𝐗𝐗. 𝐀 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧?
Min Yoongi
I swung open the front door, and on the other side stood a girl with a pale complexion and long, black hair. I stared in confusion while she scanned me from head to toe.
"Who are—"
"Damn, you're really hot," the girl remarked, her comment catching me off guard. "We haven't met yet, right? You Jimin's friend?"
"Uhh...not exactly?"
"Not exactly?" Her eyes widened as if she had made some revelation. "Ohhh, I see. You're more than friends." She dragged out each word while suggestively wiggling her eyebrows.
"What the—"
"You know, I didn't know if he swung both ways, but dude's got pretty good taste in men. I—"
"We are not dating!" I shouted out, completely fed up. Who the hell is this girl, and why does she keep talking so goddamn much?
A muffled laugh came from behind me, and I looked over my shoulder to see Jungkook clearly entertained. The strange girl also peeked around me to steal a glance.
"Oh my god, I leave for a couple of months, and suddenly Soomi's surrounded by all these cute guys? And she doesn't tell me?" she exclaimed with an overly dramatic gasp. "Where is she?"
I pressed my hand against the doorframe, preventing the girl from entering the house.
"Look, I've been trying to ask you, who are—"
"Misa?" Soomi's voice came from behind me. I noticed that she had just gotten out of the shower, her hair still slightly damp as she ran a towel through the locks of hair. The sight of her face so close to mine was still fresh in my memory. I couldn't take my eyes off of her, but her eyes were focused elsewhere, on the girl who stood at the door.
The room filled with excited squeals as Soomi rushed towards our direction. I hastily stepped off to the side as she hugged the girl.
"Misa, this is Jungkook and Yoongi. Guys, this is my best friend, Misa.
"Best friend my ass. You haven't called me in ages! I had to drag myself all the way back to Korea just to hear from you again."
"Ah, about that..." Soomi let out a guilty laugh. "It's been a rough couple of weeks."
As Soomi was talking, I noticed Jimin enter the room from the corner of my eye. He instantly froze, as if he had seen a ghost.
"M-Misa?"
"Jimin!" Misa exclaimed before dashing across the room to hug him. Jimin jumped slightly at the physical contact before awkwardly wrapping an arm around her. "How have you been?"
"O-okay, I guess. You know, I-I have to go do...something, but it was nice seeing you," Jimin stuttered. He was out of the room faster than he had entered it. What's up with him?
I was about to close the front door when I noticed a suitcase sitting behind it. Oh god, wait, please don't say she's staying here.
"Is that your suitcase?" Soomi asked.
"Ah, yeah! I'm not gonna be in Korea for long, so why get a hotel room when I could crash at my friend's huge ass house?"
"I guess that'd be fine...if you'd be okay living with those two as well."
"What! They're living here? What's going on—"
"You know what? We have a lot to catch up on." Soomi nervously laughed as she began pushing Misa out of the room.
Soomi looked back at us with an apologetic expression, mouthing the word "sorry" before leaving our vision.
"Well, she's gonna be a treat to have around," I muttered.
"Yeah, I like her."
I gave him the side-eye.
"I was being sarcastic."
"I wasn't. She seems fun." Fun? Annoying seemed like a better word.
But I tried not to let first impressions cloud my judgment. She was Soomi's friend, after all.
Who knows. Maybe I'll grow to like her...

"Okay, first of all, I never liked Taehyung anyway, so screw him. Second, holy shit, you weren't joking about having a rough couple of weeks," Misa exclaimed after I had recalled the events of these last couple of weeks.
"Yeah, which is why I'm glad you're back from Japan. I've been keeping a lot of stuff bottled up..."
"What's up? You can talk to me." Misa's face grew serious. It was something I loved about her. Despite how fun and carefree she always was, she knew how to read the atmosphere.
"This is gonna sound crazy, which is why I didn't want to talk about this with anyone else except you, 'cause, well—"
"We both know I'm the crazy one in this friendship." Misa cracked a smile. I chuckled lightly, although it was more of a nervous laugh as I worked myself up to spill the words out.
"I've been having these nightmares, but they don't seem like ordinary dreams. There's always this voice talking. There's just something off about them."
"With everything going on right now, it makes a lot of sense you'd be having nightmares, though."
"No, I know that. But it's almost like..." I paused. There's no way this can be true, though. No, come on, Soomi. Just say it. "...like they're warnings. Predictions maybe?"
As expected, Misa gave me a skeptical look.
"What kind of warnings?"
"Well, one of them was like some warning about a man in all black? Then, I had this dream where I was running through a forest."
"But those seem like normal nightmares? I mean, serial killers wear black, and forests are hella creepy. Besides, why in the world would you ever be in a forest?"
She is making some good points.
"Okay, but that day Taehyung got hit by a car, I was at the beach. Just the night before, I was also at the beach in a dream. That can't just be a coincidence, right?"
"Hmm, I don't know..." Her voice trailed off, and at this point, even I knew I must sound ridiculous. "But hey, Soomi, if you really believe there's something off about them, why don't you just write everything down? Kind of like a dream journal? That way, maybe you'll be able to pick up on patterns. And if what you say is true, you'll be prepared for all the signs."
"That-that's not a bad idea," I responded with a smile, just relieved that she didn't instantly shoot down by concerns. "So...enough about me. How have you been?"
"What? Oh no, you don't. We gotta talk about those hot bodyguards first."
"W-what's there to talk about?"
"Come on. You're not with Taehyung anymore, and you're telling me you haven't fallen for any of them? I haven't even met this Hoseok guy yet, but I find it very hard to believe you're not even remotely attracted to at least one of them."
"Look, Misa, unlike you, I'm not horny 24/7," I teased. She gasped loudly while playfully smacking my shoulder.
"Oh, shut up. Now, quit dodging the question. You're telling me nothing has happened with any of them?"
I gulped, my mind wandering off to what had happened earlier. It was only an hour ago, but with everything happening so suddenly, the memory was already a bit hazy. Yet I could never forget the overstimulation of senses I felt in that moment: the feeling of his body heat against me, the pounding of my heart, the fluttering butterflies in my stomach.
"Well, with Yoongi, we sorta had a moment? But I would hardly call it something."
"I knew it! I need all the details."
"There aren't any details!" She gave me a skeptical look. "Okay, so I was sorta on top of him for a moment, and then he was on top of me," I quickly blurted out.
"Soomi! Oh my gosh, do you like him?"
"No...maybe? I don't know. Like, am I attracted to him? Of course, but I don't know about liking him...and besides, it wouldn't matter if I liked him."
"What? Why not?"
"He once told me he didn't believe in love. And besides, he's just here doing a job. "
"Okay, so he doesn't believe in love. Boy must believe in sex, right?"
"Misa!" I swear sometimes her straightforwardness still shocks me.
"What? I'm just stating facts. If you're attracted to him, what's the harm in trying?"
"What if I make things awkward?"
"And what if you don't? Come on, Soomi, I'm not gonna let you have another one of your high school moments being too scared to make a move on a crush for years."
I sighed. I knew Misa had a point, but the last time I was confident enough to make a move, Taehyung happened...
But should that stop me?
Yoongi would never hurt me like he did, right?
