Nandini's Outfit

I turned to look at the girls as I completed my look with my heels.

Sunaina wore a Pakistani dress with matching black jacket. All time workaholic.

While mukti wore a beautiful baby pink full length frock with a simple yet beautiful sky blue dupatta

Aliya wore her white Lehnga with golden intricate work all over. With light makeup. She looked perfectly 'Bride To Be'

While navya wore beautiful pistachio frock with light pink jacket complimenting her look

"Ready?" I asked looking at them while all of them nodded as we walked out of the cottage.

"Where's nikita?" Navya asked

"She already went there." sunaina replied and we all nodded

"Nandini!!!" ahana exclaimed and I looked at her stunned

She rushed towards me smiling widely and pulled me in a bone cashing hug

"Hey ahana, careful. You have a little one growing." mukti said pointing at her baby bump

"Oh relax mukti, my baby loves masi ma." ahana replied back as she hugged navya and aliya

"Which month is it?" Aliya asked as she kept her hand on ahana's baby bump

"It's 8th month." ahana replied with a smile a

"Girls, come let's get going. We don't wanna be late for the first function now. Do we?" sunaina asked and we all nodded as we walked to the main cottage area where the gathering was held

We entered the venue and saw everyone taking to each other mixing up. The elders were busy greeting everyone while the kids were playing nearby. As all the younger clan were setting up some sort of sitting arrangements

"Masi maa!!!!" I heard a cute voice and saw sana jumping out of arjun jiju's arms as she ran towards me

"Masi maa! I missed you shoo much!!!" sana exclaimed and I smiled pickin her up as she gave me a hug

"Sana, baby forgot your mumma?" Ahana asked stani beside me

"I ove you mumma!" sana said without pronouncing L as she pecked ahana's cheeks

"So how is Masi maa's baby doing?" I asked as I pecked her cheeks

"I am happy." Sana replied

"Hey, Nandini! How are you? It's been a long since we last met." Arjun jiju said as he walked to us

"Hello jij! What can I say. You guys don't come to visit" I said with a frown

"But see. Today we met." ahana said side hugging jij

"Masi maa, can I meet aiya masi?" sana asked not pronouncing L

"Sure baby, let's go meet her." I said looking up at ahana while she nodded in approval

I walked to the corner where aliya, navya, mukti, sunaina and nikita were

"Aiya mashiii!!!" sana shouted as soon as she spotted aliya and jumped from my arms to hug her

"Careful!" I instructed as I walked to them with a smile

"Sana! Baby please don't call me aiya... its aliya." Aliya said with a sad pout

"Aiya masi" sana said hugging her

"Nandini please teach her " Aliya said looking up at me

"Bad for you. None of us have l in their names." navya said picking up sana

"Navya masi!" sana exclaimed as she hugged navya

"Mukti masi" she extended her hands towards mukti while mukti showered her with kisses

' sunaina!!! Nikita!! Can you both please come here??' navya's mom called.

Both nodded and started walking towards their aunt.

"Can I take her?" cabir asked as he walked towards us

"Hey cabir, when did you came?" I asked as I turned to him

"Oh just before 10 mins" he replied as he tried taking sana from navya's arms as sana hugged navya tightly

"Aliya, come meet everyone." he mom called as aliya stood up

"Let's go. I am not meeting everyone alone." Aliya said

"What makes you think we'll join you?" mukti asked with a smirk

"Coz you have to." Aliya said as she dragged mukti with her while navya and I laughed at mukti's failed attempt to escape

"By the way what's her name?" cabir asked turning to me

"Sana." I replied smiling as I walked to her and took her from navya

"Masi's baby. Come on shake hands with cabir chachu." I said and sana looked at me

"Chachu?" she asked with a cute expression and I nodded

"Hello cabir chachu." she said extending her hand while cabir smiled widely

"By the way cabir? You don't have cousins to attend?" I asked and he laughed

"My cousins do not need formalities. Look over there." he said pointing towards a table where there were six kids and 3 couples were sitting

"Wow. You have a beautiful family." I said and he nodded

"Cabir. Come here." abhimanyu called and we looked over to see manik standing with neil

