How Blythe and Nova Met and Became Friends

While I definitely would not recommend getting gulon poop on you, as I stood in the bathroom trying to clean some of it out of my hair as quickly as possible I found that it was an awakening experience. That didn't mean I wasn't angry out of my mind and imagining all the different ways Eamon Foster could suffer, it just meant that suddenly I was given a perspective on life I wouldn't have had without being completely humiliated in my first year at a school where I used to fly by as invisible.

Originally when I had entered there had been a constant knocking and begging from adults, one being my ability detecting mentor, to either let them in or come out so they could make sure I was okay. Of course, I had been too busy crying to give any response and simply let them continue knocking until eventually they gave up.

The knocking had ceased what felt like centuries ago, although in reality it was at the most twenty minutes since they stopped, so it made me jump slightly when suddenly there was light tapping at the door and a girl echoed, "Hello?"

I had given up on getting everything in my hair out, and knew that I couldn't hold the entire girl's bathroom hostage, so I made the split decision to open the door. I hesitated once I reached it, and instead of opening it I simply turned the lock before announcing, "It's open."

The girl cracked the door open slightly, and peered through. "Do you still have it in your hair?" she questioned.

"Kinda," I replied, confused at what she was playing at. I figured maybe she didn't want to go near the smell. She nodded before opening the door enough to slip through then locking it once more.

When she turned around my eyes bugged open at the fact it wasn't some random girl, it was Blythe Song. The cousin of the boy who put me into this mess in the first place. I suddenly felt angry and was seconds away from telling her off, figuring she was coming in to cover for him and apologize on his behalf. I only had the time to open my mouth when I noticed the items in her hands and the sheepish smile on her face. In her hands she held different balms and soaps for taking care of hair as well as taking care of bad smells.  My eyes flickered for a moment towards the bag hanging off her arm. "I knew Serena keeps this stuff in her locker at all times as if there's ever going to be some emergency requiring them," Blythe explained, moving the items around as she talked, "so when Eamon got in trouble and her and Mika had to follow with him since it's likely they knew stuff about it, I took the time to slip in and grab them. There's a change of clothes in the bag, but the clothes are mine not hers."

"How'd you get into her locker?" I asked, not sure why of all the things that she said, that was what I focused on.

"Family secret," she replied with a wink. "Tilt your head back into the sink, I'll wash your hair for you. And just so you know, the mentors kind of gave up when I walked in but Sir Naois asked that you talk to him as soon as possible. Magnate Leto also mentioned you will have to come to his office to tell what happened because of Eamon officially, even though it's obvious, just so he has the paperwork."

I nodded and then tried my best to relax as she gently moved her fingers through my hair, washing the poop out the best she could. Eventually she let out a happy cheer, explaining, "That was the last of it." She took out something to condition it and then explained some of the soaps that would make sure I didn't smell of poop for the rest of the day. "You won't even have to leave school early to shower," she explained to me with a grin.

When she was done working on my hair, she handed me the clothes to quickly get changed. She turned around as I dressed and then once I was done I thanked her and she responded by wrapping me into a hug. "My cousin is awful, and pretty much always has been pretty annoying, but this was definitely him at his worst. I am so sorry that this happened to you."

"You aren't close with him?" I asked, pulling away from the hug.

"Not really," she responded. "He's always been a lot closer with Mika, and Serena has a huge crush on him so she follows him like a puppy and he lets her. I've never really fit in with them. I just sit with them at lunch because I don't really have anyone else."

I bit my lip. "I usually don't even go into the cafeteria. I find a empty classroom or I go into the bathroom. Sometimes I'll just take an extra long time grabbing stuff from my lockers," I told her, instantly regretting my words for how pathetic they painted me out to be. Not that I wasn't pathetic. My parents were talentless and the only reason they were well known is because they own the most prestigious restaurant in the Lost Cities. I was talentless as well, and just barely passed the entrance exam to be let into the school. I was doing awful in the majority of my classes and I had absolutely no friends even after months. The closest to a friend was in a splotching match when a girl remembered my name.

