Murthy have three daughters, he lives in Mumbai works as a small accountant. lives in own house, which is very small.

He married his elder daughter Swara to Manik Malhotra who works as engineer in a govt office, she had a son, Manik is chain smoker, drinks daily and abuses, plays cards , sleeps with ladies.

Second daughter is Nandini, she is the one who makes his life better, she is very organised, simple, strict with things. She manages house, she makes best use of his salary every month. She don't let anyone miss use it. She helps him in works, keeps house neat. He loves her a lot.

Third daughter is kiran, she is naughty, very ambitious stupid, always impulsive. She always bring one or the other problem.

Murthy elder daughter committed suicide, her husband cried but then he drank and left. Nandini took her son, Rahul into her lap, he is two years old. She always said that she is fed up with life because of Manik habits. He never tried to change. But never expected that she will do such thing. Last night she cried saying he again slept with someone. Nandini tried to console but this happened.

Months passed, rahul became one in house, Manik comes daily morning spends time with him, gives money for his expenditures, talks to Nandini about him and leaves. Nandini never says anything but kiran taunts him and says him as murderer. He don't respond just smiles sadly and goes away.

Murthy became more sad day by day. His wife became life less. Only rahul is the source of happiness. To this tragedy, kiran became pregnant. Everyone is shocked. They all know about her love with sharath, but never expected that she will cross her limits.

Family is in devastated state. Nandini came to her father"what happened papa?"
"I asked some people about your marriage they are asking dowry of one lakh,"
"Papa shall I give you a suggestion?"
"What?"
"Rahul is our responsibility now, kiran is pregnant, marriages, then her pregnancy, we can't effort papa, so to lessen burden you make me marry with Jiju"
Murthy stood up with shock "I lost one daughter because of him now you are saying you want me to loose one more because I am poor?"
"papa, you know that we have no option, listen to me carefully, if I marry him, rahul won't be our burden, my marriage won't bother you, about kiran we can do her marriage in simple way, as we can blackmail sharath with this pregnancy"
"No no this can't be happen"
"Papa don't worry I promise you I won't die, please papa don't make it more hard, kiran is three months pregnant, we can't waste more time"
Murthy held his head in shame and worry. He cried
"Don't worry papa please" she too cried.

Nandini met Manik at office. "Jiju I came to ask you something"
"What?"
"Kiran is pregnant with sharath, we need to marry her soon, so being elder one papa want to marry me too with her, so will you marry me?"
Manik is shocked "Nandini? Your sister died because of my habits you know that, I don't want one more to be same, I can't marry again and kill them"
"If you are really that guilty then promise me one of your habit which you can leave, that way you can make me feel better and my didi soul free"
Manik looked at her "you know I can't stand on promise"
"This time you will, think about rahul, when he grows he will hate you for killing his mother if I am his mother he won't remember didi, you will be better"
Manik thought for some time "ok I will stop going to other ladies"
"Before marriage please get check up with doctor, I want to see the certificate I don't want any diseases, if you don't get one I won't let you touch me for sure" she said without feeling shy. Manik looked at her with amusement, she bid bye and left.

Marriage happened, sharath demanded a bike, Manik said he don't want anything just court marriage is ok for him. Nandini felt happy. Manik gave her certificate of his sex health which is clean.

On their first night she said "if I get any sort of sexual disease I will leave house and rahul will be here, you should raise him alone"
"Don't worry if you satisfy me I won't go to anyone"
Nandini nodded yes. Manik took her to pleasure ride. Manik felt different with her. She made sure he is satisfied even though it's her first time. Night all along she made him talk about his interests.

Next day, she did house hold works, cooked food and made him box, she woke him up, gave him needed things, when Manik made a move she didn't deny, he became happy.

Nandini observed Manik keenly. He is needy man, he loves sex, he smokes when he is frustrated or angry more. He sings when he drinks, even uses curses when he drinks, he goes rough when he is drunk.

Nandini made record of his curses one night. Next morning when he is having his tea, she played it, Manik hung his head in shame, "rahul is learning this curses if you are ok with that I don't care" she said with smile.
Manik said sorry and left. That night he didn't talk much, he ate made love to her twice, slept.
Manik mother came, she is very typical lady, she gives tips for everything, but don't work, Nandini don't mind it, so they mingled happily.

Two days later Manik came with bottle, he didn't drink, Nandini made dinner and gave him to drink with food, he happily took plate. "Did you eat?"
"No"
"Then eat with me"
"I don't like that smell, you complete it I will eat later"
"No Nandini, you eat first I will wait" he said
She sat and started eating "how was your day?"
"Ok ok, we had inspection,"
"Did you like lunch?"
"Yes my friends too had it, I loved it, you cook good"
"Thank you, I need some money I have to buy something's"
"I forgot sorry wait" Manik took cash kept some needed money and gave everything to her,"this is my salary I can give you all this"
"This is so much can I plan something too"
"It's your money I will not ask anything from them so don't worry plan as you want"
"Thank you, I am full"
"When you don't like my smell how are sleeping with me?"
"I can't neglect you"
"Oooo what makes it better?" He asked with guilt
"Will you really do?" She asked with hope
"Promise, ask"
"Will you play chess with me daily before you drink"
"Means?"
"Daily play one game of chess with only me, then eat drink, we can have our bed time and sleep"
"That's all?"
"Yes" she said with happy face
Manik smiled "but i don't know how to play"
"I will teach you"
"Ok bring we will play before I have it"
Nandini ran in and bought chess board and coins
She explained the game, he observed keenly, both played two games, he learned how they move, then while eating and drinking they talked about it. When they enter bedroom, Manik never let her waste one minute, he with passion haves her.

