The gang was having lunch at Nag Tiba Top. They had come here for a trek as Abhi was too excited for it but due to lack of time they decided to go to Naga Tiba by jeep and trekked only for 2 hours from Naga Tiba to the top. The trip was a welcome break for all them and the gang was relishing the moments in the lap of Himalays. The vast horizons of the beautiful mountains had taken away all their worries and troubles, since everything got lost somewhere in the echo, in the air, in the snow that covered the high mountain peaks. However the strings between Abhi and Mukti were tensed to the extent the soothing air at the height couldn't release the tension instead it looked like the strings were stretching with every passing moment. Before the strings break due to tension they carried, Cabir walked up to Abhi and said

Cabir – Abhi I think you and Mukti should take a break.

Abhi – Break...now what is that...don't tell me it is a FAB5 discovered way of solving a issue..!

Cabir – It definitely is a way of solving the issue, but we, I mean FAB5 are not the ones who discovered it, infact we ourselves learnt it from Manik and Nandini.

Abhi – Manik and Nandini...I am sorry I didn't get you..!!

Just then Dhruv and Manik too joined in the conversation.

Dhruv – How about we let the one who discovered this magic trick elaborate it for you. What say Manik..??

Abhi – No before elaborating, I would like to get into the details that eventually led to this discovery, since by the name it sounds every interesting.

Manik – You got be kidding Abhi, my sister who apparently is your would be wife is grumpy since morning and instead of making it up with her, you wish to know the details..Like seriously..!!

Abhi – Calm down the over protective brother of the girl I Love..!!... Of course I need to know the details my dear would be brother in law since only then I will be able to figure out how to proceed with manofying your angry birdy sister..!!

Manik – Good try...!!..so here's the deal, we'll tell you what "let's take a break is all" about, you use it to sort your problems and I will explain you about the origin of this idea once everything is sorted between you and Mukti..!!

Abhi – Such a stubborn guy you are Manik...!! Ok fair enough go ahead..!!

Dhruv – So as you know, the ultimate solution to every problem is "Talking" but then whenever we fight the normal human tendency rather the human ego doesn't allow us to have those conversations with each other,

Cabir – And that is where "Let's take a break" comes into picture

Manik – Exactly, we take a break from our fight and talk, sometimes only for 10 sec, sometimes for hours, whatever the duration may be, taking break eventually helps in breaking the ice.

Abhi – That's it (the boys nod)...!!...I already knew all this...I was hoping to know something else but nevermind

Cabir – What do you mean you already knew..!!

Abhi – Of course.. I knew.. Do you really think that me and Mukti never fought..??...If yes, then you are highly mistaken, we fight a lot and every time "Let's take a break" is the only way out...I would have used it today as well..but then Cabir butted in and I thought I would be able to gather a little more of the information about this idea since Mukti never told me about it.. But thanks to your stubbornness, the excitement fizzled out too soon..Now if you'll excuse me I have a grumpy girlfriend to take care of..so Good bye...(Abhi moved towards Mukti but stopped in the middle and turned) Manik Now that you've got some time, make sure the narration of the story is interesting enough..!! (Abhi winked at Manik and Manik nodded in disbelief)

The girls were accompanying Mukti on the opposite side when Abhi joined them followed by the other guys.. Mukti saw the hand approaching her and looked up to see the owner only to find Abhi there. Mukti gave him a questioning look.

Abhi – Mukti, its time to take a break..!!

Mukti silently placed her palm in Abhi's and they moved to the other side for some privacy..

Nandini – "Let's take a break"....it still works..!!

Navya – O yes it does...It is so effective we use it almost always...

Cabir – ..Nandini your friend she toh is very fascinated with the idea.. sometimes I wonder she fights with me only to use this idea..!!

Everyone giggled while Navya slapped Cabir's shoulder

Cabir – Ouch Navya it hurts...you might not feel it but you are really strong...Damn (Cabir spoke while rubbing his shoulder) ...

Meanwhile Alya noticed Manik was lost somewhere. She tapped on Manik's shoulder.

Alya – Manik..Are you Okay...You seemed lost..!!

Alya's words caught everyone's attention. All except one looked at Manik with worried and questioning look on their faces. The one left out was Cabir who did focus on Manik but instead of worry his face carried smirk. Cabir Moved towards Manik and placed his had around his shoulder

Cabir – Manik are you worried about what Abhi said before leaving...!!

Manik gave him What-the-hell-is-wrong-with-you look

Nandini – What did Abhi say..Is everything fine Cabir..??

Cabir – Relax..Nandini...Actually no..(moved towards Nandini)....this could trouble you as well...Your brother wants to know the origin of this break concept...I mean the back story..!!

Nandini – (Surprised but started laughing after processing and composing the composition) Oh that...Manik all the best..!!

Manik – Nandini..At least you...!!

Nandini – Me what Manik...Abhi wants to know the story...I suggest you should tell him without missing any details...even the minutest details should be given complete attention to...Okay..!!

Manik – Et tu Nandini, then fall Manik...!! (Manik made a dramatic face and faked a dagger stabbing himself)

Meanwhile, in Abhi and Mukti little world away from all of the teasings.

