As I reached California it was a complete new atmosphere. Even though I used to come here for paying a visits to my branch office, I never noticed the world here. It was more relaxing than the streets of New York. After settling in one of the hotels, I decided to have a walk around the neighborhood.

While walking I bumped into a man. A man who changed my life, especially yours completely.

FLASHBACK

Man: Aren't you Mrs. Nandini Malhotra?

Nandini: Not anymore, I am Ms. Murthy. I have divorced my husband.

Man: Oh. I don't know if you recognize me. We have met at a lot of business parties. I am MR. Tej Singh Oberoi.

Nandini: Oh yes I do remember you.

Tej: So what brings you here?

Nandini: I have recently shifted here.

Tej: Oh...... By the way would you mind coming and seeing my son.

Nandini: For what?

Tej: Well, he had lost his mother few years back in a car accident and since then he finds his mother in you. Since a long time he had a wish to meet you and as a father I want to fulfill it. This might be the last thing I can fulfill him as I am not in good state.

Nandini: But....

Tej: Please Ma'am, only once and then you can leave.

Nandini: I agreed to whatever he said and went to see him. That was the first time I was seeing your brother and the best time seeing him too. When I first met Shivaay, he was drained of happiness. The second I saw him in that state, I couldn't bear to look at him like that so I hugged him.

He started crying on my shoulder while I hugged him tight. He had some much pain. Pain of losing his mother and now losing his father soon. From that day I decided that I will bring you here and make you play with him so that his pain reduces and your emptiness of not having a brother vanishes.

But I didn't know that this meeting of the two of you would have completed everything. The bond which the two of you were sharing was just like how you and Manan were sharing. I thought that I would be able to fill the gap of your brother with Shivaay so did Tej think.

Tej was a good man. Instead of asking me to marry him he rather offered me to be Shivaay's legal custodian after his death. Also he made the entire company under my name too. He trusted me a lot and I couldn't cheat him. Soon after his death I shifted to the Oberoi mansion. And since then your brother is with us.

I know I am a really bad mother by not telling you who your father and brother was. I also told that Tej was your father. I am really sorry. It's your decision now if you want to be with us or not. I will not stop you. If you want to spend the rest of your life with Manik and Manan then you are free to do the same. Your happiness is more important to us.

With this Nandini started crying badly. Maya who couldn't bear this sat in front of her on the floor and held her hands.

Maya: no mom, you are not a bad mother rather you are a really good one. You thought of my happiness when you brought Shivaay bhaiya in my life. You filled the emptiness of a brother with the best man. I know that whatever you do would be only for my happiness then why should I leave you for a person who I don't know. I don't want to do the same mistake which Manan bhai did. I trust you and even till my last breathe I wouldn't leave you ma. That is not why Maya is your daughter. I love you and will always love you. You are the best mother in the world.

With this Maya hugged Nandini really tight. Soon Maya walked up to Shivaay and held his hand.

Maya: So what if you are not my blood brother? You cared about me more than a brother and that is more important to me. I wouldn't leave this brother of mine for another brother.

Shivaay: And I wouldn't stop loving the two of you forever.

All this conversation was heard by Anika who was in tears by now. Even though Shivaay was khadoos, he was the most caring brother and son in the entire world. She soon knocked the door to alert the two of them. Nandini gestured Anika to come in.

Anika: Aree, aap sabh ne ready nahi hua. Guest abh aarahe honge. Get ready.

Shivaay (angrily): You will decide if we should change or not.

Maya: Bhia, stop yelling at Ani di for now reason. She said something that would benefit us. You can go and change Ani di until then the three of us will be ready.

Anika smiled at Maya, who smiled back at her, and left.

Shivaay: Ani di? Are you mad?

Maya: No I am not and what is so wrong in calling Anika di and Ani di?

Shivaay: She is our event organizer, not someone you need to respect.

Maya: Bhai, she is elder to me and almost of your age. If I call you bhai then I have to call her di or else....

Shivaay: Or else?

Maya: Or else I can call her my Bhabhi.

Shivaay: What?

Maya: Well you will soon marry her right?

Shivaay angrily left the room leaving Nandini and Maya laughing to their hearts content.

Soon people started pouring in and the party soon started. As Maya walked past the crowd she bumped into a man who she wasn't much fond off. It was her new employee in the office, Mr. Arjun Sharma.

Arjun: Was you father a terrorist?

Maya: No...??

Arjun: Cause you look bomb.

With this he left while blinking at her. Maya angrily went to the front of the stage and waited for the event to start.
