"Papa is home. Dad is going to be at work. Sohesh Papa is going to orphanage, to give gifts to children." Rudr filled in the information, to Nandini, over phone.

"You missed our own father." Karan chimed in, and Rudr frowned. "You know, it's not important." he replied, and Rithvik smacked in his head. "He's your father. So talk about him, with respect."

"But Bhai! What I meant is, Cutie is already going to meet him in the hospital. So he's not important, for she already knows his schedule." Rudr winced in pain, and they heard Nandini sighing.

"Honestly Bhayyu. You scare Rudy Bhayyu more than AI does." Nandini's voice was heard out loud, as the call was kept on speaker mode.

"I don't scare him away. I just teach him ethics." Rithvik defended himself. "While all Asad does is yelling." he added, and Asad squinted his eyes at it. "Excuse me, bro?" he questioned, and Rithvik shrugged.

"Let Jaan say if I'm wrong, then." Rithvik commented, and Asad turned to the mobile, as if he could see Nandini through it. "Princess!" said Asad. "What am I going to achieve in return, if I need to lie?" she asked, and he gaped at the mobile.

"You mean..he's right?" He groaned out loud. "Why do you think I call you AI and Shivaay Bhayyu AI 2.0??" she asked, giggling and the rest joined her, in laughing at Asad, except for Shivaay, who sulked for getting dragged in the conversation, when he was sitting with his mouth shut.

"Come on, Nanni. I didn't even open my mouth." Shivaay whined, as if he was a kid. "Alright, Bhayyus. Time up. I reached hospital." Nandini said, grabbing their attention. "Waise, Dad kab thak office mein hoga aaj?(Till when is Dad going to be in his office?)" she questioned, and the brothers looked at each other.

"Angel, aaj hi?(Today?)" Viren asked, and Nandini grinned from the other side. "Patience is a virtue. But unfortunately, Nandini Murthy doesn't wanna practice it, always." and the Murthys sighed at it.

"What's the plan?" asked Karan, and her grin got wider. "What if Dharmendhr Murthy's car decides to take an off day?" she wondered out, and their eyes widened.

"No way! His car loves him so much." Om pointed out. "Bhayyu! You do know Nandini Murthy is possessive, right? So what if I just do haqq jathana on DAD, and push his car out of my way?!" she questioned, and they nodded at each other.

"Rest in peace, Car-Bee." Sidharth chimed in, and the boys gave him a look filled with disbelief, while Nandini muttered. "Amen!"

"Congratulations, for the bun in the oven!" Nandini winked at the couple in front of her, who stared at her aghast, before bursting out in tears of joy. "Really?" the lady asked, wiping her tears away, and Nandini smiled at her.

"Really! I mean, the test reports say it. Not me." she joked, and the lady laughed out, before smiling widely. "The test I took from home also came out positive, but my mother told me not to believe in home-test-kits. Thank you so much, doctor." the lady was all smiles, and Nandini wondered why every woman who comes to her burst out in tears, the moment they get to know they were expecting a baby.

"You should probably thank your husband, and not me, Mrs. Ahuja." Nandini said, and the lady squeezed at her husband's hand, which was resting around her shoulders. "I've already done so. When I got the test positive, at home. But you know, we had a feeling that..what if my mother was right." Mrs. Ahuja said, while smiling at her husband, who had a stupid grin plastered on his face.

"Right! Doctor Murthy..she's fine, right? And our baby?" Mr. Ahuja asked, worryingly and Nandini smiled at the to-be-father.

"Oh yes. They're both fine. I would just say, take care of her for the first 4 months. That's the most crucial time of pregnancy. And yeah, follow a particular diet. We need lots of vitamins and minerals. I'd say, ask someone at home to prepare a diet for Mrs. Ahuja. Someone elderly. Their diet is always better than what we think." said Nandini, before tearing off a diet chart, from the spiral shaped diet book placed on her table. "Refer this chart as well. This is prepared by us. But keep a check with those food that are allergic for Mrs. Ahuja." she added, and smiled at the couple.

"Thank you, Doctor." they smiled at her, who smiled back in return. "Come back after a week. We'll need a weekly checkup, from now on wards. You can book your appointment at the reception." Nandini instructed, and the couple bade her their byes, with smiling faces.

