Before entering the story, I would like to clarify some basic points about the story...

This is a fully fictional story...

This world's known as terra ( earth or land in Latin) there are 5 continents here... first Orion, Aries, Cygnus, Carnia and last but not least Cassiopeia or homines terra/ human land...

Our heroine Nandini is living in Carnia... here, there is a special tradition for werewolves... from a long time ago, the kings of Carnia were all known to be mateless...

it was known in the ancient books that when the 1st king of Carnia was born, the elder of the town announced that he had no mate... the elder of the town and the 1st King's family prayed the moon goddess earnestly... and after like 100 years of continuous praying the moon goddess finally replied by giving them a boon... their king or alpha if hadn't found his mate yet is granted a chosen one from the moon goddess herself... ( here a werewolf can live up to 500 years... hence 100 years means the king was in his youth...)

The chosen ones are also called lunas...

Now Back to the story. A day before the happening or prologue. Morning, 9:30 am.

Sitting in front of the mirror, She looked at the girl with sharp features and big doe eyes.

"Ah, I still look as gorgeous as ever," she muttered smiling as she did some final touch up.

Nandini Murthy. Daughter of Dr. Ram Murthy and Mrs. Padma Murthy. She is the chosen one for the prince of Carnia, Harshad Saxena. She is an upright and serious woman who knew what she was and how to get people to respect her which was often misunderstood.

*knock *knock

"Come in." She said. The door opened revealing a brunette in casuals.

"Hey sista looking beautiful ha. Looks like bhai is gonna have a hard time," She said wiggling her brow while Nandini covered her mouth as she laughed.

"I know princess. Now, come let's do some shopping for tomorrow's ball," She said while Aliya rolled her eyes.

Except for being slightly old fashioned, Nandini was perfect according to Aliya.

"It's not a ball sista, its a party. And I don't want you wearing those long dresses like this one. You are beautiful and I want you to show off." She said flipping her hair while nandu shook her head.

"Nah alu... You feel comfortable in them, while I don't. And your brother likes me like this more. Ok enough of this now and let's not waste any more time. Come let's go." She said taking the most reasonable excuse. Seeing that Nandini is trying to divert the topic Aliya also left it half-heartedly. They both went downstairs and exited the house moving towards the car.

Alan fashion boutique. 10:45 am.

Arriving there both Nandini and Aliya gracefully walked towards the receptionist who smiled looking at them. They were regular costumers after all.

He led them towards the latest collections. He also called the head designer who was more than happy to accompany them.

"So you think, Bhai is going to propose you," she said suddenly taking Nandini by surprise. Nandini widened her eyes at Aliya before blushing.

"Alu, that's not the way to speak," she said while aliya just rolled her eyes.

*God, this is not the 19th century... it's 20 for god sake... If she was not my oh so amazing friend who genuinely treats me... I would have left her long ago...* She thought but shook her head, how could she leave this idiotic 19th-century girl who she dearly calls her sis cum bestie.

"Ok, ok... So what do you think..." she asked eagerly ignoring Nandini's words. While Nandini rolled her eyes. She will never change...

"I... I don't know... maybe..." She said while Aliya chuckled.

"He seems to be planning something though..." She said while Nandini blushed slightly before handing her a dress and shooing her to try it.

*Never in her life did she imagine... That his surprise would break her soo much...*

Nandu was waiting for aliya who was now trying on her third dress. A girl came near her.

"Hey! You there... Can you get me a glass of water?" She asked while Nandini raised her brow. Though her dress was low key, She never thought that someone would misunderstand her to be a worker.

"You mean me..." She asked pointing towards herself while the girl nodded. Beside her was another girl who was asking the girl to leave it.

"Yeah you..." She said while Nandini stood up from her place and went near them slightly towering them.

"Look, little girl, you don't order me... I do... If you get that, I hope you know what to do." She said sneering before returning to her seat leaving the two dumbfounded girls.

"Hey! How dare you... do you know who we are?" She said while Nandini nodded in a no. And continued selecting her dress ignoring them.

"You... She is pregnant with-" She was cut off by the head designer who led them towards another room While Nandini just rolled her eyes at the commotion.

*If only she heard what the girl said... Maybe it would have changed everything...*

After selecting their dresses, the two girls finally bid farewell to the head designer. They both had lunch on their way before Aliya dropped Nandini in her home and went to her own.

In Murthy mansion. 4:30 pm.

"So, is that Aliya...?" Padma asked coldly. While nandu rolled her eyes inwardly but maintained her stern appearance...

"Yes, it is her..." she spoke in a monotonous voice and left towards her room before her mother could make another conversation with her.

"It better be, I don't want you to hang around with boys other than Harshad,  did you hear that?" She shouted slightly while nandu tightened her fist. But ignored her and entered into her room. Padma went and stood in front of the door...

