As Maya walked through the deserted paths of California, she wasn't pleased at all. She wished from the bottom of her heart that Manan wouldn't have said any of what he had said. If he hadn't said anything like that, she might have safely reached her home.

And she was true with whatever she had said as soon enough there were a few bikes behind her and in no time they had circled around her. They bikes soon stopped moving around and two of them slowly moved towards her. One of them were going to touch her out got stopped by our hero, Manan Malhotra. He held his hand so tight with anger.

Manan: A finger on her and I rip you into pieces.

Another man: Oh..... Her boyfriend I see. Then I will surely have fun with her.

With this the man went past Manan to get hold of Maya. Manan kicked the man's knee he was holding and went to the other. He punched this right on his nose to which he fell with a bleeding nose.

Manan: Main uski boyfriend nahi hoon magar mujhe farak padta hai jab koi iske aaspaas aaye..

Another man came from behind with a knife and slashed it on Manan's back. Manan fell down making Maya to scream in horror. She tried to move toward him but one of them held her from moving. But it didn't take much time for Manan to get up and push the man away. The fight had turned dirty but soon all the men ran away with an angry Manan looking at Maya.

Manan: Get in the car.

Maya: No I won't.

Manan (angrily): I said get in the car..... Bloody hell listen to me.

Maya: No... you listen to me. Sit on the bonnet of your car or else I will continue walking back home.

Manan: You....

Maya: I said sit down.

After a big grunt, Manan walked past Maya and sat on the bonnet of his car. Maya soon went and opened the door of the front passenger's seat and took out the first aid kit. Manan was bleeding from his back, chin, and hands and head. She opened the first aid kit and poured some solution into the cotton bud. She then applied it on his hand and he made a small sound.

Maya: I really don't get you men. You fight so nicely, get a lot of bruises that are really major and then you make a hissing sound when we women touch the wound or put something over it. That much time you were rock or what.

Manan (looking at Maya): I can even be a monster if time requires it.

She soon put plaster behind his back and on all other wounds. Manan soon stood up and started moving towards the driver's seat but got stopped by Maya's hand.

Maya: I'll drive and don't even think about defending. You must look at yourself before you say anything else to me.

With this Maya went and sat in the driver's seat and with a sigh, Manan moved towards the passenger's seat. May set the GPS to Manan's house and soon started driving. Manan soon dozed off on the seat with his head leaning towards the head rest.

Manan had slowly dipped into his past. Soon some flashes of his childhood re appeared in front of him. It was nothing new for him yet everything looked so real.

He saw his mom entering the house with a blank expression. He had gone up to her to ask her what had happened. Her hair which used to be neatly tied was now fully tangled. Her lip stick was slightly smudged.

Manan: Mama, what happened to you?

Nandini (nervously): Nothing beta, everything is perfectly fine.

Manan: I didn't even ask you that. Why do you smell like an odd men's perfume?

Nandini: Oh it was just the party. You know people usually hug and all. That's it.

Manan was not satisfied and soon Mani had joined the two of them and even he took up the same topic. The seen soon shifts for a week and Manan was sitting on his bed utterly shocked watching a video. He couldn't believe that his mother would do something like this even when she had a husband and two children.

And then he witness Manik screaming at Nandini for the same thing and calling her a shameless creature. He threw the ring he was wearing and pushed her out of the house.

Manan soon revived from the dreams and clutched Maya left hand that was on the steering which got her to stop the car. Maya saw Manan sweating badly.

Maya (getting him back to senses): Are you okay Manan? Why are you sweating?

Manan (looking at Maya): You were right about mothers. I don't have one but at least I don't have a mother like her. Your mom might be really nice but mine was just a lady with a fake mask.

Maya: What is wrong with you?

Manan: Nothing is wrong. Everything is right I guess.

Maya: You know what. I really don't get you but I know something is disturbing you really bad. When our mind is all set, I hope you share that to me.

With this Maya started the car and reached Manan place in the next 15 minutes. Manan soon got down with Maya following him. On reaching the gate Manan turned around to Maya.

Manan: You are a really good person. It is very rare I say this but it's true. And I hope that your family stay intact forever.

Maya (shocked but ignoring it): I will be taking your car back home. I will come tomorrow first in the morning to pick you up and I hope you are fine with it.

With this Maya turned around and walked back to the car. With a second glance she sat in it and drove back home. Manan looked at the moving car until it faded away in the darkness. It was a new beginning in their life and it was worth watching.
