It's 7 a.m already! As far as I remember, I had put the alarm to ring at 5 a.m then how?

Damn..!! Nandini, you're so dead today!

"Nandu...." I heard mamma's voice.

Mamma... I mean, mother-in-law. Usually mother-in-laws stays strict towards their daughter-in-law but my mamma isn't like the others.

She's a very caring person and I consider her as my own mother! She's my only family.

Koyal Kapoor.
She's a very loving person. She loves Nandini very much. For her, Nandini is everything and for Nandini, she's her only family!

"Arre Nandu! Where are you beta, come have your breakfast." Koyal said in a sweet tone

"No mamma, I'm already late. You know na, how much important this job is, for us! Wish me luck! And don't forget your fever has not gone yet so please take rest. Okay?" Nandini spoke

"Yes I will! Best of luck Nandu and please eat something later okay? You're becoming so weak!" Koyal said while kissing Nandini's forehead.

"Mamma, don't worry. I'll be fine. Okay now bye." Nandini hug her instantly before leaving

"Where is she?" Here, He was asking for Nandini.

"Umm.. I guess she must have stuck in traffic. You know, Mumbai traffic.." Barun gave a reason just so the boss anger can calm down

"I want her here before 8 a.m!" His voice was stern though.

Nandini was driving very fast, thinking about what if she would be late?

No. She couldn't let this happen. She had to reach there before 8 a.m.

Nandini's pov

Hope my day goes well!

But I remember, that guy who has taken my interview yesterday. He was very kind.

I wonder what is the meaning of this (M) ??

Huff... Nandini you should think of your boss right now.

Nandini reached. She parked her car and rushed inside the office when suddenly she bumped into someone.

"Hey..!" It was Barun

"Hi sir. I mean goodmorning sir! I'm sorry for being late sir. I was..'' Nandini said as she was out of breath.

"Ok relax. First of all, take a breath! Don't panic and please don't call me sir. Barun is a nice name yeah, you can call me Barun. It's your first day and you're late! but it's okay, it happened with me too. And about your boss, well - he's a little upset right now."

"What..? Oh no. What will I do now? He'll not throw me out of the job na?" Nandini said worriedly. She was afraid of losing the job.

"No Nandini. Chill.. he won't. Now go in. He's waiting. You're his personal assistant afterall!" Barun said smilingly.

Nandini's pov

I didn't waste more time in talking, I rush inside his cabin.

I could see him standing - his back facing me. I slowly marched closer to him, looking downwards.

He turned towards me but I was still looking downwards. I could see his foot steps approaching me! My heart started beating fast, real fast!!

"You're 5 minutes late!"

I heard him saying in a very serious tone.

I gulped as I lifted up my face to give an explanation but what I see made me freeze

It was him.

"Manik.!" Nandini said in a surprising tone as soon as Manik came in front of her.

"Oh hello? What, Manik? You're given a job here right?" He crossed his arms around his chest, looking at her face! After so long! Only he knew how he was controlling his emotions

"Manik..! I'm - I'm so happy to see yo-you. I - I.." Nandini didn't know how to react! A lone tear escaped her eyes.

"If I'm not mistaken, you have been signed for a job here? Right?" Manik asked her once again, maintaining his serious tone

"Ye-yes..! I've given the interview and I'm already selected for the job." She was still staring at him, with happy tears. She so wanted to tell him how much she missed him!

"Hmmm. So, you know how should a Personal Assistant, call her boss. Right?" He was behaving like a stranger to Nandini

"Yes! I'll call him 'Sir' only! But Manik.."

"Ok fine. That is what I wanted to hear." Manik cut her in between, while she frowned in confusion

"What Manik?"

"It's 'SIR' ! You should call me Sir" Manik spoke in a stern voice

"Sir?" She was bewildered

"Yeah. I'm your boss here. The Manik Malhotra. Welcome to MALHOTRA INDUSTRIES. Miss Murthy or should I say Mrs Kapoor?" Manik said with a smirk. Nandini stumbled back, hearing the his words

"(M) Industries is yours?" Nandini asked. She was still not believing that. Manik was the boss!

He was the Owner!

"Any doubt Mrs Kapoor?" Manik asked, the smirk never leaving his face. "Ok, you're here to work right? I'm sure Barun must have explained to you about the work. So, come on, get back to your work and we have a meeting with Mr Patel in the evening so I hope you won't mind staying till 9.30 p.m."

Nandini's pov

I was still not believing. No, not about that he was the boss here but, he was totally behaving like a stranger.

Yeah, ofcourse, now he's a rich man so, this kind of attitude is obvious. My subconscious knocked in my head

And what did he say, 9:30 p.m?

No ways, I can't.

"So you're staying."

"But.."

"But what?" He crossed his arms around his chest, waiting for her to speak

"Aiyappa. Why is he behaving so weird? Monster!" Nandini whispered this line to herself.

"Excuse me?" Manik frowned

"Woh Mani--I mean, SIR. I can't stay till 9.30 p.m. Office hour finishes at 8.30 na? So I'll leave at 8.30 p.m only. Can't you start the meeting a little bit early? It will be easy then."

"Why? Your husband is waiting for you? Mrs Kapoor?" Manik asked in a disgusting manner.

Nandini's pov

Seriously?

What does he mean by that?

Jerk. I so wanna punch him hard in his face. But no, Nandini, he's your boss!

You need this job so please control. My subconscious said

Damn, why God? Why always me?

"Mrs Kapoor? Where are you lost? You have to stay till the meeting end."

"No, actually my mamma means my mother-in-law is sick so, I have to leave. She's alone at home." Nandini said sternly

"Listen! I'm not asking you okay? I'm ordering you! You have to stay!" Manik raised his voice which made Nandini startled

Manik's pov

What does she mean that she can't stay? Her mother-in-law is sick?

Bullsh!t!

Where is her husband haan? He can take care of his mother!

No!! I will not let her go! Now I'll make sure that she stays here till the meeting ends. She has to stay..!

I will give her back the pain which she'd gave me. She has to suffer, more than I had.
