Note: this chapter is not meant for roleplaying, but you are all meant to read this, as it is a note that all of your characters will receive upon arrival at the island. So, without further ado...

You may be wondering why we have brought you here and perhaps where exactly "here" is. Well, we are pleased to inform you that your parents have entered you into a new television game show! In this game show, twelve teenagers, including yourself, will participate as two teams of six for the possibility of winning a grand sum of one million dollars for each member of the winning team!

The game you will be playing is a slightly modified version of a game called "Man Hunt", which you may or may not be familiar with. The aim of the game is to find members of the opposing team and find out their letters. Each player will be given a single letter to guard, which will piece together to make a word that you must guess before the other team guesses yours.

Which brings us to you, (Name). You are one of six players in the (Red/Blue) team, are are therefore opposing the (Blue/Red) team. You will be assigned a letter, and you will have to guard it with your life. For your sake, and for the sake of your team, it is wise to keep this information to yourself. Don't tell anyone, even if you believe they can be trusted!

You will notice that there is a metal bracelet on your wrist. This is for us to keep track of your location and monitor your health. On the floor beside you, you will also find that we have left you a backpack containing some survival gear. We ask that you not be alarmed by the contents of the bag. They are simply there as a precaution.

Finally, we wish you good luck. This game will not be easy, but earning a huge sum of money never is. Also, we ask that you leave this note here in the room when you leave, to make sure no other candidates get their hands on your letter, as keeping it safe is imperative to your well being. So with that, we wish you the best of luck once more. The door to your room will open shortly and then you will meet with the rest of your team and get on with the game.

Important Note: Apparently I forgot to state this before, but this whole Man Hunt ordeal is actually the works of some top secret government agency, and this is the first of these Man Hunt games they've had. Therefore, nobody actually knows about it. Sorry I didn't mention that before!!! I knew I was forgetting something big...

Side Note: please pretend that when you read this letter, it is addressed to your character, and all that jazz. I don't want to have to write up the same note for every individual just so I could address it to them...
