Chapter - 59
Location - Malhotra Mansion; London
Dad! Manik whispered finally after minutes of hesitating and fidgeting; kneeling down beside his father's bed and holding his hand between his two. Ever since he had left; Mr. Malhotra being a Parent was sure that he would come and just smiled with his eyes still closed; giving his child the chance to speak his heart even though he already knew every bit of it. Emotionally; Manik kissed his hand and apologized like a kid; resting his forehead on his knuckles I am Sorry Dad! I shouldn't have shouted on you. Bohot bura beta hoon main! Aapki tabyat ka bhi dhyan nahi rakha! I am really Sorry! Main sorry bolraha hoon per aap mujhe maaf mat karna. Don't forgive me! I Love You! Smiling more; Mr. Malhotra opened his eyes and replied, after wiping the lone tear in his eye and lovingly patting his cheek I Love You More Son! Aur isiliye main tujhse kabhi naraz ho hi nahi sakta. Toh maaf karne ka sawal hi paida nahi hota! Its okay. Don't be so hard on yourself. There goes a true and wise saying that Children always stay children for their Parents no matter how much older they get and acting very much accordingly; Manik hugged his Dad tight and beaming broadly at his affection; Mr. Malhotra said, ruffling his hair Wese tu kuch bhi karley! Chillaye ya ghussa karey per phir bhi tere paas best beta honey ka title rahega hamesha! Pooch kiun? Straightening himself; Manik smiled and asked the reason to which Mr. Malhotra answered playfully, looking at the door of his room out of the corners of his eyes Because teri wajah se I have that angel in my life jisney humesha ki tarah tujhe shaant kiya aur abhi chup chup kar hamari baatein sunrahi hai. Princess! Eavesdropping karna buri baat hai. Being the height of cuteness she is; Nandini peeped into the room and asked, jiggling her eyebrows Apko kese pata chala? The Malhotra Men exchanged smiles at her antic and then the older one replied impishly, lifting himself off his spine to sit against the headboard My Einstein Princess! You forgot to hide your shadow! Ha Ha! Come inside Baccha! Manik sniggered and smiling sheepishly; she trotted towards the bed, hopped on it from the other side and asked, laying her head in his lap Aapko abhi better feel horaha hai? Kuch chahiye kya aapko? Affectionately; Mr. Malhotra dropped a peck on her forehead and replied, caressing her hair I am perfectly fine beta. Mujhe toh kuch nahi chahiye per aapke bournvita ka time hogaya hai. Nandini smiled warmly and then he said, turning to Manik; who was busy admiring the father and daughter Maine boldiya tha tayyar rakhne ke liye! Ready hoga. Ja jaker le aa! More than ready to do anything for his ickle baby; Manik agreed and made his out to fetch the glass of the Bournvita from the kitchen. As per the given orders; the flavored milk was kept prepared and so quickly grabbing the glass; he picked some dry fruits for her and returned back into the room as fast as he could only to find her fast asleep. Taking stealthy steps; he moved near them and Mr. Malhotra said in muted voice Bohot gehri neend mein hain. Room mein aaraam se lejaker suladey. Dhoodh rehne de! Raat ko aankh khuli toh piladena. Giving a slight nod; Manik smoothly scooped her in his arms and bidding him a Good Night; exited the room.
. . . . .