"Well, if we're both friendless, maybe we can become friends," Blythe responded. "I can come with you for your talk with Master Leto. Technically I have to talk with him too since I am generally associated with my cousins. I was just let off the hook at this moment since I mentioned I was going to check up on you."

I smiled and replied, "That sounds great. Thank you again for helping me out."

"Of course," she grinned. "What are friends for?" With those words she unlocked the door for the bathroom and motioned for me to follow her out. "Everyone's in their normal classes, the incident barely made a dent in the day. A lot of people are still going to talk about it though. I'm sorry."

I waved her off. "I mean, what is the worst that could happen from this?" I questioned before we turned a hallway and a kid sneered in my direction.

"Hey Blythe!" She shouted, and I realized it was Wren Paloma standing next to her best friend, Genesis Takara. "Be careful walking so close to Poopy! You might catch her stink!"

I frowned at the nickname, but Blythe simply rolled her eyes and shouted back, "I'd say the same to Genesis about you!" With that she took off faster, and I increased my speed to catch up with her. "I hate those girls," Blythe said, steam practically coming out of her ears. "They're Serena's friends whenever she isn't pining after Eamon."

"Speaking of the devil," I muttered as we walked up to the office just as Eamon and Magnate Leto were exiting. Magnate Leto seemed stressed while Eamon acted a bit more carefree.

"Ah, perfect timing!" Eamon exclaimed when he noticed us. He looked to me and started to apologize, saying, "I am so sorry about what happened. I genuinely did not intend for that poop to get on anyone, so I am really sorry that you got caught in the crossfire. I am definitely not trying that ever again, and I realize that mistake."

"Thanks," I replied awkwardly, not knowing what to do.

"Am I free to go now?" He turned back to Magnate Leto, and you could just tell how not apologetic he felt about everything that had happened. I'm sure him and his friends were going to be laughing and talking about what happened in a more positive light for the next month.

"I called your parents. Straight home." He narrowed his eyes at Eamon who simply grinned and ran off into the direction of the exit. "You guys can follow me."

We sat in the office for a grueling amount of time explaining as much as we knew about the situation, answering questions as they came up. Blythe was subjected to more questioning as she was part of the planning, but I did get a question or two about any past I might have had with Eamon and also questions about my wellbeing and if I was doing okay.

Afterwards, Blythe and I exited together and continued to walk in unison towards the direction of the Leapmaster. "Do you want to come by my house sometime this week to hang out?" Blythe asked. "We can do something fun like play basequest?"

"Sounds awesome. I'd have to ask my parents though," I told her.

"Double CM?" Blythe questioned

"What?" My eyes were widened in confusion.

"Double CM," she replied. "It's the nickname for your parents that Ivan came up with." I suddenly wondered why Ivan Foster of all people would be talking about my parents. "It's because both your parents have names that start with C hence the double C, and then your last name is Madigan so that's the M."

"My parents would hate that nickname," I replied, thinking of my mother who would shudder at the 'lack of disrespect towards their professional identities.' My mother has always been a big stickler on image, hence having me attend Foxfire and running a popular restaurant servicing lots of nobles despite actively hating people who have manifested in abilities.

"Oh, I won't use it then," she replied, shrugging. "Anyways, I'll have to ask my mom and dad too. I'll try and reach you on your imparter tonight before bed for an answer. We can have lunch together tomorrow too."

"Sounds great," I replied as we reached the Leapmaster. As I was leaping home all I could think of was the fact that despite going through the most embarrassing moment of my life, I have somehow made my first ever friend because of it.

It's been a while since I've written. College is draining y'all. This past week was Spring Break and my brain has been on bed rest so to speak before school starts back up again Monday. Still I stayed up all night and figured 5am after pulling an all-nighter would be the perfect time to get sudden inspiration and start writing again. Then I went to bed and woke up at 11am where I took the time to edit it just a lil bit so it would sound less written on brink of sleep deprivation.

Ever since I got the idea that Blythe and Nova became friends after the gulon poop incident, all I could think about was writing this moment. I just had to go back and make sure by writing this I wasn't going against details I've already written previously.

I hope everyone is doing well. Just so you're aware most of my tiktok has become kotlc content if you're interested my @ is the same as pretty much everywhere: turtleswift01 personally I think I'm funny.
