Dinner Pt.2

Mangle's POV

"It's my Mother..She..She died when I was twelve." I stuttered nervously, struggling to say it without those horrible memories coming back into my mind.

*Flashback*
Five and a half years ago.

I sat outside the hospital room next to my big brother Mari on a blue plastic chair, these seats always annoyed me..They were too high to touch the ground and too short to be at all comfortable. Or maybe I'm just picky and trying to distract myself..

I waited, I hoped, I prayed for my Mother to be okay, I just wanted her to walk out of there smiling that beautiful smile of hers, being her usual cheerful, confident self. My Mom had this heart disease that the doctors said was a type of Arrhythmia, like I'm supposed to know what that means! Don't they know I'm twelve, not twenty one!
..But Mom does get heart problems a lot..Her heart beats too fast sometimes at random points in the day and there's nothing she or we can do about it except take her to the doctors, and lately it's gotten worse.
I just..I don't get how they could've let it get this bad! They knew she was ill but they just let her get so unwell and now..And now I don't know what might happen to her!
I can't lose my Mom..She's important to me..Mari, Dad and I can't work without her and she's not just my Mother she's..She's my best friend.
I sniffled ever so slightly and wiped the corners of my eyes quickly. Marionette sat up from his chair and walked in front of my mine, kneeling slightly so he was eye level with me.
"Hey..Don't cry, okay? Mom's gonna be fine. The doctors will take care of her." He said with a serious yet soft tone and reassurance in his eyes, "I know it's hard right now but..Be brave for Mom, sis."
I paused for a while and pondered his words before nodding quickly and straightening my posture, "I will." I said trying to sound as brave as I could. He smiled at me with an approving nod and stood up properly, "Thatta' girl, Mang." I smiled to him, I'm lucky I have Mari with me. If I didn't, I'd quite positively be a mess right now and that wouldn't help anyone.

The sound of a loud alarm coming from Mom's room filled the hallways, and as doctors and nurses ran into the room me and Marionette shared a look of fear.
Dad opened the door to Mom's room and made his way over to us with the same fearful expression.
"D-Dad what's happening? Why are they all in Mom's room? Will she be okay?" Mari asked, looking up at our Dad with pleading eyes. He let out a sigh and knelt down to us both,
"I'm not sure, son. I'm sorry.."
My eyes landed back onto Mom's hospital room door, the sound of the alarm still filling the hallways and ringing in my ears.
My heart was racing, my eyes tearing up and my entire body shaking.
All I could keep telling myself was,
She'll be okay. She'll be okay. She'll be okay.

Suddenly, the alarm stopped ringing and it seemed like there was silence throughout the whole building. I felt a shiver go down my spine as a feeling of emptiness seemed to hit me like a truck, my mind going blank and body frozen still.
A single doctor walked out of the room and looked down at our Father with saddened eyes and exhausted face. Dad stood up from the floor and turned to the doctor,
"I-Is she..?" He said with dread filling up his voice. The doctor nodded, "..I'm so sorry, Roger." He replied, bringing his hand up to his head and slowly walking away from us down the hallways as Dad watched him walk away. His eyes slowly shut as he buried his face in his palms and without a word needed, I knew that this was the last day I'd ever see my Mom. I knew that there would always be an empty seat at the dinner table and at my dance recitals now. I knew I wouldn't be able to see her smile or hear her laugh or feel her embrace ever again. I knew my Mother was gone.

S-She's gone..

*End of Flashback*

A small silence filled the air after I'd explained what happened to my Mom, Foxy was stunned. He looked into my eyes with a sympathetic look and an agape jaw, he shook his head slowly as if in disbelief, "M-Mang.." He let out a small sigh, "I'm so sorry.."
I rubbed the corners of my eyes quickly to prevent any more tears from flowing out my eyes before replying, "I-It's okay Foxy.." I said, looking down at the crystal blue waters of the pool beneath us as we sat on the side.
I felt him place his hand gently on my shoulder, "Hey, you're really brave, you know that right?" I looked up at him as he spoke in a soft tone and I couldn't help but smile slightly at his amiability; he'd been so kind to me and treated me like a friend, not many guys are this sweet having only known them for a couple days. Of course Foxy was sarcastic, he was funny, definitely a charmer, handsome-
I mean..Uhh..
Okay, I can't deny that Foxy is quite possibly undoubtedly good looking, but that's not why I like him. I mean-Not like like, I mean like-
Ugh, the point is, he's a really decent guy and even though I only met him this week I can tell we're going to be close.
Friends. Close Friends.

