Weddings are a crazy affair...One week passed away in a jiffy...Office...Wedding shopping...I don't know if living in NCR was a boon or bane...Walking through the streets of Lajpat Nagar, Shahpur Jatt, Rajouri and not forget the oldest glory Chandni Chowk ; was not doubt enthralling but extremely tiring too..By Friday evening, I was dead tired...But my worry was not my aching body but something else...You want to know what..well that's my family...Yes my darling family...!!...sometimes I think I was happy with occasional contact with them...Its just been a week and they have started taking me for granted...Wondering how !! ..Well..!!...I have been trying to call them from past 45 min and their phones are switched off... I mean like seriously how is it possible that everyone's Amms', chacha's, chachi's, Rishabh's and even Abhi's phones are not reachable..Calm Down Nandini..I told myself.. they might be busy...Nothing to be worried about..Relax

Meanwhile, in Mumbai Fab5 along with Navya were going bonkers discussing with the wedding planners, decorators, caterers etc and etc...

Uff....!!!!.....Weddings in many ways is similar to a deal...I mean just like in a deal, you wherein need to plan efficiently..For a wedding too, you have analyse and weigh all the ideas before finalizing one..there are different facets that you need to take care of...shopping...food...music and not to forget unlimited ceremonies...Goddd...!!...who has decided all these ceremonies.....

What is Marriage ..in simple terms union of two souls...but In case you believe that love is enough for uniting two souls, you are highly mistaken...when two people are madly in love with each other, they decide to get into holy matrimony...that's easy right...!!..Hell NO....!!!....There is a very thin line between deciding to get married and actually getting married...and it is in this thin line that all hell breaks loose...Why...??...Well to begin with...you need to please God so that the almighty blesses the newly weds...Fair enough...but the problem is that the almighty is not satisfied with just one prayer session..he needs to be pleased over and over again with various Pujas...Once the almighty is sorted, the relationship needs to sealed....the to be weds seal it with a ring...after that the groom's family seals the relationship with the bride some "chunar rasam" and the bride's family seals the relationship with the groom with some "Sagai"thing...by now God, bride, groom and family is sorted...after all praying and sealing comes enjoyment and here comes the friends....and since just one function is not enough to satisfy them ,there is an array of events like Sangeet, Cocktail, bachelorette and what not to ensure that they don't feel left out...Don't even think we are done here....we forgot about the bride and the groom...Yes I know they had sealed the relationship but they also need individual attention and that's where the rasams like Haldi and Mehendi take control...after all of it finally on the wedding day after taking seven rounds around the holy fire with the priest enchanting some mantras in the background, the two are finally declared Man and Wife with the marriage being sealed with a nuptial chain and vermilion....Wait..!! you think its done right...Marriage has finally HAPPENED...No.!!!...You are mistaken again..Yes you've pleased everyone like Gods, family, friends and the newly weds but what about our law...So My dear as per the law you need to register your marriage in court and Mind you getting a registration in court is not that easy...!!!.. Huff...so how does your thought questioning me on making it a deal feeling now..???...I made it a big deal because for GODS SAKE ITS NOT JUST A WEDDING IT IS A BIGGER DEAL...!!!

My thoughts were broken by my sister who was very happy seeing me taking part in the festivities...Not just her but everyone else too..!!..I mean sometimes I don't understand their excitement..I mean they want me to take a step forward...in their words but when I actually take a step forward they pass me amused looks...they want me act normal but trust me they themselves turn abnormal when I give in to their demands...sometimes I wonder what should I do in order stop them from acting weird..Shrugging away the thought I moved to her direction and tapped on shoulder..

Me – Yes Ma'am...what is it now...you want to go out and shop..but Mukti the problem is that since the shops in Mumbai are still in the process of replenishing the stock as you have stocked them out with your this week's shopping spree, I am afraid you will have too wait..!!

Mukti – Manik.....!!!... You don't need to worry about that, Anyways we haven't plundered all the shops yet, there are few left...So now will you please stop obsessing over my shopping and concentrate on your friend-cum-my-to-be-husband...his phone is switched off from past 2 hours and I am hell worried...!!

Me – 2 hours and you are telling me know..wait I'll try calling in office and find out

I took out my phone and dialed Abhi's assistant's number

Me – Hey Varun...Do you know where Abhi is, his phone is switched off...is he Alright..?

Varun- Yes sir , he is fine...his phone might be switched off since he is in on a plane to Delhi with his family to meet his sister...If you want I can share his flight details with you...!!

Abhi has gone to meet Nandini...no matter how hard I try to detach myself , I still fail in not letting her thoughts cross my mind...I was in my trance when Varun spoke

Varun – Sir should I share the details...is everything okay..??

Me – (coming out of my trance) Yes everything is fine..thanks for the info Varun..Goodbye..!!

Mukti – Manik...what did Varun say..Abhi's fine right..!!