The clock had already ticked past midnight and the hours of darkness were slowly but surely fading into the breaking dawn. Holding her securely in his warmth with his face dug in her hair; Manik was having a sound sleep when suddenly he sensed a sort of discomfort in her body and confirming it; her grip tightened on his hand; which was coiled around her waist. Jerking himself out of his slumber; he shot open his eyes to see her getting restless and mumbling his name incoherently in sleep. The next moment; she drew her knees close to her chest - curling up into ball, flinched, and before he could register anything, sniffed and then burst out crying. Panicked to his nerves already; he snuggled her more closer to himself and asked, cupping her cheek Shona! Baby why are you crying? Kya hua? She was conscious but instead of replying and scaring him all the more; she screamed painfully and began wriggling violently whilst blubbing hysterically. Tears welled up in his eyes seeing her in that state and weeping silently; he again asked, breathing heavily out of fear and trying his best to calm her down Shona please mujhe batao kya hua? Kahan dard horaha hai baby? Please mujhe batao! Clinging onto him; she clutched his shirt and wailed, somehow managing to speak against the excruciating pain Mani!! Me.. mere pet m .. me; boht d.. dard horaha ha! Aaa! Mani!! Help me!! Aaa!! Her every squeal was butchering his heart, making it bleed and was shredding his soul into threads. And if this wasn't enough; Frightening him to death and striking terror into him, Nandini whined Mani Baby! Baby k.. ko kuch .. ! Aaa! Both were aware of the otherwise possible and characteristic innocuous reasons that could have triggered the pain; she being a medical student herself and Manik having literally mugged up the pregnancy guide; but being in such an undesirable situation where there were fair chances of their baby getting harmed - they weren't able to do anything else with their brains but worry and worry more and more. Nandini was totally delirious and Manik was going blank bit by bit but fortunately; they weren't alone and had someone experienced and wise around. Hearing her echoing bawls; Mr. Malhotra rushed into their room and asked, taking Nandini from Manik and making her drink some water Kya hua Princess? Shhh! Shhh! Kuch nahi hoga! Dadda is here na! Stop crying! He wiped her tears and to add to the tension; she began taking deep long breaths and then yelped, clawing at her chest Mani! Mer .. Yahan pe .. per bhi dard .. Aaa! This totally unnerved Manik and he cried, rubbing her hand that was clenching his Baby please ro mat! Just Breathe! Dad please kuch kijiye! Pehle sirf pet me dard horaha tha ab chest! Please Do something Dad! Mr. Malhotra laid her on the bed and just then; much to their good; the Gynac walked in, whom he had summoned to be at his place within 5 minutes, and immediately took the charge. After enquiring about all the important whens and whats; the Doctor examined a distressed Nandini thoroughly, fed her a spoonful of some liquid medicine and then administered a tranquillizer to her with an injection. Much to the relief of Mr. Malhotra and Manik; Nandini relaxed and soon dozed off and then the doctor reassured, giving the awaited answers and putting their worried sick hearts at peace Nothing to worry. She and the baby are completely fine. The abdominal pain was because of Gas. Cutting her in between; Manik objected But she doesn't have that problem. The doctor blinked her eyes and then replied May be she didn't but she will have this now. In pregnancy, women develop gas due to increased hormones and changes in the size of uterus. And that causes these pains. This is new for her thats why it proved to be this severe for her. Don't keep her empty for long and Make her eat food in short quantities, many times a day instead of three to four large meals. And nothing is better than a little exercise. Take her for a walk two times in a day. That would keep her safe from this and also other such problems. Use this antacid if something like this happens again. She will be absolutely fine by the time she wakes up. She handed him the Bottle along with the prescription and left, after taking her fee and deserved token of gratitude.
Staring at her with moistened eyes; Manik kissed her hand and Mr. Malhotra said, sitting beside and comforting him Its Okay beta! Tu itna weak hoga toh kaisa chalega? Tujhe hi toh agey chalker ussey sambhalna hai! You have to be strong Champ! He put his hand on her head and replied, stroking it tenderly I can't be strong when it comes to her Dad! She is my weakness. But I know she is a fighter! And I will be strong for her. Mr. Malhotra smiled and then Manik requested Aap jaker so jaiyye Dad! Main hoon na yahan. Aapko bhi aaram ki zaroorat hai. He insisted more and so giving in; Mr. Malhotra asked him to be fine and retired to his room. Closing the door; Manik lied down beside her, cuddled her into himself and mumbled, brushing his lips against her skin Mera Baby Kitna roya aaj. Bohot pain hua na. Per Promise! This was the first and last time. I won't let this happen again. I Love You So So Much. He sealed his Promise with a short kiss on her lips and spent the remaining night; adoring her.
. . . . .
