Chapter 1: "Meeting Brendon's fiance?"
It was raining outside. I was soaked from trying to move boxes into my new home. I guess you could call this a start to a bad day.
I drove around town to look for a place to get coffee. Luckily, I found a Starbucks. I parked acrosss the street from Starbucks and quickly ran inside. I looked at the menu then stood in line to order.
"Excuse me?" A voice behind me said.
I turned around and smiled at the woman.
"Yes?" I said in a low voice.
"Could you please move to the side? You're blocking the menu and I'm pretty short. Haha," The woman said to me.
I simply moved to the side and was relieved my first conversation with someone here went fine.
"I'm Kylie, by the way," She said to me.
"Sarah," I said as I walked a step forward.
"Are you from here?" She asked me.
"No. I just moved here." I informed her.
"Do you like it so far?" Kylie asked me.
"I wouldn't really know. I just flew in this morning." I told Kylie right before the cashier called the next person in line.
I ordered my drink and waited to speak to Kylie again.
"I suppose you wouldn't want to sit down and chat with me for a while, would you?" Kylie asked me very politely.
"That actually sounds great considering you're my first friend here. Haha," I said as I sat down in a chair.
"What brought you here to Sin City? Hahaha," Kylie asked me as she laughed loudly.
"SIN CITY!? Hahaha," I said with a loud laugh.
"I'm just here because I wanted a new start. A new life. That kind of thing." I informed her.
Kylie glanced down at her phone.
"I'm so sorry but I should get going. My fiance is waiting for me at home," Kylie whispered to me.
"Fiance?" I questioned her.
"Yes! He is an amazing man. You need to definitely meet him one day." Kylie said to me.
We said our goodbyes and I drove back home. When I was pulling up into my driveway, I saw Kylie walking up to the house next door. I was surprised. I rushed out of my car and ran to her.
"Kylie!?" I shouted.
"Sarah! What are you doing here?" She asked.
"I live next door!" I said to her.
"Oh my god, really? You live next door to my fiance!" Kylie said.
Her fiance opened the door and she jumped into his arms.
"Whoa! Be careful! Haha," He said as she just giggled.
"Who's this?" He asked, implying to me.
"This is Sarah. I just met her this morning and I found out she lives right next to you!" Kylie said to him.
I smiled and shook his hand.
"Hi! I'm Sarah. Sarah Orzechowski," I said to him.
"I'm Brendon. Brendon Urie," He said to me.
"It's nice to meet you Brendon!" I said as I kept smiling, looking like a dork.
"Well, come inside." Brendon said as he grabbed my hand.
"Yes, come inside Sarah!" Kylie said in a needy way.
"Oh, no. I'm sorry but I'm still sort of in the process of moving in and I'm really busy." I said as I quickly walked back to my house.
"I guess I'll talk to you some other time Sarah!" Brendon shouted back to me.
I slammed my door shut and just curled up on my bed. I felt bad. I didn't want to interupt their time together and I definitely didn't want to become a third wheel.
Later that night, there was a knock on my door. I went downstairs wearing my glasses, my hair was in a messy bun, and I had my pajamas on. I opened the door to see Brendon.
"Hey Sarah. How's that moving in process going?" Brendon asked as he peeked his head inside.
I suddenly realised how I looked in front of Brendon. I quickly took off my glasses and put my hair down. I began to run my hand through my hair while I told him how everything's going.
"What are you doing? You look great with that whole 'I just woke up' look. Haha." Brendon said.
"No. I look really bad. Haha." I said as I covered my face.
"Come on. Don't say that. I don't want to see you bring yourself down and Sarah, I'm not going to let you spend the night alone. Let me in." Brendon said as a smile creeped up his lips.
I let Brendon inside and made him a cup of coffee. He plopped down on the couch and pulled out one of my board games.
"Really? A board game? Haha." I said as I sat down across of him.
"What? What's so wrong with board games? Hahaha." Brendon said as he kept laughing.
"Nothing! Haha. It's just that I haven't played one in forever." I said.
"Well, now you are so suck it up. Haha." Brendon said as he moved closer to me to put his arm around me.
We continued to play checkers for the rest of the night until I was getting sleepy.
"Hey. You. Go to sleep Sarah. I'll take you to bed." Brendon said as my eyes opened a little.
Brendon took me to my bed and put the blanket over me. I stopped him when he was starting to leave.
"Brendon." I said in a low voice.
"Yeah?" He whispered as he stood by my door.
"Stay. With me. Please." I said to him.
He took off his shoes and layed down next to me.
"Good night Sarah."
"Good night Brendon."
I wrapped my arms around Brendon. That was the first time I ever felt safe in someone's arms.
