"What does she think of herself? Only I have to remember things...I know that remembering birth dates are not her cup of tea but..Aree if she had forgotten my birthday then I would have not scolded her but here she forgot her own birthday..This is not fair...." self talking was something THE MANIK MALHOTRA, a Famous Rockstar had never thought he would do but alas if your company has influenced u then that was not a rare thing to do..

Actually it was 25th birthday of his girlfriend whom he had been dating since about 5 years now and today he had finally decided to purpose her on her birthday..All preparations were done and he had asked her to come at the hill side where they had many more memories of togetherness but no she didn't came  ..There was no reply from her side...He thought she might have slept so just thought to pick her up but when he reached their he got to know from her sister that she had gone out clubing to enjoy their victory over their last game....

Nandini Murthy, a cute, sweet bubbly girl was a lyricist as well as a squash player...Yesterday she had a match and her team timber wolves had won the trophy....It was a proud moment for him also after all his lady love was doing a great job in her career..

But due to match and all they were not able to meet or spent some quality time together but here instead of being unhappy he took it as an advantage to prepare his surprise proposal..

After every match they used to celebrate together but today she had told she was tried and wanted to rest so he gave in her demand thinking if she rests in now then will be fresh for the night...But here instead of resting she was out from the afternoon with her friends and now to she was clubbing without caring to inform him about anything..He was so angry on her that he switched off his phone and went to his room and slept..

Sleep was a distant word for him...Staring at the ceiling, turning and tossing in the bed , changing positions he kept on thinking the same thing..

Had he started controlling her life that she decided not to tell him anything?

Was she feeling suffocated with this relation?

Was his love not sufficient that she started hiding things from him?

These things didn't let him to blink his eyes also..Finally having enough he woke up and looked at the time to see it was just 4 in the morning....

Taking a long relaxing shower he came out an wore a T-shirt and track pants which were his workout clothes...It was a long time he has not gone to gym...After all when ever he used to get frustrated he used to go gym but nowadays just looking at Nandini's calm face made him smile but since she was not there, gym was the only option..

"Manik..."  knowing the voice exactly he didn't look up at all..he kept on running in the treadmill more faster...He was all covered by sweat then also he was capable of running as his limit was very high....

He knew she was taking steps closer to him and as soon as she reached near him stopped abruptly and turned around..Before she could understand anything he started to do push-ups while looking down without even acknowledging his presence..

"Manik..I know u are angry with me..I am sorry na ..you know I don't remember dates..I know it's silly of me to forget my own birthday but pls understand na...It was when navya wished me I remembered it...Actually my phone was in silent and didn't knew about your messages...I am sorry.." manik was listening to everything though he was still acting like he was not listening..

But how can he not melt at her so sweet voice..But still keeping a straight face he looked up only to see his lady love sitting in floor while catching her ears and that cute puppy face which always melts him but today he was not angry because she forgot her birthday but it was many more to it.....

As soon as his eyes met with hers their eyes talked..She could read him in and out...And she exactly knew what was bothering him but she had a smile listening to all his complains and insecurities because today she was there with solution to it all...Seeing her smiling at him in spite of he glaring at her, he made an angry pout...

"Nandini Murthy, here I am angry with u and instead of asking for forgiveness u are smiling at my expenses..Wow..just wow..." saying so he got up to reach his bag..He took out the water bottle and instead of drinking just poured it over himself as if to calm himself...But his this act just made the girls witnessing it to drool over him when he took off his t-shirt...

He was aware of all the gazes but he cared less but Nandini being a lot possessive about him glared at the girls making them to advert their gaze and do their work...Manik too out another tshirt and wore it ...He was going to move out when he heard her again...

"Manik..wish bhi nahi karoge...." and he knew she was controlling herself from breaking down there only..He turn abruptly to see tears glistening in her doe shaped eyes which always used to shine with happiness are shining because of tears and he was the reason for it...

"Nandini..." and that was it..She was in his arms while he had securely wrapped her in his arms..

"I am sorry..." she said in between the hug while he made her look at him and kissed her forehead saying that it's ok..

"But manik, u might have planned surprises for me like every year and I spoiled all of them..." nandini said while looking down in guilt.. Manik thought that she was really guilty and was going to cry  so spoke..