"Heh, I am?" I chuckled quietly, sniffling ever so slightly while looking up at him with a less-saddened look. Foxy nodded to me with a genuine smile,
"Mhm. I mean, you're at this stuck-up dinner still, right? I don't know many people who could manage that after today."
I smiled, with another small chuckle,
"Thanks Foxy. For that, and for being here tonight. Otherwise I'd probably be eating cookie dough ice cream in bed right now, or finding some pizza."
He laughed at me and nodded, "Yeah, me too.." He paused for a while still with a smile, before it quickly grew into a small mischievous smirk, "Y'know we could just ditch this dinner thing." Foxy said nodding to the house behind us where chatter and laughter could be heard with the faint sound of cutlery clinking together against china plates.
I pondered it for a while but soon felt myself mirroring his smirk, "Hell yes, let's go."
Foxy stood up off the stone tiles next to the pool while I lifted out my legs from the water and put my painfully high-heels back on my feet. Once I'd finished fiddling with the straps for a while, Foxy leant out his hand for me still with that classic smirk on his face. I felt the heat rise to my cheeks ever so slightly and tried to ignore it but..Damn it, why does this guy have such an effect on me?
I took his hand in mine with a smile and he helped me up off the floor,
"Wow, maybe we should change your name to gentleman." I said rolling my eyes with a small laugh. He chuckled, looking down at me and crossing his arms in front of his chest with a raised brow, "Whatever her highness wishes."
I huffed and began walking towards the garage, "Nope, idiot definitely suits you."
I heard him laugh behind me before catching up to me with the same playful grin.

Foxy's POV

As we snuck around the side of the house to a large garage, Mangle unlocked the large door with a set of keys she grabbed on the way over to reveal a bright white illuminated room with plain black flooring, filled with multiple cars and limos.
Jeez, it's like a rich-people's car convention in here, what is this, their parking lot?
She began walking to the the far side of the garage and approached a polished silver grey Aston Martin with small metallic letters reading 'DB11' on the very back of the car.

Holy shit..

"Tell me that's not your car.." I said in disbelief, my eyes scanning over every curve and highlight on the car before me. Mangle looked at me with a small smirk before holding a pair of car keys up so I could see, pressing a button on them causing the cars headlights to flash.
"Mhmm." She giggled, "Now c'mon! Get in, we're getting that pizza."
I hopped into the car without hesitation while she took the drivers seat next to me, intently looking around the interiors at the smooth cream leather seats and shiny-black dashboards that seemed to contrast all the colours perfectly.
"Okay, but drive quick before I decide to steal this freakin car."
Mangle folles her eyes at me with a laugh, "Sure thing, idiot."