Baby! Uthne ka time hogaya hai. Uthjao na Please! Manik whispered, nuzzling her neck in order to wake her up as the morning had grown pretty much young and breakfast time was just an hour away. Burying more into the crook of her neck; she muttered, pulling the duvet over herself Mujhe nahi uthna. Baby wants to sleep Papa! Pleeeaaassee! I Love You!! Her lethargy clearly manifested that her nervous system was still under the effect of sedative but compromising with her health for any valid or invalid reason was not even worth considering; especially after the recent fit and so; he denied lovingly, taking the duvet off her I Love You Too Baby! But Its time to butter bread! Not Papa! Be accha baccha! Breakfast karna hai nahi toh raat ke jese dard hoga! At its mention; she remembered the incident of the previous night and asked promptly, tilting her head upwards to look at him Kya kaha kal raat doctor ne? Kiun hua tha dard aur baby? Baby theek hai na? Joining her forehead with his, he assured, raking his fingers through her hair Haan Baby bilkul theek hai. Kal raat ko deri se khana khaya tha na! Isliye dard hua! Kitna pain hua mere baby ko kal! Abhi dard toh nahi horaha na? Leisurely; she wrapped her arms around him and said in her sugary voice, resting her head on his heartNahi horaha! Bohot pareshan kia na maine kal. Bohot tension bhi di na! I am Sorry Papa! He pressed his lips on her temple and replied, hugging her more tightly Don't say Sorry Baby. Isme mere babies ka koi fault nahi tha. But Yes! Papa can't afford to see you like that again; isliye ab jaldi se uthjao! Hmming a No!; she pecked his lips and coaxed, making a puppy face with her eyes half - opened Please Papa! Bas thodi der aur! Pata hai mujhe you didn't sleep whole night. Then tracing his eyes with her index finger; she added See you got dark circles also! Isliye you also sleep for some time. And let me also sleep thoda aur. Please! She was being 100 times more cuddly than usual and he so wanted to coddle her but the supercaring alarm inside him was not just ringing but snoozing, vibrating and blaring altogether and so unstoppably that all the second thoughts were getting instantly suppressed. She looked on with hope but keeping a stone on his heart for the sake of her betterment; he gestured a No and in a flash; lifted her off the bed and carried her to the washroom door. She pouted; obviously not pleased; and pecking her pout, he said, forcing her into the bathroom Breakfast ke baad; phir se sojana. Jitna chahey utna. Per abhi nahi. Sorry! Bas brush karke wapas ajao. Shower baad mein karenge. Come Soon! Acting clever; she veered about and tried to run but failed, as he quickly caught her and then making a poker face; she snapped, as he plonked her on the basin worktop, ran out and quickly bolted the door from outside You know right I hate you!! He just chuckled at her sweet little white lie and moved to arrange the bed.
. . . . .
Itni der hogayi. PaNi ki awaz to kabse arahi hai. Brush karne itni der toh nahi lagti.Manik wondered; pacing to and fro in front of the bathroom and then asked, lightly knocking the door Baby!! Itna time kiun lagraha hai? Its been 25 minutes! He waited for some time but no answer came and on getting to hear only the continuous sound of running tap water even after probing again and again; he opened the door slightly and keeked in. His lips stretched from ear to ear in amazement and his eyes glistened with awe at the cutest sight of his chotuness zizzing - standing against the basin with toothpaste tube in one hand and toothbrush in the other. She looked exactly like a lazy school going kiddiewink; who freezes at every step out of drowsiness in the morning while getting ready for the school and like always - he was awestruck. Grinning heartily at her babyness; he strode towards her and being unable to contain the strong urge; gave her a smacker full of Love on lips. Jolted out of her doze; she fluttered her lashes, struggled with her heavy eyes and peered adorably at him in confusion. Awwing more; he again kissed her lips and then dropping the paste and brush; she leaned on him and murmured softly Thori der na Mani please. Bohot neend arahi hai. Already there was a tiny Jerry voice in his heart; that was actively opposing the Tomish idea of ruining her beauty sleep and her this soft babyish plea made it impossible for him to resist further. He pondered over the issue for some seconds and then said, bending down to her face Okay my Baby! Sojana! Bas thoda sa doodh peeney ke baad. Peeyega na? She crooned a honeyedhmmm and sucking her lips; he swept her up in his arms, returned to the bed, settled on it and nestled her in his lap. A warm glass of Milk enhanced with Bournvita was presented in No time and he made his little doll drink; sip by sip; with ample cossetting while she continued to drowse. Once done; he tucked her back in the bed and purred, swaddling her in the blanket Have a peaceful sleep baby. She smiled and then maffled something affectionate; being the sweetheart she is Please Dad ko ek bar dekhlo Mani. Aur please breakfast bhi karlo ap dono! Dad ki dawai ka time hogaya hai. Twinkling at her never ending care; he mouthed an Ok, kissed her lips to his heart's content and sneaked out of the bed and then out of the room to check on Mr. Malhotra.