"Where's maha?" Navya asked

"Here I am!" a girl said as she walked towards us

Maha's outfit

"Oh nandini meet her, she is maha. Manik's bhabhi" Navya said as she introduced me to the girl

"Nandini." I said forwarding my hand while she crushed me in a hug

"That's how you meet me." she said breaking the hug and I smiled

"You're just like ahana." I said smiling

"Ahana?" she asked and I nodded

"She's my cousin." I said and she nodded in understanding

"I guess someone just missed me." ahana said as she walked  towards us with sana in her arms

"Sana, come here." I said extending my hands while she looked at me knowing I was upset on her

"Masi maa. Sana is sorry" she said getting down from ahana's hands

"Baby I told you not to trouble mommy. Didn't I?" I asked as I knelt down in front of her

"Sana is sorry. I ove you masi maa." she said hugging me and I smiled

"Okay. Next time you will not trouble mommy?" I asked and she nodded obediently

I broke the hug and picked her up

"Are you okay ahana?" I asked and she smiled

"You are another me." ahana said while I smiled

"Off course! Your daughter is my daughter too. So can't I teach her?" I asked

"Hey. I don't need permission. I'll teach her. Even if you deny." navya said and ahana smiled

"Sure" ahana replied

"Well which month is it?" maha asked and we smiled

"8 months." I and navya exclaimed together.

"Come let's sit somewhere." navya suggested and we all nodded walking to the chairs

"Masi maa. I am hungry." sana whispered and I nodded

"Yes baby... Let's get you something.. carry on girls I'll join in a few mins..." I said and girls smiled and started walking to a table while I turned around and started walking towards the dessert stall...

'So is Masi's baby enjoying??'

' Yes.. masi ma.. ' she replied with a wide smile and a glint in her eyes..

' oh really?? So what did you enjoyed??' I asked again

' everything.. first I got hoiday from schoo.. then we came here... then I got to wear this tshirt.. then I met YOU.... and now we are gonna have FOOD ' she replied happily emphasizing on 'you' and 'food'..still not pronouncing l and I smiled happily

' oh so masi maaa's baby is happy to see me???' I asked

' of course.. abhi ye b Koi puch ne ki baat he??' she replied dramatically in her toddler tone and I laughed as we reached the stall.

' so what does masi maa's baby wanna have??' I asked grabbing a plate

'macroons and chocooate muffins.. ' she excitedly answered

'ji ' I said smiling and grabbed a pair of tongs and took 2 muffins and 4 pink macroons.

Then I turned around.. Sana still in my arms and started walking towards where the girls were sitting looking down so that I don't trip with this long dress with heels with sana in my arms.

' masi ma!!' sana called me..

' Yes baby..' I looked at her

' why are we aww here???' she asked innocently

'we all are here, because its Aliya masi 's wedding !' I answered

'so who the groom?' she asked

' Dhruv chachu!' I answered

'ooo...'

'did you meet him?' I asked

'no '

'ok so we'll meet him while having dinner ok?' I asked

' okk' she answered as we reached the girls who were sitting on chairs in a semicircle...

I went and sat on one of the chairs on one of the chairs.. with sana on my lap as she grabbed a macroon from the plate in my hand ..and I started listening to what maha, navya and ahana were talking...

' tomorrow, haldi is in the morning while the mehndi is in the evening..' navya said...

' and when is the bridal shower???' asked maha

' day after tomorrow is Sangeet and the next day is Bridal sho-..' I answered but was interrupted by mukti's annoyed voice

' don't you ever tell me to join you in meeting those annoying aunties ever again Aaliya..' mukti said and sat besides me with a scoff on her face...

' that wasn't my fault baby doll.!' Aliya replied sitting next to mukti..

'why what happened??' ahana asked and mukti took the dessert plate from my hand and grabbed a muffin and started eating it.. and then passed the plate to aaliya

'Arre.. wherever we went na ... they started interrogating her for their son's for marriage .. poor mukti.." Aliya said and took a bite from her macroon.. and then passed the plate in the circle

' bitter reality of India!!' ahana remarked..