~

The car came to a sudden stop outside some kind of run-down diner place in town. I thought she was joking, but she actually got out the car and started walking in. I jogged after her into the greasy smelling restaurant, surprised it was still open, it looked so..old.
"Hey your highness, you sure this is the right place? Don't you eat at..I dunno, The Ritz or something?"
She rolled her eyes at me as we walked over to the counter, "I'm hungry and this is the closest place so don't judge, just order." She said turning to me with a childish pout on her lips as I heard an obvious rumble come from her stomach, "Okay, Okay.." I huffed, walking to the front of the counter to where the cashier was.
"Your order.." Said a grumpy looking guy with faded purple hair and skin whiter than the tiles on the floor, well, minus the grease stains of course. Looking at him properly, I quickly recognised him as that Vincent guy from school, the other moron who hangs out with Goldie and Springtrap..And my night was going so well.
He raised both his brows as he looked us up and down, "The hell are you guys doin' here?"
I rolled my eyes at him, "Getting food, last time I checked that's what people usually do when they come to diners."
Mangle laughed at my comment slightly under her breath, looking down trying to hide it.
Vincent frowned with a look of irritation,
"No, really? I mean what are you both doing here together?"
I raised an eyebrow at him quizzically, "Uh, again, we're getting food. Can we order now?"
Vincent's eyes darted from me to Mangle a couple times, the corners of his mouth slowly pulling into a conniving grin, "Does Springtrap know about this, Mangle?"
I felt my jaw clench in annoyance at his question, but looking down at Mangle I could tell she was even more irritated by it as she replied, "No, Vincent. He doesn't. Why, is that a problem?" She hissed.
He chuckled raising his hands in the air with a sarcastic smile, "No, no, of course not. What you do when he's not there is your business, but I guess he and the guys were right about you."
I felt my eyebrows lowering with every vexing word that left Vincent's lips, my fists quickly clenching underneath the counter getting ready to punch him right across the jaw to shut him up.
Mangle crossed her arms in front of her chest with a hostile look in her eyes, indicating Vincent to choose his next response very wisely or else I'm pretty sure Mangle might beat me to the punch.
"Oh you mean all those dickheads who sit at the table with you and Goldie? Tell me, just what are they saying about me? Something tells me I'm not going to be flattered."
Vincent looked down at the cash register with an amused look on his face before looking up, "Nearly all of us call you a slut, but the rest call you the whoare of Statton."
I felt Mangle flinch next to me slightly at his words, the same anger remaining in her eyes as she quickly shook it off with a swift roll of the eyes, "Wow, so imaginative. Tell them I said thanks," Vincent's once smug expression turned to disappointment at her nonchalant response, Mangle turned to me with a honeyed smile that I could tell she was doing her best to muster, "C'mon Foxy, this place is full of crap." Mangle glanced at Vincent as she spoke, his brows lowering as she did. I nodded in agreement and couldn't help but smirk at her comment as we both made our way to the door.
Just as I opened it up for Mang and we were about to leave, Vincent's voice coming from behind us caught our attention once again,
"Oh no Mang, it's your boyfriend you should be thanking for that imaginative nickname."
Mangle froze in her tracks and I saw her eyes instantly widen as Vincent spoke, her mind racing to things I'm sure she didn't want to think about Springtrap but petrified they were true. She shook her head and without giving Vincent another look, she stormed out of the diner with her hands clenched together to form fists. As I saw Mangle get back into the car after slamming the door behind her, I turned back to Vincent with an angered look and marched right up to the front of the cash register and grabbed tightly onto his collar to bring him forward, "Listen up Vin, if you wanna keep your bones not broken, you'll keep that mouth of yours shut and leave her the fuck alone, alright?" I hissed with a grim look in my eyes as I glared into his, not caring if the entirety of the diner was now staring at me. He stared back at me with with a fearful expression and nodded nervously. With that I let go of his collar, forcefully throwing him backwards, Vincent nearly toppling over to the floor in the process. I walked back to the car and opened up the door, closing it behind me before sitting back in the passengers seat. Looking over to Mangle I saw her leaning her elbow on the window and resting her head on her palm, the other hand gripping the wheel. Her face was blank, emotionless, but her eyes were still filled with that same fearfulness from a minute ago.
I looked at her for a few seconds with a saddened expression for her before asking the dumbest question in the world, "You okay, Mang?"
She paused for a few seconds as she pondered the question before replying while shaking her head, "No idea."
"I wouldn't trust any crap that Vincent comes out with Mang, he was probably trying to get under your skin." I tried to reassure her, even though a small part of me kinda thought that shitty nickname those idiots gave Mangle just might be the kind of crap Spring would come up with since he's such a brainless dickhead.