Abhi – Mukti...what is it that is bothering you..I don't think the color of our outfits is the reason for our fight...!!

Mukti – I am sorry Abhi...sorry for making issue of such a petty thing...I don't I am just not thinking straight..!!..I was not talking to you since I had let myself down by being so unreasonable..!!

Abhi – Muku sweetheart...what's got into you...Why are you thinking in such a manner..??

Mukti – I don't know Abhi..over a past few days I feel our opinions are not matching..

Abhi – But isn't it the beauty of our relationship...we are two different poles..It has been this way right from the start.

Mukti – But Abhi..

Abhi – Wait I am not finished...primarily because I can see the reason of your insecurities..I can see from where they are stemming..??...

Mukti – Matlab

Abhi – Matlab ki you are scared now that I know the rift between Nandini and Manik...you are scared if I will judge you basis that despite of the fact that I have made myself clear numerous times before that your past doesn't affect me...but I guess my words don't affect you Mukti..right..!!

Mukti – Abhi you are not understanding...Manik is my family and Nandini is yours...I just want our relationship to be so strong that the nothing could form a black cloud over it...!!

Abhi – Right and so wearing same color cloths will make it strong..won't it...!!

Mukti – It is not about the color Abhi...It is about acceptance of each other views...

Abhi – And you think acceptance will come with imposing your views..if that is the case then you are highly mistaken

Mukti – I know...may be my way of putting forward was wrong..actually not may be, I know the way wrong and I am sorry for that but I guess now I have put across my insecurity may be we can work towards it together in a more rational way.

Abhi – Sure thing sweetheart...and let's try and talk it out and that too without being in a break.. I don't like fighting with you yaar (took Mukti in the side hug)....Don't worry about Manik and Nandini, they too shall sort it out..I think they need a break to break the ice..!!

Mukti – I hope they get back together..I know it won't happen that soon but at the same time I am losing the patience to wait.

Abhi – No don't..don't loose patience or hope...It might take time but it will happen..I can feel it...!!..About the dress I was hoping is it okay if I wear a fushcia pagdi to go with your lehenga..!!

Mukti – Will you really do it..??

Abhi – Of course how can I not fulfill my girl's wishes...But this is the max I can push myself too..please don't ask anything else..

Mukti – (pulling Abhi's cheeks).. O God Abhi You are so cute..I love you..!!

Abhi – I love you too...!!...Acha chalo let's go, I need to know the story behind this break from Manik

Mukti – What Manik agreed to tell you the story...(Abhi nodded) Haww he never told me all these years...!!

Abhi – Probably because you never blackmailed him...

Mukti – Haha...Comm'on lets go..I am too eager to know..!!

Abhi and Mukti joined the gang who were enjoying tea to combat the chilly wind blowing

Dhruv – So everything sorted...!!

Abhi – Yup..all good..!!

Alya – Good now we will get to know the story.. Manik comm'on speak up..!!

Manik – Ok so one day I got hold of Nandini's Phone and I saw her pictures with a guy occupying her phone memory. I was shocked and I got really angry at her but I stayed quiet.

Nandini – Oh please stayed quiet. He was shooting glares at me and I dint even know my fault...Typical Manik Malhotra..

Manik – Whatever..Ok so I was quiet trying to avoid a fight or rather a brawl...this went on for a few days..!!

Nandini – And by the way when he says quiet, his "being quiet" obviously excluded one worded answers and one liner sarcastic comments..!!

Manik – Nandini why don't you tell the story..??

Nandini – Whatever..

Manik – So one day she got late to the practice session since she was apparently getting a cake for me..!!

Nandini – What do mean by apparently..This guy was not talking to me...so I thought of bringing the cake he really loved from a bakery shop near to my college...The cake was not ready and I waited for it since there was no way I was going without it.. Nonetheless after taking so much pain I went to him and gave him the cake and instead of appreciating my efforts he blasted on me..Idiot..!!

Manik – But I did apologized for it later..I was too messed up..and then the fight got worse..this time it was absolute silence..neither of us tried to speak with each other...and probably a week later when Nandini patience broke, she barged into our jam room..!!

Mukti- Oh I remember that..Abhi she has become the replica of Manik...I mean when Manik and Nandini were standing face to face, their faces carried same emotions ...their eyes were shooting glares at each other, their cheeks were red in annoyance, their nostrils were flurrying with anger...Damn it was scary...Then Nandini grabbed Manik's hand and dragged him out of the jam room

Manik – She practically dragged me to the terrace...her hold was so tight that I just couldn't get out of it until we reached the terrace where she loosened the grip and said.. "Let's take a break, Manik"..I looked at her confusingly..

Nandini – Seeing his confusion I told him that taking a break meant that we would speak of the grudges or pain we are holding against each other and the golden rule was that no one will fight or argue whenever the other person was talking...!!

Manik – Understanding the rules of "the break", I vented out the photograph thing and she just busted out laughing..I looked at her and she told me indeed he loves the guy in the photograph a lot..My anger had no bounds but due the golden rule of not fighting in the break, I controlled myself while this girl continued to have fun at my expense and when I couldn't take anymore, I decided to walk out when she held my hand and said

Nandini – I said, Manik I love that guy just like you love Mukti..!!

