Truth

Foxy's POV

"Wow Foxy! Congrats!" Said Freddy, congratulating me on making the football team while we all sat around our table at lunch the day after.
"Thanks Freddy." I smiled.
"I still can't buh-lieve that Toy Freddy was so cool about what happened with stinking Goldie!" Said Chica, smiling ear to ear until the reminder of what happened to Bonnie came into her mind and was replaced with a frown.
"Yeah, me neither." I sighed with a relived smile, at least I can tick getting onto the football team off my list. All that's left to do now is try and actually stay in school and not get kicked out, get good grades, and make it to the end of senior year. Easier said than done.

"Hey, look! He's coming over here with Mari!" Whisper-Shouted Bonnie in excitement, nodding to Toy Freddy and Marionette walking over to our table.

"Hey Fred, what's up?" I asked him, turning to face him slightly with a smile.
"Hey Foxy," He replied with a bright smile, "Great job yesterday, y'know I didn't take you for such a fast runner with that arm strength you got there." He chuckled nudging my biceps while the others listened in on our conversation with small chuckles, watching in awe of Toy Freddy talking to me.
Jeez, was it that big a deal?
"Yep, most people take me for the 'strong and slow' tailback, but I'm more of the fast-agile type. Guess I'm just soo multi-talented." I said sarcastically with a small smirk which made them both laugh.
"I like this guy, he's got got an overly-confident sense of humour." Marionette grinned at me while Toy Freddy rolled his eyes,
"Great, now I gotta deal with two cocky arseholes."
I stood up from my seat and grinned back to Marionette, giving me a high five. Fred let out a groan while the others laughed at us both.
"Anyway, I just came over to tell you we've got practise on Thursday and our first game is coming up against Oakmore Academy soon." Fred continued, regaining his more serious expression which grabbed my attention.

Phew, our first game coming up already? Jeez, they do not waste any time, huh?

"I figured we'd have you on running-back again, me on quarterback as usual, and Samuel, Ben, Springtrap-"

"Wait, Springtrap? He's on the team?" I said and couldn't help but sound bothered by it.
He wasn't at practise so how can he be on the team!? Like, I guessed Springtrap was tough and all, but he didn't look like the type of guy to play football. More the type of guy to beat you up in an alleyway..

"Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you, Springtrap is my co-captain. No idea where he was yesterday though." Said Fred, tapping his chin with with annoyance in his narrowed eyes, "He may not be the nicest guy, but he's a great player and he's good on defence." Said Toy Fred, not sounding too thrilled about it.

"Oh, he's a great player alright." Muttered Mari with folded up arms.
"..Sup with him?" I said to Toy Freddy who simply let out a sigh,
"Like you and most of the year group, he's not too fond of Springtrap."
"How'd you know I-" I started,
"Oh, everyone knows about that fight you got into yesterday with Spring, gotta say, colour me impressed. Lucky for you though, Springtrap isn't a snitch, but I'd advise not getting into anymore fights at school with-"

"Fond? 'Not too fond'? That's the understatement of the year! That guy is a fucking dickhead who would do everyone a favour by simply not being here." He growled, staring right into my eyes with his.
"Calm down Mari." Said Fred, rolling his eyes.
"No Fred, I won't calm down. What do you even expect? That douche is DATING MY SIS-" Before he finished, the sound of those black four-inch heels tapping against the cafeteria tiles nearing our table interrupted him. It was hard to forget those shoes, not only was their owner practically the Queen of Statton, but also the one who saved my ass yesterday after almost being completely battered by Springtrap. As Mangle stood in front of our table, I could see Chica, Bonnie and Freddy's eyes widening quickly in surprise, shuffling in their seats and sitting up straight.

Yep, this girl is definitely some form of royalty.

"Mari, what are you complaining about now? Are your jeans not skinny enough?" Mangle grinned evilly with a raised brow, looking him up and down.