"May Daadi ki Rab ji protect their little one." Nandini prayed in her heart, smilingly, when they left her cabin, before asking the nurse to bring in the next patient.

"Yes! How can I hel--" Nandini looked up, only to hiccup, on seeing the person. "Oh shit, its the Grandpa." she muttered to herself, with her volume toned down, and Raj narrowed his gaze at her. "You said something, Nandini bete?" Raj asked, and Nandini gulped down, before nodding in negative. She was about to stand on her feet, when Raj took his seat.

"Would you mind to leave us alone, please?" Raj looked up at the Nurse, who stared at him and then at Nandini, confusingly. "Its okay, Mrs. Singh. You can come back, once Mr. Malhotra leaves." Nandini cleared her throat, while speaking and the nurse nodded at her, before leaving the cabin.

"You sounded uncomfortable." Raj commented, the moment the nurse left.

"Uh..no. I never expected you to come and meet me..here." Nandini replied, and Raj leaned forward, in his seat.

"Even I never expected to watch..all those stuffs happening now. I mean, my son getting a girlfriend and all. It's actually new to me. He never brought a girl home before, and now, all of a sudden, he says he's in love. Very much new to me." Raj explained, and Nandini stared at him for a good second, before sighing out loud.

"Why don't you stop pretending that I'm-so-shocked-that-my-boy-has-a-girlfriend and let me know that you know it all." Nandini suggested, and Raj stared at her surprised. "Know what all, Nandini?" he asked, and she leaned back in her chair.

"Know that..which you were not supposed to." she said, and his eyebrows were raised.

"And why was I not supposed to know them, Miss Nandini Shekhar Murthy?" he asked, and she gulped down, before squinting her eyes at him. "How exactly did you realize that?" she exclaimed, and Raj chuckled. "It's not difficult when we best friends share everything. Even our children's pictures." he said, and Nandini's eyes widened.

"But I told him not to send any of my pictures to you." she cried out, in shock, and Raj shrugged. "He never keeps promises, when I'm the matter. He loves me more than he loves you." Raj said, and Nandini saw red.

"He.Is.My.Appa and He.Loves.Me.The.Most." she seethed, and Raj stared at her, amused. "He was right about your possessiveness." he commented, and Nandini glared up at him. "Well, can't blame you. You've got his genes." he added, and Nandini sighed.

"There's no fault of Manik." she said, surprising Raj, and she began to narrate their short story. "I was wrong, but he never was. He just wanted to help me, and let me say that your kid is so innocent that he can fall into anybody's damn trap." Nandini added, and Raj stared at her.

"You're so much like Mishti." said Raj, and Nandini looked up at him. "She was always reckless and selfish when it comes to her loved ones. She would never do anything for herself, but if its for someone she loves, she'll be the most selfish person on Earth." he added, and Nandini smiled at it.

"I'm my Ma's daughter, for a reason." she winked at Raj, who laughed out, at it.

"So tell me. Why are you here?" Nandini adjusted herself in her seat, and Raj stopped laughing." I mean, I know that you won't come here for nothing." she added, and Raj looked impressed. "You're here to ask us to stop this drama? If that's the case, I will have to ask Manik to be here." She stared at him, nervously, while Raj looked rather relaxed.

"If I wanted you to stop with this fake-relationship, I would have asked you to do so, even before coming here to meet you." Raj commented, and Nandini stared at him, in anticipation. "So..?" she trailed off, only for Raj to shrug. "Nothing much. I would like to be notified about everything you do, in future. As in, jo kuch bhi karoge tum log, mere Shekhs aur Mishti ko wapas laane keliye, wo sab kuch pehle mujhe bathaoge, phir do it in action.(As in, whatever you do to bring back my Shekhs and Mishti back here, I will have to be notified bout the same.)" Raj completed, and Nandini's jaws dropped down in shock.

"You-you-you mean..you really don't mind me being your son's fake girlfriend? Yaani, you don't have any problems with the drama we're doing?" Nandini cried out, and Raj had a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Fake girlfriend!" he muttered, before smirking. "Let's see about that, later. But for now, know that, I'm okay with everything." he said, and it didn't take another second for Nandini to jump out of her chair, and hug Raj tight.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you so much." she exclaimed happily, and Raj who was shocked in the beginning started to smile, and patted at her hairs affectionately. He still couldn't believe that his best friend's daughter, whom he wanted to meet since the moment he heard about her, is right in front of him, and now hugging him like how she would have hugged Shekhar.