She let out a sigh, "I don't know Foxy..I'm so used to Springtrap's friends saying all kinds of shit about him and stuff that he apparently says about me, that I've stopped questioning it-" She paused, turning to me with fearful eyes, "I'm so used to it that I'm not sure what's true and what isn't anymore..I don't know when to be angry with him or what to think he does or-" I could tell she'd been holding this in for a while just by the panicked tone in her voice..Poor Mang.
I placed a hand on her shoulder and looked her right in the eyes with a reassuring look,
"Hey, Hey-It's Okay, Mang." She took in a few large breaths and let her shoulders sink, looking down at her lap with a saddened expression.
"I get it, I really do. But Mang even if some of the shit he or his friends say is true or not, you can't let him get away with saying stuff like that behind your back." I told her softly, the last thing I wanted to do was to upset her, but it's hard seeing her being hurt by this relationship she's in with Springtrap. She sighed, her gaze not leaving her lap as thoughts ran through her brain. I've only known her for a couple days now, but I really hate seeing Mangle so disheartened or in anyway sad. It's as if seeing her like this makes me feel just as, if not even more sad..I-I can't help it though, once you've seen that bright angelic smile of hers full of joy and those mesmerising blue eyes that lit up whenever she was happy, it's like you never want to see them taken away from her.
I sighed and brought my hand underneath her chin gently, lifting it up so her gaze would meet with mine, "You don't deserve that."
She looked at me for a few seconds with a blank expression and thought it over for a while, the smallest smile soon appearing on her lips as she nodded to me, "Thank you Foxy.."
I nodded and gave her a smile before lifting my hand away, a part of me almost not wanting to.
She sighed, straightening her posture in her seat as she plugged in her belt, I did the same.
"So, where's a good place to eat without any distractions this time?" She chuckled, starting up her engine as she began reversing out the parking lot. An idea suddenly appeared in my head, "I know a place, just go where I tell you, okay?"
She nodded and gave me a small smirk, "Y'know it I didn't trust you so much Mister Adams, then I'd say you were gonna take me to some alleyway and steal my car."
I chuckled at her comment and flashed her a grin as she drove,
"Don't give me ideas, Miss Evans."