Me – Of course he is...He has gone to Delhi to meet his sister...He is in flight and that's why his phone is switched off

Mukti – Sister...All of the sudden..He didn't tell me too...I hope she is fine...the entire family has gone..I hope everything is okay (Shit this never crossed my mind...why a Sudden trip..I hope Nandini is Okay...Abhi you better call fast...Just then Mukti's phone started ringing and as soon as I saw the caller Id, I hurriedly moved my finger to press the answer button but stopped myself just before pressing it and handed to over to Mukti)

Me – I guess he has reached...you can probably ask him all that yourself..

Mukti – (as soon as she answered the call, she bombarded Abhi with numerous questions)...What is it Abhi..??...A sudden trip..!!...Is your sister fine..??...everything is fine right...??..Nothing to be worries about right...??...has your sister changed her mind regarding the wedding...??...Why are you silent..??...speak up Dammit...!!

He will speak sweetheart , I thought, only if you let him..these girls they are so full of questions but they don't give us the time to answer..anyways Mukti took a pause and I assume Abhi took it as an opportunity to answer her questions because all Mukti could utter after that were a few "Hmms'' and "Okays" before she ended her call with "Take care..byee"..As soon as she ended the call, she found herself surrounded with anxious faces including me...She must have realized that we too wanted the answers..so she spoke

Mukti – Abhi and his family wanted to surprise his sister on the weekend...hence they made a sudden plan..he was so busy arranging last minute tickets and everything so he couldn't inform

Me – Is his sister okay..??

Mukti – Yes..i guess she is okay..!!

"Guess she is okay"..Well "GUESS" is not "OKAY"..God what should I do now..??

.........Nandini's POV........

"The airtel number you are trying to reach is either switched off or out of coverage area"....."The mobile network you are trying to reach is not reachable"...this was all that I was hearing from past two hours...I was getting worried with every passing minute...suddenly during one of my hundred calls Abhi's number was busy...I took a sigh of relief but that was short lived...A few minutes later the number again went out of reach...Rishabh's phone was ringing but my little brother was not interested in picking up my call...On top of it there was no other way I could contact any family except their cell numbers...I had landline numbers for Amms and chacha's place but I had already tried them an hour ago and got to know they were not in the town, let alone in the house...That's it...I was feeling helpless...I cursed myself for not saving Abhi's office contact for an emergency like this..I was panicking with every passing minute just when I realized... MUKTI..!! Mukti might have the cure to my worries...should I message her...but then what will I tell her...I need my your fiancé's contact detail since I am unable to reach him...Your fiancé who by the way is my brother-a fact that you are unaware of...GOSH..!! why is it so complicated...??...!! But screw the complications for now I shall deal with them later..let me just text Mukti and hope that at least her phone is within the coverage area and switched on...I was so scared that I couldn't even type properly and just then my door bell rang...I had no idea why I literally rushed to open the door...Why I opened the door without checking from the peek hole (something that I never do)... But I had all the my answers as soon as I opened the door...Tears brimmed in my eyes watching my entire family right in front of my door...I hugged Amms and cried my eyes out...Just then Rishabh spoke

Rishabh – Di can we please come inside...Please you can continue with your emotional outpour inside as well...

I broke the hug and let them in gently slapped over his shoulder ...

.............Abhi's POV..........

As soon as Nandu opened the door, she hugged Amms and started crying...Mom Dad too got emotional and kept their hands on her back and head respectively...They broke the hug on Rishabh's interruption and we walked in...As soon as Nandu closed the door...she turned around and started beating me..trust me it was an assault..she was using all her power to knock me down..

Nandini – You Idiot..!!.. why is your phone switched off...?? And everyone else's too...

Abhi – Because we were on a Plane...!!...(she aimed a blow on my shoulder)..Ouch Nandu..(I screamed)

Nandini - Who keeps his phone off for like 3 hrs...what the hell is wrong with you..??...

Abhi – Because it was almost a two hours flight including boarding and stuff and then it took an hour after landing to reach your place....Ahh...!! will you stop beating me

Nandini - Why didn't you guys inform me that you were coming here...??

Abhi – Because it was meant to be a surprise..!!

Nandini – Surprise...like seriously Abhi...We are not in Kinder garden..Do you have any idea how worried I was...I couldn't reach any one of you...(She started crying)...I got so scared..

This time Mom spoke

Mom – Nandu mera bachcha....pareshaan nahi hote bacha...hum sab theek hain na...chal ab rona band kar...!!(Nandu My child....dont get worried dear.. see we all are fine..now stop crying)

Nandini – But Chachi.. (Dad cut her off in the middle)

Dad – I think Nandu didn't like our surprise...Maine toh socha tha ki humko dekhkar apni badi si smile degi but yahan toh mote mote aansu hain...!! (I thought we'll get to see her smile but all we are getting are these fat tears)

Nandini – (wiping off her tears and smiling) No Chacha I am very happy...trust me...just got a little scared...you guys relax...I'll arrange for food..!!

I headed towards Nandini's room to get fresh...After refreshing themselves, Mom helped Nandini in kitchen, Amms and Dad discussed some financials, Rishabh was busy on his phone and I decided to take a Nap...Just then I stumbled across a diary...just by the looks of it I knew it was Nandini's.."So my dear sister let's get to know you a little more", I said in my mind and started reading it....I was amazed not actually spellbound with my sister's poetic abilities...this side of my sister was completely unknown to me...My sleep flew away with every page I turned..finally I reached to the last verse...Reading it something struck my mind and I picked up my phone and sent a message...I closed the diary and heard mom calling everyone for dinner...I kept the diary in the drawer before heading out and just then I received a call for Manik

Me – Hey...How are you..??