Daily Manik comes home with bottle, "Nandini bring chess board" he shouts, she come with it and plays.
Nandini never let Manik win for three days, when he is loosing intrest, she wontedly loose the game for one day, that day he drank less in happiness of winning talking about it and his win.

Months rolled away, chess became his habit, but every Sunday he calls his friends to play card games, that day they play drink and fight then Manik sleeps without sex.

Nandini one week said to Manik, "if you win today in cards game I will make biryani, if you loose you will not drink till you win"
"What childish this?"
"Why you don't want biryani?"
"No I want you" he said kissing her
"Ok then, one game win, one round if loose no drink"
Manik agreed.
"That too till five" she said "we need our time in bed you know"
Manik ruffled his hair in anticipation

That day Manik won five games and made all his friends go away, "see I won five games come on undress now" he said in hurry, she giggled and came to bedroom. Till night he didn't leave her nor he stopped. When he is hungry she made biryani, all four ate and when his son and mom went to their room , Manik without giving time lifted her saree and entered, she giggled at his eagerness.

Manik slowly addicted to chess, now he is winning some time, Nandini is practicing all day to make him defeat. Because of chess, he stopped smoking in house, as Nandini always coughs at smell, he goes out smokes and comes when he needs desperately, drink is now minimum, some time he bargains it with sex, she always agrees.

Oneday, when Manik came Nandini asked "today our owner said he will sell this house, shall we buy it?"
"How can we afford?"
"I have some money, we can take loan, once rahul start his school we can't afford so think once"
"How much you have?"
"I saved 70 thousand, we have some jewellery, if we sell may be we can get more 50"
"No no we won't sell them, I will first make budget wait" he said
She gave him paper pen, he asked her expenses, then he wrote his, then loan amount, he calculated emergency funds too."we can go for it, I will apply tomorrow" Manik said with smile
"Wow that's great" she said while clapping kissing Rahul.

Manik observed Nandini, she is so different, she is caring, intelligent, smart, very efficient and loves rahul most. The way she cooperates with him in bedroom is commendable, he is healthy and happy now a days, mostly she saved 70 thousand from her expenses is really great. He felt guilty about Swara,

Swara is typical middle class girl, always complaining, demanding to change, saying no to everything, always crying on fate, if she would have atleast made him little happy 

"What are you thinking"
"Nothing, kash Swara was like you, I always feel guilty"
"She was naive, I too miss her but it's her choice"
"Leave it, so you saved money how?"
"I always manage house with minimum expenses, so I did it"
"Ok, thank you for coming into my life Nandini"
"I should be one to say, if you didn't agree for marriage my family would have been in devastated state"
"That's my family too"
Manik hugged Nandini, she kissed him.

"Come on make rahul get ready we will roam outside and eat, tell mom
"Ok" she jumped and ran in, Manik laughed

Both walked in park, eat icecream, made rahul enjoy, they played with him, later they had pavbaji, rahul had his dinner at home, he tasted little then slept. Manik held him
"Don't you want kids?"
"Rahul is my kid"
"I know don't you want?" He asked with some hope
Nandini bit her lip, "once he start school we will think, I don't want to neglect him, more over we shouldn't make life difficult, once we are sure we can effort any other child then we will if not rahul is sufficient"
"Are you not interested in having my child?" He finally asked, which he wanted ask from months
Nandini looked at him in pain "never say or think such nonsense, I accepted you has my husband their is no doubt about it, child is big responsibility and I have seen my papa struggle, I don't want you to suffer like him"
"I can provide to my children"
"I know still we can wait, if you really want one now then we can have one, not more."
"Really?"
"Yes"
"Ok we will wait till we buy house then we will have one"
"What if it is girl? Is it ok? See you always drink bring friends home while Playing cards, what if anyone eyes her? You will be drunk and slept, then? You know men don't see age, I myself lock inside whole day, she too deserve that?"
Manik bit his lip, looked at her. She had tears
Manik kept silent.

They bought house, invited Nandini family, her sister family. Manik left drinking habit. He stopped inviting his friends home, so playing cards ruled out. Chess became his new obsession, he sings while playing.Nandini records his songs always.

It's first Diwali, murthy called both girls home for festival. Kiran being pregnant all day nagged about one or other thing, at evening sharath demanded cash, Manik kept silent, when Murthy gave money to both, Manik refused and kept it away "Nandini tell papa that we don't need money now if we need we will ask" she smiled and nodded.

Nandini really felt blessed being with Manik, he is genuinely good person, he cares her, provides her every thing, he always asks her if she had her food or not, even knowing about her contraceptive pills he didn't shout or created any scene, she remembered even when he came with Swara he never demanded anything, he used to laugh with them and be happy with them all for that day.

Murthy is happy seeing Manik this fit and happy. He praised his daughter very much. When they reached home, Nandini said "let us have one more child"
Manik jumped happily. For two days he took leave and took Nandini to Lokhandwala, he made love to her, enjoyed the waterfalls.

Rahul joined school and Nandini became pregnant, Manik is happy person, he promised Nandini that he will never smoke again.

They had princess, Manik and rahul were so happy, all these months Manik taught his son how to protect his sister. Nandini laughed. They named her Swara. Manik always felt guilt for not changing soon, also always been really gratitude towards Nandini.

Nandini sent his song recording to one competition, they selected him, he entered show, Manik won price and a chance to sing in a movie along with cash.

Nandini is happy. Manik became singer, left his job, their life changed, now they live in bungalow with cars servants and luxury. Still Manik plays chess with her and enjoy sex. She always saves money for him.
