AT THE HOSPITAL
Manik carried Manan and placed him on the stretcher. After a tiny interrogation session by the doctors, they took Manan to the operation theatre . Manic then went towards Nandini. All the girls were trying to console the poor soul who was crying bitterly. He walked towards her and hugged her tightly. She reciprocated it by hugging him back with equal amount of pressure. Everyone out there were crying seeing the couple cry bitterly.

AFTER TWO HOURS
The doctor exited the operation theatre which was adjacent to the ICU unit. All of them ran to him.

Manik: How is he doctor? Is he alright?
Doctor: I am really sorry Mr. Malhotra but the patient is in a very critical stage. We can't say anything.  You will have to wait for the next 9 hours. Only then we can give you a steady report of the patient.

This was it for Nandini. She couldn't bare it. Within no time the surroundings became dark and she fell down shutting her eyes, only to be caught by Manik. She had fainted.

Manik (panicking): Get some water.

Cabin ran with Navya at his heels. Manik sat on the waiting chair with Nandini in his arms. Even the doctor and the others crowded them. Cabin came with a glass of water. Manic snatched it with his hands and sprinkled it on Nandini. There was no response.

Manik: Why isn't she responding doctor.
Doctor: Get her to another room. it might be some other reason.
Manik: You guys stay her with Manan. I'll be back.

Everyone else nodded.

IN THE ROOM
The doctor checked her up and prescribed some medicines.

Manik: What happened to my Nandini, doctor?
Doctor: Her BP went low. Might be due to her sons accident. Don't worry she will wake up soon in a matter of 8 to 9 hours as it is a high dose of anaesthesia. Anyways, get the medicines. Till then I will check your son.

With this both the men left for their respective tasks.

AFTER 9 HOURS
A nurse ran out of the ICU Unit and yelled the most awaited surprise.
Nurse: Listen, your son Manan has regained his consciousness and he is now out of danger.

All of them who were sitting with dull faces, had got up and ran into the room with utter happiness. Only two were not present. Manan's parents, his Mom and dad and his little princess who was in his moms tummy.

IN THE ICU
FAB8 and the others had already decided to not crowd around. So only 2 people sat beside him and that was his dadi, Neyonika and his favourite uncle, Cabir. Manan Slowly opened his eyes and started his search for his mother who was his most precious possession. He had expected her to sit beside him but to his dismay, she wasn't there. All the others present in the room started worrying as they knew that Manan will soon loose his temper once he finds out that his mother had fainted.

On finding that his mother was no where around, he started having the feeling inside him that something was really wrong. With fear, he looked into Cabir's eyes.

Manan: Where is she?
Cabir (acting dumb): What do you mean by where is she?
Manan:  You know who I am talking about.
Cabir: Who she, Manan?
Manan: Stop fooling around and tell me where is my mother?
Navya: woh beta she.....
Manan: speak up dammit.
Abha anti: She is alright son.
Manan: No she isn't alright. I can feel her. Something is surely wrong. Where is she?
Alga: she is.....
A voice: Here......
All the eyes turned around and found Manik at the door.

FLASHBACK
Manik was sitting besides he bed where Nandini was sleeping. Manik was in tears on seeing his stars  is miserable condition. Suddenly Nandini opened her eyes and sat upright. Manik stood up on seeing her sudden move of sitting upright.

Manik (cupping her face): What happened Nanadini? Any bad dream?
Nandini (trying to get up): He....woke up. Chalo chalo, let's go. he has woken up.
Manik (clutching her shoulders): Who woke up Nandini?
Nandini (looking straight into his eyes): Manan.
Manik: No he hasn't. They would have informed us.
Nandini: No he has woken up. I can feel it.
Manik: Nandini, he hasn't.
Doctor: She is right.

Manik turned around and found the doctor. Manik looked back at Nandini. She smiled, the one she always reserve for her victories.

Doctor: get going. Your son won't like his parents coming late. He is kind of punctual in these things, I guess?

PRESENT
Manan (irritated): Then get your body of the door and reaves her to me, you dumdum.

Manik gave way for Nandini.

Manan: Mom (smiling widely)

Nandini with an unexpected angry face, marched up to her son and THUD! She slapped him.

Manan (holding his left cheek): Now what was that for?
Nandini (yelling): what the hell do you think about yourself? You will be some great person by giving up your life to us hun? Hame koi shauk nahi hai joh tum hame jeeneka mauka de. You are a boy, not a man. Who the hell gave you the right to give up your life and be Mr. Great? Who the bloody hell taught you to twist the rules in such disgraceful ways? Look at yourself, you look so dull. You know that I can't even think a single day without you. You should have taken my life. I hate you for this.

Everyone was shocked at the lecture and slap given by the mother to her son. It brought tears in their eyes.

Manan (angrily): Don't you dare think of dying. (Teasingly) Bybthe way, do you really hate your precious gem?
Nandini (angrily): You......

With this, Nandini hugged Manan tightly but being equally careful of the wound. They soon released and looked at the Man standing at the door.

Manan: Aren't you my father?
Manik: Of Course I am.
Manan: Then, why the hell are you standing there. Come join the mother and son for a wonderful yet a memorable hug.

Manik smiled and ran up to them to complete the family hug. All the ones present in the room stared clapping and hooting seeing the sight in front. They wished that this happiness and unity among them never faded.  But who knows what's in store for them. Will it be a happy ending or a new race for the finish line.