. . . . .
Freak Dad! Kaise pata laga aapko iske baarey mein? And yeh idea mujhe pehle kiun nahi aya?? God! She will be so so so damn happy! Issey better gift uske liye aur kuch ho hi nahi sakta! Manik exclaimed with joy; leafing through a file given by his Dad and eyeballing the photograph pinned in it simultaneously. Mr. Malhotra smiled at his ebullience and replied, imagining his Princess' delighted expression Issey kam main uske liye kuch soch bhi nahi sakta! Indeed she will be happy! And that is all I want.Deferentially; Manik gave him a quick hug; thanking him silently for loving his Love so much and then asked, looking at him inquisitively Per Dad! How did you find it? Wasn't it hard? Smirking the Khandani way; Mr. Malhotra answered or rather boasted Nothing is hard for Malhotras! And definitely not for Manvik Malhotra. Manik rolled his eyes and then keeping the jokes apart; Mr. Malhotra briefed Bohot time se main soch raha tha iske barey mein. Per koi clue hi nahi milraha tha. Mr. Murthy se bhi contact kiya but who bhi kuch help nahi karsake. I almost gave up but then Princess ne itni acchi news sunayi. I had to gift her with something special. Aur mujhe issey better kuch lag hi nahi raha tha. Search phirse shuru karwayi; double pressure dala aur tab jaker ek mahine pehle records haath lagey. Hum gaye wahan aur luckily - wesa ka wesa mila. Thode contacts use kiye and kaam bangaya! Wrapped; Manik smiled and then stated gratefullyYou're the Best Dad! Love You For this. Just can't wait to break this news to her! Kab bataney waley ho aap ussey? From under his pillow; Mr. Malhotra pulled out another file and replied, passing it to him Maine socha tha ke tumhari trip ke end mein main tum dono yahan bulaunga aur phir ussey gift karunga. Ab jab tumlog agae ho toh why delay? Aaj hi I will gift her! Per uske liye tujhe wahan jaker thoda sa final paperwork niptana hoga. Yahan se thoda sa door hai toh abhi jana padega tujhe. Princess ki fikr mat kar. Main uska dhyan rakhunga. Sab final hojaney ke baad tu mujhe batadena. Main ussey saath lekar ajaunga! He trusted his Dad blindly and had 1000% confidence in his care and protectiveness for Nandini. Moreover, he was just too much thrilled to hold himself from going 'there' and so readily obeying, he took the important documents, asked him to take care of and inform Nandini, got ready, kissed and hugged his sleeping beauty, left a love note for her and departed from the Mansion.
. . . . .
My Aurora
Mujhe kuch kaam ke liye bahar jana padraha hai. Maine breakfast karliya Dad ke sath. Don't worry for anything. Jab bhi utho; acche se khana khalena. And apna dhyan rakhna. Miss Me!
Will Meet You Soon Love!
Lots of Love *kisses*
Manik
Nandini read the note with a smile; on finally rousing after 3 long hours by herself and sighed Love You Too! Then saving the note under her pillow for the meantime; she glanced at the clock and charged up on finding it snicking quarter past 10. Cursing herself under her breath for being irresponsible, superlate, sleepyhead, casual and whatnot; she jumped out of the bed, pulled out her towel and clothes and hurried into the washroom to get freshened up.
