"What", Manik dropped Kabir while he coughed.
"Every mated Female wolf will be in heat on that day."
" I have not marked her yet that's not ...." Manik's face held a look of disbelief.

"That is the reason Manik. Did you forget what the elders said in the last council meeting. They warned you that the first time heat hits your mate all the mated female will go in heat. And how it would help them to confirm that the person is your one true mate. Also it makes sure that an Alpha does not hide his female for too long from the pack. Do you remember? " Cabir said moving his hands vigorously while explaining everything.

Manik looked like someone who has been run down by a car. I was only a mute spectator to their conversation looking at both of them from time to time trying to assess how bad it could be.

" Damn, how did it slip out of my mind" His face was constrained.
" We need to talk" He stated. His voice held an urgency.
" Let's go to your office " Kabir asserted before I intervened
" Am I coming too? If not " I eyed the two.
" Then I suggest you two talk here in my room right in front of  my eyes as this concerns me with everyone else." They looked at each other before sighing and nodded.

" I have quite a big bed." I said sitting on my bed with legs in a criss cross pattern before patting the empty space near me. 
They both followed with three of us forming a circle.
They both started discussing things most of which went right above my head.

Bored of listening, I picked up the bowl of chips on my drawer with cabir and Manik still talking about how to inform the elders and how they should proceed keeping in mind that it would be hard to handle the pack with manik himself down and how they would need the council's help to maintain peace.

I munched a chips making some noise, hoping to get some of their attention. They didn't not seem to notice so I continued eating one after another without any care and I felt their eyes on me.
I cleared my throat slowly moving the bowl forward offering them the chips. Manik was shooting daggers at me while  Kabir politely declined.

" What are you doing? " Manik faked a smile at me when I tried to smile.
"Eating? " I replied raising a brow and a chips before eating it.
He gave me an irritated look.
"What? I am hungry. A girls gotta eat." I exclaimed awkwardly.
" You just had your dinner an hour back" Manik pointed out rudely.
" It really is not your business mister. I can eat whenever I want to." I was angry at his audacity to say something like this. You don't say that to anyone it's outright rude.

" You're disturbing us with all those stupid noises. We are talking something serious here. " He scowled again.
"You are the only one whose getting distracted. Cabir doesn't seem to have any problem with me. Maybe the problem is with you " I spat back. Take that ha!

He said nothing but kept staring. Finally I shrugged knowing this was not going anywhere " Fine then involve me in the conversation. I won't." Manik huffed.
" Are not you sitting here? Please get involved" He remarked sarcastically.
"Yes except that the two Of you continue talking like I'm not even present in the room." I replied in the same tone.

"Okay okay calm down guys we have a more pressing matter at our hand you two can contain with this bickering later on." Cabir insisted. We both nodded.
" So the thing is what do we say to the council. They will be angry for not being informed so early. " Cabir looked at Manik.
" We can tell them that I was kidnapped" I suggested both Manik and Kabir looked at her.

" Actually that's not a bad idea we can tell them so much happened that we never got the time to inform them." Manik sounded convinced.

"And the pack do we tell them" Cabir asked again.
"Thats not important right now the mated wolves can be given an off on the day. It would any way last a few hours maybe 4-6 at most. That should not be a problem. "

" No that's not safe. You can't risk anyone. We will have to inform them thats the only way out. Anyway I don't think the council would agree to otherwise. " I meddled. Manik seem to be lost in deep thinking before he nodded at me

" Will that be same for me as well." I further enquired.
" No that will be the peak of your heat. It will dissolve slowly. The waves would not hit as hard thereafter. " Manik answered looking out of the window

I made a 'oh' face nodding my head. "So that's it then tomorrow you go and talk to the elders and inform the pack about the holiday. Huh!! Problem solved. " I exclaimed.

Manik took a deep breath probably trying to control his rage while I stifled a yawn." Kabir about the day. Can you stay with her here as the night guard. I can't trust her with anyone but you. " Manik asked calmly.

"That should not be a problem. I guess I will talk to navya once. " Cabir accepted it as an order.
" Oh no no no she will also be in heat. You can't just leave her alone. I'll be fine don't worry about me. I promise I'll not try anything" I said turning my gaze from Kabir to Manik raising both of my hands in protest.

Manik was about to say something but then sighed and let go. He knew I was not entirely wrong here. It would be difficult for both of them.
"Fine I will figure something out. Make sure the mated females are safe. They should either be with their mate or moved to the safe house for the day. I don't want any kind of nuisance.
Unmated wolves should also be warned in case they come across such a situation. I guess she is right that's the only way"
He said his eyes fixed on me. I could see a hint of pride and admiration in them not sure whether for me.

" You'll make a great Luna someday" Kabir claimed suddenly. to which I gulped. That certainty won't be happening not now not ever. My face held an emotion of betrayal that even I could  not decipher before I quickly hid it with a smile " Haha Thank you milord".

Did I see Manik' s lips twitching upwards. Maybe I was too sleepy.
"Goodnight" I wished them both before closing the door. Huh it was difficult to be so close to him and yet.. Hmm I sighed. Let's hope for a better tomorrow Nandini I said to myself switching off the lights and pulling the blanket over me.

Next few days were pretty much the same Manik had a talk with elders and they were convinced thankfully. At least this is what Kabir told me yesterday when we met. I spent most part of my days with Aliya and Navya.  Often At night Manik came to see me well to check on me that is what he said apparently. He wanted to make sure I was not upto something.

" Can I come in? " He asked genuinely. He looked tired with dark circles around and bags under his eyes. He still managed to look decent.
I moved aside and let him in. "So you were about to sleep? " he questioned looking at me and then my bed. I was ready in my night suit to hit the bed minutes before Manik showed up.
He was usually early I thought he would not be coming to visit today but then he showed up.

" That's what I have been doing lately" I replied.
" Yeah, I know it's hard on you but it has to be like this. I hope you understand." He explained. His voice sorrowful.

" Are you okay? " I asked going near him. " You don't look so well" I said caressing his face.
" I'm fine" He placed his palm on top of mine stroking my fingers.
We were looking at each for God knows how long before he asked " Can I stay for the night? " He looked right into my eyes.
Shivers ran down my body. " Manik .. I.. Actually " My voice wavered at the thought of what could he possibly want.
He placed his palm on my cheek lightly stroking it. " I promise I will behave. I just want to sleep. I promise I'll not try anything" He inserted smugly mimicking my words from earlier. I didn't realise I was already nodding my head agreeing to let him sleep in here with me when my heat is just a day away.

I climbed to my bed and waited for him to get in. He took off his shirt leaving his upper body bare. While he still had his joggers on he climbed on to my left side. His arms snaked my waist pulling me closer to himself. He quickly turned me over so that I was now facing him. He nuzzled my neck rubbing the skin over there softly before placing a chaste kiss.
He looked at me and smiled before hiding his face in the crook of my neck. He sharply drew in a breath maybe to get a whiff of my scent. I felt him relax against my touch as I slowly run my fingers through his hair. I soon heard his even breath indicating that he was fast asleep. I snuggled close to him as I felt my eyes drooping letting his warmth engulf me and heart beat lull me to a peaceful slumber.

Hey everyone!! I know many of you were asking about the females of pack going into heat with nandini. Yes basically I read somewhere that when the luna of the pack gets her first heat the pack females also experience it. I don't remember where exactly. It might not be correct but then again this is a fiction. I hope you all don't mind. And about the updates. Guys I will be updating one chapter in every three days for sure. I'll try to update sooner but I can't promise.
