22. A Good Date, Wasn't It?

Hello!!

Long time no see 😂

.*.*.*.

Aditya Mudaliyar, age 28, has done his B.E from IIT and is currently working in a well known Multinational Company as a Software Engineer. Well settled, well mannered family guy and surprisingly good looking too. Too good to be true, isn't it? And here I'm on my way to a lunch date with him.

He's the guy Chachi fixed my meeting with and then sent me all the information regarding him. She also told me that he's also a nonsmoker and non-drinker which I highly doubt because who would tell their parents  if they're doing it?

I reached the restaurant to find him already waiting for me. He is really good looking! He's wearing a white formal shirt with sleeves folded three fourth and two top buttons open of his shirt. He seems busy with his phone so I take baby steps towards him.

You know, I have come here dressed really casually and now I'm feeling under confident about my looks. I didn't expect him to look this good in real life as well, I mean pictures may have filters right?

I cleared my throat to gain his attention as I finally reached his table and he looked up at me. A charming smile came on his face due to recognition and he got up immediately.

"Hey." He greeted causing me to smile nervously.

"Hi. " I greeted him back and he forwarded his hand.

"Aditya. " He introduced himself.

"Nandini. " I shook his hand.

He pulled the chair opposite his for me and I sat down after thanking him and he took his seat.

"Well, people who know me, call me Adi, I mean why take the stress of pronouncing Aditya, right? " He asked and I nodded smiling.

" And I know this Adi thing is as obvious as the fact that you have a really gorgeous smile. " Okay.

"Well, thanks. " I thanked him blushing a bit.

I'm not really used to compliments, that's why, don't get any wrong signals!

"The pleasure is all mine. " He replied grinning.

" Have you ordered something? " I asked trying to initiate a conversation so I can tell him that I'm not interested in getting married, though he's cute.

"No, was waiting for you. " He told me and I began feeling guilty.

"I'm really sorry about that, you know the traffic. " I was lying. I overslept! So sorry Adi!

Wait, but it's all because of that Head of Evil and his antics, he's the one to be blamed and not me.

"Oh no problem, I completely get it. I've been through it as well. " He replied smiling and I felt even more guilty.

"Thank you. " I thanked him and he just shrugged.

"Well actually I have something for you. " He said and stooped on the other side of the table.

"This. " He forwarded a gorgeous bouquet of white pink and yellow lilies.

"Thank you. " I was overwhelmed. No one ever gifted me flowers! Literally no one.

"Mom's idea. " He revealed grinning cheekily causing me to chuckle.

"Thank her on my behalf. " I told him smiling and he nodded.

"I hope you liked them and you're not allergic to them. " He asked cautiously causing me to chuckle.

"I love them and no, I'm not allergic to them at all. " I told him and he sighed in relief. He's adorable.

I hope these lilies don't symbolize anything because I'm just about to tell him that I don't want to get married anytime soon.

"Let's order something please, I'm starving. " He told me and I exhaled deeply.

"Me too. " The food that Mr. Malhotra was talking about never came.

He called the waiter and we gave our orders.

" Nandini I want to tell you something. " He said after a few minutes of pause and I gave him a nod.

" Actually I—" Sir water. " The waiter interrupted and kept the glasses on the table.

"You were saying something. " I reminded after the waiter left and he looked at me nervously.

"Um, nothing important. You tell me something about yourself. " He insisted and I nodded.

"There's nothing much to tell honestly. " I told him truthfully and a small smile came on his lips.

"I get it you don't like talking much, but you gotta say something at least, I can't keep on talking the whole time alone, it's sort of weird. " He said making a confused face causing me to chuckle.

Before I left my house I had this in mind that I'll go there, say no to the guy and come back but nothing is happening like that. Instead I'm finding it really hard to tell him that I don't want this and we should head back.

"There's really nothing much. I lost my parents at a very young age and since then I just have sister and Chacha-chachi in the name of family and I really love them. I also love cooking and plantation and my whole life revolves around Nalini and work, that's all. " I told him and he smiled.

"And you are an introvert who's finding it really difficult to tell me that she doesn't wants to get married. " My eyes widened at his words and his smile grew.

"How do you... Can you read minds? " I asked sitting straight and he chuckled.

"I'm not that great. " He chuckled.

"Then how do you? " I asked in confusion.

"It's written all over your face Nandini. " He told me chuckling and I looked down flushed.

"But what I need to know is, is it me because of whom you—" "Oh no no. " I interrupted him immediately.

"It's just that I'm too caught up with work and Nalini that I really don't think I can get married anytime soon. It has nothing to do with you or any other guy. " I assured him and he looked at me with confusion.

"But I wanted to ask if is it me because of whom you're flushed or the AC ?" He asked sincerely causing my mouth to open in disbelief.

"What? " I asked keeping my palms on my cheeks and he busted into laughter causing me to glare at him.

"This is not how you treat your date, by making fun of her. " I complained crossing my arms and his laughter increased causing me to laugh as well.

"You are damn cute when you cross your arms like that trying to look mad. " He said laughing causing me to roll my eyes, smiling.

The waiter took this time to come with our food and without wasting any time we dug into our food.

"Just because I don't want to get married, it doesn't means we can't be friends. " I was myself shocked with my sentence. I have never said something like this in my whole life.

"I see you don't want to lose me. I know I'm precious. " He said dramatically causing me to roll my eyes again.

"Right right. " I mumbled having my food.

After that it went really easy, we were talking like some long lost friends and I had a really good time after ages. We became friends and with a promise of being in touch he dropped me home and left only after I was inside the building.

He is a gentleman and has a really good sense of humor. I must say Chachi has a good choice, I mean if I was actually looking for a guy to marry, I would have considered Adi for more meetings.

With a happy heart and full stomach, I got inside the lift and his funny jokes rang in my ears causing me to smile.

Being in my own zone with a grin plastered on my lips, I opened my house's door and got in.

Keeping my bag on the side table, I lied down on the couch holding a pillow and sighed in content.

"A good date, wasn't it Miss. Murthy? " I jumped at the sudden calm deep voice and spotted Mr. Malhotra standing near my balcony's door.

Damn!