Now that I think about, they are pretty skinny.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever.." Said Mari elbowing her jokingly, only for her to shove him right back. She was about to go in for another push but paused for a moment to look at me as I looked down at her, a smirk growing on her lips that mirrored mine,
"Well hello again, Mister Adams."
I chuckled and took a small step towards her and away from Marionette and Toy Freddy, both their eyes darting back and fourth from me and her,
"Good to see you again, your highness."
"Wait, 'Mister Adams'? 'Your highness'?" Mari said with a confused tone and raised eyebrow at us both, "You two have met already?"
She nodded, her eyes not leaving mine,
"Oh yeah, me and Foxy met briefly yesterday."
I chuckled rolling my eyes, "It wasn't the best of times since I was on the floor for most of it-But yep, I was lucky enough to be graced with Miss Evans' presence yesterday." I smiled, my vision being averted from Mangle to my friends who were still sitting down at the table, in awe of not only Toy Freddy and Marionette talking to me, but now Mangle Evans herself.

Wow I must be so special.
Note the sarcasm.

The loud ringing echoing through the dining hall against the loud murmurs of teenagers signalled everyone to get to class,
"Damn it..Well, see ya Foxy!" Toy Freddy called, making his way to his class along with Marionette who probably had different lessons to us since he's a senior. I nodded and gave them a small wave, turning back to my friends, "Meet you guys by the school gate after classes." I smiled to them,
"S-Sure thing, Foxy!" Freddy stuttered with a surprised grin, still staring at both me and Mangle while him, Bonnie and Chica all ran towards the hallway to get to class.
"So, what're you in now, idiot?" She smiled stifling a small laugh as she began walking towards the exit to the cafeteria, me following next to her.
"I'm in music-Wait, idiot? What, is that my new nickname?" I said with a small chuckle. Mangle rolled her eyes in response with a nod,
"Mhm. You call me your highness, I'll call you idiot."
I sighed, "Well, if that's what her highness wishes." I put my arm at the top of the double doorframe and opened up the exit doors for her to go through.
"Wow, what a gentleman." Mangle giggled in a sarcastic tone while giving me a thankful nod, "But you're in music? Same here. But I warn you, the teacher is..a lil crazy."
I looked down at her with a worried expression and raised eyebrows, "Uhh..How crazy is 'a lil'?"
"Oh, you'll see." She replied with a nervous laugh, sending me a small wink.
I gulped, oh boy.

~

When me and Mangle managed to reach the music classroom, we were immediately hit with the sound of loud murmurs and a few kids messing about on the trombones which closely resembled the sound of a band of dying elephants, "Damn, I wish I could play the trombone that good." I said jokingly before letting out a long sigh, getting me a laugh from Mangle, "They should do tutoring." She said with the same sarcasm, I nodded in agreement.
As we took two seats in the middle of the classroom at one of the tables, our attention was quickly drawn to the sudden sound of an electric guitar playing a section from Bon Jovi's 'Wanted Dead or Alive' and I could immediately feel a wide smile appearing on my face, turning my head to where it was coming from. Standing on one of the tables in the far corner was a guy holding a bright red electric guitar in his hands, hitting every note perfectly, a group of people cheering him on while standing below him shouting things like,
"G'won Bon-Bon!"

"Wooo! Go Toy Bonnie!"

"Woah, Toy B you're freakin amazing dude!"

