———————————————After Manik's 'decision' the entire living room went silent.Everyone kept looking at them with wide eyes.Nobody in their wildest thoughts had thought he would think about something like this.

They lied for getting married but now when the marriage was happening they wanted to break it off?Soo many efforts for absolutely nothing?

"Yeh kya bol raha hai Manik.Tera dimaag kharab ho gaya hai kya?"Neyonika shouted glaring at her son coming out of her shocked state."Nandini ke baare mein socha tune?Karna kya chahta hai tu?"She stood up having had enough. "Raj dekho yeh kya bol raha hai?"She turned to her husband but Raj stopped his wife making her sit down.

"Calm down."He softly said to her and she slapped her forehead giving him a look.

Nalini stood up silently and stood in front of Manik and Nandini. "Tum dono ko nahi karni hai na shaadi mat karo."She stated crossing her hands around her chest and Manik and Nandini looked down.

"Nalini what are you saying?"Neyonika said and Nandini turned around and blinked her eyes in assurance to which Neyonika nodded.She was a lawyer afterall she very well knew how to tackle people.

"Reh paoge ek dusre ke bagair?"She asked eyeing their intertwined hands.Manik and Nandini followed her gaze and it fell on their hands and then looked at each other. "Ghar ghar nahi khel rahe ho tum dono.Jab marzi chahe ha bol diya jab marzi chahe na bol diya."She said knocking sense into both of them.The rest were silent spectators not wanting to interfere in the mother and children conversation. "I am saying something I don't expect you guys to keep quiet."She bellowed but her face was blank.No emotions visible.

"So-sorry mom."Nandini muttered stuttering.She knew her mothers anger where do you think she got her anger from and she knew better than to take any panga with her now.

"Sorry?Sorry bol rahi ho tum?"She mocked her and Nandini gulped looking at her mother.She was the human form of Goddess Kali for Nandini.

"Manik what do you have to say?"Neyonika asked eyeing her son walking to stand beside Nalini.

"Sorry?"He said more like questioned looking at his mother scared.

"Shaadi karne ke liye jhooth bola tha tumne.Ab jab shaadi karwa rahe hai why are you guys backing out?"Neyonika questioned and Nandini looked at Neyonika like she never knew her.She looked dangerous.

"We want your blessings mom.Aap sabke.Aise shaadi nahi kar sakte knowing ki aap sab humse naaraz ho."Nandini replied trying to sound confident.

"But tumlogo ko toh farak nahi padta na whether we guys are hurt or not.Warna you wouldn't have lied in the first place."Nalini smiled sarcastically at her daughter who had tears brimming her eyes.

"Neyonika Nalini baccho bass abhi.Stop it."Daadu shook his head telling them to stop it.

"Papa they are."She turned to daadu but swiftly turned around to face Manik and Nandini. "Urghhh."Neyonika frustrated slapped Manik in anger and then hugged him the very next second.

Nandini gasped palming her mouth,her eyes wide and others looked shocked at Neyonika as for Manik he was trying to understand what just happened.Neyonika had NEVER raised hand on both her sons.This was a first.

"M-mom."Manik started putting his hand on the cheek cause it stung.Man his mother could hit!

"Kya mom ha? Bilkul pagal ho tum dono."She shook her head sighing loudly."Raj please samjhao ise mere bass ki nahi hai."She went back and sat on her place glaring at Manik and Nandini.

"Kaka do glass pani lao please."Raj shouted. "Aur tum dono....baitho."He ordered and they sat immediately.

Once the water was served they looked at him waiting for him to speak. "Paani peene ke liye diya hai."Rajan commented and they nodded slowly drinking water from it.

Raj looked at Rajan and then at his dad who nodded.He cleared his throat grabbing everyone's attention mostly Manik and Nandini's who looked at him like he was going to give a final verdict. "I knew you were dating."He stated smirking

The glass from Manik's hand fell on the floor breaking into thousands of pieces.As for Nandini her reaction was no different but she just clapped her hand over her mouth.Manik looked at his mom when his dad's voice made Manik look at him. "Oyee puttar use kya dekh raha hai usne nahi bataya mujhe pehle se pata tha."Raj said casually.

Manik and Nandini blinked their eyes trying to digest the information.They couldn't believe what they were hearing.They swore they would faint the next given second. "Raj don't test them more bata de sab kuch."Daadu chuckled looking at their reaction and Raj nodded.

"Manik baap hoon tera.Tujhe kya laga tu tere papa ko ghumaega aur unhe pata bhi nahi chalega.Asli game toh meine kheli hai."He laughed rubbing his hands evilly.

"Dad."Manik started but snapped his mouth shut.What could he possibly ask?He was soo confused.He looked at Nandini who had a similar expression plastered on her face.

"Ready to hear?"Raj said and they both nodded in unison.

"Manik I knew from the very beginning that you were dating someone lekin it was only a suspicion mujhe pakka pata nahi tha lekin tujhe yaad hai tera accident hua tha?"Raj asked and Manik nodded. "Tab hospital mein Nandini aayi thi and she was a mess.I knew she wasn't a friend kyuki dekh sakta tha mein how broken she was.Inn gadho se bhi sabse bura haal uska tha."He pointed towards Fab5 who made a bad face. "They thought they had done a good job in taking her away before someone could see her but boy they were wrong."Manik shook his head at his friends but chuckled lightly.