Cabir – Love Mukti...O wait a minute...by any chance were the pictures you had fight over..were they of Abhi and Nandini

Nandini nodded, and everyone busted into fits of laughter and Manik face palmed himself to save from the embarrassment.

Abhi – What Manik....You were jealous of me..??..Oh Man..that is so hilarious..

Mukti – Oh God it is such a great information...I mean all these years I knew you guys formulated this idea of break in one of your fights but I had no clue that it was this fight and this was the reason for it..Manik this is so funny..!!

Alya - On second thoughts Manik, if you would have spoken with her before only, the fight could have been all together avoided..!!

Nandini - Only if his ego had allowed him to do so..(Eyed at Manik) Ego always hurts...Always..

Dhruv – (Broke the tension)....So that is how you knew Abhi was Nandini's brother while we were unaware..!!

Manik (nodded in head) – Guys let's get going..It is getting too chilly out here..!!

Everyone agreed and moved down. While coming back, the girls were finalizing the plan of where to go out for the night when Nandini felt nauseated and a few moments later she puked. He condition turned worse by the time the gang reached the hotel. They decided to cancel the reservation but on Nandini's insistence, they went out for the evening with a promise of coming back soon while Nandini stayed back in the hotel. Manik decided to join the group an hour later since he had concall to attend. After finishing his concall, Manik tried calling his friends but no one picked up the call. He then thought of checking on Nandini and knocked her room's door. Nandini opened the door and let him in.

Nandini – I thought you were gone..!!

Manik – Yes I was planning to but couldn't get through any of these guys...I don't know where they are at the moment and I obviously can't look for them in the entire city..So I am waiting for either of them to call back and probably then I can join them.

Nandini – Hmm..

Manik – How are you feeling now..??

Nandini – Much better...haven't been to the hills since a long time now..probably because of that I felt a little sick..

Manik – Hmmm...I hope I am not disturbing....

Nandini – No..Not at all...I was just recollecting the day's happenings...I mean it is hard to believe that the break thing is such a hit even today..!!

Manik – True that...

A moment of silence ensued...A few minutes later both Manik and Nandini spoke in unison

Manik and Nandini – Let's take a break

They smiled at coincidence of the their thoughts..

Manik – Nandini can I ask you something..??

Nandini – Now that we are on a break, I think you don't need to ask me that question

Manik – Right..Why don't you drive Nandini..??

Nandini – Because a certain someone I believed in told me that I am an Irresponsible person and I have not right to put people's life in danger, Oh wait you must be knowing that na..because it was you who said that..!!

Manik – Right it was me who said that but Nandini due you remember the night when you got drunk by accident,

Flashback Starts

It was the during the Valentine week when Fab5 along with Navya and Nandini wre attending a party when by mistake Nandini drank alcohol instead of a mocktail. On realizing that something was not right, she went up to Manik and poked him on his arms. Manik turned around and the sight in front of him got him worried. Nandini was looking out of place. He asked

Manik – Are you fine..??

Nandini – I don't know, I think I should go home

Manik – Wait for me..I'll come along..

Manik started to walk with Nandini following him. A few moments later, Nandini held his hand. Manik turned around only to find her face covered with uneasy expression, he held her by her shoulder and in the next split second she fell unconscious leaning on to his chest.

Flashback Ends

Manik – You know that day I thought I would have to bear all your tantrums since you were drunk. When I was taking you back to my house since I couldn't take you back to the hostel, you regained your consciousness. I was counting in my head when you would start with the drunk scene but to my surprise when I turned around to have a look on you, I found you trying too hard to sleep. You might be wondering why am I telling you this. Nandini, in a scenario, when normal people lose their sense easily and create nuisance, you on the other had was trying to put the little sense you had at work just to avoid creating troubles for anyone around you. That day my respect for your had increased two folds since I realized that the girl I am in love with not only she is great and responsible when she is in all her senses but also when her senses had been overpowered by an external force, she doesn't forget her responsibility. I have several other exampled to prove to you the responsible girl you are. Now tell me Nandini, what words do you want to pay attention to... rather whose words...The words of a guy who has let his anger overpower him and termed you as irresponsible or the words of the guy who fell in love with you primarily because he found you responsible and trustworthy.

Nandini – Manik...I can't get those words out of my head....You could let go harsh memories Manik but for me some wounds are too deep to be healed..

Manik – Wounds..right..Do you really think my wounds have been been healed Nandini..You are wrong..My wounds have made a covering on themselves so they look healed but a hollow wound is not a cured wound Nandini...tell Me something Nandini....Did you ever miss me..??

Nandini – Manik is that even important now Manik..??

Manik – (getting angry) yes it is Nandini...it is important...(raising his voice with every word) It is important to me to know if you ever cared for me...it is important for me to know if my thoughts ever crossed your mind in all these years...it is important for me to know all these things...I can't wear this façade anymore...I am tired of pretending...I need get rid of this mask to know..(fell on the floor crying)...to know if you ever loved me..!!