"You... you unfilial daughter... how dare you to ignore me... don't come down for dinner..." She shouted at the door before going to her room angrily.

Its ok nandu... it's ok... soon you will be free... Harshad will free you from this cage... she thought as she curled herself like a ball...

I will never break... not even in the dark... I am a strong woman... I know it very well... I had become numb to this feeling... I know once I take my place, no one would push me again... I will be the queen... She thought... She heard a whisper as she slowly drifted into sleep...

"Yes, you will be the queen..." She said gently...

The voice she knew belonged to her wolf... Rae...

It was almost midnight when nandu woke up. She didn't know why. She felt like she needed a run.

"Common nandu... don't you wanna have a run?" She asked while Nandini rolled her eyes before jumping off from her window which was 3 floors from the ground.

"I want to but-"

"No buts." She said sternly.

"Look, Rae, I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about this," She said as she looked around cautiously.

Seeing no one around She slipped off her nightdress before securely tying it around her leg.

Nandu took a deep breath... 1, 2, and 3... She counted in her mind as she imagined herself in her wolf form.

Crack*

There stood a majestic white wolf with striking black eyes. She was slightly bigger than other female wolves. Her eyes turned red in a few seconds as Rae took over and ran freely.

The air felt good. She ran and ran until she reached the lake she always visits.

She looked at her reflecting. Her eyes were back to black. She just sat there looking at the moon.

After some time she ran back to the mansion. She wore her clothes and climbed back into her room.

"Jumping is very easy compared to climbing back." She muttered as she cursed her luck and Rae who grumpily murmured something like you also had fun right.

Finally reaching her room nandu laid down on her bed. She looked at the ceiling for a while before drifting to sleep again.

Next morning.

A knock disturbed nandu's sleep. She grumpily woke up and tied her robe around her and straightened her appearance before opening the door.

"Your dad is calling you... get ready..." Padma said coldly. While Nandini just nodded before closing the door...

She first took out the outfit for the day before going into the bathroom.

"Oh my god... this feels amazing..." She said as she felt the warmth of the water hitting her.

"Just shut up... I am trying to relax..." she said as she inhaled and exhaled.

"You don't have to be nervous. That brat is no way suitable for you." She taunted while Nandini frowned.

"I am his chosen one... of course he is..." She retorted while Rae just ignored Nandini.

Nandu too huffed as she cannot argue with her unreasonable wolf.

(Rae: hey! I am NOT unreasonable...)

After her long bath she got ready and went down. She was greeted by a long silence. Her mother and father were sitting near the dining table.

She too went and sat in her usual place.

"So, I heard he is going to propose to you tonight... is it true?" Ram said putting his newspaper down which he was reading previously.

"I don't know... I guess..." She said while Padma hit the table with her hand.

"You don't know! then what do you know ha... that's why I tell you this girl doesn't listen to me..." She said while Ram just raised his brow but said nothing. This was not unusual, her father never disagrees with her mother.

"I hope you remember, whatever you do affects us... And if something goes wrong then I won't hesitate to remove your name from the family register..." he said cutting his steak. Nandini had enough of their bullshit.

"Yes I am aware... and I would like to leave now... I have to meet Aliya..." She said as she bowed to them before going to her room.

"Damn! I didn't even get to eat a small bite..." She said while Nandini rolled her eyes at her dramatic wolf. She too felt a bit hungry considering that she "missed" dinner last night.

She went and grabbed her purse and left to aliya's mansion.

Reaching there, nandu went straight towards aliya's bedroom and knocked on the door.

"Who the hell dares to disturb this princess..." She said opening the door to see a sarcastically smiling nandu saying me.

"Oh the queen..." She said scoffing while Nandini hit her arm.

"Accha go and get ready... I am hungry..." She said while Aliya rolled her eyes at her.

"If you are hungry ask the chef to cook for you. Why are you coming to me?" She asked while Nandini rolled her eyes and pushed her into the bathroom. She then went to select Aliya, her dress for the day.

She passed the dress to Aliya who took it and walked into her closest. After getting ready they both went down and sat in the dining area.

As soon as the food came Nandini just threw her manners and wolfed down the meal. Aliya raised her brow.

"nandu..."

No response.

"Rae..." She called out and nandu/Rae's head shot up from the plate revealing her red eyes. Aliya chuckled a little before having her meal. Soon, the meal was finished.

"That stupid, idiot Rae..." She said wiping her self clean. Aliya laughed at her friend's troubled and angry face filled with food.

After cleaning herself they both enjoyed the rest of the day talking and watching movies. Soon it was time for the party. They both were all ready looking stunning in their dresses.

Nandini particularly was looking more beautiful in red.

Her hair was tied in an elegant bun with some of her hair falling. She had dark red lipstick on and Smokey eyes.

All in all, she looked amazing. All ready for her day.
