Part 45 Trap

Half an hour, after Sultan left his house, the police arrived. Sultan's wife composed herself and asked,

"What happened, sir?"

"Where is your husband?"

"He is not at home, sir"

"Where did he go?"

"I don't know, sir. He never says where he goes"

The police got inside the home and searched for Sultan. They came out as they didn't find him at home.

"Tell him, that he could not be escaping for long. We are arresting all Dev Sinha's men. Your husband will also get arrested soon"

Sultan's daughter hugged her mother with fear. The police left the place. People surrounded the Sultan's house and watched the hungama. Dev Sinha's man was also one among them. He called Dev and told him about it.

Dev called his men and alerted them but he was late. A maximum of his men who had criminal records were arrested from the whole district. That created a shocking vibe in the district. Dev Sinha and Shyam were horrified and also furious. They didn't know what to do to get rid of this issue.

"Very soon, you will be arrested with the help of your men's statement," Shyam said wrathfully.

"You don't know about my men. They will rather live their life but will not open their mouth" Dev Sinha said with pride.

"Maybe, but you should not be careless, sir... please leave the district and go to your friend's place"

"Even though I go to my friend's place, he will find a way to arrest me. there is no use in running away. We should find another solution to this problem"

"Whatever... we have to act fast before he takes the lead"

"I have an idea"

"Tell me, sir"

"Call the Narcotics Control Bureau"

"Narcotics? But why, sir?"

"Do what I say..."

"Ok, I will do but what should I say after calling them?" Shyam asked with confusion.

"Tell them, the usage of drugs increased in this district. People casually pass the drugs to the school students too"

"But, why, sir? Why do you want to bring Narcotics to this district? What are you going to do with them?"

"You will get to know that soon"

Shyam nodded ok and did what Dev Sinha said. They made the same call from every Takul in the district.

Arnav had a good time with his in-laws and took their leaven in the evening. Guptas sent them off gladly.

Raizadas came back to the camp office.

"We are leaving tomorrow," said Arvind.

Arnav glared at him.

"We will come back in a week after making needed arrangements"

"Are you sure?"

"We came to your wedding leaving everything as it is... Give us some time to settle. We will come after giving our house for rent"

"Before doing that, inquire about the family who are going to be in our house on rent"

"Yeah, that's why we want to go. We can't give the responsibility to anyone"

"Mm... Ok. Go to Delhi. Finish the issue and come here forever"

"Ok, ok..."

"But, Aunty, can't you go after he goes to the office? He will be at home for only two days" Khushi asked.

"He will be at home for only two days. So, enjoy with your husband. We will come in a week. After that, we will be with you"

"They are testing you whether you can handle me alone or not" Arnav laughed.

Khushi smiled looking down.

"Don't worry, Mom, I will not trouble her a lot... She will be safe" he smiled teasingly.

"Arrange for our tickets," Ratna said.

"Ok..." Arnav dialed Aman and advised him to arrange hired parents' tickets.

Arvind turned the TV on and watched the news channels. All three except Arnav got stuck to see the news. They looked at Arnav whose gaze was on TV.

"Are not you on leave?" Arvind asked Arnav who smirked.

"It doesn't seem he is on leave," Ratna said.

"See, Khushi, this is how he works. He shows as if he is at home, spending time with his family but he does his work side by side"

"Dad, did I let the work disturb us? No, right?"

"Do one thing, Chotte... be at home and do your work always... make sure it doesn't disturb our family. What say?" Arvind teased.

"Then what about the salary I'm getting for my job?" Arnav laughed.

"We will think about it later. What say?"

"Dad, your tickets will be arranged. Go and sleep... you will have to wake up early in the morning"

"Don't you want to eat dinner?"

"Nothing doing. My Mother-in-law fed me tight... I will not feel hungry for the next two days" Arnav chuckled.

"You are right. I too don't have an idea to eat dinner"

"Ok, Dad. Good night"

"Good night"

They went to their respective rooms.

Arnav lay on the bed and spread his hand, asking Khushi to come to him. Khushi sat on the bed looking down. He pulled her on his chest and hugged her tight.

"Will you handle me alone?" he asked.

"You are the man who is handling the whole district... then how could I handle you?"

"You can... because neither you are public nor you are a wrongdoer"

"And you are not a naughty kid to handle..."

"Really? Will you handle me?"

"Mmm"

"First, try to talk by looking at me. then you can think of handling me" he flipped her on the bed and came over to her.

"Now, tell me, will you handle me?"

"Will you leave me if I say no?"

"No way... you have to handle me. you have no choice" he smirked and leaned towards her to kiss her.

The next day

Arvind and Ratna went to Delhi. Arnav and Khushi dropped them at the airport and returned home.

Arnav received a call from the head of the secret team. He attended it.

"Hello..."

"Sir, our district is under the control of the Narcotics Department..."

"Under Narcotics? What do you mean?"

"Yes, sir... it seems they got complaints from our district"

"Who complained?"

"Don't know sir... it seems they received many complaints"

"Didn't anyone complain in the police station?"

"No, sir... there is no single case filed in the local police station about the drug dealing"

"then how did the Narcotics get complaints?"

"That's the question, sir but we didn't get anything"

"Did anyone get arrested so far?"

"No, sir...no one is arrested"

Arnav became thoughtful. What was happening? He was confused. He knew Narcotics didn't need the collector's permission to enter the district. They have the full right to go anywhere and arrest anyone. The question was, why they were in his district. The much he knew there were no drug activities in his district and nothing could happen without his knowledge because his team was always alert. He wanted to know the reason.

"I will come to the office," he said.

"No, sir...you are on leave. We will update you"

"That's ok... spending an hour will not harm. I'm coming"

Arnav disconnected the call and looked at Khushi.

"Khushi, I will drop you in GH. Be with your mother. I will pick you up after an hour"

Khushi nodded ok.

"Won't you ask me the reason?"

"I know it must be important..."

"So sweet of you..." he smiled.

After dropping Khushi in GH, Arnav went to meet the Narcotics head.

Khushi was spending time with her mother. That was when she heard a calling bell sound. She opened the door and saw someone standing with a bag. Khushi frowned.

"May I know who are you?"

"Collector sir asked me to give this to you, Madam"

"What's this?"

"Seed Balls"

Khushi's face brightened literally.

"Seed balls?"

"Yes, ma'am..." he extended the bag to her.

Khushi was glad to get the seed balls unaware of the truth that it was a TRAP.
