Part 44 Implementing the plan

Arnav reached his in-law's house with his wife and parents. Guptas gave them a warm welcome. Raizadas accepted it, joining their hands.

"We are glad to welcome you," Garima said.

"Yes, Raizadaji, we are happy, you visited our home," Shashi said, shaking his hand with Arvind.

"How could we miss the chance to be with nice people like you?" Ratna said.

"We are glad that my son got good in-laws" Arvind smiled.

"I will bring you something" Garima went to the kitchen and brought them snacks.

"Shall I ask you something, Ratnaji?"

"Tell me, Garimaji"

"Why should you be in Delhi when Damadji is here? You too can settle down with them...!"

Ratna and Arvind looked at Khushi, like, did you talk to your mother about it already?

"No no... I didn't talk to Amma about it. She is talking on her own" Khushi said hurriedly.

Garima frowned as she didn't understand the sequence.

"Khushi asked them the same before we came here..." Arnav smiled.

"Is it? That's good. She is our daughter after all..." Garima smiled.

"Khushi didn't ask anything wrong though... You should consider her request, Raizadaji. A family completes with elders only..." Shashi said.

"But some elders complicate the family too..." Arvind laughed.

Arvind and Ratna glanced at each other, whereas Shashi and Garima didn't know what topic they finished and concluded.

"Amma, uncle, and aunty are going to be with us... They are not going to go to Delhi. That was what we concluded." Khushi told Garima.

"Really? Thank God..." Garima smiled.

"We have not decided yet," Ratna said.

"Mom, Khushi wants you to be with us. You should respect her. Which daughter-in-law wants to be with her in-laws? You should feel glad about getting a good daughter-in-law like Khushi" Arnav flattered his wife.

"Apart from good and bad, it's your right and responsibility to be with your children as well..." Garima said.

"Why are you hesitating?" Shashi asked.

"Khushi will not make you feel bad for being with them. I can say that" Shashi said.

"We just thought to give them space"

"You can give the space being with us too," Arnav said.

"See, your son also wants you to be with them..." Garima said.

"Yes, I want them to be with us. To date, I didn't insist you come to me because my schedule is hectic. I'm a busy man. I didn't know when would I come home. Sometimes, I might not come home. But now, Khushi is here. She will have to be alone at home until I come home... That's why I want you to be here with her"

Khushi raised her brows. Arnav was always good at analyzing issues but if he thought about her so much, why didn't he call them to be with them before?

"Ok... We will be here... Happy?" Arvind asked.

Arnav smiled.

"We agreed to be here, not for you but for Khushi..."

Arnav smirked.

"You know what, Garima Aunty is going to join Khushi in social service," Arnav said.

"Is it?" Ratna looked at Garima amazed.

"Khushi went to her husband's place. I will have to be alone at home for the whole day. Khushi wants me to spend my time useful. That's why she suggested me to join her. I too think it's a good idea. I spoke to Shashi ji. He too showed a green flag. So, I'm going to join them"

"That's great..."

"You too can join them if you feel bored at home," Arnav said.

"Actually, we are doing social service already," Arvind said.

"Really?" Asked Garima.

"Yes... Though we don't do fieldwork, we are contributing our best. We planted a hundred saplings on Chotte's birthday..."

"Really?" Khushi was excited.

They nodded yes.

"Mom, look at your daughter-in-law's face... Hearing you planted trees, how her face blooming...By planting a few trees, you can get your daughter-in-law on track so simply." Arnav teased Khushi and made her blush.

All of them laughed.

"Now, I understand why Chotte was stubborn to marry Khushi..." Arvind said and everyone looked at him.

"It's because consoling her would be simple for him"

Khushi again blushed. Arnav smiled seeing that.

"Aunty..." He carried Garima.

"Jee, Damadji...?"

"May I use the washroom?" Arnav asked.

Garima looked at Khushi who was bewildered.

"Khushi... Take him to your room"

Khushi stood up and nodded ok.

"Come with me Arnavji"

Khushi headed to her room. Arnav followed her. When she entered her room, Arnav pulled her towards him and hugged her, making her eyes wide.

"Arnavji..."

"Mmm?"

"Washroom..." She looked at the washroom.

"It's not needed"

She looked at him perplexed.

"I just feel to hug you... that's why I excused myself from them" he smirked.

Khushi smiled, biting her lip.

"May I ask you something?" she asked hesitatingly.

"You are always welcome to ask me anything"

"You said you want uncle and aunty to be with us because I would be alone at home until you reach home. If you want your parents to be here for me, why didn't you ask them to stay here before itself?"

"It's because I didn't know what you felt about being with them. That's why"

"Would not you have asked them to be with us if I hadn't asked them?"

He nodded no.

"You are the one who is going to be with them. I will not be at home. You know that. if you guys don't cope, I can do nothing. Even though I know you guys are adjustable, I don't know what would be your expectations. You might like to be liberal..."

"I would like to be happy, not liberal because I know I'm not doing anything wrong. I can be happy being with my in-laws too..."

"Trust me, they will understand you"

Khushi nodded yes.

"You want them to be with you right?"

Arnav nodded yes.

"I so wanted to be with them. They are the reason, what I am today...! I want them to see how their son is getting celebrated. Will you look after them?"

Khushi nodded yes.

"I will adjust them even though they taunt me... happy?"

"Not happy... you are also equally important to me. you don't have to adjust to humiliation. You too have respect but I'm sure, it will not happen"

"You don't have to bother about me and our family, Arnavji. I will manage. You can do your work, relaxing"

Arnav kissed her cheek smilingly and said,

"Thank you"

"We have to go. Our parents are there"

Arnav nodded yes and left her. As he didn't expect, Khushi pecked his cheek and rushed out giggling, leaving him with an adorable smile.

Arnav was supposed to go out, he got a call from the SP. He attended the call.

"Yes, SP, sir..."

"Sir, we verified Sulthan's criminal record. He was involved in many crimes for Dev Sinha. We can't just let him go, sir. If we leave him, Dev Sinha will get doubt"

"Mmm... I will take care of that if you follow my plan"

"Yes, sir"

Arnav elaborated his plan to the SP.

"As you say, sir," The SP said.

"You can start arresting other Dev Sinha's men"

"Ok, sir... I already formed a special team. They are waiting for my orders to start"

"Go ahead"

"Yes, sir"

They disconnected the call.

Arnav called Sulthan who was having breakfast at home.

"Hello, sir"

"Can we talk?"

"Yes, sir... I'm at home only"

"Listen to me carefully... if you make a simple mistake, you will get caught. Remember, this plan is not only to protect Khushi but also to save you from all your deeds. if you follow my instructions, I can help you to lead a peaceful life"

"What do you want me to do, sir?"

Arnav told Sulthan about his plan.

"Ok, sir... I will do it"

"I won't call you. You call me when the situation favours you"

"Ok, sir" Sulthan disconnected the call and looked at his wife. He insisted her to do what she should do. She nodded ok happily because they could live like others calmly as Sulthan agreed to go with Arnav's plan.

She stuffed his stuff in a bag and gave it to him.

"No, I can't take this"

"What will you having nothing with you?"

"I will have to manage. Then, Dev baba will get doubt"

Without wasting time, Sulthan left the house. At the same time, the special police team started arresting Dev Sinha's men from every corner of the district.