"You really made my day, GRAND PA." She shouted before pulling away, and Raj smiled at her, which didn't last long. "Wait..!" his eyes widened at what she addressed him with.

"Whaaaat? Grand..Grand pa?" he questioned, with his nose scrunched up in distaste and shock. And Nandini grinned. "You look like a cute Grandpa to me. And I think that really suits your character as well. Because you're too sweet." she admitted honestly, and Raj stared at her blankly.

"I'm just 50 years old. Your father's age." He cried out, and she shrugged. "I know. But my Appa doesn't look as old as you do." she said, and gone was the sweet Raj. "I'm not old." he seethed, and she rolled her eyes.

"I didn't say that. I said..YOU LOOK OLD." She repeated her words, and he pressed onto his forehead. "I don't look old, either. It's your father who's old." Raj argued, and Nandini stared at him. "Right! The one who has grey hairs, with his forehead wrinkled doesn't look old, but the one who just started to have grey hairs is older than the former one." she smiled sarcastically at Raj, who nodded.

"Right!" he said, and then realized she was mocking at him. He looked up to glare at her, who giggled. "I guess Appa was right. You really are his dumb best friend." she said, and Raj's ears started to emit smoke. "He said that? I'm gonna kill him." he seethed again, and Nandini laughed out loud.

For sure, she's going to enjoy her father's best friend's company.

***

"Cad! You sure this is the one?" Nandini stared at the huge building, with her head raised, eyes busy staring at it, examining the size and luxury of it. She wandered her eyes around to see that the surrounding was kept neat, and away from the busy city lights.

"You did read the name board placed outside, right Nan?" Cad asked, sighing heavily, and she looked over her right. "I did. It does says Malhotra Automobiles. But I'm just worried that I might go in and say 'Hey Malhotra kid' and the person who would look up would turn out to be some random stranger who would shout 'Who the f*** are you'." she reasoned, and Cad frowned.

"For once, keep faith in me. Will you, Nan?" he asked, frowning, and she shrugged. "You did get me false information about certain people in the past." she said, and walked further. "That was not my mistake. Those people had good reputation around." Cadbury argued, and Nandini stepped inside the building.

"FYI, Evil will never have bad reputation, but good, because people buy lies when money sells them." Nandini retorted, before looking up and gasped. "Wow! This looks like some Hotel. Cad! I'm telling you. If I don't get to see Malhotra kid in here, I'm going to ask Maria to shave the hair off your head." Nandini looked around, while speaking, before spotting the receptionist's desk.

"Yeah, sure. Go ahead." Cadbury said, as he was quite aware of the information he fetched for Nandini. "Excuse me? Is this where Manik Malhotra works?" She tapped at the receptionist's desk, who looked up at her.

"Uh..Yes, it is. It's actually his company." the person smiled brightly at her. "Oh, good. One second please." she said to the receptionist, before speaking over her phone. "Now, I know you're going to be all-praises-to-myself, but I'll call you at night to listen to it. Love you, and miss me." she said and hung up leaving Cadbury to chuckle at the childish traits in her.

"So..I'd like to meet Manik Malhotra. Is he free?" she looked up at the Receptionist. "Um, sure Mam. At what time do you have an appointment with him?" he said, while smiling at her and then at skimming at the the laptop screen, where Manik's schedule was present.

"I don't have an appointment." Nandini replied, and his head shot up, to have a look at her face. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Mam. I'm afraid you will have to book an appointment first and then meet Mr. Malhotra." he said, smiling apologetically.

"I don't need an appointment. Why don't you call him up and tell my name?' she suggested, and the guy looked at her with yet another apologetic smile. "I apologize, Mam. But Mr. Malhotra doesn't like to have meetings with those who have no prior appointments. If I call him and tell someone's here, then he might lash out." he spoke, with a constant apologetic smile on his lips, and Nandini rested her elbows on his desk.

"Is it a rule?" Nandini stared at his face, with her gaze narrowed. "Pardon?" the guy looked at her, with a confused smile. "To show your 32 teeth, which are glowing like pearls, obviously with a dentist's help, while you talk each and every sentence. Is it a rule?" Nandini rephrased her question, and the guy gaped at her.