Manik – I am fine...you say...everything okay...sudden trip to delhi..??

Me – Oh yaa..i thought of surprising my sister...trust me she was so happy....We anyways had to come to Delhi tomorrow so I just preponed it by a day.. Listen I hope Varun has mailed you guys the flight schedule and everything.. You have to be here tomorrow...

Manik – Oh yes...the Meet 'N' Greet thing..Dont worry we are ready...see you soon..!!

Abhi – Cool brother..listen Mom's calling for dinner..Talk to you later

Manik – Ya cool..!! .. Acha Listen that verse you just messaged me...

Abhi – Oh that..!!my sister wrote it and I thought it would be a good continuation to your song..!!

Manik – Yup..it fits in perfectly..thanks Man..!!

Abhi – Chal...Got to go..byee. see you soon..!!

With this I disconnected the call and rushed out..dinner was arranged..I wouldn't lie we all had a gala time together....after lots of chit chatting, wedding discussion and my leg pulling the elders went to the bed and we settled ourselves in the hall...!!

I was relaxing myself in the balcony...sitting on the hammock in the balcony when Abhi came in with two mugs of coffee...after handing me over a mug he settled on the couch with his mug...and started reading something from his phone

Abhi - Mere hisse aayi teri parchaiyan,

Me – You know reading someone's diary is a bad habit

Abhi – well if you don't want people to read your diary...you shouldn't keep it in open either..hide it properly..Idiot..so where was I ..Yaa

Abhi – you know what Manik wanted this song to have two verses but nothing could fit...we tried...but these lines not only they fit in perfectly but they complete the song as well...even Manik said so...!!

Me – (Spitting out the coffee)...Whhatttt....!! How does Manik know..??

Abhi – Of course...I sent it...what kind of stupid question is that...anyways we loved it..God job sister...In fact I think we can release an extended version of the song with your lines being added...I'll talk to Manik about this when he comes tomorrow..!!

Me – Whattt...!! Manik is coming here tomorrow... (Shock one after the another God what the hell is happening)

Abhi – Will you stop shouting and why is it that your every sentence begins with a "WHATTT"...Stop it

Me – Blame yourself for that..you are giving me one shock after the another ...Will you please enlighten me why is Manik coming here..??

Abhi – Oh that....Not just Manik everyone is coming over..there is a Meet N Greet here in delhi..so they are here for that...!!

Me – Hmm...like that

Both of us started talking about random things...when I say random..trust me our conversations were really random...Suddenly Abhi had his EUREKA moment

Abhi – Nandu listen I was thinking if you could meet them tomorrow...I mean if you are okay with it...One day or the other this has to happen then why not tomorrow..??

I went into deep thoughts...I knew this day had to come...Abhi got me thinking...I have to meet them if not tomorrow then someday else..But so soon...Abhi is so stupid...It is not that easy...I have no idea how things have changed...there are chances that things could get ugly when we meet...but if they do, wouldn't it create a bigger ruckus if it happens close to the wedding...After giving in a lot of thought I decided to meet everyone tomorrow....In case situation go out of hand at least we will have the time to sort the mess...

Abhi – (poking me...) hey where are you lost..Listen you can meet them later too..no pressure..!!

Me – No wait..I was thinking..Umm...I will meet them tomorrow..!!

I sighed and both of us went to grab some sleep...Its gonna be a tough day tomorrow..!!

Next evening, Fab5 along with Navya landed in Delhi. After finishing off the Meet 'N' Greet, everyone except Manik headed towards the hotel since Manik had a few interviews lined up. On the way Abhi told everyone that he has a surprise which got them excited. They reached the Hotel Lobby and waited for the surprise.

Meanwhile, Nandini too reached the hotel and called Abhi. After dropping Fab4 and Navya in the lobby, he went out to escort Nandini to the Lobby but asked her to wait and enter when he calls her. Abhi went inside to meet the people who were eagerly waiting for the surprise

Mukti – Abhi where is your surprise...??

Abhi – Relax Sweetheart...Manik hasn't come yet..??

Mukti – No He hasn't...please don't tell me you gonna wait for him to disclose the surprise...Please I can't wait..please show us the surprise na

Cabir – Or you could spill the beans...just a few..!!

Abhi – Relax Guys...I got you guys here to meet my sister...!!

Mukti – What your sister is here...where is she...??

Abhi – (Calls out...) Babydoll...please come in (Nandani enters)..Guys meet my sister Nandini Murthy..

Everyone stood startled..Nandini looked up to meet everyone's eyes which were filled with questions, surprise and numerous untold emotions...Just then she heard a voice and turned

Voice – Sorry guys I hope I am not late for the...

The voiceholder stood numb at his place...he was Manik...he was at loss of words seeing Nandini right infront of him...his gaze meeting hers left him speechless...nonetheless the one only word he could utter was "SURPRISE"...!!