"Nandini tumne toh bohot acchese chupaya but you remember the night you sneaked Manik in?"Rajan started and Nandini widened her eyes but still nodded hesitantly.Yeh kya ho raha hai humare saath bhagwaan?Konse janam ka badla le rahe ho aap? "Sorry but Nalini ne sunn liya tha tujhe when you were running to open the door."Rajan sadly said and Nandini glared at Manik who pouted.Na yeh woh ginti karta na unhe pata chalta.Stupid!

"Hume laga you would come and tell us but you didn't do it.Tumne toh kuch alag hi socha.Arranged Marriage?Wow!!"Raj looked at his son and gave him a 'really' look. "Toh humne socha why not play along.After all two can play the same game.Toh humne sabko include kiya."Raj exploded the bomb and Manik and Nandini glared at their friends.Traitors!

"Ohh hello aise looks mat do.It was Raj uncle...koi gadha hi unke against jata."Cabir raised his hand in surrender and Raj chuckled.

"And you guys were wrong."Alya pointed out and they nodded looking down.

"Akal bhi toh dalni thi tum logo mein jo tum dono bhi bech aaye the bazaar mein."Mukti smiled sarcastically and the rest nodded in agreement.

"Mom dad then you could have stopped us from lying right?Meine aapko bataya tha?"Nandini asked looking at her parents.

"Exactly daadu aap bhi.But aapne toh mujhe badhawa diya tha."Manik pointed out remembering.

"Manik hume laga you guys would try different ways to tell Raj but you came up with that stupid idea."Daadu said. "Isiliye meine Neyonika ko rokk liya and then we came up with this plan."He said telling them.

"Aayi baat tum logo ko kyu nahi rokne ki."Rajan started. "Everytime we are not going to be there behind you guys."He made them understand in a soft voice.

"Dad yeh kya bol rahe ho?"Nandini tried to stop him.

"He is right Nandini.We wanted you guys to know ki har baar hum nahi honge to overlook your mistakes."Raj said smiling softly and Manik and Nandini realised what their parents did.

"Abhi tum log bade ho gaye ho.Jo bhi decision loge uske consequences whether good or bad tumlogo ko face karne honge.We are parents toh hum nazarandaaz karenge tumlogo ki galtiyon ko but the world won't do that."Neyonika explained.

"Jab roka hua tab we were going to stop you guys right there lekin papa ne hume roka and he made us understand."Nalini said this time. "Agar galtiyan nahi karoge toh kabhi samajh nahi paoge."She said.

"We just wanted to knock sense into you guys aaj jhooth bola kal kuch aur karoge."Raj said. "Marriage is no joke.Responsibilities hongi,there will be obstacles you cannot take decisions like this."Manik and Nandini nodded listening to them carefully. "You both have made us proud always.Aage bhi karna but we are humans after all mistakes sab se hoti hai but always remember jo bhi consequences honge face them...together.Bhaagna nahi."He said.

"That means jo kal hua at the party that was all planned?"Manik asked and everyone nodded.

"Hume pata chala that you guys were going to tell us everything which made us happy lekin how could we let that happen that is the reason why woh karna pada."Nalini filled them in and they nodded.

"Lekin hum aapko batane wale the yeh kisiko bhi pata nahi tha."Nandini remembered and Manik nodded realising.

"Fortunately for us Niru happened to be there and he heard you guys."Neyonika smiled.Manik and Nandini looked at Niranjan in shock. "Bhagwaan bhi yahi chahte the."She chuckled.

"We never wanted to hurt you guys lekin woh jaruri tha.Jitna hum tumhe pamper karte hai utna he we want to scold you and make you realise your mistakes.We want you to be better people.Hum nahi chahte ki koi humare baccho pe ungli uthaye.This is a teaching for you guys always remember whatever you do uske consequences honge.Be wise always."Raj explained and both nodded.

Manik and Nandini smiled finally some peace visible on their faces.Nandini got up and hugged her parents while Manik ran to his both mumbling innumerable sorries to them.

"Koi baat nahi baccho.Bass dono bhi khush raho and always be together."Nalini said and everyone nodded.

Everyone settled down on their respective places after the bharat milap when Rajan winked at Raj but no one noticed. "Ab shaadi ka kya kare?"Rajan asked sadly his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Kya kya kare.Manik and Nandini both want to break it na.Toh shaadi nahi hogi."Raj casually said playing along.

"Nooooooo."Manik shouted startling all of them. "I mean I want to marry."He said much softer this time. "Sab tayariyan ho gayi hai na.Why waste efforts."He sheepishly stated trying to cover up looking at their smirking faces.

"Tujhe toh karni hai lekin Nandini ko dekh ke toh yeh nahi lagta,nahi?"Rajan said smirking at his daughter.Nandini just pleaded through her eyes trying to cover her red cheeks making him chuckle.

"Shaadi toh jarur hogi aur joro shoro se hogi.Sabko pata chale ki Malhotras ke ghar shaadi hai bhai."Raj said and everyone hooted in excitement.

Manik and Nandini looked at each other and smiled.They were getting married!

Sure they made mistakes but they are humans after all and it is only natural that we do.But it is important to learn from those mistakes and never repeat them again.