"Uh..no. I just..smile often, because Mr. Malhotra says..make the clients happy." The guy replied, stuttering, and Nandini's face was scrunched up in distaste. "And you think your pearl white teeth would make others happy? I mean, I know the saying, a smile can make your day. But that's all phrases, and it's not like if a random stranger smiles at you, all your problems vanish and you become a sorrow-free person." she reasoned, and the guy could only stare at her, expressionless.

"Like..if your Mr. Malhotra is asking for you to make your clients happy, then give them a reason to be happy. Like now, you can make me happy, if you send me to your boss' cabin." Nandini said, and the guy gulped down. "That's not possible, Mam. Mr. Malhotra will not spare anyone who disobeys him." he said, and Nandini sighed out loud, before moving away from the reception.

She took her mobile, and dialed his number. "Shouldn't have thought about being moral." she muttered to herself, when the call got answered. "Hello! Who is it?" she heard his formal voice, and she chewed on her lips. "No wonder why you ask your staffs to make your clients happy, Manik. Yaani, tumhara ye aawaz sunke koi bhi sorrowful hojayega.(Anybody could go sorrowful, after hearing your voice.)" Nandini stated, and Manik widened his eyes, before looking back at the caller ID which read "Nandini".

"Seriously Nandini! People greet when they call someone over phone..and what the hell were you saying?" he questioned, at the end. "Either you come out, or you let me come to your cabin. I don't have time. I have a really big job to carry out." Nandini said, and Manik frowned. "Come out or let you in?" he widened his eyes. "You here at my office?" he exclaimed, and Nandini sighed.

"Malhotra kid!" she sighed once more, before hanging up on him, and Manik didn't waste another second before rushing out of his office.

"Uh, Mam. I really apologize if I've offended you. It's just..Mr. Malhotra doesn't like someone unprofessional." the receptionist walked towards her, with a girl behind him, who had a cup of coffee for her. "Please have it." he tried to avoid smiling at her, but he couldn't simply let go off his habit.

She stared at the cup of coffee in his hand, and palmed her nose, the next second. "Damn! That thing smells so strong." And she stood up from her seat, to get away from the coffee's smell, only to get banged into something, and yet again, she was steadied by a pair of arms, but not really crossing her personal space.

"Oh for hell's sake, can I not have a peaceful life?!" she cried out, before looking up, only to heave a sigh. "You seriously got me to a tiring state of mine, Manik." she muttered, and he huffed out. "Damn, Nandini. You could have told me about your visit. Now come along." and he pulled her with her, while the receptionist and the girl stared on, in shock.

"Oh my God! He just held her and took her to his cabin." the guy shrieked, before looking at the girl. "He knows the girl, and I'm fired." he stared at the girl blankly, who stood still in shock.

"He's with a girl." she whispered to herself, in shock, for it was the first time ever in her life did she see Manik Malhotra with a girl.

Who must she be!

***

"I still can't believe it." Manik screeched, while pulling at his hairs. "I mean, how did he find out?! We were so much in sync, weren't we?" he looked up at Nandini, who was busy looking around.

"Nandini yar, tum kuch bol kyu nahi rahi ho?(Why aren't you saying anything?) Aren't you scared?" he shot daggers through his eyes, while she got back to giving him the attention he needed. "Manik! Why is your cabin's interiors done in Black and White? I mean, the interiors downstairs, and even this floor was done in Magenta color." she leaned forward to listen to his answer, who stared at her blankly.

"Wh-What?" he stared at her confusedly. "Yaha ithni badi problem hai aur tumhe mere office ke interior color ki padi hai?(There's such an important problem happening, and you're interested in my office's interiors?)" he stared at her, in disbelief, while she started to look around again.

"Yar, think about the consequences. It's my Dad we're talking about. He can even climb up the mountain and scream out to the world that you're Nandini Shekhar Murthy. Tab tho sirf DJ hi nahi, your father will also get to know about your mission." he reasoned, and she looked back at him.

"Oh!" she looked at him, curiously. "One question. Why do you tell your employees to make your clients happy? Yaani, isn't it your job to make them happy rather than just theirs?" she questioned, and Manik stared at her, with his ears starting to emit smoke from them.