~

We eventually reached a restaurant along a street hidden between various other buildings with cyan blue painted wood on the exterior accompanied by two large windows and potted trees either side of the entrance doors. A black overhang hung over the tops of the doorway and windows with the words 'Fazzerick's' in white bold letters. The last time I saw this restaurant was when I was in California, before Freddy's parents must've opened up a new place in New York. I smiled looking up at it from the street with a wave of nostalgia suddenly hitting me and filling my mind, only making my smile widen.
"Fazzerick? I swear I know that name.." Mangle said as she got out the car parked outside of the restaurant.
"I'm guessing you do, my friend's family owns it and he goes to Statton. His name is Freddy Felix Fazzerick. Kind've a mouthful." I chuckled approaching the door, opening it up the sound of a small bell rang to indicate a customer had entered the diner.
Mangle followed after me, looking around at the interior. The flooring was oak wood with chairs and tables dotted around the place to match and candles lit all around the restaurant that gave off a nice aroma. The walls were painted the same faded cyan blue as outside, but the pictures dotted around the place along with the white sofas and old worn red rugs in corners of the room created lots of warm accents.
Hmm..Maybe I should be one of those interior designer people? Maybe listening to my Mom going on about all her property-business stuff has paid off.
We walked up to the counter to be greeted with a surprised looking Freddy, looking at me and Mangle in our overly-formal attire with raised brows, "H-Hey you guys! Uhh..There's no suit and tie rule I don't think." He chuckled at us both. I rolled my eyes at him with a smile, "Yeah well we started at this business dinner party thing and we had to get out of it. Got anything here that isn't Caviar, Chef Freddy?" I asked playfully while resting my arms on the counter. He crossed his arms in front of his chest with a confident smirk, "I can probably whip something up. Why don'tcha take a seat already and I'll come serve you in a sec."
We both nodded and he walked us over to a table by the window with a small candle lit in the centre. Mangle took a seat and I tucked it in for her as she did, she smirked at me and then to Freddy before I sat down in my own,
"Tell me Freddy; He always this much of a gentleman?"
Freddy laughed, "Oh never, the closest he got to being a gentleman was.." Freddy tapped his chin a couple times and eventually shook his head, "I'll get back to you on that one, I guess that makes you special, Mangle." He chuckles giving me a wink over his shoulder as he walked away. I rolled my eyes at him and mumbled, "Jerk."
Mangle giggled at the both of us and gave me a cheesy smile while leaning her head in her hands, "Aww I'm special."
I leant back in my seat and chuckled, "Yeah, yeah..You're special." I rolled my eyes and looked into a far corner of the room, avoiding eye contact as I felt myself beginning to blush slightly. Damn it, not again.
Mangle laughed at me, resting her head in her palm and opening her mouth to say something but the sound of her phone ringing beneath the table interrupted her and caught both our attention. She brought it up to the side of her face, "Hello?" She said sending me a guilty look and mouthing 'Sorry' to me. I sent her a smile and shook my head to let her know I didn't mind. She returned the smile but it quickly curved into a frown at the sound of angry shouting on the other end of the phone.
"Spring, slow down a sec-", She was stopped mid sentence by a lot of shouting through the phone.
Ugh, what does this dumbass want now?
I gave Mangle a look of concern as she got up out her seat, clutching the phone to her ear she whispered the words, "I'll be right back.."
I nodded in response as she walked to the door talking into the phone and shutting it behind her before stepping outside.
Freddy walked out of the kitchen and began making his way over to our table with one large cheese pizza sprinkled with basil and tomatoes with its freshly cooked scent filling my nostrils.
A part of me wanted to grin from ear to ear and stuff one whole half of the pizza right into my mouth, but my eyes were drawn to Mangle once again, standing outside the restaurant and clearly arguing with Springtrap over the phone about something. It's like everything that could've gone wrong tonight has gone wrong..First what happened in music, then what happened with Mangle and her Mom because of what happened in music, then stupid Vincent at the diner, and now Springtrap is ruining Mang's night without even physically being here.
Jeez, is it Friday the 13th or something?
I saw Freddy raise a brow at me out the corner of my eye, "Um, hello? I've just made you the best damn pizza in town, a little acknowledgement maybe?" He said placing a hand on his hip before following my gaze to see Mangle stood outside on the phone.
He asked worriedly, "Everything okay?"
I shook my head and looked up at Freddy in cluelessness, "I don't get it, Freddy. How does she not see that she deserves so much better than that jerk?"
Freddy placed a hand on my shoulder and looked me right in the eyes as he spoke,
"Love, man. It's pretty powerful. It blinds people to the point where they'd do anything to stay with the person they love..Even if that person is Springtrap."
Freddy was always the wisest of the group, even when we were young he gave the best advice. I hated it, but he was right. As much as you want to, you can't change the way someone's heart works.
I nodded my head reluctantly and rest my head against my hand in defeat, "You're right as usual, Freddy. I just..She doesn't know how special she is." Freddy grabbed the chair opposite me as I watched on as Mangle continued to row over the phone with her dickhead boyfriend that made her so unhappy.
"You really care about her, don't you dude?" Freddy spoke with seriousness in his voice and slanted eyebrows of empathy.
I let out a long breath and sat back in my chair shaking my head, "I know I've only known her for what, half a week? But..She's amazing, Freddy. She's so kind and caring and sweet and funny and beautiful and.." I paused, thinking over the endless list of words I could use to describe how I felt about Mangle, but none of them seemed to do her justice. She was perfect.
"Freddy, no-one has ever had this effect on me before..Whats happening to me?" I turned to him with desperate eyes and lowered brows.
He chuckled quietly under his breath, examining my face with a small sympathetic smile, "Love, man. It's a pretty powerful thing." He said intentionally repeating his words, and with that it finally dawned on me;

I love her..I love her.