. . . . .
Good Morning Princess! Mr. Malhotra chirped; halting his morning walk in the garden on seeing his Princess finally awake and strolling towards him. She gave him a late morning + early afternoon hug and replied, draping the shawl that she had brought along, around him Good Morning Dadda! But aap aise bina koi sweater ke bahar kiun aye? Thand lagjaegi na! Smiling at her concern; Mr. Malhotra bussed her forehead and said, framing his hand around her shoulder and leading her back into the house Thodi si thand lagna health ke liye accha hota hai! But yeh sab chodo. When did my baccha wake up? Neend puri hui na? Aur abhi tabyat theek hai na? Nodding her head with utmost innocence, she answered with traces of guilt in her voice Ab I am fine Dad! Abhi abhi I woke up. Pata nahi kiun itni neend arahi thi. Kal raat aap dono ko kitna daraya aur ab itni der tak sogayi! I am sor .. Ouch! She winced as Mr. Malhotra twisted her ear, obviously gently, and then he uttered Khabardar jo mujhse Sorry bola! And no need to explain anything! You are my Princess! Sab kuch allowed hai tujhe. She just smiled and then Mr. Malhotra asked, taking her into the dining room and making her sit Bhook lagi hogi na! Chalo tell me what My Princess wants to have in breakfast? Thanks to the astonishingly plenteous whole milk; that she had been made to drink earlier in the morning; Nandini wasn't really craving for any particular dish and in fact; wasn't even hungry but knowing skipping the meal won't be good for her Baby and also that her doting Dadda would never allow it; she thought of eating a little and replied nonchalantlyKuch special nahi Dadda! Bas light oat meal. The father in him; who was looking forward to feed his own little heart with something delectable and nutritious - didn't like the boring idea of having just oat meal and said, voicing the same Yeh Kya Princess? Just oats! Pata hai main tabse kya kya sochraha tha. I had planned to cook for you today. Per sirf oatmeal? This is cheating. You should have demanded something heavy baccha. Touched by the way he babies her; she hugged him and replied, in a cutesy toneApne socha yahi bohot hai mere liye. I Love You Dadda! Smiling at her tenderness; he kissed her head and said, holding her face with gentle hands Dadda Loves You More! Aur isiliye! Dadda will still cook. Sirf sochna kafi nahi hota. She opened her mouth to protest but shushing her; Mr. Malhotra added You are not going to stop me. And if you will do so toh mujhe lagega ke you doubt my cooking skills. You do? Playing around; she pretended to think over it for some seconds on which he sulked and then tee heeing, she repliedHehe! No! I don't doubt my Dadda because he is perfect. Endearingly; he pulled her cheek and said with a smile My naughty Baccha! Ab sit her and munch on these dry fruits - Main abhi gaya aur abhi aya! She waggled her head with smile and handing her a box of mixed dry fruits; he moved into the kitchen to rustle up a delicious oat meal.
. . . . .
Dadda this is so Yummy! I never had this kind of masaledar oats. Pata hai Dadda! Manik also cooks aise new new inventions. I must say - Malhotras have hidden culinary skills. Per aapko yeh soojha kese? Nandini remarked; savoring the temptingly tasty spiced up oats and feeling gruntled; Mr. Malhotra replied Bas punjabi honey ka nateeja hai Beta! Pheekhi cheezein khayi nahi jati isliye bas har cheez mein masale mix kardete hain. Saying so; he guffawed and she too tittered and just then; Mr. Malhotra's phone chimed - displaying Manik's name and picture on the screen. Excusing himself for everything had to be kept secret from her till the million dollar moment; Mr. Malhotra received the call and was elated to learn that things were done and ready. Hanging up; he came back to the dining table and said, stopping her from going into the kitchen and taking the empty plate from her Give this to me! You go and get ready jaldi se! Humein kahin jana hai. Needless to say; she was perplexed and asked Achanak se? Kahan Dad? Aur Manik? He smiled and answered exuberantly Its a surprise Princess!