So that must be Toy Bonnie, another member of the Toys gang. Well, Bonnie was definitely right about him being talented with music, it sounded awesome from where I was sitting and I think the class agreed with me. You could tell from the concentration on his face as he played each note that he was passionate about what he did, I mean if I was as good as him I'd be pretty frickin' passionate about it too.
As he came to the end of the song, a large smile appeared on his face and he hopped down from the table to be engulfed in a wave of claps and compliments. I whistled to myself in astonishment at how perfectly he performed the song, leaning back in my chair as I did. Mangle laughed softly, "Uh-Huh. Bon-Bon's pretty good, huh?"
"Jovi would be proud, let's just say that." I replied with a chuckle, turning to face her.
Toy Bonnie managed to make his way through the small crowd and finally take his seat next to Mangle, "Hey Mango!" He said with a small smile and a chuckle, swinging his electric guitar back onto his back.
"Hey Bon-Bon." She said with the same smile, "This is Foxy, Foxy Adams."
Toy Bonnie turned to look at me, examining my appearance up and down with a blank face with the exception of his eyes which had clear unsureness in them,
"Hmm..Lemme guess, the new bad-boy?"
Mangle nodded in response, "That's the one."
Well, guess that's what people are calling me now after what happened with Springtrap yesterday. Hey, no complaints here!
Toy Bonnie held out his hand across the table for me to shake, "Nice to meet'cha Foxy, name's Toy Bonnie, or Bon-Bon if you prefer. But if this is your second day, you've probably heard of me."
I chuckled and took his hand in mine and shook it, "Same to you, Bon. News sure gets around fast here, huh?"
Mangle and Toy Bonnie laughed before sharing a knowing look, "Now that's for sure." He nodded, sitting back in his seat, "Well I'm definitely impressed you were able to beat Spring up so bad without getting yourself knocked out." Toy Bonnie said in a fake whisper as he leant his head back to look at me behind Mangle's back, raising a hand to the side of his face to try and block his speech from Mangle's ears. She rolled her eyes,
"C'mon Bon-Bon, be nice. I know Spring can be a dick sometimes but-"
"Buuuuut..?" He said with a frown and questioning look, as if there wasn't really anything else she could say to make him seem better. "But.." She trailed off, and for a moment she actually had concern in her eyes, like she'd just realised there wasn't that much left to say about him. I mean of course he was a dick, but I kinda felt sorry for Mang. I don't know what she sees in him exactly, but you could tell she was trying to hang onto that so desperately.

Ah god, I'm gonna sound so sappy right now..

"..Maybe just try speaking to him about it?" I said speaking up, trying to make her feel better. She looked back to me with a small smile, "Thanks Foxy, but I've spoken to him about it like a hundred times and he won't listen to anything I say." She sighed, resting her head in her palm hopelessly. Our attention was drawn back to the front of the room as a tall woman entered the classroom. She wore a poofy white shirt with some black pencil trousers and red flats, her chocolate-brown hair done up into a tight bun.
That must be Miss Penny.
The teacher's expressionless face soon lit up as she entered the room, making her way to her desk and turning to us with a Cheshire Cat grin.

"Welcome everyone, to your first Music class of the semester, my name is Miss Penny!" She chirped, clapping her hands together before continuing, "Now! Before we get into the music, we're going to get to know each other a bit! I'm going to put you into pairs and you can have a chat about your hobbies, your family and stuff like that. Doesn't that sound fun?" Miss Penny said eagerly to us all with widened eyes.
The class nodded awkwardly, a choice few mumbles of reluctant "Yeahh.." 's went around the room. Mangle chuckled quietly at my expression as I felt my lips pursing together tightly in realisation;
Yep. She's crazy.
Miss Penny went under her desk for a few moments and pulled out a purple-velvet hat,
"Everyone will write down their names and put them in my 'Hat of Mystery', woooooo~!" She said, making a ghostly sound at the end.

C-r-a-z-y.

We all wrote down our names onto a slip of paper before placing them into the hat. As Miss Penny began calling out the pairs, she eventually came to the last two names in the hat; Mine and Mangle's.
I grinned to myself without hesitation as she called out our names and turned to Mangle who had the same bright smile as myself.

Dear hat of mystery, thank you.