I was silent for a few seconds with mine and his own words running over and over about a million miles per hour in my brain, so fast it was beginning to spin out of control.
"Shit.." I said silently, running my fingers through my hair and my eyes widening ever so slightly for a moment, "I love her."
Freddy glanced at Mangle still outside on the phone then back to me, "Foxy Adams in-love. Huh.." He paused still with a small smile on his face, "Never thought I'd say that."
"What do I do, man? I'm in-love with a girl who's in-love with someone else."
Freddy sighed, "Foxy, I know what I said before but that-"
He said nodding towards the lengthy windows near the exit door which you could clearly see Mangle through. She shouted one last exasperated shout down the phone before furiously hanging up, staring down at her screen for a few split seconds before burying her face in her hands hiding her emotionally exhausted expression from both me and Freddy.
"That isn't Love. And I think Mangle is starting to realise that. Just give her time, dude." Freddy continued as I turned to look back to Mangle, a frown quickly appearing on my face at the sight of her being so upset..It was just so hard to look at. I just wanted to run straight outside into the evening summers air and hold her in my arms to tell her everything was okay..But I couldn't. As much as I cared about her, I knew it wasn't my place.
I saw her quickly wipe the corners of her eyes and let out a long exhale before making her way back inside the restaurant.
"Thanks for the talk Freddy, and also the pizza. It looks amazing as usual." I said turning back to him with a thankful nod and a weak smile. "Anytime Foxy." He sighed with the same smile, patting me on the back as he walked away back to the kitchen. Mangle took her seat once again at the table with a forced smile but her eyes were red enough to tell she was upset, "Hey, sorry about that-Oh look, our food's here!"
I nodded to her, clearly seeing through the facade she was putting up all of a sudden, "Yeah, Freddy always makes the best pizzas.." I smiled ever so slightly before looking her in the eyes with seriousness, "..Mang what happened with Springtrap?"
She stared right back into my eyes with that smile of hers soon fading into a frown as she let out a sigh of defeat, "Vincent told Springtrap that I was at the diner with you earlier and he started going off on one at me because he said I was supposed to be at Dad's dinner party tonight, which I asked him to
come to last week and he still didn't show up tonight after telling me he would, and he thought I lied to him about where I was intentionally."

Of course he did, that's just so Springtrap.

"After explaining why we were at the diner and telling him that I had a breakdown in school today because of what happened to my Mom and telling him I actually really needed him tonight, and also about what Vincent said to me in the diner, he just started yelling how whiney I was being. Plus he was completely pissed off at me for thinking he'd call me that, and how I apparently had no right to be mad at him!" She explained, her voice beginning to raise as angry tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
I couldn't help but stare at her in shock, my hands clenching info fists out of Mangle's sight underneath the table at the thought of Springtrap saying any of that crap to her.

WAS HE FOR REAL?!

"A-And the worst part is he didn't even deny calling me a whoare." She said, her voice now cracking in between words.
Screw this.
I quickly moved my chair round one corner of the table in a swift motion, wrapping my arms firmly around the tops of her shoulders as she rested her head against my shoulder, practically sobbing her heart out as I rest my head on top of hers. I slowly stroked the back of her head and let her cry it out, I'm guessing she really needed a shoulder to cry on after being with Springtrap for so long, since he clearly never has been a shoulder for her to cry on..
"Let it out, Mang." I said quietly before letting out a sigh as she continued to cry against my shirt.
"F-Foxy wh-why a-am I like t-this, h-how does he always m-manage t-to make me feel so
s-shit about m-myself?" She stuttered breathlessly between muffled sobs.
"I wish I knew, Mang, I'm really sorry. He shouldn't make you this upset or treat you like this either."

