Chapter 32
If the Lord can do great things with a single leaf,
Imagine what He can do with a single life.

"Breakfast!" Mandy called as she rang the bell.
Amilee ran into the room, barely missing the counter as she crashed into a chair.
"Ami, slow down." Mandy tried to keep from laughing as she reprimanded her daughter.
"Ethan is sick." Amilee announced gleefully, watching as Mandy's eyes widened.
She turned to her brother, who had just walked into the room. "What's wrong with Ethan?" She asked.
Caleb looked puzzled. "Why would something be wrong with Ethan?" He asked as he took a seat beside Amilee.
"He's sick. Remember, he was coughing?" Amilee told him.
It was Caleb's turn to hold back a laugh. "He isn't sick, and he wasn't coughing. He was trying to clear his throat." Caleb explained.
Mandy looked relieved. "Good!" She exclaimed as Ethan and Jason walked into the kitchen.
"What's the plan for today?" Caleb asked as he put some pancakes onto his plate.
"Garage saleing!" Amilee yelled.
"Ami." Mandy warned.
"Sorry Mommy. I'm just excited. We haven't been to a garage sale for a long time!" Amilee replied.
"What are we looking for?" Caleb asked.
Mandy pointed to the counter, where a pad of paper sat. "I made a list. But mostly, any furniture that is affordable and in good condition."
"How many garage sales are we going to?" Jason asked as he set his now-empty plate on the counter.
"I found six that are all an hour or less from here. Of course, if we find too much, we will stop early." Mandy replied as she took a bite of her pancakes.
"Daddy, can you get Mommy's sewing machine out?" Amilee asked Caleb.
Caleb grinned as he looked over at his sister. "So you have more plans than just furniture." He remarked.
Mandy blushed as she took a sip of orange juice. "I really hope we can find some tables and chairs for the dining room." She said.
Caleb shook his head. Mandy was an expert at redirecting conversations. "I'll go get that machine out before we go."
An hour later, the five of them piled into the van. "Where to first?" Caleb, who was driving, asked.
Mandy looked at the addresses she had written down. "Washmere Street, it shouldn't be too far from here." She decided.
Ethan, who was in the middle row of the van, decided he rather liked that word. "Wash-mom. Wash-mom!" He chanted.
"Ethan, its wash-mere, not wash-mom." Amilee corrected from the backseat. "Right Mommy?"
Mandy, who was sitting next to Amilee, smiled at her daughter. "Yes, that's how it's pronounced." She agreed.
"Look!" Ethan yelled, pointing to the sale.
"Good job buddy!" Caleb told him, then parked the van on the side of the street. "Ethan, Amilee, make sure you stay close to an adult." He reminded them.
"Ok." Amilee said, unbuckling her seat belt.
The five of them walked across the street, then Amilee and Mandy continued on to look at the other ideas for sale, while Caleb, Jason and Ethan checked out the furniture.
"Do we need more barstools?" Jason asked, as he looked around.
"We have three, and I don't think there is room for anymore." Caleb replied as he tested a matress.
"Mommy!" Amilee whispered to Mandy, who was on the other side of the garage.
"What did you find?" Mandy asked as she walked over to her.
Amilee pointed to a floral print dress. "This is pretty." She said.
Mandy felt the fabric. "This one would probably work. Are you sure the flowers aren't too big?"
Amilee looked at the dress, which was probably even too big for Mandy to fit. "I like it." She replied.
Mandy smiled as she took the dress off the rack. "Ok, this will work. If you can find some jeans, I could make you a new pair of overalls."
"Ethan too?" Amilee asked.
"Maybe." Mandy replied as she began looking through the racks of old clothing.
