"Boss its hard to get your girl now. Manik Malhotra has taken her under his wing. I don't think he plans to let another man near her. He is watching over her like her guardian angel ".  Smith added as he put some pictures on the table besides Harshad.

He looked through the pictures of Nandini & Manik as they held hands, laughed at each other. He clenched his hands in fist.   

"That bastard! He want to steal my Nandu from me I will make sure to kill the boy ones I get my hands on him ". He threw the glass of whiskey on the floor that resulted in it shattering in parts.

"He think he can steal what's rightfully mine .He started a war " .Smith shuttered in fear despite being a loyal follower to Harshad he felt pity for Nandu he knew she deserved nothing like Harshad's obsession. She reminded him of his daughter Maria. He never saw someone as beautiful and as pure as Nandini. Never as kind and innocent as her. For once he wished he was anywhere but here. But it was for the sake of his children and wife that he was forced into keeping tabs on Nandini.   

Nandini pov :

Who knew going through so many files can be an impossible task. My butt was numb due to sitting on one chair for hours. My legs has lost any feeling to them long hours ago. My brain in frenzy due to plenty things that were wrong. My back was stiff and my neck sore due to bowing too much on the files.   

"Miss Nandini " Kavya stood near my desk with my phone in hand. 

"Yes Kavya! Please tell them I am busy right now. What ever meeting they want it can wait for tomorrow " I sighed in exhaustion.   

"Your boyfriend called. He said he wants to talk to you " .

"Wait my Who called?" She was bewildered by the assumption.   

Kavya looked at me like I was some crazy person who have grown 2 heads not like it my possible. She handed me my phone and stool there with her eyes piercing in mine.   

"Hello which boyfriend of mine is this "  I said. 

"Hello star " 

' Manik' I was confused I never gave him my number.   

"Kavya can you leave I have everything under control " I added with my most fake sweet voice and a charming smile. She seems to buy it she wiggled her eyebrows at me and with a smile left. The moment she was gone i dropped my smile and hissed at him.

"How the hell did you get my number ?" .

"Mukti gave me besides you should see I saved my number under a very special name ". My eyes widened when I saw he was in my contacts under the name "handsome boyfriend ".

Is he for real I thought In my brain I was planning million ways yo kill him. I mentally strangled him with my hands.   

" How did you know the pattern? " I said.  

"I observed the pattern you were drawing '' Manik answered.

I wanted to kill him right now.   

"I am waiting outside your office building? " my eyes widened he was here this was worst thing if people saw him they will gossip  I can't let that happen.

"Look Manik go I can't let anyone see you here. People will talk ".   

"Nandu I am not leaving without you. Come outside or I will personally  come inside I am hungry and You haven't eaten anything either besides its good thing we can catch up on old times"manik said.   

"Why are you so stubborn and a pushover".

"Because I care about you" I was taken back by sincerity in his confession.

A smile formed on my lips on its own accord.

"Wait for 5 minutes I am coming " I  splashed some cold water on my face. Washed my hands and applying little makeup I went to kavya desk to tell her I was leaving for today. She waved me goodbye.   

My hands were sweaty and my heart was beating fast. I wipped my hands with the tissue that I keep in my pants pocket.   

Manik stood besides his bike. He was looking as handsome as with a  tight black V neck shirt. A leather jacket. Ankle high boots and ruffled hairs it gave him a bad boy look. He surprised me by pulling me in his arms and I knew heck i was sure I was blushing.   

" where are we going ?"   

"I know a place they make amazing food" he said sitting on his bike and handling me helmet. My eyes widened I stepped back. 

"What happened? You okay "he said.

"I am not sitting on this monster " i said pointing  at his bike and gulped .His eyes held amusement.   

"I don't want to die " i mumbled to myself mostly.

"Come here" he said softly extending his hand towards her. Unconsciously she grabbed it making him carefully pull her to him. The warmth from his body touching her almost as something much more needed. For once she didnt care if people saw them together or if they gossip.

"Don't worry I will drive slowly I promise " he gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.  She nodded he handed her another helmet and when she looked at it like inspecting something foreign.  He made sure it was his job to put it on her head. With simple instructions they were off to there destinations. Putting her arms around his waist nothing looked inappropriate to her. Ones in her life time that day she felt truly special and needed. She smiled, she laughed and share her experiences with him openly a feeling she have given up five years ago.
