Hobi, and Namjoon would go out and come back with little presents for Taehyung, and his favorite foods. They pretty much got him anything he requested.

One night Taehyung was desperate for a shower and Jin and Jimin took it upon themselves to stand right on the other side of the curtain the whole time incase "anything happened."

"What would even happen?" Taehyung asked curiously.

"You could fall." Jin crossed his arms, "And I refuse to let you get hurt again!" Taehyung wanted to roll his eyes at his hyung, but considering the circumstances, he couldn't. He chuckled at the inconvenience.

While they were staying at the hotel, Namjoon was on the phone with one of the performance directors about the video shoot. He told them that even with the extension, he wasn't sure they'd be able to do the video because Taehyung's eye needed to heal first. The director mentioned a special contact lens that Taehyung could wear that would cover his injury but still let him see out of his eye.

"But only if he's feeling up for it," the director said.

"His doctor said he needs to rest. I don't want to risk anything. He's been getting dizzy and stumbles around. That's a bad combination with heat and dancing." Namjoon was worried about his brothers safety. He wasn't willing to agree to do anything that could put Taehyung in danger.

"Give him a few more days and see how he feels," the director suggested.

Namjoon sighed. "Alright. I guess that's all we can do at this point."

When he got off the phone with the director he walked into the other room to see Jimin helping Taehyung get his pajama shirt on.

"I told him I could do it myself. I don't know why he's helping me," Taehyung told Namjoon as Jimin was holding one of his arms and shoving it through an arm hole.

Jimin pointed his finger in Taehyung's face. "You need me," he teased.

"Cute," Namjoon chuckled. He told Taehyung what the director had said about the special contact lens, but also how he needed to wait a few days first before deciding. Taehyung thought it would be a great idea as long as he wasn't dizzy anymore.

The members continued to take care of Taehyung and fulfill his every need. He insisted he could be independent but they refused to let him. Jungkook said it was fun getting to be the hyung for once, getting to be the 'ultimate caregiver.' This statement made the others playfully bicker over who was better at taking care of Taehyung, and then it became a little competition. They started racing eachother to get him water or food or clothes, and they bickered over who got to help him with his eye medicine. Taehyung's heart couldn't help but flutter over seeing everyone be so caring towards him. He didn't ever realize just how much he actually meant to them all and he was overflowing with love for everyone.

Jin had gotten so many water bottles to put at Taehyung's table-side that Hobi joked, "You're going to drown him and that's not the goal here!"

After a few more days of extreme pampering and resting, Taehyung was feeling a lot better. His eye was reacting to the medicine well and he wasn't getting headaches or dizzy spells anymore. He said he wanted to try finishing the filming with that contact lens. Namjoon said okay but only under the condition that if he started to feel even the slightest bit unwell or hurt while filming, they needed to stop.

"Okay, hyung," Taehyung agreed.

They got back to the filming location and the performance director had the contact lens ready to go. He said Taehyung would be able to see, but the brightness in that eye would be darkened as it was a special lens that helped reduce the light in it, since Taehyung still technically needed to use that eye patch while the eye healed.

Yoongi gripped Taehyungs shoulder, "You sure you're up for this? Don't feel pressured, okay? If it doesn't work out now, we have the rest of our lives to film this thing."

"I would at least like to try," Taehyung told his hyung.

"Ahh Taehyung-ah, that's the spirit!" Jin shook his fist cheerfully. Hobi gathered everyone and began explaining the routine and dance steps again. To their surprise, they actually didn't have all that much left to even film. Only about two or three small sections.

They got to filming and although Taehyung was really holding his own just like he had been the first time they had filmed, the others couldn't help but worry. Whenever the cameras weren't directed at them the members eyes were immediately on Taehyung making sure he didn't get hurt again. Staff had taken the zipper off the jacket completely after Yoongi gave them a scolding about how they were oblivious to the fact the zipper was broken in the first place.

Jungkook and Namjoon would stand close by ready to take action if anything happened to Taehyung, but thankfully they were able to get through and complete filming with no injuries.

"And CUT! That's a wrap everyone!"

The members ran around cheering with happiness. Jin grabbed Taehyung and went to spin him in a circle, but Jungkook ran over and grabbed him, "Stop! None of that!"

"Sorry, sorry, but yayy!!! You did it Taehyung!" Jin cheered. Everyone surrounded Taehyung and once again showered him with praises for his dedication and perseverance despite the situation.

"Go Taehyungie!" Jimin screamed. Everyone squeezed him into a hug and then Namjoon said they needed to immediately get back to the hotel so Taehyung could get back to resting.

Once back at the hotel the members went on and on about how relieved and thrilled they were about being finished and finally being able to head home. They were also extremely satisfied with their performance.

They immediately got back to tending to Taehyung.

"I just did an entire dance performance, I think it's okay to say I can take care of myself at this point," Taehyung told everyone.

"I don't care what you just did. You sit and let hyungs take care of you!" Hobi said while laughing. Taehyung didn't protest. He decided to take the opportunity to continue to be as lazy as possible without getting in trouble for it. Yoongi took a few extra opportunities to tease Taehyung about the eye patch. He also teased Taehyung about not getting too used to being this pampered, "Because you're never allowed to get hurt ever again."

Taehyung smiled and said he can't make any promises. "If I knew getting hurt would get me this pampered, maybe I should do it more. Now hyung...I could really go for some Pork Belly." Taehyung smiled bashfully.

Yoongi stared at Taehyung for a moment and then made him laugh as he put his hand to his head and shouted,

"Aye-Aye, captain!"