"Yes, u spoiled it but no problem.." manik said to her while she at once hugged him in joy...

"Really...then let's go home and sleep..I am really sleepy...I have not slept all night as I was in club..." nandini bite her tongue knowing the blunder she did..She looked up to see manik glaring at her...

"Yeah right...here I was thinking u would come and u were busy partying...so great of u Murthy.." saying so manik separated himself from her and started to move towards the door..

But when he reached the door he found it locked..He looked here and their but no one was there...He turned around to see everyone standing in a line after him..One by one they gave him the cards and a rose..

The cards read..

No promise of making breakfast for u early in the morning or doing any of your works,

No promise of doing things how u like,

No promise of picking up your calls, replying to all your messages,

No promise of listening to all your scolding without interrupting though the mistake is mine,

No promise of taking care of my health by not eating unhealthy foods, by not playing in rain,

Only the promise I can do is...

I won't promise anything as promises are meant to break...

Just want to say whatever situation be it.. I was, am and will always be your HUMESHA.

And finally the cards were over and there she was standing with her ever so beautiful smile while she continued further...

"And that's not any promise..I am stating it and NANDINI MURTHY only states the fact that also universal so there is no going back..." nandini tried joking but there was so much sincerity that manik's heart swelled up in happiness..

"Now, give turn the cards and read ..each letter in them..." manik did as told in order and it read...

"I LOVE U MANIK MALHOTRA...Will YOU MARRY ME?" manik was overwhelmed and now he knew why she was avoiding him ..Because she was busy preparing this surprise for him...

"Nandini..I.." but before he could reply he was warned..

"Dare u say no..because if u say no then also I will not leave u " nandini warned him while he chuckled...

"I will marry u soon-to-be-NANDINI MANIK MALHOTRA.." and her just skipped a beat as her name sounded so perfect with his name in it...

Manik pulled her in a warm hug while she too wrapped her arms around him..Both stayed like that for time while others who were witnessing them reminded nandini of something,,,

"So Manik Malhotra I am going to mark u as mine so dare u..I think u know what I mean..." while Manik smiled looking at his cute mini monster  as she was glaring at the girls around who raised their hands in surrender..

"I AM ALL YOURS" manik spoke giving emphasis to each and every word...

Nandini took out a box from her pocket and opened it to show a beautiful diamond ring...She made him wear it while others hooted for them...Manik looked at the ring carefully and when he looked at the crystal he saw MaNan engraved in it...He looked at it with teary eyes while nandini was observing him ...

"Nandini..this .." before he could say anything nandini spoke..

"I know it's perfect after all it's Nandini Murthy's choice and You now SHE ALWAYS CHOOSES THE PERFECT..." nandini raised her invisible collar while manik got an opportunity to tease her..

"And here finally u accept that I am PERFECT.." nandini rolled her eyes at this but that smile was not leaving her face for once..

"Waise where is my ring? " nandini said out of no where while manik looked at her shocked..Nandini pulled his cheeks looking at his cute face..

" My soon to be husband you are still unknown to hide things so I know that u were going to purpose me ..." the way nandini said my soon to be husband made him feel out of the world while a blush was seen on his face...

"Aww..Manik Malhotra is blushing..." nandini teased him while he rubbed his nape in nervousness..

"Accha I won't tease u but where is my ring.." nandini said and manik looked at her as if thinking..

"I threw it.." manik said while looking down while nandini frowned ..She was glaring at him while he was suppressing his smile ...

"I am kidding..HERE U GO.." saying so manik went on his knees and made her to wear it..Tears of happiness trickled down her eyes which he wiped and kissed her forehead while she closed her eyes in reflex to feel the moment..

"I promise..." but before that only nandini glared at him...

"Okay okay no promises.." manik said while hugging her and she giggled..

"MaNan Forever HUMEHSA HUMESHA?" nandini asked the last part as if it was a question while manik replied..

"HUMESHA.." and finally a new journey of togetherness started..

~Promises are meant to be broken so no promises were taken..But one thing was sure..Their love will remain intact till stars shine and fireflies glow ..HUMESHA..~