' true.. I've experienced ' maha comments

As nikita and sunaina joined us. We all sat there discussing the experiences with typical desi aunties

"Masi maa!" sana asked and I turned to her

"Yes, masi's jaan!"

"Macaroons" she said extending her hand and I looked at the now empty plate

"Mukti!" I glared

"That was for the baby!" I scolded shaking my head in disbelief

"Oh hello! Everyone had it. I am not the only person to be blamed." she said looking at the girls who gave sheepish smiles

"Come masi will get you some more." I said picking sana in my arms

"Masi maa can I get matching cwothes as you?" sana asked playing with my earrings

"Sure masi's jaan." I said taking another plate as I put her some more muffins and Macaroons on the plate

"No muffin." sana said making a pout while I was disturbed by my phone ring

"just a minute jaan." I said as attended the call

"Miss. Nandini. This is pooja from kalki fashion."

"Yes pooja."

"The lehnga's that were ordered are ready. I am here to deliver." she said and I frowned

"I am a bit busy right now. You can leave the parcel on the reception, I'll pick it." I said as I helped sana on her feet

"Sorry ma'am I have strict orders of making sure you are happy with the clothes."

"Okay. Where are you right now?" I asked

"I am in the waiting area. Ma'am."

"I'll see you." I said as I hung up

"Masi maa. Why so tenshheed?" sana asked looking up at me.

"Masi is not tensed, Jaan." I said looking around

manik's outfit

"Manik!" I called as I saw him taking to someone from the catering

"Come baby." I said as we walked to him

As Manik was still taking I sat on my knees in front of sana

"Okay, now listen carefully. Masi, mukti masi, mumma, navya masi, sunaina masi and nikita masi have to go for dress fitting. So stay with manik chachu or you can come with us" I asked and she looked at me with a pout

"Who is manik chachu?" she asked cutely as I handed her the plate with macaroons

"I am manik chachu." manik said sitting on his knees beside me.

"She is my cousin, ahana's daughter. Sana." I said and manik forwarded his hand towards sana

"Can we be friends?" Manik asked and sana looked at me while I smiled in approval

"I can be your friend tiww masi comes back." sana offered and I chuckled

"Then I'll have to make sure your masi stays there. " manik said

"Nooooo!!!!" sana exclaimed in horror
"Okay. I need to rush. Can you please look after her till we girls comeback from the dress fittings. Please?" I asked manik

"All the girls are going?" Manik asked and I nodded

"Aliya is here but she has to look after the guests. And sana can't pronounce her name properly." I answered

"She pronounce...." he tried to speak when sana cut him off

"Manik chachu."

"I promise sana will be masi's good baby. I won't ask for chocooates. I won't ask for Macaroons. I won't ask for puppies." sana said cutely and I smiled

"I would love to spend time with you sweetheart." manik replied back

"Thank you so much manik. I really need to rush." I said and he nodded as I walked away

Manik's POV

I looked down at the little bundle of joy, while she smiled at me cutely. 

"so? how are you, baby?" i asked as i picked her up in my arms while she giggled 

"I am happy." she replied back as she kept her arms around my neck

"happy?" i asked confused while she blobbed her head

"Masi taught me to awways answer truthfuyy." she answered and a wide smile spread across my lips

i pecked her cheeks and walked towards other boys

"Kya  kya hogaya! manik? abhi se parenting ki taiyyari?" cabir asked with a grin while i glared at him

"Hey baby, whats your name?" dhruv asked holding sana's hand

"I am not a baby." sana replied back taking her hands away from dhruv 

"ah... ah.... dhruv has no parenting skills." abhi added with a chuckle 

"PUPPYY!!!" Sana exclaimed and i turned to look for any puppy but only found bruno in my mum's arms

"put me down, peease." sana said as she wriggled in my arms and I put her down 

she walked a few steps before turning back to me. after a few moments she walked back to me and gestured me to pick her up

"what happened sana? you don't like bruno?" i asked after picking her up in my arms 

"i oove him." she replied with a small smile

"Then why didn't you go there?" abhi asked trying to take her from my arms while i took her in my other hand glaring abhi

"I promised chachu.. no puppies.." she said hiding in my neck 

"kesa kutta chachu hai.. bacche ki jaan lega kya? kutte se bhi nahi khelne dega.." cabir spoke joining the conversation half way