The class all took a seat next to their partner and indistinct chatter quickly filled the room.
"So Foxy, tell me about yourself." Mangle said, turning in her seat slightly to face me and crossing one leg over the other as if she was about to interview me for a job.
"Well..I like gym, sports, rock music aaaand..That's about it." I laughed shrugging my shoulders. She huffed and crossed her arms in front of her chest,
"Oh come on! That's it? Just sports? Tell me about California, what was it like there?" She asked, leaning forward in her chair.
"Alright!" I said raising my hands up in defeat before continuing, "California was..Well, it was perfect to be honest. The scenery there is amazing; the beaches, the small towns, and the huge open fields up on the hills at sunset..They were the best." I sighed with a smile growing on my lips as those memories started to cloud my mind.
Me and my friends used to go up those hills every Friday after school back in elementary, just me, Bonnie, Chica, Freddy and..Goldie.
Goldie.
Damn it, why did he have to change? What happened to the old Golden Freddy who would always look out for us, always laugh and mess about with us. Even if he was only a year older than us, he'd take care of us like we were all family. We practically were family..
I shook my head to snap me out of my thoughts and looked back down at Mangle who was leaning on the table with her head back in her palm, looking up at me with a sweet smile.
I chuckled slightly, "But yeah California was pretty great."
She nodded and looked down slightly, "It sounds amazing, I love the city n'all but it must be nice to be somewhere with less buildings and people and stress all the time." Mangle sighed, looking back up to me, "Why did you move?"
I let out a long breath, I should've seen that one coming..
Guilt instantly swept across her face, "You don't have to talk about it if-"
"No, it's cool. I don't mind," I said trying to reassure her, "I just haven't really talked about it in a while."
She smiled at me with those shining blue eyes of hers..God, to say that her eyes were blue was like saying that the sun was yellow. Sufficient but not accurate to capture the indescribable yet so obvious burning surrounding it.
I don't know why, but I felt like I could trust her, she had a look of understanding about her..
I mustered up all the courage I had and began to speak, "When I lived back in Cali, I lived with both my parents. When I got to about six or seven, I could clearly tell that they were fighting more often." Mangle stared at me with knowing yet sympathetic eyes as I continued, nodding slightly for me to go on,
"So..One day when I woke up..There was a removal van outside and that's when I realised..Crap, they were splitting up."
My eyes were now staring at the floor as I desperately tried to seem as nonchalant as possible, a storm of emotions swirling inside my head.
Anger, sadness, confusion- The longer I thought about my Mom and Dad splitting up..Like they didn't even care about what I felt or without even telling me..The emotions only seemed to swirl out of control even more-
But, as I felt two arms wrap around me the tops of my shoulders, it's like they all disappeared..All those bad thoughts and feelings, they just went away as I was pulled into a tight hug.
I turned my head ever so slight to see Mangle as she unwrapped her arms from me, looking down at me with not a pitying look or a saddened one, but one of understanding,
"Foxy I'm..Really sorry. That must've been really hard for you and your Mom."
"It was for a while, but I guess I just realised one day that I couldn't do anything about it. My Father never bothered to visit me, he didn't try calling or anything. When I'd gone about five birthdays straight without a birthday card from my Dad, I knew I shouldn't bother getting myself down about it anymore if he didn't give a shit about me." I sighed. It sounded harsh, but it was true and I've learned to just get over it. The world is harsh, I should just get used to that, because it's not going to change anytime soon.
She sighed, "Losing parents is really shit, and it can take years to get over it, that's if you even do get over it..But that's why you have your friends. They help you through all of it, and I know I sound like the school counsellor right now, but it's true. Friends are the people you choose to have in your life because you love 'em and you trust them with anything." She laughed softly with a warm smile. I chuckled and nodded to her with the same expression, "Yeah, I get you. That's exactly what I think..Thanks Mang. For the advice and letting me vent."
"Anytime Foxy, I know how it feels-" She said softly before stopping mid-sentence with widened eyes and slapping a hand over her own mouth.

*Ringgggg~*

As the bell rang, her eyes winced shut regrettably while I stared at her with a confused, and also kinda-extremely worried expression, "Hey Mang, are you okay?"
She looked back up to me slightly before Miss Penny decided to pipe up from the front of the classroom.

Real convenient, Miss Penny..

"Well class, looks like we're out of time! I'll see everyone on Thursday!" Said Miss Penny. I quickly looked back to Mangle who had stood up out her chair, hurriedly slinging her black faux-leather handbag over her shoulder. Mangle practically sprinted out of the classroom before I even had a chance to talk to to her. I leapt up from my seat and tried to catch up with her in the hallways, but just as I made it to the door, I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Toy Bonnie, stopping me from going any further out the classroom.
"Let her go Foxy." He said with a sigh and shaking his head as he watched her run down the hallways.

Was he listening to us?

I walked slowly out the class room, hoping to at least get another look at her.
"Mangle.." I whispered under my breath, the fire exit doors slamming behind her and the corridors were filled with hoards of teenagers once more.