"To hell with my stupid interiors and employees, Lilliput Murthy." he exclaimed, angrily, and Nandini's head snapped towards Manik, with her face blank.

"I was thinking about my father's next step that he could take against us, and you're worried about my company's stupid interiors and employees?!!" he cried out, before palming his face. "Mums ko patha chal jayenge ab sab kuch. Aur aaj mein chutni nahi balki poore chole ban jaunga unke haathon se.(Mums will get to know about everything. And today, I won't become just chutni, but Chole, with their hands.)" he whined in his hands, unaware of the damage he caused.

"Did you just..call me..with some very weird, disturbing and infuriating endearment, Malhotra kid?" Nandini breathed out fire, and Manik's rants got halted. He looked up at her, slowly yet nervously, only to see her reddened face, which was obviously due to extreme anger.

He gulped down!

And she saw more red, when she got sure that he indeed, used an endearment for her. An infuriating endearment.

"You did!" she stated more than asked, and he masked bravery on his face. "S-So? What wrong did I--say? You're--short, s--" he began only to get hit by a file, which was aimed at his head. "Nandini!" he cried out, in shock and rubbed at the sting that the file caused his head.

"How dare you, Malhotra? How dare you call me short?!" she boiled in anger, and stood up to march towards him, who got sunk in his seat. "Nandini, listen. I didn't mean t--oww, oww, owww, Nandini yar, stop." She started to punch in his stomach, and he tried to dodge it, but ended up in wincing in pain. "Yar lagi mujhe. Lilliput." he screamed again, and she hit him again, and this time in his biceps, that he tried to hold her back, which just lead her to fall on his lap.

And BOOM!

"Ma--aaaaanik." they looked at the door, to see a shocked Abhimanyu, at the door, who immediately turned around. "Oh shit, I'm sorry. That was a wrong timing. I'll come by, later. Bye." he closed the door, and left.

"B--but, what's wrong?" they shouted at the same time, while staring at the door, and then looked back at each other, only to realize their position was quite--intimate.

And Nandini stood up immediately, leading Manik to be on his feet as well.

First hug happened in the morning, and First-time-on-lap happened in the afternoon!

***

"So yeah, he just wants to be notified." Nandini said to Manik, and started to sip on her orange juice. Sometimes she wonders if her father had a chance to choose either her mother or oranges, he would obviously prefer the latter one.

"So he's..fine with it? I mean, this drama and all?" Manik stared at Nandini, expectantly, who nodded in positive. "Come on, Nandini. You could have told me about this, a long time ago. For example, when I was busy freaking out." he reasoned, while glaring at her, and she started to play with the straw in her juice glass.

"A person freaks out, when he knows that everything is gone into the pit. But you started to freak out, even before I could say what your father's decision was." she started to sip on her juice, before adding. "For example, you acted like a desperate guy who couldn't even wait to get his wife in their room, that he kissed her right after the pandit announcing them to be husband-wife."

Manik stared at her for a while, before snatching her juice glass.

"What the f***!" she looked up at him, whose jaws dropped down in shock. "The hell Lilliput! You just cursed. That too..f***?" he spoke in a lower volume at the end, while looking around if anyone in the restaurant heard her cursing. "Where did you learn all these from?" he glared at her, and she snatched back her juice glass, from him.

"You're not my Appa aur Bhayyu, that I can't curse while you're around." she said, and he snatched her juice glass, from her, again. "Of course not, but I didn't mean you can't curse while I'm around. You can't curse at all." he stated firmly, and she snatched back the glass.

"Why? Are you some 10 years older to me that I should give you respect?" she retorted, and he snatched the glass again. "No! But it's a bad habit to curse. Especially f-word. And why the hell are you drinking this orange juice every now and then? Ithna Vitamin C kyu chahiye tumhe?" he barked out loud, and she sighed out, before snatching the glass away.

"Because Appa asks me to drink this juice, everyday. According to him, it's healthy, but I hate how it tastes you know. It's too sour." she made a bad face, before sipping on it, and Manik stared at her amused.