"kya kare? kutta kutte se nahi khelne dega." abhi said with a chuckle 

I looked at sana who was looking at my friends like they'd grown two heads 

"they are calling bruno kutaa?" sana said more like a question and i nod

"Aren't you supposed to be angvy?" sana asked scratching her head 

"AYE! don't call my kutta kutta." I shout at my friends who looked at me raising their eyebrows 

"I mean bruno kutta.." I corrected 

"I mean bruno as kutta." I corrected again and my friends gave me whatever look

"Sana, whom do you promise?" abhi asked ignoring me

"Manik chachu." she replied in a whisper and i looked at her confused 

"Tu woh kutta hai?" cabir asked and i glared him

"Don't call bruno that!" sana shrieked 

"Sorry baby." cabir apologised 

"Abe gadhe! aaj tak mujhe kabhi sorry bola hai?" dhruv asked 

"Baby I don't mind. you can play with bruno. he is safe." i said and her eyes light up with happiness

"Reavy?" she asked and i nodded with a smile.

"Wait, let's call bruno here." i said and whistled and bruno ran towards me 

Before bruno could jump on me. i gestured my hand at him and he stopped just next to abhi.

"Hey bruno..." sana exclaimed as soon as i put her down and bruno licked her cheeks

"Bruno stick around. play with her." i said pointing at sana while sana was busy showering him with kisses 

After that some of our cousins joined us and we started talking while four of us made sure sana and bruno were never out of sight.

After a while  i saw nandini walking up to me and i excused myself from the guys and reached her

"Manik, Sana?" nandini asked almost instantly

"Here." i replied and whistled while she looked at me confused. In a few seconds Bruno jumped in my arms

"Ahhh!!" nandini shrieked taking steps backwards

"Masi ma!!" sana called as she ran to her, nandini turned to her and smiled as sana hopped into her arms and bruno started licking my face

"Did masi's jaan had fun?" nandini asked while sana bobbed her face happily

"Is masi's jaan hungry?" she asked again

"yes!" she replied realising  she was hungry.

"come lets go.. everyone is having dinner now." she said looking at me while i nodded 

I started walking with her with bruno still in my arms as sana started telling us her experience with bruno keeping her head on nandini's shoulder 

"MANIK!!!" someone called me from behind and we turned around 

It was Cabir

"Manik de de.. bruno de de aaj mujhe...us aryan ke bacche ko de de... " he said a few steps away from us

"ha ha le le.. bas khila pila k lana" i said so he took bruno in his arms, nodding his head and walked away.

Soon we reached the large table where all the family members and joining them i settled on chair with nandini beside me, as there were no more seats left.

"masi ma where is mumma?" sana asked nandini

"jaan, she was not feeling good so she went to bed. will you have dinner with masi ma today?" she asked sweetly

"i need another chair for her." nandini mumbled to herself looking 

"Sana, sweetheart can you please sit in my lap while having dinner?" i asked sana bending my head slightly

"okay." she replied shifting in my lap grabbing nandini's attention 

"now you can feed her comfortably." i said looking at nandini

"thank you" she replied with a smile as our food arrived 

nandini fed sana and ate herself too with me helping her here and there.

"bas. i am done" sana grabed my attention as she informed nandini who nodded

slowly sana kept her head on my chest closing her eyes. i wrapped my left hand around her while she snuggled.

"i'll just take her.. so you ccan have food peacefully.." nandini said getting up

"no its fine. i am more than comfortable with her. you sit and have your dinner." i said and she sat back down.

i was having my last few morsels when someone called my name

"manik" and kept a hand on shoulder as i turned to see jiju, sana's father standing there.

"sorry, you and nandini had to take care of sana all this while." he said with an apologetic smile looking at me and nandini.

"nothing to apologise about it was lovely spending time with her. its me who needs to thank you for allowing me to spend time with her"i said with a smile meaning each word

"and since when did you started thanking me?" nandini asked while jiju chuckled 

"now i'll take her and her to bed. good night." jiju said and left after we greeted back....

soon all of us retired to their respective beds.