I eventually managed to calm Mangle down after reassuring and comforting her the best I could. We ate our pizza without anymore tears being shed, after she regained her composure, I managed to make her laugh ever so slightly by sticking two breadsticks in my mouth and pretending to be a walrus, ignoring the weird looks from the other two couples in the restaurant. I really didn't give a damn as long as it made Mangle smile.
That was all I cared about.
I payed the bill when Mangle wasn't looking since she insisted on paying, as if I was gonna tarnish my gentleman repertoire with Mang by letting her pay for the meal.
"Idiot." I heard her mumble as I handed Freddy fifteen dollars along with the receipt with a smirk on my lips,
"Guess you're just too slow for this idiot."
We both laughed before getting up from our chairs and saying goodbye to Freddy while thanking him for the meal, leaving the restaurant and getting back into the car.
The drive home was quiet, not awkward in anyway, just..quiet. Me and Mangle reflected on the night's events, mainly on the positive ones. I can tell that ditching that dinner party was a good memory made, one that seemed to bring me and Mangle a lot closer and make her happier, despite what happened with Vincent and Springtrap.
"I'm sorry I kinda ruined the night.." She sighed, driving down a few streets lined with tall buildings slowly getting smaller as we neared my neighbourhood with white painted and red brick houses.
I shook my head, "Mang, you're only human and any normal person would completely break down if they'd have put up with what you had, but you didn't. You kept a straight face when Vin said what he said to you in the diner, and you confronted that dickhead boyfriend of yours tonight for what he said. You should be proud of yourself."
She slowed down the car and pulled up outside my house, giving me a smile that made this entire night worth the small bumps along the way, "Thank you, Foxy. For that and for tonight. You're a pretty amazing idiot." She chuckled softly. I returned the smile and nodded to her, "Anytime, Mang. I had a lot more fun than I was intending to when I came to that dinner party."
"We should hang out again sometime." She said with the same smile on her lips.
"I'd like that." I replied, staring at her for just a few seconds more with a widening smile before getting out the car, walking down the stone pathway to my front door and unlocking it with the front key as I heard the car drive away behind me. As I finally managed to unlock to door and get into the house, I let out a tiered sigh, a sheepish grin plastered on my face and turned on the lights only to reveal an angry looking mother sitting on a step of our wide fleet of stairs with crossed legs and arms.
"Before I completely lose it with you for disappearing from the dinner party tonight, tell me where in God's name you were?" She said with a blank tone, standing up from the steps and walking towards me.
I rolled my eyes with a frown, "I was getting dinner with my friend, Mangle."
She raised both her brows in surprise, "Mangle? As in Mangle Evans? Roger's daughter?! So that's where you both were! Roger and I were both worried sick about the both of you, he was about to call the police last time I spoke to him!" She said raising her voice, gripping the sleeves of her dressing gown in furiousness.
"Wait, the police?" I said worriedly taking a few steps towards her away from the door.
Shit I hope I didn't get Mang in trouble tonight.
"Yes, young man, the police. You're lucky I'm exhausted or I'd be lecturing you all night, now get to bed." She huffed, nodding towards the stairs. I simply nodded in response, trying my best not to piss her off anymore than I already had.
"..Sorryyy Mooom, Love youuuu, Mooom." I said with a nervous grin as I stood outside my bedroom door. Oldest damn trick in the book.
She rolled her eyes, clearly seeing right through my attempt to make her forget how angry she was at me for running away with Mang tonight.
"Mhm, of course you do." She replied, slamming her bedroom door behind her without another word.
Worth a shot at least.
I practically collapsed onto my bed after entering my room, not bothering to change out of this damn suit I'd been wearing all night.
Even though I was a tiered mess right now, that couldn't get rid of the smile on my face. All I could think about was Mangle and everything that happened tonight.
I'd never met anyone quite like her, but not a single part of me regrets meeting her.
A sudden beep noise came from my phone beneath me. I grabbed the phone out my pocket with a raised brow to see a text message on my screen, after unlocking it and checking the message I saw it was from Mangle. It read;

Hey idiot, I got your number from Freddy earlier. Thanks again for tonight I had a really great time, especially enjoyed that walrus impression of yours. Hope you weren't in as much trouble as me when you got back lol :P -M

I chuckled slightly under my breath and started messaging her back with a smile on my face,

Hey your highness, yeah 2night was awesome. Glad you enjoyed it, sorry I got you in trouble tonight though Mang, please forgive this walrus ;-; -F

I definitely gotta remember that walrus thing for future reference..
Another beeping noise came from my phone and another text from Mangle appeared.

Lmao nah dw about it, I forgive this walrus. See you tomoz Foxy, night! 😙

I replied with,
G'night your highness, see you in hell- I mean 'school' tomorrow :')

Before placing my phone next to me on my nightstand and switching off the lamp, letting myself sink into my bed and fall asleep.