"I mean, you curse, which is a bad habit, but you still listen to what your father says, when he won't even know if you're really drinking it or not. You could lie, right." he stated, and she nodded in negative. "I don't lie. Yaani, Appa ko pasand nahi hai wo. Appa kehthe hai, insaan ke jithne bhi bad qualities hain, dishonesty unmein kabhi nahi hona chahiye. (I mean, Appa doesn't like it. He says that whatever may be the bad qualities in a human, dishonesty should never be one of them.) Kyunki God ko truth pasand hain, and truth always wins, so why should you lie and get caught up in a trouble." she said, and Manik smiled at it.

"Your Appa is one wonderful man." he commented, and Nandini smiled brightly, before shrugging. "Of course, he is. Why do you think my mother has fallen in love with him, then?" she raised her eyebrows at him, who chuckled.

"But whatever we're doing is also a lie, Nandini." he reminded her, and she finished her juice before leaning forward. "I know. But you must know that I follow both my Ma's lessons and Appa's lessons. If Appa had taught me not to lie, then Ma has also taught me that if it cost you to lie, to bring a smile on someone's lips, and if that lie wouldn't do anyone harm, then go for it. What matters is God's belief in you, and if you don't mean anyone harm by lying, then God might forgive you." she replied, and Manik looked at her, impressed.

"Quite unique couple, they're." he commented again, and Nandini slapped lightly at Manik's cheeks, startling him. "Zyada comment math kar. You're putting nazar on my Appa and Ma's love." she squinted her eyes at Manik, who glared at her.

"I was stating a fact." he reasoned, and she shrugged. "Fact or not! Nazar doesn't care. It goes and hit anyone they want." she replied, before standing up. "Now, I gotta go, Malhotra kid. I just wanted to inform you about your Dad's condition that he placed before us." she said, and waved her hand at him. "Ba-Bye, and miss me." she turned to leave, when he shook her head and stood up.

"Fine! I'll leave you till the entrance." he said, and she looked at him, but didn't stop walking. "Kyu? That's not being chivalrous, so you can just drop such gentleman acts that you do with other girls, when you're with me." she stated, and he sighed out loud. "That's not being chivalrous, but being morale. You've come to my company, and it wasn't quite a good welcome, so I can at least, bid you a proper goodbye." he reasoned, and she stared back at him, when they reached at the entrance.

"Insaan ache bann sakthe hain, lekin ithna bhi nahi ki log samajna shuru kare ki aapko hurt karne se koi problem nahi.(A man can be good, but not that good that people start to think that hurting you won't be a problem.) Why? Because you have a big heart to forgive those people." she said, and he stared at her. "Aur tum kuch zyada hi ache ho.(And you're a lot good.)" she turned around and left, while Manik kept staring at her retreating figure, until she disappeared from his gaze.

"Should I take it as a compliment or an insult?!" he muttered to himself. "Yaani, bath Lilliput ke hai tho compliment nearly impossible hain." he added, before smiling at himself, and then turning around to leave, when he came face-to-face with his Receptionist.

"Sir, I'm so sorry. I didn't know that you knew that Madam." he said, and Manik frowned. "Madam? Which madam are you talking about, Rehaan?" he questioned, and the receptionist, Rehaan gulped down. "Uh, the madam, who came to meet you today." he said, and Manik realized he was talking about Nandini. "Uh, how do I put it? Yeah..that cute Lilliputian sized Madam." Rehaan exclaimed happily, for having found a suitable description for Nandini.

But that wasn't the exact case for Manik, though!

"Cute--Lilliputian sized?" Manik 's face hardened, and scrunched up in disapproval. "Yes. That Madam, whom you dragged to your cabin. I'm really sorry that I didn't know she was related to you." Rehaan apologized again, and Manik crossed the poor receptionist' personal space, before hissing lowly at Rehaan's face. "She is not just related to me, but my GIRLFRIEND."

And Rehaan's eyes widened.

"So I would appreciate if you stop giving out names to My Girlfriend, and if not, I would be glad to fire you. Get it, Mr. Rehaan Taneja?" Manik kept his voice firm and low, yet dangerous, that Rehaan gulped down. "Ye-Yes, S-Sir." he stuttered, and Manik nodded before leaving the place.

And Rehaan breathed a sigh of relief.

"I seriously didn't think she could be his girlfriend. Heck, they're poles apart to be in love, dude!" Rehaan muttered to himself, wiping the sweat off his forehead.

Little did he know that Love often happens with the most unexpected person!
